Thyme at The Premier Inn in Worthing

Bloody awful No staff here so slow and in attentive Do not bother at all costs Chef can’t cook Will be complaint to management higher up than at the hotel!

Inevitability the price of a walk in breakfast has gone up , however i see that some things have also changed on the breakfast menu , we have gone from proper scrambled eggs to a liquid version !! Also no poached eggs either! Its the little things that staff do that make all the difference and surely that should be encouraged , staff going above and beyond ? The difference to a good review and a bad review is doing that little extra thing to make the stay even more personalised

We took advantage of the meal deal offered by the Premier Inn as this included breakfast so it was extremely good value. The deal was for two courses and a glass of wine. The menu is not that extensive but is reasonably varied. I had the oven baked cod loin which was pretty good and would recommend. The service was reasonable for this in house eatery and the meals came fairly quickly and reasonably presented. Would not hesitate to use again if needed to . And the breakfast was cooked to order not a buffet!

I had 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals on a meal deal. Very good quality and service. Sea view as well!

Good welcome, good service and food served hot. Would benefit from larger menu, draft beers and the creation of a restaurant rather than the canteen feel.

The Thyme at the Worthing Premiere Inn was a real let down. The menu is incredibly limited, and they were always out of half the dishes. The first night we dined at 8.30pm, and thought they may have been busy and so ran out of pizza, pasta and a few other things. The next day I was told at 5pm that half the items on the menu were not available - 5pm? It was the weekend; the hotel was full - were they simply not ordering in supplies? Staff were very nice, and tried to be helpful but really there was nothing they could do. We ate out for the remainder of the stay.

Appalling place. Slowest service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant, they were seriously low on staff, so much so that the waitress ended up cooking in the kitchen. My chilli was a microwave meal, I saw them put it in ! My friend’s hunter’s chicken came without any salad or vegetables - just a dry slab of chicken and bacon, and some oven chips.

there was no full evening menu on offer or the special deal. we did have breakfast on the first morning which was just about ok. Food was just warm, not the choice we have been used to pre Covid so didnt go on the other mornings.had a drink one evening and was pricey as opposed to the pub next door

Be warned - need to prebook meal times, especially breakfast. My breakfast was prepaid, but had to skip it as no suitable time slots! Also, allow a significant amount of time, as takes forever to be cooked.

Have had better. Had a meal and wanted pie and chips, however they were out of gravy. Changed to burger and chips and the chips were awful. Then next day had breakfast and they were completely out of baked beans. Had eaten here in the past, and it’s gone down hill in the past three years.

Our meal experience was enhanced by the friendly Italian chef! There's a lovely view out to sea and the food is really good too/

We were served bu stu the service was excellent as was the food, I highly recommend we went for the meal deal which we both had two courses and a beer/wine all for £14.95 which is excellent value too.

Unlike every other PI that I have stayed in, this one has a traditional large open-plan dining room - and with a relaxing view out to sea. Very happy with both the evening meal and the breakfast.

Although the restaurant was pretty empty the chefs were not on form tonight other guests were waiting a long time for their food over 40mins for my starter to arrive. My starter was served with toast instead of ciabatta and no sauce (Kofta Kebab), this was made worse when my ordered starter came out to another person and I noticed that mine was totally different. My main course was refused the first time as the mushrooms were beyond it, the chips under cooked and the gammon over cooked. Sent the food back, gammon was the same over cooked gammon, the egg was raw and slipping off the plate, chips underdone still (but warm) mushrooms were ok. I did complain as it was very poor. I didn’t have to pay as the manager agreed it was poor (you have to ask why did it leave the kitchen if the manager knew it was poor). Service was good, but I think they are struggling with a very poor chef at the moment who doesn’t have control of the kitchen and food he is serving. I spend a lot with Premier Travel Inn, I shall think twice about using the hotels restaurants in the future

My kids love the restaurants at Premier Inn. The food is always tasty, appeals to their taste buds and appeals to my wallet. Would recommend.

