Ended up eating here after a long break. Quality was poor, main lacked flavour and nan was baked to a biscuit and swimming in oil, yuk.

It is Monday evening and after finding out via Google that my more local Indian restaurant is shut I have paid £12 in a Taxi to come to Theale to visit Flavour of India which I have heard nothing but great things about. Google said it was open yet I arrive to find it shut...is this Google...although they were right about my more local restaurant...is this poor on-line management!! I will come back here BUT I'm hoping it's very good and very open!! Slightly disappointed with this experience from what I was expecting to be a technically appt local restaurant- I used to live in Theale....and frequent the Blue Cobra (sorry for swearing FOI) But this didn't happen then...please prove me wrong!!

Went here on a Wednesday evening for their special banquet menu. The food was excellent and very good value for money. Have been using this restaurant since it moved from Reading and it has been consistently good. Would recommend.

Been visiting this place under various owners since ‘Blue Cobra’ days 17 years or so ago, and current owners / managers are still mostly maintaining good food and good standards at a reasonable price. Had a couple of ‘iffy’ dishes such as soft, slightly older poppadoms and slightly undercooked Bombay potatoes, but all have been fixed when have returned them ( just a bit of a hassle) Overall, far more good meals than bad, and will continue to come back.

Greasy, tasteless meal. Cash only taken!! Waiters miserable apart from front of house nice chap. More expensive than other local Indian Restsurants.

Disappointed with the meal I purchased.Lacking in flavour and overpriced in comparison to similar dishes I have eaten elsewhere.Surprised they only have a food standard rating of 3 stars too.Normally I would avoid but had ordered to collect so only saw the rating after paying.

Myself and a couple of family ordered a buffet. The selection was pretty good, with plenty on offer for veggies as well as meat eaters. There was a section for starters which included chicken wings, veggie samosas, bhaji and some pakora type snacks. Mains were also on offer for veggies and meat eaters. The mushroom curry was tasty as well as the chicken biriyani. Great value for money at £10 per person.

This is the best restaurant in Reading if not England. The food is amaizing the staff are brilliant. Lots of fun has been had here with family and friends on many occasions for all sorts of occasions.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, they were attentive too but as there was hardly anybody in the restaurant I suppose it was no more than I would expect. Great choice of food, all the usual things you’d expect in an Indian restaurant plus quite a lot of specials. No draft beer was a bit disappointing.

What else can I say about it?... Absolutely fantastic food!... Staff are very friendly.. And they serve my favourite dish chicken kashmiri!.. Highly recommended and We will be visiting again soon!

Had a night out with friends here Christmas weekend. Very busy but this did not spoil the service. Food was very good as usual and the staff very friendly. Have been to this restaurant many times, never disappoints. The only negative is the decor could do with a coat of paint and the toilets refurbished.

For a special occasion, I wasn't that excited to find out my wife had booked a table at a local eatery. I was hoping for a trip to the lights! But I was more than pleasantly surprised.

We ordered a takeaway on Saturday night. Polite friendly service both on the phone and face to face when collecting food.

We have not had a meal here for a while as it had some poor reviews. Good menu with a range of dishes to choose from. excellent starters followed by chicken dishes. The main courses tasted good and contained a lot of chicken. Friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusive. Drinks were reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. Will come back again.

Food is average at best. The person I booked the meal with said the taste card wasn't accepted on Fridays (it says on the taste card website it is, I didn't argue about it) but that if I booked they would honour the discount, then argued with me when the bill came and didn't. Ruined the meal, won't be returning.

Just passing through Theale on a Sunday night and it seemed the only place serving food.Our vegetarian and vegan were advised to go a la carte (waiter seemed a bit puzzled about what vegans eat) and I had the buffet. Both options were very nice. The buffet was a little messy (blame the punters) but the food was all good and well chosen to compliment each other and not just similar tasting dishes.Staff were on the right side of attentive.

Been going and using for 5 years, used to be brilliant, slowly slowly catch a monkey gone down hill. Last night final take away, price off our usual take away gone up by 30% in six months. £26 upto £35, quality has dropped through the floor, last visit ever, been buying from them at least once a month for 5 years But no longer going elsewhere from now on

Had take away last night. 'Orrible, over priced and over cooked king prawn dishes, garlic x 2 and balti. Sauce was stewed and without curry flavours that we expect. Chewy meaty prawn in tasteless sauce. The chicken madras was very good. My last review was very good and I had hoped that we once again had a good curry house in Theale, ... sorry folk we ain't.

