Tipoo in Nottingham

It is the first time I have visited this restaurant and was as usual not sure what to expect, from the start as I arrived early the staff were very attentive and asked if I would like a drink while I waited, once my friends arrived the service was quick, we tried lots of different dishes and then had a main course. You also had bread and humous and other dips on plates that were complimentary, the food was cooked to perfection and I had just enough. I will definitely be visiting again but with my family this time and think it is a really nice atmosphere and the staff are amazing, especially the lady that made me feel really welcome.

I have never seen a restaurant so full all the time. We only had to wait 5 minutes as they don’t take bookings. It was full of families being families not an iPad or phone in sight. The food was fantastic everyone agreed, so fresh and delicious. When the bill came I thought it was wrong because it was such good value. The service was good and all the staff were rushed off their feet but they never stopped all night. It was great to see a restaurant so buzz but not full of Christmas parties just full of families enjoying quality time and food.

Food veg and non veg was excellent. Service excellent. Atmosphere wonderful, dessert heavenly! Mezze hot or cold excellent! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to taste a real fresh food .

Incredible Authentic Turkish Cuisine. 💯 recommended and we would not go anywhere else than here. Well worth waiting to get a table for such beautiful food. We had the Meze Platter for 4 people (2 x couples) absolutely amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

My daughter is severely autistic and the staff noticed and came to help us straight away as she was quite distressed. They offered to turn the music off and to sit us in on a different table where it was more quiet. The food was also incredible. Thank you so much we will definitely be returning and would recommend a visit to anyone!!

Sunday evening, 10th August, did not book soon seated free turkish bread with hummus & tomato dip. Quick look at the menu, easy platter for two, fries & two tins of pop, food well delicious 😋

The guy who was either the manager or owner at Tipoo discriminated against my partner by refusing to allow her access with her guide dog. I informed him that it is against UK law to refuse access to guide dogs. He replied that he "understand" that but refused entry anyway. I would never go to this restaurant again and would advise that anyone who objects to disability discrimination to go to Bosphorus across the road instead. We went to Bosphorus and they were very welcoming to us and the guide dog. The food at Bosphorus was delicious.

Excellent food and service , really fresh we had the mixed platter for two and it was delicious fresh bread and hummus to start the grilled meats on a bed of rice and bulgar wheat with salad 10/10

I hear the food is very good here, but I sadly I did not get to find out. I was given the task of finding kunefe for a group of 10 ESOL students, as it was their last day of college. So, I searched the whole of Nottingham and eventually found out that Tipoo served the dish. I called the restaurant to ask how I would need to order and asked for advice on how many to order. The advice given wasn't the best and it was suggested that I went to the restaurant to discuss and order for takeaway. When I got to the restaurant the person the served me was seemed very annoyed when I asked if I could see the size of the kunefe so I could decide how many to get. I said that I just wanted to give a small piece to 10 people, so maybe 2 or 3 kunefe would be enough. I was very angrily told 1 is only enough for 1 person, suggesting I buy 10. I went across the road to Bosphorus. They told me that 3 would be enough for everyone to have a quarter with some to spare. The lady that serves me also explained how to reheat the kunefe before I was ready to serve it and that she had asked the chef to package all of the syrup and other toppings separately for me to add myself. While waiting I was offered some samples of the other things on the Bosphorus menu and some Turkish tea. The moral of this story... Go to Bosphorus instead of Tipoo.

We came to Nottingham for the weekend our 1st visit,Booked a table over the phone as it was my partners Birthday, reviews on T/A were good,food was lovely only had a main course as there was no atmosphere, we felt over dressed ( we should of kept in our jeans/sweatshirt) no alcohol which I couldn't see anything on there website about this(I know some Turkish restaurants don't sell this but....) wanted to charge us 15% extra on bill if we popped over the the Rd to get a bottle. Nice place if you want a quick bite before going home but not for a Saturday night romantic meal.