I did go for breakfast quite late and unfortunately the hot buffet was barely warm although there was a good selection but it was obvious the food had been there far too long. Nice coffee.

Average Premier inn breakfast, in that they are the same everywhere, but this is no bad thing, as they do have a very good selection.

We were staying in the attached Premier Inn and had dinner at about 7pm. The restaurant was not busy at all. Drinks and starters came out without issue. The main courses took approximately an hour to arrive. Two out of three were wrong. Mine had to be taken back and then when it did finally come out correctly it was missing chips which I was told would be out in 2 minutes.....they never arrived! The food that we did receive was cold and dry. Truly dreadful. Avoid at all costs!!!

The chef really cares and asked at brekfast if we had enjoyed the vening meal. All waiting staff were very helpful but especially Paige

Good food and reasonable prices, tables are not too close together. Can sit outside if you want, staff very attentive and willing to explain the menu.

Been here about 4 times now as a guest in the hotel and the food has not improved. Very basic food that resembles food from Iceland. Last week I did go to a local Indian restaurant to eat. Wish had done the same today.

Fantastic breakfast with a huge choice, well cooked and buffet style. Nice pleasant staff, and lovely view.

Had the meal deal with my premier inn stay for work. Good overall selection of food to choose from. Both for evening and breakfast. Can't grumble at the service or quality of he food. Intact all the food was fresh and hot. What more can you ask for? The staff were very well mannered and friendly also which always helps.

We were only here for one night so only had one evening meal, which we thought was very good, and the waiters were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent, with a very good choice, well set out, and all the hot food was hot! Again the staff were very attentive and helpful/

Keeping in mind that this is a hotel chain restaurant, we thought that it was very good overall. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly (although you did have to work to catch their eye sometimes) and the food was better than many "chains" we have stayed in. We arrived late and had a drink, no problem, then had a burger type meal....all was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was very good, with a full hot selection that was overseen constantly by the breakfast chef. No complaints from us!

Could not fault the quality of the food here. Had dinner here on several occasions and it was always of very high standard. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant was very clean with a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Good value and friendly and efficient service. Fairly basic menu but it does change periodically. Basically a 'pub grub' menu but that is not a criticism.

Brekkie at 6.30am was met with a polite friendly 'Good morning' The cooked brekkie was fresh and everything else was clean fresh. The seaview was great to sea at this time of day too.

Not impressed with this place at all. Food was precooked tasted awfull. Won't bother again as at the P I no choice but too use it.. Sort yourselves out please

Nice and clean, friendly helpful staff, good selection of food, all hot, we could not find a fault, and would recommend.

While staying in the hotel, enjoyed a lovely meal, while seeing a great view of the sea. The staff are friendly.

We ate on Sunday night after I completed the Brighton Marathon, table for 8 people booked for 8.00pm. We were left waiting at the table for around 25 mins before our order was taken (after they took orders for a table that sat down after us), food finally came out at 9.30 and was cold and inedible. When I mentioned this to the waiter he looked at me and told me to "chill, I don't need this" and he went over to one of his colleagues and told him to deal with us! The duty manager knows who he is and I put in an official complaint.

The staff were great, very helpful with people joining our party at different times and splitting the bill. The food was good value.

Typical pub grub but well cooked and great service. Prices are average and the setting is comfortable, clean and tidy.

Impressed by help given to provide a gluten free meal. Friendly and helpful staff in a light, airy restaurant.

Evening meal, mushrooms starter and ribeye, food served promptly with a smile, cooked exactly as requested staff pleasant and restaurant clean and modern nothing was too much trouble would def recommend and will use when visiting again

Have had many an all you can eat Premier Inn in the past, & whilst most have been very good, when you see it's a help yourself job it can sometimes mean the quality isn't as good as freshly cooked to order, but not in this instance, all, & I mean, all of the cooked fare looked & tasted fantastic, credit to the cheery friendly Italian chef who really did go the extra mile on the morning we ate breakfast there. Hey, even the toast machine was churning out perfectly browned toast. Cannot wait to return over the xmas period.

