Good value, family run restaurant. Looked after our group very well, thanks!

Food was delicious. Had chicken and paneer dishes. Chicken tikka baher which was suggested by Mr. Ehsan was the best. Spices were managed according to our choices and moreover pocket friendly restaurant for Service was top class. Would definitely be a good to place for Indians and Asians.

I am from India and I was searching for authentic Indian taste from last year in Nottingham. Finally, I found it in this restaurant. I have tried chicken tikka bahar and it was delicious. Additionally, Ehsan has provided us an excellent service and suggested his own recommend dishes from the menu.

Had a Vegetarian dinner at Noor Jahan. Recommended :Panner bhuna saag. Would rate 5/5.

This is my families go to family run restaurant. The food the curries are always on point and delicious with the portion sizes big for a big man like me. I have two teenagers and a wife, and they always enjoy the experience they get from Noor Jahan. The service we get is always impeccable, so if your local like me or your just visiting Nottingham, Noor Jahan is the go to place for value and great curries. I took my Jamaican aunty recently she loved it.!

The best thing about the restaurant was the any starter, any main, any naan and rice combo, all the curries and starters we ordered were great. The mango lassi was also amazing. It’s a great place to come with friends and have a good time. Totally recommend.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the service was quick as well. They even consider customizing the spice level to your liking. Recommended non veg starters: Prawn puree and Tandoori king prawn. Main course: Chicken tikka bahar with naan. The food was exceptionally delicious and budget friendly. 10/10 would come back again for sure!!

Hidden gem! Lovely place for authentic curries.

Absolutely love it here! We came here for a society meal, and they were able to accommodate 15 people. The food was amazing, as well as the service. The lamb rogan Josh was probably the best curry I’ve ever had, so we ended up coming again a few days later. The owner made a personal effort to come introduce himself and learnt our names which was lovely. We tried a new curry which I can’t spell, however, it was just as good. I would recommend anyone to come, and the prices are the best I’ve seen in the whole of Nottingham. £14.95 for a starter, a main, rice, naan bread, and a coffee and mint at the end.

A warm welcome by the staff here, there are always people here enjoying the good food and service. If you ask for extra garlic or spice, your request is spot on. Tasty and plenty of variety of dishes on the menu. The £14.95 meal deal of 1 starter, 1 main, 1 vegetarian side, 1 rice/naan & 1 tea/coffee put bums on seats as that is such good value for money and plenty of it. Would highly recommend and would visit again in the future.

We have been going to Noor Jahan for over 20 years. It is excellent in every way. The food is consistently gorgeous. It's extremely good value for money. The staff are polite and very welcoming.

I and four others went for a meal on 2/3/24, the staff were very friendly and couldn’t fault the meal. The reason I have only left 2 * is for the lack of alcoholic beverages, not everyone drinks alcohol these days and I had to settle for a bottle of orange juice which I don’t really like then water. Very disappointing that they couldn’t offer something like Corona Zero or something similar.

The Noor Jahan has been a family favourite for longer than my own lifetime. The team always make sure you come over and make a fuss of us and could not be more helpful while we're deciding what to have. The food is consistently 2nd to none! In all the years we've been attending I've never had any problems at all. The price is beyond reasonable and you never leave hungry. Noor Jahan is one of Nottingham's best kept secrets, and absolute no brainer! So get yourself down there!

Banging curry, for a great price and friendly staff

Went for the first time tonight as a belated valentines day meal. Service was fast and the waiters were welcoming. Food and drink was very reasonably priced, definitely bang for the buck as they say. The popadom to start with which was accompanied by a tray of dips, followed by the starter (i had lamb tikka which i highly recommend), all started also came with a side salad which was a nice touch. The curry and rice came in generous sized portions safe to say we left feeling rather full. Could tell all the food was fresh and very well cooked. Definitely a hidden gem and will be going again.

