Had our first festive lunch today, no more words other than food was perfect, service was perfect. If you want a great place to eat and made to feel very welcome then this is the place to go. They have now got some wind breakers curtains for the outside seating area so you can still enjoy the outside but without the wind.

This place suffers from the familiar spectacular location syndrome that I have experienced before , being on the beach they don't have to try very hard to get custom but I have never experienced anything as bad as this.. I am avoiding eating wheat as I am intolerant and as such I don't like to make a fuss so I usually just order a gluten free dish if it's clearly marked as such the menu.. So I ordered the gluten free vegan burger , it's called that on the menu , you'd think that ordering this and clearly stating that you wanted "the gluten free vegan burger' would be a fairly safe bet , you might say that I should have told the server that I am avoiding wheat because of an intolerance but as I said I don't like to make a fuss , who does! Unfortunately I trusted the server , the menu and the restaurant to be professional and careful about allergens but I was wrong to do so The burger arrived and I took a bite .. I was immediately suspicious as the bun tasted too good to be true , I've had a tasty gluten free bun before but I doubted that this place would have one this good and I was right to doubt them The bun was wheat and also on the plate where two onion rings in wheat batter So they where right to say the burger was gluten free , indeed it was , just not the bun or sides Sure they said sorry , refunded me and then brought out another one , in two slices of gluten free bread, which means they never had a gluten free bun to begin with , so they have a gluten free burger in the menu but no bun , outrageous! Also they just do the bare minimum the burger had no sauce! The bun wasn't toasted , no gherkins ,just a paltry bit of limp lettuce and a slice of underripe tomato , at least it didn't have any humus on it as vegan burgers often do! Lovely spot oddicombe but do yourself a favour and bring a packed lunch and avoid this shoddy overpriced tourist trap that doesn't train it's staff and doesn't give a toss about it's customers.

One of the best places I have had lunch in my 63 years of life. Sat on a beach having lunch and a drink. In the background the sound of the waves breaking on the same beach. Amazing. The Gentleman serving me I presumed was a manager or owner was amazing, if he was just a member of staff he deserves credit for his his customer service. No offence I'm 63, presume the said Gentleman to be late 40s early 50s. His attention to was spot on. The younger members of staff we're obviously well trained. They were kind, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Well done to every member of staff from service to chef's. You all deserve a damn good review

It's a really nice cafe /bar. You can't fault the quality of the food, or the beautiful location on the beach front at Oddicombe. If I did have one critism, if you are charging nearly four pounds for a coffee, put a little biscuit with it. It's the small touches that can make a difference.

Picture the scene. A damp, overcast September afternoon. Maybe half a dozen people on the beach. We stop and sit at one of the outside tables, all of which were unoccupied apart from ours and have a nice cup of tea and cake. All fine and would have warranted a 4* review. Then an elderly couple, one with walking stick, come past and ask for ice creams. The staff open the outdoor counter so that they can buy them which was good of them. They then sit at one of the empty tables to eat their ice creams and are promptly told to move as “there’s wooden benches further down the beach” they should use. OK,maybe it’s company policy not to allow people to sit and eat food bought at the takeaway but have some common sense please! No one else needed or wanted the table. To move an elderly couple on like that was completely unnecessary. They were clearly embarrassed and upset by it. So were we to witness it.

What a wonderful hidden gem on Babbacombe beach this bistro is. Reached by either the cliff railway or walking down a steep hill to the beach. All the staff were friendly and service was second to none. We waited no longer than 5 minutes to be seated and about the same again to be served. We had the pasta dishes (chicken and bacon and the tomato and mozzarella) both were beautifully served and were full of flavour. Good prices too - our bill came to just over £35 including drinks which we thought was very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Torquay/ Babbacombe area.

It's probably the most expensive place I've ever eaten at with this quality of food. We paid about £55 for two burgers, haloumi bites and coffee. Haloumi - fried flattened sticks of cheese with a primitive hot sauce. Cheese burger - charcoal grilled meat with a small piece of cheese, a small tomato, without any sauces inside and on a regular unbaked bun. Chicken burger - all the same, only instead of minced meat there was chicken fried in old oil. Coffee was okay. No parking. So many people. Staff was so polite.

Amazing location on the beach. Was a busy lunchtime and the outdoor area is "first come first serve" so we queued for a short while. No problem, seemed popular, looked like a good menu. Unfortunately the food was not good. My burger was just a patty in a bun with one slice of tomato. Tasteless. I put some of the side salad in it with ketchup and mustard, which made it taste of something at least... but that's not what I'm looking for when I spend £15 on a burger. My partner had a different burger and said it was also disappointing. Service was pretty indifferent.

