Erics in Kirklees

We visited for new year's eve and we were so disappointed. I've seen people recommend this place time and time again & with the £50pp price tag on the 3 course menu we expected good things. From start to finish it was poor. It took over 10 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order and then they wanted food orders at the same time (all 3 courses). We ordered tap water which never arrived. The food came out really quick so we felt quite rushed. Not enough time between courses. When the food did arrive it was poor quality, the meat was chewy & fatty and portions were small for the hefty price tag. The menu wasn't even the same as the one advertised online. After our desserts we still had drinks to finish, our booking said that we would have 2 hours on the table on it however, 1 hour 15 minutes after arriving we were asked to move to the bar with our drinks because they needed the table (hey had clearly over booked). The bar was far too busy to even stand in so we had to stand in a corner and finish our drinks. At the start we asked to put our coats on the hangers and they were piled on top of so much that it took us 10 minutes to find them and the help of a staff member with their phone torch. The whole place is so cramped, there's barely any room to move around. Music was blaring, more like a club than a restaurant, we couldn't hear each other talk. Such a disappointing experience, our first time visiting, we won't be back that's for sure.

Had the Christmas dinner takeaway for one again this year absoloutley beautifull and such excellant value for money would highly recommend! Worth every penny Thank you!!!

We visit regularly & are never disappointed. Today Friday 20th December as expected the restaurant was extremely busy. The welcome was first class, the service TOP class, friendly, relaxed, not over the top just perfect. The food was as ever Impeccable. Special mention for Elisha & the chef

We had dinner at Eric’s with some friends from Australia. We had a great time, the food was very good and the service was great.

A fabulous restaurant in Lindley Huddersfield. We visited on a Friday evening with friends and received a very warm welcome from the staff. Fabulous choice and the food was amazing and priced reasonably. The staff were attentive without being intrusive . Absolutely loved our first experience of visiting this lovely restaurant and will definitely be back.

Had the lunchtime menu and this did not disappoint. The fish was beautiful and the portions were generous Would def recommend as really good value for money

We hadn’t visited for a while and we were delighted that the food was as fabulous as ever. The food was delicious! Each of the dishes used high quality ingredients and was cooked to perfection. All of the team were attentive and personable. Thomas the maitre d’ was super, friendly and a real asset to ensuring great service and a warm atmosphere.

Wow, once again Eric never fails to impress. The food here is a cut above everywhere else, the combination of flavours is exquisite.

Enjoyable meal during a busy Sunday service. The food was lovely, especially the salmon main course, service was attentive, all in all highly recommended.

Went to Eric's today. My partner and I hadn't booked and just walked in on the off- chance they could accommodate us. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. I wish I'd asked for the girl's name who booked us in because she was amazing; the level of service we got from her was outstanding. The food was fantastic - we savoured every mouthful and didn't want it to end. Superb!!! We do a lot of fine dining tasting experiences and our meal today was 10 out of 10. We've booked again already for the Pimms afternoon tea in a couple of weeks. Reasonably price considering the level of service and the quality of the food.

We opted for the Casual Lunch menu which was three courses for £20. We both agreed it was exceptional value and the food was excellent.

Excellent ambience, food was amazing and the waitress who made the cocktails was brilliant and even write down for us the ingredients to do at home, and the value for money was great .

An exceptional meal enjoyed by all of my eight guests. The choice of food was amazing and the wine first class. Very attentive staff on a busy evening. I had put a lot of thought into where to celebrate with my friends and I could not have chosen better.

We went for lunch (and selected from the casual lunch menu), our first time at Erics. The dining area had a nice ambiance, and was a pleasant space in which to dine. The service was timely and good. Most importantly the food was very good, well cooked and presented, excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to our friends.

An excellent restaurant in a pretty suburb of Huddersfield. We originally intended to try the early dinner summer menu, but the lure of a fillet steak for hubby and calves liver for me, drew us onto the a la carte. We were not disappointed! Both main dishes were cooked perfectly, and portions generous. We started the meal with crabcake and also scallops with chirozo (both superb) so there was no room for dessert. We will return soon!

My husband and I have eaten here a few times both lunch and dinner and have always had great food and service. This dinner was also excellent. My husband had fish and I had lamb, both dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. It is quite pricey but well worth the treat and all the staff are attentive and enthusiastic which makes the dining experience even better.

Only go to this restaurant if you want the best. The food, service and atmosphere is wonderful, you will not get better anywhere else.

Had an absolutely wonderful evening at Eric’s!The food was beautiful, the drinks were lovely and the staff were faultless. Brilliant vegetarian options also. Eric came around the restaurant to speak to customers and ask how our food was which was quite pleasant. Just brilliant service, plus our server Darren was so helpful and friendly.Would definitely recommend.