My two daughters and I ate here on Friday . The food was excellent. We had Duck parcels , garlic flatbread(huge) and Camembert to start. All were delicious. The girls had steaks and I had Salmon. Great service and decent wine. All in all completely shocked! Our local restaurant attached to a Premier is very average. This was freshly cooked food and very reasonably priced. Wish we lived nearer to Worthing !

The food was very good, a high standard. Good portons, great tasting, great service. The ribs were some of the best I've had, very meaty. Food was fresh and hot.

However wait was a long time, even though we were staying at the hotel there were not many tables, we should have booked but were surprised to have to wait 1.5 hours to eat !! Food was nice and fresh and better than we all expected, deal of evening meal, drink and breakfast the next morning was a great buy as breakfast was really lovely and plentiful.

Brilliant staff and excellent menu. Shared Prawn Cocktail and sirloin steak with the wife after cancer, no problem. Béarnaise sauce yummy. Restaurant raised up on ground floor very good views and welcoming warm décor.

We took advantage of the meal deal as we were staying at the premier inn. Restaurant was almost empty, maybe 4 or 5 other tables occupied. Which gave no excuse for our table to be sticky and dirty and had to ask for it to be cleaned. 2 waitresses on duty. One was really helpful the other not quite so. Food was ok, my chicken curry was good but one of our party was disappointed in the mixed grill. When it came to the bill, it took 3 attempts to get it right and we actually pointed out what it should be. No apology.

Possibly a record? A starter and a main which between them take about 15 minutes to prepare and cook in total managed to take 1.5 hours. When I asked the manager, the answer was 'I don't know why they didn't make it'. Some customer training required I reckon.....The fact that they didn't charge me for it doesn't change the fact that I have lost 1.5 hours of my life I will never get back.

We had a bad (poor food, slow service) experience for an evening meal at Thyme before, in Stratford, but thought we would give this one a go.... bad move.

Came back to hotel looking for a quick family meal. Waiting staff were helpful and pleasant - but food, awful. Kids had steak and chips - ordered medium, but arrived totally annihilated, and a pizza - pizza loving child, opted not to eat it. Adults tried the tomato and mozzarella salad - chopped iceberg lettuce, soft tasteless cherry tomatoes and tiny hard mozzarella balls, with no apparent dressing. We love salad, but this was very poor. Father had baked camembert - tasty, but not the stale dough sticks.

Recent stay included dinner and breakfast at Thyme (accommodation reviewed separately).

We used the Thyme Restaurant and Bar during our stay. The Breakfast was o.k. you could help yourself to what you wanted. The Bar did not have a Large range of drinks.

Stayed two days ..staff so attentive and very helpful. Our room was first class as usual ..Kerrie is a Star...

Lovely 3-night weekend staying at the Premier Inn at Worthing, We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant (The Thyme) each morning and we're pleased with the large buffet offered; nothing was too much trouble if you wanted something special cooked or warmed up. We also ate in the restaurant on two evenings and were again pleased with the range of food on offer. Very quick service, food was good on both occasions and staff were happy to recommend dishes as well. All staff were very pleasant and polite.

We ate breakfast each morning as we were staying at the Premier Inn. Staff friendly and there was good choice. Usual hot breakfast: bacon, sausage, fried and scrambled egg, black pudding, mushrooms, beans, hash browns from an all you can eat hot plate.

We ate breakfast and dinner here for 4 days. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast offered a very good variety of hot and cold foods. Dinner was adequate. The dining room had a great view of the sea.

I recently stayed in the premier inn in Worthing, as with all of these chains I expect a consistent if basic standard of service and quality of food, the hotel staff were certainly friendly and polite but the food served in the restaurant were amongst the worst I have ever tasted,

Food (burger) was dry and appeared overcooked. Staff put the impression across that this is not usual, and put this right, but when you are out for a dinner with time pressure, you don't need this.