Great Food, Great Staff, but horrible management. You will enjoy the food and the staff are helpful. Be ready not to return anything even if it had problems. You will be faced with a belligerent manager that would accuse you of not knowing what you are eating. We ordered a Halloumi Salad, it included avocadoes, but these came very unripe and inedible. We returned the dish and did not get a replacement. We were surprised that it was included in the bill. After raising it with the manager, he claimed at first the slalad did not contain avocadoes. then he started naming the contents of the salad and he mentioned avocadoes. We informed him that these were not edible as they were hard and we showed him a piece. He said that no one has returned it before, he went on the attack that since we returned the dish he cannot serve it any longer. As if that was not in violation of any acceptable health protocols. Simply said, go there when he is not on service, for my family that was my last visit to that restaurant.

Use this restaurant on a regular basis, always a warm welcome from the staff , great atmosphere and beautiful lighting , the food is plentiful and always delicious.

We're from St ives in Cornwall where we are spoilt for choice when it comes to really good food . Looking for a decent place to eat ,in Nottingham was a challenge.....we eventually came across this place ,I have to say everyone was pleasant and very helpful, food was cooked fresh ,full of flavour and as it should be ....Really nice Turkish food ,no frills ,just flavourful and decent sized portions. Not expensive both of us ate till we were full for less than £40. Great place .thanks .

Have been coming here for years. Food marinaded and cooked over charcoal. The guys do this all day, every day so each time it's perfect. The heat is very high so you get that textured well cooked outside and beautiful tender meat inside, lamb, chicken or fish. Each dish comes as a whole meal and service comes as standard. Staff are friendly but it's busy and frantic, good for parties not for dates. No alcohol.

Been here a good few times now and is always 10/10. Food is insane, some of the best you can get in Nottingham. Lamb shish, bulgur, Lahmacun, chicken doner, homemade tzatziki and garlic sauce all deserve a special mention. Amazing value for such high quality food. Service is always friendly and fast too. No complaints from us, we will see you again very soon. Thank you!

I eat here quite often and always have the same lamb chops and chips. My husband always has a kofte kebap. Then we have a Turkish coffee or two. You know exactly what you're going to get - very good value, basic Turkish cafe food....

Cold food and staff forgot to get us cutlery and bring us drinks that we had asked for. It was really full and busy there didn’t seem enough staff on the floor for the amount of people dining.

For the first time we decided to visit Nottingham and try out the famous Tipoo the food was horrible . We ordered starters and main a nice selection one item was nice and standard the lahmachun everything was tasteless . The special sauce they served tasted like milk and water mixed with ketchup. Yuck . The mains and starters all came out together when we asked specifically we wanted the starters first and mains later we asked them to take the mains back so the starters didn’t get cold. After 10mins we hadn’t finished the waiter came back and said you have to eat it now we can’t keep it for you any longer it was almost like we were being forced to eat the food it was awful. It felt like they were rushing us to leave we paid good money for the food bill came to £70 . We asked politely again please give us time they were not having any of it. We had no option but to pack the food and leave we didn’t feel comfortable there. The waitress who took the order was really nice her name was shree she went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated but I saw the way she was being treated by the Managment, bossing her about she had a smile on her face. We gave her a tip but was told she won’t be getting any of it felt bad for her . Overall Shree’s service was good and the best thing about the restaurant was the flowers and the mirror in the toilet . We won’t be visiting again. Really disappointed

I have never ordered/ eaten Turkish food from anywhere other than Tipoo for years now despite the competition (Bhosporus, Istanbul, Rakki Rakkas etc). I was VERY disappointed when we ordered take away to see that the portions have halved if not more!The large lamb doner NEVER came with the rice inside box. It was always a big box full of meat (and salad if you ordered). Rice was always in a separate box if ordered (choice is between nan or chips). Today over half the box was filled with rice. The Sutlac was again a full box of dessert. Today I found a tiny clay pot inside the dessert box!This is shocking, and to know that the prices have been increased as well (Sutlac used to be £2.50 or so just over a year ago. You have lost a customer Tipoo. I would happily drive to Leicester if I have to (Konak) or go to Rakki Rakkas but never again from you.

The food was amazing. The best grilled platters and doner kabab in Nottingham. Great atmosphere, and friendly staff! Options for every taste and preference with Halal options. Would be even better if delivery was available. Thank you for the amazign food and great experience. We had fun!

