Really bad. Try somewhere else.

Very overrated. Food and service both poor. Much much better authentic Turkish food elsewhere. Can't understand how some people think this place is worth visiting 😔

Booked here for our friend’s retirement meal. £5 deposit each for a table at 6pm. Orders were taken from each half of the table at different times. Some food was cold, or burnt. Some food was great. My own food was served as a large and I’d ordered a small. I mentioned this and my plate was taken into the kitchen and pieces of chicken were removed from the plate with their fingers and the same plate was given back to me. 3 meals were completely forgotten about and then didn’t come out until half of our plates had already been cleared. One of which was the friend who was retiring. Ridiculous. The staff were rude when it came to payment, the manager was even ruder and the chef taking payment was absolutely diabolical. We were told the late food was wiped off the bill in addition to our deposits. How on earth can an £11 meal and a £2.20 coke with a £5 deposit come to £15.80? I should have paid £8.20, but ended up paying the £15.80 just to get out of the place. Would not recommend ever. Would actually actively discourage people from wasting their time. Wouldn’t even rate it 1/5 stars👍

We had a work night here last night food was amazing, great restaurant nothing was too much trouble for the staff will definitely be visiting again

It was our first time. Family of four. We got the table pretty quick but was squashed. Basically the next table heard our conversation. Waited a long time for food. They served my daughter first. All three of us just sat there. She would wanted to eat by herself and they served the rest of the food six minutes later. Her food got cold. We couldn't even complain as noone came to our table after they served us fully. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

i came to tipoo today, and the service was diabolical my food came out and it was freezing cold i sent it back to get a fresh one and they refused to give me a fresh plate even though my food has been passed around all staff and one of the staff touched it with their own finger and tried to serve me the same food, I would never come here again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else too

This review should be taking maturely food is average, not spectacular, but the thing to worry about is staff attitude, no interpersonal skills, nor they know a way of dealing with people, hoovering near customers and serving people behind, and level they talk to customer is steert trash, food is arguably NOT fresh & is challenge anyone who try to prove this wrong The chef who i'd give it 5/10 no more sorry guys 27th Oct repky--- sorry your response is not even grammatically correct English, not trying to judge anyone on personal level , it's a work related thing, I tell you what if i notice something changed next time I'm happy to change this , but till then this is something you'dneed todo from your end

Have dined here several times, this is an absolutely amazing place with delicious food!! Strongly recommend the Tipoo Mix Platter if you don’t know what to order. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can ask to take away the food that you didn’t finish at the end, very environmentally friendly.

Esta fue una selección aleatoria de nuestra búsqueda de un restaurante halal en una reciente visita a Nottingham. Qué gran elección que hicimos. El lugar estaba lleno de familias de aspecto feliz, el ambiente era generalmente feliz y el personal, aunque ocupado y se precipitó de sus pies, eran sonrientes y serviciales. Optamos por compartir un plato mixto para 2 , que venía con buenas cantidades de shawarma de cordero y pollo, kebab de cordero y pollo y suculento kebab de shish de cordero. También había una cesta de pan encantador y caliente servido con salsa humeante y fría para mordisquear mientras esperábamos y ensalada servida con el plato principal. Aunque realmente llenos, logramos compartir una porción de kunefe recién hecho, seguido de mi té turco favorito. En general, una comida encantadora y sabrosa e incluso podríamos considerar un viaje de ida y vuelta de más de 200 millas para probar otra comida allí!

Tipoo is mine and my partners favourite place to eat in nottingham. I have been coming here since i was young and it has never failed to impress! I would recommend the mix donner shawarma, the ribs and the lahmachun!

Genuinely my favourite restaurant in Nottingham overall (to date!) as a forever Nottingham local. Myself and my partner visit regularly, particularly for the unbeatable platters, shawarmas and grilled meats. Service is brilliant and wait times are perfectly within reason. The tea is fantastic also. Visiting tonight so I thought I’d bless them up with a worthy review after years of visits. A must-visit Turkish restaurant for sure.

They over charged them over the food and the family enquired why the amount was so high in comparison to the menu they were looking at, they refused to pay so the staff and owner proceeded by telling them that they are not allowed to leave. The family tried to leave and a staff member ordered the other staff to go get Knives in order to stop them from leaving. The family mortified as one of the staff even started pulling on the mothers arm. I'm not going to go in more details you can find it on the news,you should all be ashamed but then again I'm not surprised you do the same things in your country. Your fellow greek, never put my family in danger.👋🏼

No restaurant near by comes close to the taste, quality and value of Tipoo. It's nearly always busy for a reason.

I came here yesterday with a few friends and waited by the sign that said “please wait here” For 15 minutes we waited. We were extremely patient and workers kept on walking past us. At first I thought it was because it was busy but when I looked around and saw a worker who was available just look at us i immediately knew why we were not approached and greeted. Not one worker said “bare with us we will seat you shortly” they just kept walking past as if we were not there. I don’t pull the race card but whilst waiting I looked around and we did not look like everyone that was eating and so gives me more reason to believe that we simply experienced racial discrimination due to being discretely denied service on a subtle level. So we simply just left and went to a better restaurant where service was 10/10. To the owner you should be ashamed with yourself and your staff. Everyone is extremely disrespectful but what goes around does come around so not phased really.

