The Yellow Broom is best described as a blend of pure elegance with a splash of sophistication. The setting is undeniably beautiful, complemented by a warm welcome from the staff, who are clearly well-trained in delivering exceptional silver service. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of exquisite, and the flavors were simply delightful. The staff were remarkably attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant were both appealing and comfortable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Yellow Broom is a truly first-class establishment that consistently maintains high standards. I highly recommend a visit—you will not be disappointed.

I have had a bee in my bonnet for some time about how a ‘traditional afternoon tea’ should be. The Yellow Broom have hit the mark 100% Fresh dainty sandwiches with traditional fillings and the most delicious scones and cakes. All served beautifully and in the most exquisite settings. I took my sister on Friday for her birthday and we had such a lovely relaxing couple of hours. The staff were attentive but not too pushy. I can honestly say that this was the best one I have had by far.

Having been past the Yellow Broom hundreds of times, this is the first time we have ever been in. My wife's cousins gave her a voucher for her birthday. We were not disappointed at all. Service was great by everyone working there. We were welcomed and taken to our table. My starter was the pastrami hash and my wife has the salmon. Both arrived quite quickly and were absolutely gorgeous. For the mains, I had the lamb casserole and my wife had the cod. Again both plates were totally cleared. Dessert was a tough choice, but I had the treacle tart and my wife had the apple blondie. Nothing left of those either. The speed of service was excellent. The food was well presented and all served whilst very hot. After nearly forty years of driving past it, we will definitely be back.

Superb staff, delicious food and a great selection from either lunch main menu or two course lunch menu. French onion soup gratinée and Grilled sea bass fillet were stand outs. We were warmly greeted, wonderfully looked after by attentive staff throughout our leisurely and uninterrupted meal as dining room is spacious and conversations are kept private, and sound to a pleasing background hum. Meal was for my Dad’s birthday and he wished many happy returns, and thoroughly enjoyed his meal, his visit and ambience. Thank you, team Yellow Broom!

My partner has wanted to dine at The Yellow Broom for such a long time and despite some of the negative reviews, I acquiesced and with an open mind booked a Sunday lunch. How terribly disappointing the meal turned out to be. The highlight of my meal was the small horseradish sauce accompaniment. It tasted freshly made with crunchy horseradish. If it was home made, well done. If it was from a jar, it’s a superior brand and one I’d like to get my hands on. The treacle tart was ok too. Gooey and well flavoured. Once again, if home, great, if bought in, I like to know where from. The remainder of my meal was bland and unexciting. The two slender slices of beef were just about ok, as was the thin gravy again it was enveloped in. The vegetables were uninspired..boiled broccoli, boiled carrot, boiled mangetout and boiled frozen peas. The roasted potatoes should have been described as re-heated potatoes. Roasties will make or break a Sunday roast. These potatoes offered the latter alternative. They weren’t crispy, they seemed like they’d been emptied from a packet and tasted like they’d been boiled and tossed in a little fat, with no care or attention. Toby Carveries, hardly a gold standard, provide a far superior roasty. The nastiest item on the plate was the Yorkshire pudding….truly awful. It might just as well have been prepared a week or two ago. It was cold, dry and had and there was absolutely zero chance of it having been prepared just prior to the meal (a simple procedure in a professional kitchen). My partner’s fish was “nice” and the creamed leek it came on was “ok”. Her chicken liver pâté appeared like those available from wholesalers. In all a step up from school dinners, but way below what your local Toby would provide at approximately 3 times the price. We don’t dine at Toby, nor will we ever again at The Yellow Broom.

We went for Sunday Lunch, the overall ambience is very good, service is good, however apart from the roast beef the main was dire, roast potatoes were not fresh but of the frozen variety along with the mixed vegetables, but the final nail in the coffin was the pre-made frozen Yorkshire which was still frozen on the inside, starter and dessert were okay but nothing special, will not be back for sure

Marion & I had a wonderful valentine’s meal on our first visit to The Yellow Broom at Twemlow Green. Just loved the continental decor & team who were friendly & professional. The menu was tasteful & inviting. We felt the restaurant had been lovingly created & in a way felt like someone’s proudly presented home, albeit on a large scale. We felt comfortable & that was a big plus for anyone thinking the Yellow Broom is a bit ‘high brow’. The food was really great & lovingly presented. I started with haggis Bon Bons & Marion the pate with sourdough. We both had ribeye & peppercorn sauce as a main & the sauce was to die for. All of it was wonderful & so tasty. The wine we chose was a King Rabbit Chardonnay & that too was excellent. A 5 star almost but my ribeye was just a little too poor a cut for the price, whereas Marion’s was super duper, just the luck of the draw I suppose. We shall definitely be back for more spoiling.