I travel 24 mile to collect a good proper kebab take out. Everything is fresh cooked and always good. And the food is consistent always the same. GOOD

Guy with beard who greeted us wears mask completely under his chin the whole time. Asked him to wear it properly which he did for 5 mins then regularly came to table with it down again.All other staff wear mask below nose and bend over you to clean table between courses. I’d rather they left it dirty and didn’t breath over us.Only one member of staff (slim bloke) actually wore a mask the whole time.I know at least 4 people have reported them to the council (including me) so I hope they get a warning soon.

Cuando llegamos por primera vez nos preguntaron si habíamos reservado una mesa, les dijimos que no y les explicamos que habíamos llamado antes y la persona del teléfono nos dijo que no necesitábamos reservar. El miembro del personal luego se fue y nos dejó de pie en la puerta durante 10 a 15 minutos, sin explicaciones. Luego, un miembro del personal diferente nos atendió y nos preguntó si necesitábamos una mesa, y nos sentó de inmediato. Una mujer más joven vino a tomar nuestro pedido, con su máscara solo cubriendo su boca y no su nariz. Luego se inclinó hacia nuestra mesa muy cerca de nosotros y anotó nuestro pedido. . no muy bueno dado el clima actual!Mientras esperábamos la comida, parecía que los miembros del personal (principalmente los más jóvenes) estaban discutiendo entre sí, señalando groseramente a grupos de clientes (creo que estaban discutiendo sobre las mesas), lo cual es completamente poco profesional y arruinó el ambiente. La comida llegó y era absolutamente deliciosa, ¡no me puedo quejar!Cuando se trataba de pagar, nos dijeron (dos mujeres jóvenes) que la máquina de tarjetas no funcionaba y que una de nosotras tenía que cruzar la calle y sacar algo de dinero. Aunque habíamos visto a alguien pagar con tarjeta 5 minutos antes, no pensamos mucho en eso. Mientras mi amigo estaba recibiendo efectivo, vi una mesa frente a nosotros pagar con tarjeta. ! ! Entiendo que pueden ocurrir dificultades técnicas, pero sospechaba un poco y estaba preocupado por mi amiga que había salido a buscar dinero en efectivo sola en un área que no conoce bastante tarde en la noche. Regresó y vio que la gente estaba pagando con tarjeta y que ella era la única a la que enviaban a sacar dinero en efectivo. Estábamos extremadamente irritados y no recibimos ni una disculpa por habernos hecho un lío.

Si pudiera, pondría 0. Hemos sido clientes durante años desde antes de que tuvieran la extensión. Les llamé hace más de un mes para reservar una mesa para mi cumpleaños, tomaron mi reserva y les pregunté precisamente si podíamos tener una mesa en el lado antiguo del restaurante cerca de la ventana y en el teléfono me dijo. no hay problema, luego los llamé nuevamente el miércoles pasado para ver si podíamos cambiar a 2 mesas una cerca de la otra, me dijeron nuevamente que no hay problema. Anoche fuimos allí, no había mesa reservada para nosotros, no tenían nada disponible en el lado antiguo del restaurante, le explico todo a la camarera, pero a ella simplemente no le importaba, nos pusieron cerca de la salida donde teníamos mucho frío. porque cada 5 segundos alguien se iba. Hicimos nuestro pedido y le pedí amablemente al camarero que nos trajera un poco de pan extra con nuestro plato principal que se dijo que no había problema. Nuestro plato principal llegó (bandejas para compartir) sin pan extra, no trajeron platos, así que la comida se estaba enfriando y estábamos tratando de llamar la atención de una camarera para que nos trajera algunos platos y una cuchara para el arroz. Logramos conseguir los platos y la cuchara y le pedí una porción de chuletas de cordero que al final nunca obtuvimos (buen trabajo al final todos estaban llenos con el plato principal que pedimos, pero si realmente quisiera las chuletas de cordero lo haríamos) nunca las he comprado porque la camarera se las pidió al chef. Pedimos una coca-cola y le tomó 15 minutos traerla. Mi sobrino quería otra ribena, así que le pedí a una mesera que nunca nos trajo una, después de 20 minutos de esperar, le preguntamos a otro camarero que nos trajera uno. Toda la noche ha sido una pesadilla intentar pedirle a la mesera / mesero los platos, cucharas y bebidas que simplemente no les importaban. Entiendo que estaban ocupados pero yo trabajo en abasteciendo a mí mismo y ocupado o no siempre me ocupo de mis clientes, en cambio, sentí que la mesera / mesero no me importaba en absoluto para nosotros los clientes que pagamos. Hemos sido clientes durante años, pero desde que hicieron la extensión, el lugar se ha derrumbado realmente, el personal sigue cambiando a menudo y simplemente no les importa sobre los clientes. Esta no es la primera vez que tenemos problemas en este restaurante porque el personal no se ocupa de los clientes y si tengo que ir a un restaurante para tratar de obtener un servicio decente, prefiero ir a otro lado.