Our first visit to the restaurant in ages (although we'd had takeaway delivered a few times and that had always been fine). The long white plate holding the sauces for the poppadoms was filthy, covered in splashes and stains of sauce. It had clearly been used multiple times that evening and not washed. Pointed it out to the waiter and there was no apology, just a half-hearted "oh I'll bring another one". He was so unbothered about it, it was like that sort of thing happens all the time! We said no, we'd just go straight to mains. We then saw the waiter whispering to a colleague, they both looked up at our table and sniggered, and carried on whispering. At that point we'd had enough and said we'd just pay for our drinks and go. Once again they didn't seem to care, or ask if there was anything wrong.Very disappointed as it used to be a lovely curry house. It's obviously gone downhill lately which might be why it was less than half full on a Saturday evening. A real shame.

Have had a few deliveries from here and thought it was about time to write a review. The food is great and is pretty much always with us in 40 minutes. Great flavour and spice, accompanied by a nice wide ranging menu. Very impressed.

We went to the Flavour of India for a team meal. The food here is excellent with a very good choice on the menu to chose from. The staff are very helpful and tentative to all your needs even when the restaurant is full.Wednesday evenings they have a Happy Wednesday price which is a any starter, main, side dish and rice or nan bread, exceptional good value for money. Will be returning here again definitely.

Very relaxed, casual atmosphere. Went with friends two weeks ago, the restaurant was full to bursting. This did not detract from the service. Food was excellent, large portions, too much to eat. Would definitely recommend if you want good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere.

This is a great place to eat, the menu is varied and chef specials tasty. Service was very good, measured and timed for the perfect meal. Three mains, two veg, two rice and drinks all for £66 so great value too. Complimentary drink and a rose for the ladies at the end too. One minor note to help your enjoyment, is that the food is very flavoursome but not very spicy, that's how I like it, so if you order a two chilli rated meal and want it spicy just mention that to them as they will cook to your tastes. All in all a great evening out. They do take away too and my friends enjoy that too. The place changed its name on the high street to Flavours of India.

The food was most enjoyable from Madras to garlic king prawn. Pleanty of flavour and good sized portions. Glad I gave them another chance and I recommend others to try again.

Have just been this evening for the first time, although restaurant is called something different!! They got our drinks order wrong and argued that there was no difference between a slim line tonic vs a normal tonic! I sent back my Coke halfway through dinner as it was flat, and they refused to take it off the bill until I said that I was going to write a review on here... after much argument, and astonishment that people in a customer focused industry could be so rude to their customers!!! Food was reasonable, not the best and not the worst... but won't be returning as was simply made to feel very uncomfortable!!

Frequently visit family in area and go to one of the restaurants in the village. Theale Tandoori always delivers consistantly good food and service! Never had a bad meal here, nor when had take away, always fresh and hot. Great restaurant!

Very busy establishment, promptly seated. Slow service for drinks and food order. Ordered various dishes included poppadoms. Poppadoms didnt turn up. Mains where very bland and tasteless to the point i left my food. Waiter asked if everything ok and i told him about food, he said you should have ordered spicy. I thought indian food is suppose to be spicy???Took long time to pay so walked up to counter to pay.Positive: cold coca colaNegative: bland tasteless foodWill we be back? No

Another great meal at Theale Tandoori. The staff always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Wonderful meal deal on Wednesday & you can always swap heat or main ingredient to suit your taste. If you like chilli or spicy just ask. The rose & cheeky Guinness is a special touch at the end.

Worth a visit and food was tasty, warmth of welcome was exemplary and people could be bothered, cooked specially for one and gave a thoroughly good account of themselves. A good place to eat and enjoy a relaxed environment.

After moving to the area I was skeptical about the new restaurants, as a good Indian is hard to come by. This place was recommended and I was not disappointed. Staff were very friendly, and the food was amazing. It was a little pricy, but that is usually the case for decent Indian food. I will be making this my regular spot.