We used Eric’s outside catering service last year, so had no hesitation in using Eric’s again for my wife’s special birthday. This time however, we asked Eric to deliver to our home and to plate up and present the food so there was nothing for us to do but enjoy the sumptuous spread that was provided. The food arrived on time and was quickly and efficiently laid out by Eric and his assistant, complete with crockery, cutlery and linen napkins! Highlights of the spread were the open beef sandwiches, the smoked salmon fillets, the spicy chicken skewers, the salads and of course the fabulous cakes, brownies, Bakewell tart and the birthday cake. The quality was amazing, and so was the quantity - more than enough for everyone present. We cannot wait to visit the restaurant when restrictions are lifted, and can thoroughly recommend the outside catering service.

My friends bought me one of the cakes as a surprise for my birthday- the chocolate lava cake -WOWIt tasted absolutely incredible and it was huge! Will definitely be ordering again and buying for friends and family too Thanks for keeping us well fed as always Can’t wait to be back in my favourite restaurant

Ordered pink beef Yorkshire pudding wrap on Easter Sunday... £12 for 2 courses, and more than worth it. Huge portion, and the chocolate mousse was lovely. I'd expected a shop-bought giant Yorkshire pud but all home made and so tasty.I even got an extra bonus with an easter egg thrown in for free! No room to eat that just yet though!

If you want something doing properly and special go to Eric’s! Afternoon tea for my birthday photos don’t do justice partly as I’d starting eating out of it before I took the photos 100 percent worth every penny and absolutely tasty!! 2nd time we’ve had a afternoon tea style meal at Eric’s. Another Fabulous meal from Eric and the team. We ordered the braised Lamb, Poached Chicken and the vegetarian option. My daughter and myself have an intolerance to Dairy and Eric was very kind and adapted the poached chicken and the vegetarian dish for us. The food was as delicious as always thank you Eric and your team.

After speaking to Eric directly, my wife and I ordered the stack’em burger takeaway for a Saturday evening pickup. On arrival I was greeted and organised socially distanced seating whilst waiting a few minutes for the food to arrive which was piping hot and packaged well for travel. Despite driving 15 minutes home, the food was still very hot and tasted absolutely delicious. My wife and I loved every bite and can honestly say it was the best burger experience we’ve had in a very long time.Thank you Eric, we cannot wait for you to open properly so we can enjoy the lovely food and wine we have missed so dearly.Thanks again,David

Just finished eating another stunning takeaway meal.....i had the poached chicken which came with lots of different veg,my husband had the braised lamb shoulder which just fell apart,we have had nearly a dozen takeaway meals while we havent been able to go out and i must say that i will miss getting a takeaway meal from erics ,never had a bad one ,we have never had to wait ,well done to eric and his team....it has been really lovely to be able to still have a meal in these horrible times.....well done

Takeaway food was great butBooking was a poor experience. They were busy so said would call back and didn’t.They had more that 8 people inside waiting! Had a time slot but had to wait 20 mins - food made to order when you arrive was not expanded prior. Poor communication- no one knew what was happening. Staff wore masks below nose line and pulled it down to talk- music quite loud so voices had to be raised. Not quite the experience expected from such a place but as said- chef produced a top take away meal. I clearly wasn’t alone in expectations not being met on this occasion.

Advertised as Beef short rib, though the meat was Beef, it certainly was not short rib as it was flat shaped, rather dry and bland. If I was eating this in the restaurant, I would have complained and returned the dish, However, the portion was large and and the Korean sauce was good.

We've had all 3 Gyros for tea.... they were absolutely delicious 🤤 can't recommend Eric highly enough! Thank you 😊🥰🤩

Ordered Eric’s Beef Sunday roast to take away and this was amazing, everything was delicious. Absolutely the best meal we’ve had and the portions size was plenty.

We've ordered quite a few takeaways during lockdown and this last one was the best yet! The duck was cooked perfectly and the potato and celeriac absolutely gorgeous. The pork was very tasty and again cooked perfectly. We didn't order any puddings this time but have had the creme brulee, crumble and pear tart before and all delicious. Portion sizes are very generous and ordering and collecting easy and efficient. Looking forward to the restaurant opening again so we can visit in person!

Amazing food from Eric's as usual! We ordered the Valentines takeaway last weekend and had some issues, leading to a free takeaway this weekend. The food was absolutely gorgeous on both occasions, and Eric was extremely professional and prompt in dealing with any problems. We can't wait for the restaurant to open as we will certainly be paying a visit!

Can’t beat Eric’s Sunday lunch for quality and value for money. So much lovely food cooked to perfection. Best roast potatoes ever!!

Last night was the second treat to Eric’s Winter Takeaway menu. Given the significant portion size of the first treat in January we refrained from ordering side dishes this time, albeit very reluctantly given how much I loved the sweet red cabbage and the cauliflower cheese. The Birthday celebration for two including a birthday cake was phenomenal value for money and a delectable dinner. The lamb hot pot melted in the mouth and the chicken ballotine was a flavour-full delight. My birthday cake was the vegan choice, I’m no vegan but can’t resist a banana cake. Delicious and enough for a family celebration not just for two. Can’t wait for the new menu, although I may be able to squeeze another weekend treat in before the switch! Thank you Eric, amazing as always.