Dejan la comida en el mostrador que los clientes usan para pagar las edades. Como estaba ocupado, innumerables clientes respiraban sobre la comida. Cuando cuestioné esto debido a covid. El personal dijo '¿Por qué comer fuera si estás preocupado por el covid? No puedo hacer nada' ¿Qué pasó con las precauciones de seguridad? El cordero estaba duro y masticable.

Vine hoy 21/8/2020 para pedir una comida para llevar con mi socio. Pedimos la cena de chuletas de cordero, esperamos la comida y la recogimos solo para llegar a casa, que está a unos 5 minutos en automóvil desde el restaurante para encontrar papas fritas que han sido re-fritas, ¡así que están aceitosas y duras! ! . Las patatas fritas estaban tan duras y secas que estropeó nuestra cena. No hemos tenido una comida de Tipoo desde el cierre, así que estábamos emocionados solo de que nos sirvieran una comida decepcionante. No pudimos comer la comida. Tiramos 26 comida. Para el chef que volvió a freír las patatas fritas y nos las sirvió, qué vergüenza por un servicio tan atroz.

First visit and very busy. The food was excellent, fresh and very tasty. Really good selection of food, desserts and drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend.

Teníamos muchas ganas de ir a almorzar aquí. Aparentemente tiene buenas críticas e interior. Llegamos y tuvimos que pararnos afuera para esperar a que nos sentaran. No hay problema. Varias camareras nos miraron y pasaron junto a nosotros, pero nadie nos reconoció. Después de 5 minutos, una mesera dijo "un minuto" y se fue y nunca regresó. En cambio, fuimos a Estambul al otro lado de la calle. El servicio fue delicioso y la comida DELICIOSA.

Fuimos hoy al restaurante tepo en Nottingham, y nos decepcionó mucho, la comida era muy mala, toda mi familia y yo sufrimos de dolor de estómago. la cantidad de comida era muy pequeña según 4 personas.No como lo que describen, muy poca cantidad de arroz y burgule, las ovejas viejas no son nada buenas. En general, todo era como una pesadilla. #Juré que no visitaré este restaurante en toda mi vida.

The food is amazing with a great choice - lovely venue and seems to be always busy, lovely helpful staff all eager to please, they also do a takeaway service which was also very busy.

I’d heard good things about Tippoo’s, and from the outside, and how busy it was I couldn’t wait to try their food. The reality was quite different. I ordered the chicken skewers, my wife the lamb, and neither were great, in fact we had to throw them away. The meats weren’t succulent, they lacked any real flavour, and the meat was stringy. It was a real shame, because I had hoped for an authentic Turkish experience, instead I felt like I’d had a dodgy kebab from the local van!

We went to tipu Turkish restaurant on Saturday night.The food took a while to come out and we had ordered the same, chicken tikka lamb tikka mixed grill with chips and salad.We started eating and I bit a piece of lamb and instantly spat it back out. The chicken was fine but the lamb had clearly gone off. I asked my wife to try hers and she instantly felt sick.Now this can happen and normally easily rectified. I called the waiter and he said he couldn't help, I spoke to the chef, and asked him to try a bit and he said he couldn't do anything either and called the manager. The manager was extremely rude and abrupt and refused to help. His justification was that no other customer had complained that day so it couldn't be bad, he went on to say they have never received a complaint.His demeanour was unacceptable and we didn't touch the lamb.My wife came home and was vomiting quite badly.We will never go back.It was his attitude that lost us as customers.

We came here after reading the good reviews, it was packed so we were lucky to get a table. Mixed grill was ordered and the chicken was so succulent and juicy, it melted in the mouth, will be returning for sure. The prices are very reasonable too

Have been to this Restaurant couple of times. Food is very delicious & yummy. we had ordered chops the sizes were small and only 4 chops were served. portions are getting smaller than what we got last time. Service is excellent. Staff are good and helpful. Need definitely book a table on occasions. Would highely recommend this restaurant.