I only bought an earl grey tea and go for the double biscuits, as the oat one really tasty it's crumbly and sweet perfect with the cuppa. I went in October time when things are more chilled and could just listen to sounds of the sea. Well, we had a lovely afternoon on the beach and took a picnic down with us and a few soft drinks and beers... Great, there was a cafe/restaurant/bar right on the beach! So, I felt it was only right to spend a bit of money there, I would get drinks from the bar, just to help keep local businesses going (After all it's been a rubbish summer up to now). So, decided to pop into the bar, where there were two ladies stood behind the bar ready to serve and great, no queue! I requested a beer, only to be told that it was table service!Okay, but we're sat on the steps at the top of the beach, so I would be happy with plastic containers... "No, you have to go to the takeaway" (Which was adjoining). Right, but there was a massive queue of people wanting to buy icecreams and takeaway food! Not to want to cause a fuss, I went and stood in the queue... for 15 minutes... and listening to people sat down at the tables, one chap in particular complaining that the queue, which was across the front of all the tables and was blocking his view of the beach/sea! (Also heard people mention that it was under new management)... Finally got to the front, after everyone else had received their icecream and take away burgers and got served a pint of lager (which was decent). While being poured in the plastic glass, I asked if it would be okay to have it refilled in the bar after, rather than stand in the icecream queue again, now that I've got my plastic glass? "No, you have to come back here"! Looking behind me at this point, the queue had doubled, there must have been 30 people waiting! Anyway, after paying 6 pounds for a pint, I decided not to purchase any further drinks and we would make do with the beer and drinks in the cool box! So, I guess the moral of this long and boring story, is to take your own drinks to this beach (which we did) and don't worry about local business, as they are happy having staff stood around, refusing to take your money (but no doubt it's down to a half soaked manager)!

Three Degrees West is the only cafe on the beach and after a long walk down it’s your only option for lunch. The cafe has extremely poor service despite having about 6 people waiting on about 15 tables. Most of the staff appear to be teens. We waited for about 20 mins for a table, despite the whole of the inside of the cafe being completely empty. When we eventually got a table, we were a family of 7 so asked to put 2 tables together so we could sit together. Despite 2 tables next to each other being free we were told this was not allowed, so we had to sit apart or wait another 20 mins for the only table in the place that was allowed to be pushed together to become free. Trying to order food and drinks was challenging - whenever we did manage to get someone’s attention we were told they couldn’t serve us because it wasn’t their section. Food took about 45 mins to come. Not ideal with small children. When it did come one of our meals was missing so we had to wait another 20 mins for that to come. Pasta was on a par with a supermarket ready meal. Salad wasnt much better. This was disappointing because it’s quite pricey given its a cafe. Generally felt the attitude of staff was poor, it was like cant you see we are busy rather than an apology for the bad service. This place must be busy most days so it’s unclear why they have not found a way to manage the cafe properly. Overall I would avoid, avoid, avoid.

Wonderful food but definitely dine in rather than take out as food took a while to arrive and is quite expensive: £4 for a portion of chips!

No exaggeration, this cafe/restaurant must have the best and most scenic location, on all of the south coast of England. Couple that with great food and service (Ryan), and you have a must attend establishment. The suspension of the funicular railway that would normally take...

I visited this place recently with family and had a really lovely lunch right next to the sea sitting outside on a table. Fantastic location and will try to visit more regularly as I want to see this gem continue :)

Set on the beautiful Gem that is Oddicombe beach. We were served quickly and with no hassle. The Captains Breakfast was nice as was the eggs benedict. Good views and tidy eating area. Staff done well given how busy it got in the lunch hour. Very good day out. All be it I'm a little sun burnt.

Went in only after a quick coffee. Was seated and told by the server he would be back imminently. Sat there for 15 minutes before I walked out to another coffee shop. Wasn’t busy and the staff were just chatting. Much better places to go in the vicinity.

Situated on beautiful Babbacombe Downs with a large terrace to the side. On a sunny winter's morning taking in the glorious views over Lyme Bay. A breakfast sandwich, stuffed with bacon, sausage, fried egg and mushrooms. Lovely! Be aware dogs not allowed inside the café. Home made cakes and excellent icecreams from the kiosk. 🇬🇧🇳🇿
