A fantastic place, a must visit! I have been many times now: an absolute recommendation if you fancy Indian food. The food is delicious, with generous portions and a range to offer. I had the lamb Rogan Josh with pilau rice, something I would have again for sure. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the sauce was thick and tasty. The service was great, very attentive. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was cosy and calm, even though the restaurant was full. Somewhere you must visit.

Was in for a meal last Friday. I have been a few times over the last couple months and the food is outstanding every time without fail. Really friendly staff and would definitely recommend the Chicken Tawa as a main as it’s not too hot and has so much flavour, whilst also being unique having never seen it anywhere else. The main upside for me about this Indian however, is that you always leave feeling great and not ridiculously bloated which is priceless as that is usually the downside to going for a curry. Very rare to have incredible food and to not feel bloated and lethargic after, a real hidden gem!

We had a family meal for mum's birthday. The food and service was great, and the restaurant even bought a birthday cake for us. Fantastic night. Thank you. A Taste of India xx

I go to a lot of indian restaurants, and I eat a lot of indian food, but this place is in my top 3 restaurants! The food was absolutely great, portion was perfectly balanced, taste was full of life. People were very understanding and friendly. My only recommendation would be on the colour choice of table mats and the light. That has a small impact on atmosphere. Overall a grest experience.

Normally, we have a takeaway from the Taste of India. We decided to sit in the restaurant for a meal for the 1st time. Food as always great. The service was speedy. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. The Price charged for the food we received was very reasonable.

Ordered from these guys through Just Eat. Initially the there were items missing from our order but when I called they were very nice and apologetic and brought the rest of the food straight over. The food itself was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend this place 😊

Beautiful food and excellent delivery

2hrs 25 mins is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for delivery! They kept saying it was on its way when clearly it wasn’t. I don’t even know about the quality as it’s still not arrived at 8:50pm despite ordering at 6:22!!

Two hours and fifteen minutes to deliver a main, rice and nan. And then the delivery driver rang me to ask where he was. Rang to chase and was told the restaurant was busy, don't take the order then. If I was collecting I wouldn't be made to wait that long so why should a delivery.

We recently held a school reunion, and decided to eat at the Taste of India after drinking next door at the Johnsons arms. The booking had been made a couple of months before for 30+ guests and the restaurant contacted me a couple of times to fine tune numbers. We paid a deposit of £5 /head. On the day the restaurant had created one table of 16, and two of 10.There were another couple of diners there too. The place was very clean, and tables made up for our guests. The drinks and orders were taken quickly, and individual orders were taken, which were served promptly and efficiently. We also had had poppadoms, as you do. The restaurant staff were discrete, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Meals were served together in good time, which is some feat of kitchen logistics. The diners agreed that the food was excellent curry house standard, and at £25/head including drinks was very good value . Personally had the king prawn passanda, pilau rice and naan bread.Good size portions and prawns were definitely king size. Well done and thank you to the Taste of India- see you again.

Quick delivery, but food was disappointing. Ordered a bhuna, very hot and no flavour. Aubergines were undercooked and hard, dal was bland. Rice was missing.

Let down by tonight's meal unfortunately the chicken was very dry in our starter, the flavour was definitely not the same in our curry as before and the egg nan wasn't enjoyable.

Quality curries & tikka, at a decent price 👌

Booked a table for 4 to celebrate our daughter's birthday and had a really great evening. The restaurant is fairly small, but that gives a nice intimate atmosphere. There's a good choice of dishes on the menu, including some set meals. The service was spot on, and every dish was so good. There was plenty of food - in fact, there was quite a bit left over, so the staff provided containers so we could take it away - a nice touch. At the end of the meal, the waiters brought a cake and glasses of wine, and sang Happy Birthday - a surprise for all of us as we hadn't told them it was a birthday meal - I can only assume that they heard us wishing our daughter a happy birthday when we clinked our drinks - that's amazing customer service! All in all a really good evening - we're returning in a couple of weeks to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommended

AMAZING. Second time I’ve been here, first time for my parents and they loved it as did we. Service is amazing. Friendly, welcoming, accomadating lovely gentleman. The food is hot, delicious and tasty. The peshwari nan is amazing especially teamed with the korma. It was my birthday and the staff brought me out a cake and sang to me along with some sparkling wine too! Such a lovely lovely touch and so thoughtful. Highly reccomened this place to everyone! This review is based on the food. Staff have always been great, helpful and kept an amazing atmosphere to this used to be gem. I usually use this as my pit stop for quick bite on starters - curry sauces - naan breads. Now there has been shift in management/ownership. I am aiming this review purely at them! I have rated this place as the best samosa spot in town! But today the disappointment I have received when getting home, to find 3 tiny samosa from a frozen packet which you can usually find in the world frozen section at Tesco or Asda 20 pieces £5. Price of the Vegetable Samosa were cheaper than current price of £3.55. they were £2.95 and of a higher quality hand made right spices outsourced or not they were undoubtedly good. We are not bothered that you have changed the salad box to a bag but you have given frozen bag goods for a premium price. Today you’ve lost loyal customer who would happily spend £20 weekly on just samosas alone. I understand the cost of living, and business are suffering but this is not the way to do it. Handmade uncooked or cooked samosa are available at Adnan Sweet Centre 0.65p and also Naseebs on Ilkeston road.

Had a lovely birthday celebration here with a group of friends. Service was exceptional and I was so grateful to the staff for making my birthday special! This was my third time at Taste of India and they’ve never disappointed. Highly recommend.

Used to be my go to place on Uber eats as they would be included in most offers and thus make this the best bang for your buck. Since they are not included anymore on any Uber offer and now having paid full price, I’ve come to the realisation it really is just basic and not outstanding by any means while still paying quite a lot for it. Chicken tikka on the curries was too dry, peshwari naans weren’t filled properly and the taste was nice but nothing amazing. I’d advice anyone to pay slightly extra and order elsewhere cause the price quality is just not there anymore sorry! (and no I’m not a competitor)

Food was amazing staff so friendly and helpful. We went for for my dad’s birthday and they even brought a cake out for him was so nice will go again.

Delivery was very fast, however what I ordered (garlic chilli chicken) was not good. It was like they had burnt the garlic and so the whole dish just tasted of burn and was not enjoyable to eat

Food is really tasty we have ordered vegetable and chicken biryani it was delicious but So Spicy despite we asked NOT spicy 🌶️ !!! dude !!! we are still burning and drinking plenty of water 🥵😅

A good time at this curry house. The food was really delicious, and the drinks were nice too. Price wise, it was okay. This place does lose a star for its helium smell - the dying and old Valentine’s Day balloons were going flat, and leaving out all the helium which actually made it quite hard to breathe. Luckily the food made up for this though!

Finally, a food delivery that feels totally worth the money! Excellent curries with depth of flavour. I’ll be ordering again.

My only complaint about Taste of India is that they don’t start delivering earlier in the day. We love this place! Haven’t had a bad dish ever.

Came with a fairly large group and service was friendly and didn't take too long, decent currys with discernable differences (not always the case with some restaurants!) and good value

We ate in as a four and it was absolutely gorgeous. I had a chicken puree and the puree was heavenly! I also had a side of sagg Paneer which was equally lovely. Go and eat in it’s totally worth it!