We visited on New Year’s Eve at around 6.30pm. It was very busy, we suggest that you book a table. We had a platter for 4 which was great value. The free bread and dips were lovely. It isn’t licensed, but you can take your own booze if you want to. A great family atmosphere and freshly cooked tasty food. Probably the best value meal that we had all year! Will definitely be back.

Good food at affordable price. pleasant atmosphere. service is ok. Visited twice and each time main course was served while eating starters. Anyway food is good. I will recommend following: Lahmacun, Grilled SeaBass, Tipoo mix platter. And lamb chops.

Reservamos para una mesa de 15 la noche anterior. Cuando llegamos allí, ¡nos dijeron que no había una mesa suficiente para acomodar a las 15 personas completas que la mitad de nuestra gente tuvo que ponerse de pie! ! . El servicio era muy pobre ya que le pedimos al camarero que aumentara la calefacción ya que hacía mucho frío y él respondió "solo 2 o 3 calentadores no funcionan". La comida no se cocinó al mejor nivel, se nota fácilmente que la comida no se cocinó fresca y parecía que se volvió a calentar.

Amazing food. However, they just couldn't get right the basic amount of plates, cups, cutlery needed for a party of 11. It was prebooked, however arriving at the table it only had cutlery for 9. We repeatedly had to ask for cups, plates cutlery and were given cold looks of disdain. But when you are paying & 180.00 for 1 meal at least provide good service. It's put me off and will be going elsewhere.

I’d been to this restaurant before and loved the food, so I visited again with some friends on my recommendation.

Ok starting with the title. Yes it’s top and the food is great but sadly the service stops it being 5 star. Seems like this place is very popular and busy which is understand as the food is great. Bags of flavour and taste. The side salad for the dishes could do with sprucing up but really it’s the mains you come for. Sadly being busy means the staff as super busy so you can find at times wondering whether you are invisible as it’s impossible to get their attention.

This restaurant offers good food. Really delicious food but they really need to work on waiting. The staff is out of control. You even miss the basics on the table like glasses, cutlery and plates. You need to ask for things 2 or 3 times. Shame.

I frequently eat at Tipoo as their standard of food & service is always on point.

Después de ordenar nos dijeron que tomaría 25 minutos preparar el pedido, esperar 53 minutos para un pedido para llevar y varios recordatorios intermedios, nos dijeron que no sabían cuándo estaría listo y cuando se les pidió una explicación, El gerente grosero e ignorante respondió que "puedes ver que estamos ocupados" para entonces, mi esposo alzó la voz y pidió la devolución del dinero por hora.

Go to this place regular with friends and solo and have done for years. Brilliant Turkish food and friendly staff. A must go place to sit down or take away

Visited this amazing local restaurant on Sunday teatime. The place was buzzing and almost full. Friends of ours had recommended it so we thought we would give it a try & i can honestly say the food and service are amazing. Lovely to see whole familys out eating together,couples and groups of friends. We ordered a meat platter at £28 between 4 of us with a couple of side dishes. We had breads and dips to start. This place is amazing value for money. They dont sell alcohol but to be honest the whole focus was on eating our food, never heard us so quiet ha ha! It certainly is a Turkish delight. Cant wait for a return visit

Fuimos para una comida familiar. Mi hija tiene alergias, así que pedimos pollo simple. Salió un simple pincho de pollo con 6 trozos de pollo del tamaño de un dado. Tenía la cuenta y cobraron 7 sí 7 por un pincho pequeño. No hay lados. Sin ensalada 7 por 6 pequeños trozos de pollo sobre cocido.

Even coming here for years and having the same meal which is the mixed platter me and my partner share it every time now since the new bit has been built the portions are smaller plus the service is slower seem to be going off this place slowly and have since tried a new Turkish restaurant around the corner and are very happy with it

My Nick name is Tipoo so whilst coming back from Skygness the family surprised me dinner here , ordered the family platter it was full enough for 5 of us with variety of items , salads , homus , and couple of other cold starters included , food was served fresh and nice environment as well , will go there again

The bread here is to die for, as is the hummus. We always have a great meal here and the service is so friendly. We also like to eat late at night and love the chilled atmosphere. It’s casual.