This is the best curry house in Nottingham hands down. I’ve been to all the “flagship” places on maid Marian way which are all very good but this place is the best. Value is second to none. Staff are fantastic. I love the feel of the old place as it’s been here for so long. The hot meat starter is simply the best starter I’ve ever had in an Indian restaurant and is a firm favourite. I had lamb kahari this time which was simply stunning. Butterfly prawns were crispy and so flavoursome. Mango lassi to wash it all down simply stunning. I cannot knock this place at all. 5 stars across the board. Be back soon!

I often go to this restaurant with my family. The food, service and atmosphere is top notch. The restaurant decor is also of a very high standard. You can't go wrong with the prices either. Do not miss going to the Noor Jahan!

Asked for "Spicy" food and they delivered..!! Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a good place to have some excellent Indian/Bangladesh cuisine. Very friendly service and environment.

Excellent food & friendly staff.

I have been wanting to attend this restaurant for a while and was not disappointed! Noor Jahan had great service from the moment I called to make the reservation until we left at the end of the meal. Inside the decor is quite charming (although could possibly be updated) and the vibe cosy and friendly. Lovely welcome and choice of table.. The staff were accommodating and explained any questions we had regarding the menu. My friends and I each had the set menu, which is AMAZING value. Three courses for 14.95 Starter, main, veg dish or naan), pilau rice,coffee and mint to finish. Each course was packed with great flavour and the portion sizes were excellent! Poppadoms were lovely with a great selection of chutneys and pickles (the lime pickle was particularly intense and tasted great). I really enjoyed the Noor jahan kebab and tandoori prawns starters (which came out theatrically on a sizzling plate!) The mains were all equally tasty with lots of chef specialities to choose from. Rice was flavourful and fluffy and the naan was warm and yummy. A jug of mango lassi was shared between us, very light, fresh and super delicious! We were all too full to have the coffee but did have a tasty mint to finish us off! Lots of food leftover due to the generous portions which staff were happy to provide take out boxes for so we could take home. The experience was great, food fabulous, and I hope to go back soon! A real hidden gem in the city.

I was very impressed because the price (£26.95) was very affordable for the two-person set meal. The environment was comfortable, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it to everyone who has just shopped in Victoria Centre.

Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere

When the mandem recently ventured out to a little known place called Noor Jahan, I wondered what to expect from my back entrance the next day, as I approached the front entrance of the eatery. The table was set out for 12 guys but a couple of wastemen bailed on the day of the meeting. It was no drama, plenty of room to manoeuvre and order via the 6 or 9 waiters with authentic family-business vibes and kingfishers on tap. The lamb Karahi had man in a state of shock. It is slow cooked, with chunks upon chunks of tenderness, caressed by onion, green pepper and garlic. Couldn’t believe the quality for a tenner. Everyman was bigging up Jobba D for his inspired venue shout after we saw that it was only 36-quid-a-man when it came to the bill. We must’ve had about 40 pints between us. In summary, this place is leng! Underrated and the second best curry house in Notts. Thank you to the chef and staff. Would recommend Noor Jahan.

Amazing food, friendly service and atmosphere.

As always, amazing food, amazing atmosphere and amazing staff. You are always made to feel welcome at this family run restaurant no matter how busy it might be. The staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable and will help you if you are unsure of anything on the menu. The food is full of flavour and leaves an amazing taste in your mouth. There is plenty of choice and I can guarantee that you will leave happy.

Still an excellent restaurant. Excellent prices for city centre. Food is excellent quality and the staff are very friendly. Drinks are slightly cheaper than average prices.

We came back, as we said we would 7 months ago - they do an awesome deal - A starter, main, side dish or sundrie and pilau rice, followed by coffee and chocolate for £14.95pp - such amazing value and delicious, authentic food. They offer a great range and the menu is easy for some allergy-awkward folk such as myself! I managed to get a photo this time but it won't do it justice. For £14.95pp, you should come and try it yourself!