Me and my part love Tipoo, Tipoo Restaurant always be no 1 restaurant for me and my husband our Favourite Restaurant in any occasion, we always choose Tipoo. The quality of the become more delicious by time. I can never say no when it's comes to Tipoo. The food is extremely amaziinnnggggggg delicious. We have tried every single menu in the Tipoo. We go 4 or 5 times in a year we go Tipoo every year. If we don't dine in, we will order and collect it from the restaurant. We never face any problem or missing items. Our favourite menu is Izara Platter and Jumbo platter. Not like certain restaurants, the food still tastes exactly the same even you eat at home. This is what we love about tipoo. We fall in love with the food. They serve the HIGH QUALITY FOOD. Every menu omg so delicious. The meat is so fresh you can tell by the colour of the meat the taste of the meat its freeesshhhhhhh. Congratulations to the staff for their friendliness and to the chef for his superb cooking. I wish you guys continue success in the future because you earned it. Also, thank you to all your staff for the cleanliness, We highly appreciate it with much respect. The best thing is we don't have to go to Turkey, to eat delicious Turkish food. Tipoo makes us feel like we are in Turkey! The portion is amazing, The price is affordable and I highly recommend Tipoo restaurant for 1 person, a couple or as a family. At the new management for restaurant of their meat changed, we eat there three times and got sick, and they not serving halal meat. They bring the smelly Iyran I told them this is lik fish tank smell they said because you drink some of that you must pay for it They said because you try to get discounts for £4 for ayran and I said the problem is not £4 and paid them £60 for ther bill wich was £54 and left them back one portion food wich I was paid them in full the staff was unprofessional and so rude

We went there on the basis of reviews and it was so amazing. Enjoyed the food alot, prices are very reasonable. We ordered jumbo platter and it was more than enough for 6 people we even took some food away with us. Buklava was just OK but Kunefe was so delicious and tempting.

We are in the city for a Reunion of Royal Nzvy Chefs, and we found this restaurant by chance, and what a wonderful experience, the Food was colorful Fresh and very tasty, and well worth it, a great atmosphere with all ages enjoying the evening, the staff were very attentative to people's needs, and at no point did I see any of them checking their phones. Highly Recomended by a chef.

We went with friend to enjoy today evening. We order tippy player things for 2 person they haven’t got rice at all and food was incomplete according to food menu. Even they are not deserve 1 star . Food was very bad had very bad experience . I would Attched picture to check where is rice and food was not complete according to food menu. Left over they serve us. after a long uphill walk from near Nottingham train station i was pleased to reach here and was pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant was crowded suggesting good food and was not disappointed when i ordered Tipoo 1 i think it was called, appropriately cooked meat not burnt and juicy enough to make walk well worth it.

Horrible service I had to literally wait for 30 min for my food to arrive and with hungry kids who haven’t had lunch imagine… the staff there wasn’t even minding us. I had an issue with one of my order and I had to speak to 3 different people to get it sorted. Food not worth the hype I have had better food in different restaurants like Kervan sofrasi. I wouldn’t be coming again

we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Tipoo Turkish Restaurant. The delicious food, cosy atmosphere, and friendly service make it a great place to try authentic Turkish cuisine in Nottingham.

I walk past this place very often and every single time I see it packed - even on a Monday at 3pm its still busy. So we wanted to see what the hype was about and it definitely lived up to it. Our bill came to £46 for 3 people, including a drink and starter and massive plates of food that left us feeling stuffed - we had to take some away! We couldn't believe how affordable it was. The menu had a large selection and all of our meals were delicious. The houmous also came alongside tzatziki, salsa, an aubergine dish and a big basket of bread which was a very pleasant surprise and was very yummy - thoroughly enjoyed. Service was also very quick and staff were very friendly. The only thing worth noting is that it's quite bright inside and doesn't have nice mood lighting like most restaurants which some people may find off putting and it was very loud in there as there were a lot of families and children. But overall, we loved it and will be coming back.

First time visiting this place. Upon arrival with it being Ramadhan it was very busy. We were given well aged kajoor (dates) which appeared like theh had been kept in the cellar for a few years. Didn't take long to be seated. Had the lamachun as a starter which was nice. For the main had the Jumbo platter which was disappointing the chops were flavourless chewy and cold. The ribs barley had anything on them. The staff were very rude and the little fat chap with the hat on who must have been the boss was very arrogant and disrespectful. Avoid and go elsewhere

Very bad service. Rude personnel. I am coming here for years now. Very disappointed. No trace of hospitality. Only the new personnel, they are doing their best unfortunately they are replaced. The old supervisors and old people personnel still rude, still no customer service, still bad attitude displayed. A change in old personnel must be considered. Many, many times I eat in this restaurant and many times my ayran is forgotten. No sauce is offered, the food portions are smaller and smaller. The feta salad is tiny now. The shawarma plate is reduced. What is happening with Turkish Hospitality? Please make the place as it used to be.

Best Turkish food out there, you won't be disappointed

It’s not my first time at Tipo and all time the staff is amazing. I have an issue with my son who broke a plate there and the staff was really very nice and helpful and tried their best to calm my son. Jasmine and Sophia are really cheerful , nice & so kind. The food is amazing as usual and very delicious, we had platter for 4, burger and Kunafa and all are amazing. Highly recommended.