This is the 2nd time I have visited this restaurant. I decided to come back with my friend for a girlie catchup. We visited on a Saturday night it was really busy so glad we has booked ahead as there were people waiting for a table. I had the chicken wings with chips and salad all very tasty and filling too. For 2 meals and drinks it cost less than £20. It was a great night out and I would definitely recommend.

Food was amazing.... staff quite rude hard to actually get there attention. Time to pay we were told we couldn't pay by card they had reached their limit... yet many tables around us were paying by card.

Called in here tonight for a meal and was not disappointed at all, food very good as was the service, attentive but not overly so. Will definitely be back.

Really nice turkish food. I had ribs with salad and this was one of the best i have had in a while. Will come back.

Visité hoy con mi hermano para variar. Hay mucha competencia en Alfreton Road, pero de todas ellas esta es la mejor. Me gusta la carne, me encanta el shawarma, así que naturalmente fui con el combo de shawarma con chips. El cordero donner es delicioso, piezas de carne discernibles reales. Mi hermano tenía cordero y el cordero. Los cubitos de cordero estaban deliciosamente tiernos!

El servicio era un poco extraño. Nos sentamos nos tomaron nuestro pedido. Los entrantes estaban mal para los dos. Entrante de berenjena en lugar de hummus y cebo blanco sin la salsa de ajo. Luego, antes de que hubiéramos terminado, llegaron los platos principales y la mesa era demasiado pequeña. Además, nos dieron un lado del arroz que nos dijeron que teníamos que decirles lo que queríamos cuando hicimos el pedido. De todos modos, más puntos por cambiarlo por nosotros, el menú podría ser una aclaración. En esencia, se sentía como si todavía estuviera siendo administrado como un segundo restaurante de comida para llevar, a pesar de su enorme extensión al lado.

Called in here on a Friday evening and it was really busy. Great atmosphere and great service. Food was delicious and 2 courses follows by a turkish coffee was less than £20 each.

Yo y uno de mi amigo fuimos a buscar nuestro almuerzo. Estábamos cerca de ese lugar. Una chica estaba tomando nuestro pedido. El kebab de donante mixto era horrible y la carne vieja, especialmente la carne roja y el arroz y el curry de carne para mi amigo, él mismo decía. la carne es vieja, no solo las preguntas que hicimos sobre la comida que ella dio vuelta y le preguntó a un chico su nombre (kazem) vistió una blusa blanca mientras actuaba como un chef, no era nada parecido a ser un chef grosero de la forma en que respondía La niña estaba muy ocupada para cortar el pan y tirarlos en el horno. Su lenguaje corporal decía que no esperan mucho porque estoy trabajando gratis. ! ! ! el propietario de este lugar probablemente piense que la gente come interior y él alimenta sillas y una pared brillante con mesa para la gente. ¿A quién le importa si su lugar se ve bien pero su comida horrible y cara?

4 of us went to dine in today, we ordered ch tikka and chips. We were given rice instead. We kindly asked the waitress to change our food. We were given a small portion of chips between the 4 of us and still had to eat the rice . We were then approached by a waitress who tried to correct what we had said, even though we specifically told her chips. However the ch tikka was good as usual.

Extended recently. Buzzing restaurant with quality food every visit. Decent sized menu. Yummy homemade bread. Quality grilled meat, pizzas and side dishes. This place has definitely fired my love for Turkish food.

It was 5 of us and we had a great time the staff knew exactly how to talk to customers and had a bit of joke with us the food was alright the only draw back was that the lamb chops didn't have much lamb on them but other wise the food tasted great.

Great to get a tasty and relatively healthy Kebab. The quality of the meat is great and I dont feel like I am eating a cheap kebab at all when having anything from here. I have never eaten in but always think that I should as it is well decorated and is always busy when I come to pick up my food.

We went to Tipoo on the recommendation of friends and it did not disappoint. It wasn’t that busy when we went and so the food came out piping hot. The flavours were amazing and there is so much to choose from. We would recommend the lamb kofta and also the Turkish flatbread pide - both very good. The only thing just to be aware of is that they only accept cash (but there is a cash point just across the road).

came here with some friends and it was the best turkish food ive had, the ribs were a bit dry but apart from that everything else very nice and seemed fresh.