Excellent service!  and the food was delicious  especially the Chicken Tikka Bahar. I started with Hot Meat, followed by Chef's Special Chicken Tikka Bahar with Ginger Rice. It's a popular and bustling restaurant in Nottingham. I ate my dinner over there. I'm definitely going to visit their restaurant next time. I highly recommend this place.

The moment I walked in the door, my waiter eshan greeted me and made me feel very welcomed. He was lovley and gave us the best service I have personally ever received. He’s had a smile on his face the whole time!!

4/1/24 I am sad to have to amend my review from 7 months ago. Tonight was very disappointing, again for our table of 2. The 2 waiters who served us were sweeties even tho English was not their 1st language, their smiles made up for any language barriers. The music was dreadful, an Asian version of Grandma We Love You by children on repeat which they did change on request to an iffy movie soundtrack. The food was amazing per usual, but we waited so long between starter & main that I wanted to leave. Our main curries were warm but had a skin on them suggesting that they had been stood for a while. I don't understand. 3 waiters in whites, the manager & a man in a shell suit at front of house & then poor service from the kitchen. One table of 8 having their starters when we arrived, then one couple after us, then a table of 6 as we were on coffee. So not at all busy. This place is so hit & miss & I can only say that I miss Mr & Mrs Khan who used to run it superbly. I don't think I am willing to visit again any time soon. So disappointing. Manager you need to address this please! Booked for 10/5/23 & both the food & service were excellent. Assen (sp) & his colleague really looked after us. We hadn't booked for a while after 2 disappointing visits when the service, food knowledge of the waiters & long waits for the food to arrive ruined the experiences. However, this was not the case last night & once again I can thoroughly recommend the Noor Jahan. The set menu is extensive & good value at £14.95. Nice touch by Assen to warm my brandy & the coffee & mints were of good quality & rounded off a most enjoyable evening. 5 stars.

Undoubtedly one of the best Bangladeshi Restaurants I have ever visited. Having worked overseas for many years, along with many Bangladeshi and Indian staff have great experience of their cuisine and can't find any better in Nottingham.

The food was good, the service even better. The waiters were friendly, helpful and immaculately dressed. Two thumbs up.

Went last night as a party of four friends who dine out once a month in Nottingham. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. Both the food and service were excellent. Tandoori prawn starter and chicken balti main both delicious. Thank you Noor Jahan.

As an Indian student,I was searching for an authentic Indian restaurant for soo long and it's just amazing,the taste ,the staff,the vibe everythings amazing.The thing I liked the most is the paneer Tikka starter and naan.

Brilliant authentic food at a great price with lovely service

We have come here a couple of times now, particularly enticed by their £14.95 dinner deal, which is great value. The service is excellent, we have enjoyed our starters of tandoor chicken and king prawn bhaji puri, they’re well presented and flavourful. The mains on our second visit weren’t as good as the first time, but still enjoyable. I expected a bit more thickness and heat from a bhuna, might be worth requesting next time and the saag aloo was bland. The garlic naan was delicious. Can’t knock Noor Jahan for value and we will be regulars here for certain.

Came here at opening during Storm Babet. I enjoyed my eating experience here with cosy decor nodding to its 1970s founding. I had a bhuna with rice and a cobra. The bhuna was delicious and I regretted being a solo diner and unable to also sample the vindaloo keema. All the staff were warm and lovely and chatted with me a bit as the storm had warded off other punters.

Had a curry tonight, the blandest curry I’ve had in over 40 years, then the owner came and told me he’d been cooking curry for over 50 years. Doesn’t mean it’s good, English people too polite to complain but vote with their feet!

I was a little disappointed in our meals, I ordered the garlic chicken and I would normally find obvious garlic in the meal which this one was lacking. Friendly attentive staff. We visited Saturday at 6.30pm.

The best Indian restaurant in the UK by a mile, Have been coming here for over 40 years, the food, atmosphere and the service are five stars. As a comparison we have visited Michelin starred Indian restaurants in London but this beats them all. Excellent work Khan and family. We’ll be back ……….