I have been Taste of India before, but tonight was special - tonight I brought my dad out for dinner like we used to many years ago trying a variety of Indian restaurants. The table was booked for 6pm via the app and we arrived 10minutes earlier, now we were greeted by two regular staff and was received warmly, professionally. Guided to our table, seated and asked for drinks. The restaurant is clean, precise but the only downfall is where the reception and till is situated running along to the kitchen, I feel could be blocked off by a rolling wall to give the staff their privacy. After careful consideration, we choose our appetiser Onion Bhaji x3 which is a really good amount for £4.95, then we ordered a lamb rogan josh which you need to order seperate rice and two plain naan, with my order of keema balti (which I asked if they could make, due to not being on the balti menu - no problem for the staff) also provided with the balti was rice and chapati. As you can see from the pictures, the onion bhaji was cooked to perfection - no raw onions and no clump build up, my father loved the little touch of salad and the wedge of lemon in a squeezer. So it was 10mins to receive the starter, which is freshly cooked and then about 20mins to receive the main - truth be told I have waited longer, so I was impressed with the time because all food is cooked fresh. When the mains arrived, it was enough time to be hungry again. The rice was fluffy, not stodgy and was not overcooked or microwaved, it was tasteful on its own. The Keema was incredible, not overwhelmed with onions but balanced with flavour versus the little kick it gives. Presented beautifully, and the food was so good I did not need to use my fork - thank the lord for chapati and naan. My father's lamb rogan josh was perfectly coloured and the lamb was a lovely pink in the middle, very well cooked and seasoned. It was so nice he managed to clear his plate, lol, I needed a doggy bag and throughout the meal the customer service was second to none. Attentive, polite, professional and smart appearance also extremely helpful. All in it cost £42.05, but I have to be honest I would of paid up to £60. It was a dad and daughter night, will be back again - also my father loved his food and he is extremely picky. So it can be expensive but that's life, what a food and taste experience in beautiful surroundings but I miss the pictures of the waterfalls with cascading water.

Came here with a friend after an evening out, the staff were lovely and so attentive and the food was great. Will definitely be coming back again.

As a family we regularly ordered from here 20+ years ago but we grew up and moved on. Now back in Notts I’ve tried it 3 or 4 times in the last few years. Unless you want a largely bland and heavily sweetened sauce do not buy from here. The chicken itself is decent. With a few tweaks they could be infinitely better.

First time ordering from here and it was very nice. Fresh ingredients, all cooked perfectly and delivered on time.

Tasty and plenty of vegetarian

Been coming here for about 20 years and it’s changed considerably. Ask what gin they had and they bought me a drinks menu, asked for flavoured gins , they didn’t have any, then told me they only have one gin, so, no need for the drinks menu then ! Asked for jug of water .. it never turned up and the salad, was brown and dry. Some food was lovely but for what you pay it should all be delicious.

A proper curry house. By that, I mean the food is the important thing. I don't need uber fancy decor that some contemporary Indian restaurants seem to go for. The decor is nice, staff helpful and knowledgeable. Fair prices for such great food. Portion size is great too.

Food was okay, butter chicken was not at all what I expected, not sure if I received the wrong curry but it wasn’t creamy at all so a bit disappointing. Onion bajhi and naan also quite soggy and poppadum was burnt. Don’t know if I would order again…

Tried the Chicken Biryani with great hope, but the biryani tastes like a mix of Dal (chana)rice & Chicken... Highly dissatisfied. Didn't understand the recipe of adding chana in Biryani.

The food is always great, and the service is top tier, but the food tonight was more amazing than normal - particularly the chicken pakoras.

We are regular visitors to kabir's restaurant-sometimes as 3 and other times up to 13 persons. Never had a bad meal. Always tasty and served at the table at the right temperature. Some of our group can be fussy eaters but at the TASTE OF INDIA never any complaints. The prices are very acceptable too. The head waiter is a joy to have him serve you.

First time I have tried the Balti deal and it's a bargain for excellent food. Thanks for the samosas too!

Nice welcome, friendly staff, very tasty food. Modern café style decor. First visit but won't be the last. My chana puree starter was especially delish. The ambience could be improved with softer lighting & turning down the mega-volume on the takeaway order phone. A bit of a shame that the food is wheeled from the kitchen to the restaurant past the loos.

Food was lovely. Restaurant forgot part of my order, but I called & they sent the driver straight back with the missing items. Will definitely order again