Went with my three friends for Sunday Lunch as I had been before but just for drinks only and the place itself is lovely so I wanted to share it We didn’t really want 3 courses but you have no choice Starters were fine and desserts lovely but the actual dinner was terrible. The veg was diced veg that you would get out of a frozen bag. Although it didn’t actually taste frozen the presentation of it looked awful. The Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes to me were definitely frozen and seemed like they had come from a bag of Aunt Bessie’s. For £32.95 it was a real let down. We did call one of the young waitresses and questioned the food and she said ‘I can assure you it’s all fresh as I see the chef preparing it all’. She did mention it to the manager though who came over to us. We told her our thoughts and one of my friends said to her it looked like vegetables that would be served In care home. We couldn’t actually believe her reply when she said ‘well that is the type of people that we normally have in here’ I mean - really. !!!!! She did come back with the bill and deducted a bottle of Prosecco off it. But our bill including some drinks was still £220.00. I felt really bad tbh for asking my friends to come here thinking it would be lovely for them but lunch itself was a total let down Definitely not worth the money and Would I go again - definitely not

Service was great. That is all that was great. If I go to a place with such great reputation and not to mention paying 16.95 for a Sunday lunch (solo) and tied into a 32.95 3 course meal I would expect a freshly prepped Sunday roast instead, I felt like I had gone to a local microwave pub as we were served FROZEN yes FROZEN potatoes, yorkshires AND veg. I order leg of lamb and all that arrive were two little slithers of supposedly leg of lamb. HIGHLY disappointing. Would NOT return. I’m not a chef however I could have cooked a better roast myself that wasn’t from the freezer.! SUCH a shame.!

The Yellow Broom continues to delight. Weekly themed Saturday evening takeaways have been wonderful. Spanish last week, which was superb. Tonight was my favourite so far - ITALIAN. Tuscan Panzanella salad to start with freshly baked bread followed by a veal belly main course. So many flavours and absolutely melt in the mouth veal. The Yellow Broom has got it right. The environment is nice and safe with all rules and regulations fully complied with at every stage for the welfare of staff and clients. Tables were nicely distanced and the restaurant is all decorated for Christmas which really makes it feel very festive. The food was wonderful and perfectly cooked and presented. Staff as always very attentive. The Christmas menu left us spoilt for choice, we will need to try more of the dishes. To start we had Salmon and french onion soup, mains of Lobster and filet mignons, desserts of melting chocolate pudding and Baileys cheesecake. Fabulous gin cocktails and kir royale helped to wash it down with deliciously sweet pudding wine. Coffees and chocolates and we were ready for home. The cheeseboard was too good to miss, we just didn’t have room! So Natalie did us a takeaway for a light tea at home. The Yellow Broom continues to offer exceptional service in challenging times and the team are working hard to ensure that it is still a very unique and special destination with all those little extra personal touches. Just had a phone call from the owner, I presume, telling me that he was cancelling my online booking because he couldn’t cater for us (gluten free and vegan guests). Whilst I was trying to enquire why, since they already have a gluten free menu, he purposely and abruptly put the phone down on me. I was being polite, he was extremely rude. If this is how they speak to their customers, they don’t deserve our custom. I obviously don’t mind if places aren’t able to cater to people’s needs, particularly at this challenging time, but they can still be polite about it, there’s no need for such rudeness.

We have eaten at The Yellow Broom in the past and love the ambiance. The food is well presented and although the portions are not too large in our old age with reduced appetites we find them sufficient. Drinks however are quite expensive. We have found at the weekend that the restaurant can be quite full particularly if there are larger parties present. The conservatory area is lovely particularly in the summer but the inside area tends to be where the smaller round tables are sited mainly for 2 people dining. Having booked on a previous visit we were seated at one of the smallish round tables which meant we were very conscious of the adjoining diners and were almost involved in their conversations. It was just a little too cosy for comfort. On our last visit we chose a mid week lunch visit and I specifically requested to be seated in the conservatory where there is more space. On arrival I discovered the conservatory was curtained off so that all the diners of which there were about 7-8 tables were arranged in the narrow part of the restaurant. Once again we felt cramped and far too close to the other diners. I could not understand why it was necessary to do this unless the conservatory was closed off to conserve heating.

A pleasant Sunday lunch. Convivial surroundings, very relaxing. Friendly staff. Unfortunately one young Waitrose delivered every glass by the rim of the glass! Unhygienic and lacking training. A lovely meal. The Yorkshire pudding was, however, rather underwhelming and certainly did not look home made - too even and bland. It was also very disconcerting to be served cubed vegetables - as if they had been bought in frozen - very disappointing indeed, mingled with mangetou and garden peas. Some nice fresh veg would have been far more appropriate for the cost. The mint leaf decorating the cheesecake was old and limp. All in all - pleasant but really could easily improve.

