Stayed at the queen's Hotel Burton on trent, For a three star hotel they don't sell food or drink, as for the rooms are disgusting the furniture is full of stains ant the bathroom was filthy and cigarette burns in the bath. I wrote the the hotel to complain with photos of the room but had no reply from them so I decided to leave a review on here as I wouldn't like other's to be disappointed. If I wasn't running 2 hours late to where I needed to be I wouldn't of stayed.

We stayed at three queens hotel for just one night. Very conveniently located for the brewery tours. Plenty of parking spaces. We had bed and breakfast. The room was immaculately clean.maybe a little dated. We were told the rooms are to be refurbished. large bathroom with bath/shower.There were many extras in the room. A self service delicious English breakfast with a big variety of foods, again with many extras. Staff were very friendly and helpful. To finish our stay the checkout time was 11.30am. Would stay here again.

We stayed for a night before Alton Towers and it was about a 30 minute journey to the park in the morning setting off at 8:40. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfy, we stayed in one of the lodges on floor 2 and it was hot in there because it was 30 degrees on that day outside. However we were given 2 fans and the windows open wide to get the air in which helped. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic with lots of choices- full English, cereal, pastries, muller corners, chocolate bars, actimel and bottles and can ms of drinks in the fridge that you could help yourself to. We would definitely stay again. We booked with tesco clubcard and it was a great deal - no hassle at all. Will stay again in the future for the same purpose. I would describe it as a budget hotel and then it fits the bill!

Easy to find. Ok the shrubbery in the car park could do with a good clipping. Reception! Right on the ball. Can’t ask for anything better. A big bad black minus, no bar. But hey! Great restaurants in the vicinity. I chose a Thai Restaurant, the food? FANTASTIC, really was. A big big big recommendation, and only 75 meters away from the hotel. Right, Back to the hotel. Nice en suite room. Clean and functional. The three queens, take a bow. You deserve it. Well done! Would not hesitate to stay there again, providing you don’t put the tariffs up because of well deserved clap on the back. Well done again you deserve it. Thank you.

Stopped here just for a night to attend a party locally. The hotel is a bit tired.. carpets very old... BUT the rooms are very clean , large.. the bed was very comfortable and our room had 2 electric fans supplied which were a Godsend in this weather.... plenty of space to store clothes .. tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer iron and ironing board supplied... all in all a nice hotel and I gave it 3 only because it is s little tired but as our friends live in burton I would stay here again without hesitation... now for the 5 rating... the breakfast is the best I’ve had in a hotel in this country..!! The conveyor toaster actually toasts the bread both sides in one go lol... there is cereal, water, crumpets, chocolate, yogurts, cheese, rolls, jams.. all sorts plus the full buffet English breakfast including black pudding..!!! It’s hot and plentiful .... an excellent breakfast.... nice hotel and I will be returning one day...

One of the prospects you dread most : you arrive outside a quaint Medieval Hotel & dream of the most wonderful, quixotic, lunch-time spread. Then , when seated inside, and about to order, everything unravels. It's cold. We're all on our own. The table has not been cleaned & changed from Breakfast. Moreover, the owner seems bewildered, perhaps unused to the "Hospitality Industry" ? Then: when I order cold drinks - reasonably priced, indeed - they are almost thrown at me. You could cut the air with a knife. Obviously an establishment that neither expects nor welcomes custom....

Room was fine..good wi-fi, small but comfortable bed..the noisy traffic didn’t wake me up in the night as I thought it would! breakfast was ok, despite a lack of real porridge and the obvious suggestion that you were playing second fiddle to the social life and gossip of the ladies working there. Still the buffet was fine..good coffee..who needs a nicely set out, professional looking breakfast room when you can get a good cup of coffee?

This was a last minute booking for us and a bit of a gamble however it certainly paid off. Our room was very clean and a lot bigger than we expected. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I left some clothing behind by mistake and the hotel were more than happy to forward it onto me free of charge! The breakfast is an absolute bargain, all you can eat with lots of selection.

I've been there to watch Burton Albion vs Blackburn Rvrs. The hotel is nice and clean and you can find a good pub ( Bridge Brewery Burton ) in the opposite side. The room was clean and the bed was very good. It's not faraway from the city centre and you can be at the market place in 5 minutes. You can reach also the train station in 15-20 minutes walk but even the taxi could be good enough especially for the low prices.

Visited the National Brewery and stayed over night at this hotel. Odd location in the middle of a roundabout but was adequate and could walk to the Brewery in 5 minutes. Room size was huge with own bathroom. Quite noisy because of the location but not a problem. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Could walk to other micro-breweries from this location and was easy to find restaurants nearby. Sufficient, nice stay.

Very nice room and excellent wifi.........but the whole menu was on one sheet of A4! Had the lamb shank which was obviously done (badly) in the microwave. Provisionally booked 3 nights but luckily found somewhere else and only stayed the one. If your a foody then avoid!!! Unless there are local takeaways. Staff very nice, but they want to take your payment card at every turn. Shame because i looked the room!!!!!

Single overnight stay only, with an evening meal and breakfast. The food and drink choices were quite reasonable, however some of the dishes were a little disappointing (the fish looked like it came out of a birds eye freezer packet!).The facilities were OK for the price, the parking was good and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would consider staying again if I needed to be in the area again overnight.

Stayed DBB. Decent selection of main courses. The red wine was too warm when served and the air con was so cold we asked for it to be turned off. Huge mixed platter starter, very long wait for main course (just 3 people in the restaurant) and one lamb shank was over cooked and too firm. I think frozen (not fresh) veg was served. The service was honestly a bit amateur. This restaurant needs some TLC and inspiration although the decor is nice. There were waitresses but they seemed to disappear when not bringing out food. The hot choc cake was mildly warm. Attention to detail and service here need some work. We have been here last year and I think it has slipped.

Terrible is one word that sums up this hotel. Rooms are old. Heating doesnt work. The suites are useless - bedroom upstairs with working desk downstairs with LAN that doesnt work. Had to sit on the edge of the bed to access LAN which is tough on a business trip. No WIFI despite advertisement saying it has. Only limited WIFI in bar area (connection is highly unstable) and in some rooms. The only excellent star would be the quality of the breakfast - food and service. The wait staff are excellent - 3 ladies and 1 gentlemen. Always remembered what I ordered and always very helpful as they also double up as cleaning crew.

We dined on a Saturday evening and chose to have the three course table d'hote with tea/coffee. I chose ham hock terrine with piccalli to start which I wasn't overly enamoured with, it was a bit fatty and not the tastiest ham I've eaten. Husband had butternut squash soup which he enjoyed (although it was a bit of a small helping). My main was duo of pork with black pudding mash which I really enjoyed. Ox cheek for the husband, which he didn't enjoy that much as it had a lot of a gelatinous fatty substance in it. First time he's eaten ox cheek so maybe that's just how it is. Seasonal veg that came was parsnips, carrots and swede. Well I list the 3 but it was pretty much all parsnip (but it was nice!). We also had side orders of hand cut chips and onion rings. Onion rings were nice but chips a bit greasy after more than a few. Both of us really enjoyed our desserts, chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream for me and lemon tart with raspberry sorbet for him. We weren't offered the tea/coffee that was meant to be included but because we had a function to attend we didn't press the matter. Service was efficient, drinks from bar good and the interior of the restaurant was nice. I think because my main was nice I enjoyed the overall experience more than my husband who felt a bit let down with his main. We would come back again in the future but would just have to be more careful with menu choices. 3.5/5.0.
