Room was nice, Calamari tasty. What made me give 5 starts is the exceptional service from ADAM. He introduced himself from the start, outlined the soup and the items they had run out of. Very friendly and excellent customer service.

Didn’t have a starter so expected a wait. But nearly an hour later and two remanders to staff will still hadn’t got our meal. When it came it wasn’t as per the menu. Yes they didn’t charge us for the main course but come on guys just get your act together. We love premier inns but we won’t eat here again. Up here for a five night stay-will definitely be eating out for the rest of the stay.

Restaurant is pleasant with nice staff. However the quality and quantity of the food has deteriorated considerably. It also takes a very long time to come. If it wasn’t so handy for the airport this restaurant would struggle.

Attached to the Premier Inn , the menu is based on steak , chicken , texmex and similar. Service is professional , the prices very reasonable - look for some of the deals and the food very tasty. Do not expect fine dining - just a well cooked plate of something comforting.

Stayed at the adjoining PI. Nice airy restaurant with lots of space between the tables. Food as usual was good with some new items on the menu. Staff friendly and helpful.

We were staying at Premier Inn on Newcastle Quays and visited the Thyme next door and we were really impressed with our food and with the service. All of the staff were really friendly. The prices were reasonable. It was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The help yourself breakfast was brilliant. We also had an evening meal which we were pleased with. It's in a lovely position overlooking the river on The Quay. One small criticism is that we had to tell the lady that the coke in the bacardi was flat. She just said that she wood see to it but didn't offer to change the drink for us.

Had a pizza here one evening, it was average, nothing to write home about. The haddock was a little on the dry side, but it was in a great location. Staff very friendly and helpful, and service pretty quick

Service was impeccable but my vegetarian sweet potato lasagne was just awful - no sweet potato or feta cheese in sight and the pasta was hard and indigestible. After a long wait this was very disappointing.

This restaurant is level access. Ramp to tables. Some seating on a padded bench style seating, most tables and chairs. I need more support so padded bench is ideal for me. Order at bar. Table service. Our starters were lovely, prawn cocktail was perfect and just enough sauce and bread. Also got butter for the bread, something many places forget! Sirloin steak was lovely, juicy and the peppercorn sauce was ok. I think I'll try the garlic butter next time. The chips were lovely. Pudding for me was cheese and crackers which is perfect. Something you can eat in or take away and eat in your hotel room. Staff are very friendly and helpful and I recommend this restaurant!

Having driven up from York during the Beast from the East weather we had no inclination to drive any further for our evening meal. I am not a fan of pub food so wasn't really looking forward to the gastric experience. What a surprise to find a diverse menu with 600 calories and less offerings. My husband had a curry that was beautifully presented - portions of chicken breast in bread crumbs served over rice with a curry sauce over and a small side salad. I has the fiery noodles with chicken. Both were tasty and filling. We would definitely eat there again! The reason for not giving an overall rating of 5 is because we were quite pecking and they don't start taking orders unroll 18.00.

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this restaurant and it's food. The staff are up to the normal high standards of Premier Inn, but the food was way above the normal "pub grub" supplied at the Brewer's fayre chain usually associated with them. Wine a little expensive, but meals excellent pricing and quality, with a good variety.

It's a hotel bar so it's never going to have the best atmosphere but we ended up in here once or twice as we were staying in the hotel and I have to say that the staff were just great. They were always full of chat, asking where you had been or if you'd had a good day. It's very rare to get chat like that in any bars in big cities now so it was nice. The drinks are reasonably priced too.

Staying in the hotel I decided to eat dinner in the restaurant. Meal deal of two courses, plus drink, plus breakfast about £23. Good value.Baked Camembert was nice to find and rare enough anywhere that isn't French. Monster build your own pizza! Tasty

We were staying here before flying from the airport the next day and have eaten here before so booked in for dinner. The food was beautiful as always and the service 1st class. When we got to the bar we were informed it was 2 for 1 on all drinks which was a really good offer and we made good use of it!I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will eat here again when we fly from Newcastle in September.

Louise served us and was brilliant. We were staying in the hotel for 2 nights and the first evening we decided to grab dinner there. We were told about a deal they had which got us 2 courses, a drink and breakfast for 23! Fantastic! The free drinks weren't the best but hey they're free! Louise was so helpful and friendly, genuinely caring that her customers had what they needed, offering water for the table and asking what sauces we needed before our meals arrived. The breakfast was great the following day even though they had run out of everything so we had to wait some time. The cold stuff was plentiful only comment I had was please keep an eye on coffee beans and fruit juice, kept running out and the restaurant was full. Thank you thyme we will return!

What makes this restaurant is the staff. Their dedication to their jobs and their enthusiasm 24/7 shows in the service they provide. They are a credit to this company. Gill in particular at breakfast was absolutely superb and some mornings she even manned the restaurant herself in a calm and cheerful manner. Staff evidently worked as a team and this gave the restaurant a friendly and family atmosphere. We saw the same staff on hotel reception as we did in the restaurant and bar which gave us a personaliised stay. Breakfasts as at all premier inns were delicious. The unlimited costa coffe was an added bonus. We ate in the Thyme restaurant one evening and the food was first class. Although we did wait a long time it was definitely worth it. The 2 for 1 happy hour on drinks was something we took advantage of and appreciated.

We visited the restaurant whilst staying at the hotel the night before an early flight. The menu was large with plenty of choice ranging from burgers to steaks, pastas and English favourites. We ordered a fish and chips, 2 different burgers and a mushroom and goats cheese pasta. All the food was very tasty and the prices were reasonable. It is always helpful that Premier Inn's have restaurants attached; it makes it easier when you don't arrive till late on and you can just walk downstairs to get good food. Overall, a very good choice.

This was my second visit and it was as great as the first time. Sam is super dedicated and makes the service something incredible. This hotel is great value for money with the added advantage of a Green King's pub right downstairs. Excellent accommodation, lovely people, delicious food. Perfect!!!
