We have visited Holmfirth a couple of times staying at Nora Batty’s cottage whixh is next door to the Wrinkled Stocking Tearoom and can definitely say that fhis is our go to place and never disappoints The breakfasts are stunning, made freshly to order with several options available although the regular one pictured is ample for me. The other half had eggs and home made chips which were amazing with a hot chocolate that was almost a work of aft Service was warm and friendly and not rushed which was great with even some treats for the dogs as well We also asked them to do us some savoury trays to have in the house and these were brilliant - freshly made sandwiches, nibbles, quiches and cheese ane very competitively priced Probably one of our favourite tearooms and are already looking forward to our next visit

I've tittled this if it ain't broke don't fox it. Why? Stumbled upon this place on way to York for a weekend travelling via Holmfirth. Have to say what an absolute find. Had the large breakfast with coffee and orange juice and it was big and superb quality and value for money. For a tourist place, Last of the Summer Wine fame, one usually expects to pay far more for food and drinks so I was totally surprised. About an hour and 15 from where I live and already planning another visit with more family members before Xmas. And dog friendly. Such places who produce quality food, great setting and great value for money deserve to be kept alive for all to enjoy and experience. Forgot to take a photo of food because I couldn't wait to tuck in.

As we looked at the choices as to what to have for breakfast our teas and coffee arrived with a bowl of chopped sausage for our dog. A really lovely touch and our dog thoroughly enjoyed it! This is a charming traditional tea shop which serves wonderful breakfasts. It's chintzy which it is supposed to be and it's just right for its setting next door to Norah Batty's house. The food was just as good as the first time we visited. A really good choice of hot and cold snacks and cakes. everything home-made. The last time we had two of their home-made cakes. This time we opted for the hot rolls. My wife had the roast pork with apple sauce. I had the turkey, cranberry and stuffing. Both rolls were filled to overflowing and came with gravy as well. Absolutely fantastic place. A good variation on the menu and the owner was more than happy to adjust to dietary requirements. Such beautiful food and great value. Lovely attentive service without being overbearing. My son said it was the best chip butty he had ever had and my mum the best egg and chips she had ever had. I personally admired the fried eggs, cooked to perfection and not at all greasy. Lovely idea of a children’s hot chocolates with the “works” at only £1.50 - one of the children’s cake free with the meal.We travelled an hour to specifically come here and it was so worth it. Lovely and clean and will be visiting again in the summer.

Visited today, for lunch, with my one year old daughter. The food was fresh, tasty, and well presented. The ‘proper chips’ were amazing! The gentleman working up front, couldn’t have been more helpful - he offered a highchair without me asking, and helped with getting the pram out when I left. He also set the tea pot down on the table, well out of reach of my daughter - unfortunately, this doesn’t come as standard in a lot of establishments, so this small , considerate act is always appreciated. I also noticed they had a shelf full of children’s books - such a nice touch. I didn’t have time to stay for cake, but will certainly be making a return visit - they looked amazing!

We’ve visited here a few times but unfortunately have stopped going now as feel children really are not welcome. The food is lovely (especially the soup) but one experience put me off going in which my toddler poured the sugar packets from the pot, I left them out for her to play with (not all of them of course) as she was simply lining them up. After a few minutes the woman owner (apologies I don’t know names) told the male to tidy it all up which meant leaning over us and then made my daughter upset. I would’ve of course tidied them up Before we left and did say this at the time. Also found conversation quite hard with the staff and felt like we where a burden for having children there. Again I cannot rave about the food enough but I won’t be visiting again until my children are much older

Went this morning (Sunday). We parked nearby so only a short walk. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We’d booked a table for 4 which was ready and was situated in a little side room which was nicely decorated and warm.

Three of us had afternoon tea. Everything was home-made and delicious. Can't wait to eat there again. Not sure if there was a downstairs washroom, but if you had mobility problems the stairs would be a problem.

Stopped here for drinks prices about average and although the waitress said she was quite new to the job she was very friendly and helpful.

Stopped here for refuelling prior to climbing Holme Moss. Almost didn't after seeing the naff name but glad I did. Good range of snacks and cakes in a cosy tea room. Good service and well presented fresh food at a reasonable price. I was all ready for the climb after my pasty!

My brother had worked frequently in Holmefirth and during a visit there with him and his wife he recommended we have breakfast at The Wrinkled Stocking. We were not disappointed, the breakfast was very good and plentiful. The gentleman who served us was very pleasant and even though it got quite busy nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Doug

Had one of the best gluten free breakfasts I've ever had here. Delicious, well cooked and plenty of it! Friendly, warm and welcoming. All at a great price. Would definitely recommend The Wrinkled Stocking!

As a group of friends we had varied tastes, from cake to quiche, with special dietary requirements. Nothing was too much hassle, great customer service.

We were in Holmfirth for ten days which provided ample opportunities to dine at The Wrinkled Stocking. The atmosphere is great, the staff outgoing and competent, and the food is fabulous. If you want the traditional full English breakfast; this is the place! Do not leave without trying their various desserts. I am back home in the States now and homesick already for Holmfirth and The Stocking!

Went here on a wet Sunday for lunch. Had homemade soup, served in a cup, which I am not a fan of. The bread was a bit old. The chips were ok.

Went here in homage to Nora, but it’s not just for the super-fan. Excellent food and service, and very cosy. Batty’s breakfast was vast & tasty.