My wife & I have just arrived home having had Easter Sunday lunch at the Yellow Broom. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Having travelled 35 miles in each direction & having wanted to visit for over a year now we were really looking forward to something special. We booked on the 3rd March (a month & a half ago) but still found ourselves seated, on our own, in a conservatory which looks like a wedding venue. The table looked nice with linen cloth & napkins, however, when we moved the bread basket there was a large gravy stain under it. Clearly the cloth had not been changed. The wine was good as were the starters, although I did not receive the starter I ordered. We both had the lamb which came ready plated with potatoes & veg which is unusual at most good restaurants these days. My main complaint was the lamb, it was a couple of slim strips which looked as though it was the waste removed from the outside of the joint! The potatoes & veg were ok as was the gravy. Our deserts were ok & the coffee (an extra £3.50 each) was good. This is not a cheap Sunday lunch at £32.50 each. Suffice to say, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant. The reason we wanted to try Yellow Broom is because it comes out consistently top of the list of best Cheshire restaurants on the “Open Table” restaurant booking site - very confusing!

We have visited The Yellow Broom before for an evening meal and we're impressed. However, when we went for Sunday lunch last week we were left a little disappointed.

We tend to use The Yellow Broom for special occasions. It's a lovely place, the service is always excellent & the food fresh and tasty. If you're considering booking for the first time then ask for a table in the conservatory.

Have just returned from afternoon tea at the Yellow Broom. It was in a lovely setting, in the middle of the Cheshire countryside but easy to get to. The table was set beautifully and the afternoon tea was pretty as a picture. The scones were some of the best we have ever had - and I'm fussy about my scones !! The staff were very attentive and polite but discreet. All in all a real treat.

Have just retuned home from lunch with six girl friends choosing from the Christmas festive menu. A wonderful meal. Not one of us could find anything to complain about (a rare feat!). The portions were adequate, well cooked, beautifully presented and the service couldn't have been better. The restaurant is delightful and tastefully decorated for Christmas. No crackers or other tat so popular with other restaurants.

We visited here for Sunday lunch as a somewhat belated mother’s/father’s day treat with our son . The atmosphere is just right for a relaxed Sunday lunch . The menu was varied and interesting , we all enjoyed our starters, the breakfast omelette, terrine and smoked salmon . My baked cod was delicious, beautifully cooked and served with a white onion sauce but I have no idea what the bed of mash was! Potato? Swede? But it was perfectly good . But no others vegetables which was a real disappointment. Both companions had the roast beef, with. Selection of veg, potatoes. Their Yorkshire pudding was deemed to be “strange”!!

Five of us visited here last week for lunch. Not having visited here for about 13 years, a real wow as I walked in. Such a change from all those years ago. Light, bright & sparkling! Couldn’t fault anything. Lovely staff, beautiful surroundings, excellent food and a reluctance to leave. Booked again for afternoon tea! Quirky bar area and outside sitting area for warmer days.. and all just up the road. Fabulous.

We took an elderly friend here for a midweek lunch. The decor is lovely, very elegant, nice crisp linen on the tables, subtle decor, very relaxed porch and conservatory for aperitifs The service was very professional. All the food was perfect. Fresh, well cooked and the main courses were a good size.

Some reviewers mention slow service but we found it relaxed and not rushed and since we are more interested in the quality of the food were very happy indeed. Good ambience and pleasant staff all contributed to a successful evening. We had the Queenie Scallops followed by Duck Confit and pudding and all courses were delicious. We will certainly go again.

The Yellow Broom is a lovely restaurant. It is beautifully decorated very open, airy and calming. The staff are smart, uniformed, polite and attentive. The tables have crisp white linen tablecloths and napkins. The menu is varied and has options for all tastes. There is a good range of beers, wines, spirits and gins. We had onion soup, chicken super foods, pork and beef, all were well presented and delicious. The toilet facilities are easily accessed and very clean and smart. All in all a very nice venue.

Perfectly pleasant people, but the food here is pure 1975. I'm sure elderly people like it with their reduced level of taste but seriously, this place is totally overrated.

With a family group, I have to say that the ambience of the restaurant was as good as I hoped. The food was ok but not particularly good. What let it down was the service -- it was slow and there was no structure. We went straight to our table -- one of your reviews said that sitting at the bar first just adds delay. But it was about 20 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink, and then two minutes later another waitress came and asked if we would like a drink!! The same happened 20 minutes later when we were asked (twice) if we'd like to order food. I won't be going there again, I'm afraid

Really good, freshly-cooked pub food. Decent beers, friendly service and reasonable prices. Lovely old-school, generous puddings too. The menu choice is limited but if that ensures everything is fresh and of a high quality then that's fine by us. Had a great evening meal here with the family and would certainly visit again.

We have just had the most wonderful experience at our new favourite pub! Called in on the hop just to get a bite and check it out. Wonderful setting, interior and exterior absolutely beautiful. Staff were wonderful. Quick, really polite and attentive. Food-great selections available on menu. We had Caesar salad and the monkfish. It was first class. Really beautifully cooked and presented. Wine also very nice. Would have probably stayed longer but the annoying scousers complaining put us off! Not your fault the swan, we’ll be back!