The mixed grill was lovely, the meat was tender and juicy. My favourites were the spicy sausage (sucuck) and cheese filled pastry (sigara boregi). the atmosphere is nice and chilled and the two ladies who serviced us were helpful and friendly. I had a Turkish coffee to start with which is small but packs a punch!

I visited my friend in Nottingham from London and we decided to try Tipoo as it was not far from where she lives we liked the decor as soon as we walked in and the polite staff, the food was so tasty and fresh. We had such a good time.

First time to a Turkish Restaurant and wasn't disappointed. The food was amazing and there were lots of it. The bread basket was so good we had to have more and everything was freshly cooked with great flavours. We were allowed to drink our own drinks and were supplied beautiful wine glasses which was a nice touch. Will definitely re-visit it was great value for money and a relaxed atmosphere.

The food was lovely! It’s different to what most other restaurants offer and has made me love Turkish food and culture. I ordered a platter to try a variety of food and all of it was delicious, even the rice which is good since rice is often served plain.

We had the tipoo mixed platter for two. It was good with chicken cooked two ways and lamb also two ways. Served with rice, salad and yummy flat bread. Whilst waiting flat bread and humus and a salsa were complimentary and a lovely way to start the meal. For £10 a head it was a good amount of food. Enjoy

Had the pleasure of visiting this place for lunch during a weekend trip to Nottingham with friends.

We went to this restaurant after recommendation from friends, and entered the restaurant in which staff were very friendly seating us and being polite and respectful during the entire experience.

Booked a table for sunday. Walked in and stood there 10 minutes and no one came to us.Had to ask behind the bar about our booking. Finally got to our table. No one took our order for drink for half an hour. So we ordered food at the same time. Starters came with our mains, and the food was average at best. Chicken was dry and chewy. After being in there for 2 hours was glad to get out. Brought us the bill and took us payment very quickly though. Would i go back ? NEVER

I went to open my fast with my friend. Though they were busy, there were still many tables that were free. Me and my friend waited 15 minutes to be seated bearing in mind there was no que and tables were also available. The staff kept waddling from one end of the restaurant to the other but avoiding to seat us. We were finally seated after approaching staff third time. 10 minutes were left for the fast breaking however the table they seated us on was dirty and when we asked for it to get cleaned the lady sprayed the table right in our face. I asked her to provide complimentary dates as all customers were being given them due to month of ramadan and needed to open my fast otherwise it would become invalid. It took them another 20 minutes to get me a date and place my order which they also tried avoiding. I hd to ask them to take our order 7 times. Twice i had to go to the counter too. After our order being placed, i order the dish of the day which consisted of meat. The order of the day was ready and i could see it through the counter glass as it was an open kitchen restaurant and so expected my food to arrive quickly however it took 40 minutes for my food to arrive. This was well over an hour since we had arrived and an hour after the fast had been opened. Throughout this whole process the staff was incredibly rude and we felt like a burden to be there. We were constantly ignored and knocked into by the staff when seated as they were trying to walk behind our chairs to serve other customers. When i tried the food, i was horrified. I had waited this long to take a bite into a chunk of rock solid cold meat that had chunks of fat on it. I almost chocked on it and so asked to change my dish. First i was rudely refused, and after getting a little angry they offered to “warm it up” i refused because i was put off by the dish at this point. They said they would not change my dish and took it away and so i refused to pay. 20 minutes had gone by since my food had been taken away and no communication was made in between. Knowing i had been fasting they did not bring any food to me, and when we asked for the bill they tried charging me for the same food that they had taken away from me. I was beyond shocked that they expected me to pay for something so terrible and something that i didnt even it and something which they had taken away. After they were not allowing us to leave amd had guarded the door as if we had been held hostage. I was shocked, angry but at the same time found it so bizzare and funny that they were expecting me to pay for something they didnt even let me eat. After seeing that other customers were also complaining and had the same issue the chefs and staff began arguing with one another in their own language. This was incredibly unprofessional as they began shouting across at diners in the restaurant pointing fingers at them and telling the staff to bring the food back. I have never in my life experienced such awful service it was worse than a gordon ramsay kitchen nightmare experience. After seeing that i wasn’t the only one who was unhappy with their food and service i stood by my decision to not pay and left, following other customers.