We went as big group for a works night out. I ordered a beer which was warm. Poppadoms were put on the table without asking if we wanted them. We all tucked in thinking they were complimentary (as they had been on a previous visit) we found out at the end of the evening we were charged £48.50 for 22 Poppadoms! So turn away the Poppadoms if you don't want them.The main course was finally served after what felt like an eternity (table booked for 7pm, mains served at 9.20pm). The food was delicious as always so no complaints there. It would have been nice if starter plates and chutneys had been cleared in time for main course as space on the table was limited. We went on the Wednesday night so took advantage of the starter, main course, vegetable side dish and rice or naan for £12.95....well worth the money.After the meal we were given a hot cloth to clean our hands, a complimentary drink, chocolates and a red rose each.

The Wednesday offering is the best, ANY starter, main and rice / nan for £13. Unlike others in the area there is no limited choice you get the whole menu to pick from which was nice, The food was very tasty and the service pleasant. You cant fault it. Its no wonder the place was packed. So id recommend getting there early or booking a table for the Wednesday meal.

Theale Tandooi does an exerlent sunday buffet. We visit this restaurant lot and have never had a bad meal .The food is always first glass and always very hot when it arrives at your table,and the staff are always friendy and very helpful.

Depends what your used to, but when visit from abroad, its rather average and the service a little chaotic but very friendly.

We booked a table of 11.for a family members birthday tonight.Came away dissapointed.Popadoms to start were cooked in old oil.Had a distinct taste that tells you the oil is old.wasnt pleasant.The attention from front of house was lacking.we had starters.food nice but serving dishes & buffet table dirty.we ate main coarse around our empty starter plates still on our table.shame because the food quality & taste was lovely.No after dinner towels or drinks offered.Bit of a let down tonight.Shame as previous visits have been mega good.

Saturday night, the restaurant looked busy, noisy, not my kind of place but we got a takeaway and enjoyed the food at home. Rice was a bit undercooked but otherwise good. Lamb patia was delicious, as was ghobi bhaji. Vindaloo wasn't hot enough but my husband rectified that with some chilli. My daughter loved her chicken rogan josh. All in all pretty good and definitely worth another visit.

... Seems to be the universal response to how long the wait will be before collecting a takeaway, be it two dishes or twenty-two. It was about 740pm when I ordered by phone. We had just returned from hospital to eat with our starving son-in-law, who had not eaten all day since attending the birth of his second daughter. "Half an hour". "Great see you then". Admittedly, the restaurant was very busy (it was Saturday) and when it came (at 9:05) the food was good - but I'm not sure son was awake by the end. "They always say that" he said afterwards.

Theale Tandoor is one of the best places to get a indian meal, the staff are very friendly and the service is first class.The menu is varid and has some different choices from other Indians resturants,I really like that you still get a hot towel after the meal, a complimentary drink and a rose for the ladies.I would recommend this resturant

Theale Tandoori was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. The lighting may be on the bright side but the welcome is genuine and the food is good and honest. We have been there twice now. Many thanks.

Been here four times now and I keep thinking that I must leave feedback, to let anyone who is thinking of going, just how good it is. The food behind fantastic and the staff are brill. They even recognise us when we go in and have a chat. They're great with the kids and our big family meet ups. On Mother's Day there was 19 of us and we had only booked 17. Although they were busy, they had a shift around and accommodated our extras (sorry we couldn't count) without any fuss or interference to any of the other dinners. I must mention that this isn't our local Indian restaurant (we're 15 miles away), however, we travel to Theale, whenever we want an Indian meal because it is simply the best. Keep up the good work, you're doing everything right. See you again very soon.

Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was delicious and served very promptly. Waiters were attentive and keen to share a joke or two. On the night we visited they weren't very busy so we didn't feel at all rushed. We were able to take our time and enjoy the evening.

Had missed calls from Just Eat when I phoned back, they had no idea apart from there might be delay. There was 15 minutes. Theale Tandori is nice except they have now stopped giving you 3 free popadoms with your order - but still supply little condiments.

Had lunch here Sunday. First time under new ownership, and thought it was excellent. Good choice on the buffet, excellent service, good choice of drinks, and great value for money. Will certainly return.