We have now had 2 birthday cakes during lockdown from eric’s a chocolate lava one and a rainbow both cakes was amazing and very fresh and moist, our little girl was over the moon with her rainbow cake and my husband loved his chocolate lava one thank you so much for your awesome cakes and brilliant service looking forward to ordering mine in March

A wonderful meal and a true Yorkshire plate full. We opted for mains and dessert, and as we had previously eaten at Eric's we knew we would not be disappointed. The locally sourced, grass fed roast beef melted in my mouth and was full of flavour accentuated by the rich, silky gravy that came with it. This combined with perfectly cooked, generously sized yorkshire pudding and buttered seasonal vegetables made for a very large plate of food which I savoured every mouthful of.The roast chicken filled with stuffing and wrapped in bacon was tender and juicy. Served with the remaining yorkshire pudding and seasonal vegetables again was another large plate delectable food that My partner was very pleased with.For dessert we opted for a vanilla creme brülee and sticky toffee pudding . Expecting the dessert to be small we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the desserts.The creme brülee was delicately flavoured and silky on the tongue, with a satisfying crack as the perfectly formed caramelized sugar was broken.The sticky toffee pudding was rich and filling leaving me wanting for more.The chocolate truffles that came with the meal were hand made and so good I didn't even get a chance to try them as my partner would not let me get close to them, she enjoyed them that much.I can definitely say that Eric's does not disappoint in the quality of the food or the quantity that you receive, whether you are dining in or under current circumstances collecting a pre prepared takeaway meal with comprehensive re heating heating instructions.I would say Eric's is amongst the top restaurants in Yorkshire (or possibly the UK) making good use of locally sourced produce and filling your boots with perfectly cooked food.

My wife and I ordered the valentine's special, we wanted to have a romantic night meal and since we can't go out to one of our favourite eateries we thought we would do the next best thing and bring the restaurant home. The food was beautiful, it was well prepared with really simple instructions. Our favourites of the night were the pulled pork tacos (Juicy and packed with flavour) and the filo parcel (It was really crisp and paired perfectly with accompaniments and a lovely mustard honey dressing).Eric's made a lockdown valentines day really special. We will be ordering again and can't wait to be back in the restaurant when life returns to a bit of normality.

Valentine/Birthday delightReally am surprised by some of these reviews. We had ordered ours for between 3.45 and 4. We did wait for about 15 mins but to be honest we thought there would be some sort of waiting time because of COVID regulations and distance requirements. The food itself was first rate. I have never been to the restaurant myself but have relatives who rave about it and after sampling the takeaway we will definitely be visiting as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

Quick and easy collection of our order.Starters were delicious. Mains were delicious. Desserts were super. All excellent and plentiful portions!Given COVID restrictions we were pleased not to have to cook and to have something different to look forward while supporting a local business.Thank you Eric!

I appreciate that running a restaurant isn't easy but when the food is pre-ordered days in advance and pre-paid and you have a Covid friendly allotted collection time you'd think it would be a simply enough with good organisation and planning. Clearly Eric's is incapable of either. Fifty four minutes in freezing temperatures and rain while the appalling comedy unfolded and then the order wasn't right. Once home the food was disappointing low grade and almost laughable. The cake was magnificent by the way so it's wasn't all bad...just mostly.Dreadful on so many levels but Covid friendly though hyperthermia was a bigger concern.

I decided to go to Eric's because the standard his high n due to circumstances thought it would be a good idea for Valentine’s with my mrs....I ordered the duck liver pate and the pulled pork for starters can't complain it was nice...where I had issue was the man the chicken was a chicken-breast nothing to the description on the menu at all and had not much flavour the cabbage was not creamy at all and the Yorkshire puddings jus got too hard once re-heated...salmon Wellington was nice but again the veg was disappointing I could of done miles better at home and the food does not justify the price at all...hearing how people had difficulties later in the eve I felt sorry because I knew they would get what we got...gravy also had no flavour and the portions were inconsistent....so yeah disappointing...sorry Eric's got to be honest...

I ordered a special Valentine’s meal to pick up for 6.45. My husband went to collect but had to wait in the rain for over 2 hours and there was a huge queue! By the time he got into the restaurant at 8.40 the food was not even ready. He demanded a refund but still waiting for it to go into my account! An absolute joke! I noticed lots of people complained on the Facebook page which has now disappeared! Clearly they took on too many orders which they could not handle! Demanded money upfront as well! It ruined my evening and a lot of other people’s evening as well! I would stay well away from this place!

Ordered the Valentine’s take out menu for me and my partner. I was not impressed. To start I had to stand in the rain and cold for 25-30 minutes even though I stated I wanted to pick my order up at 17:30. My order was not correct several items missing from my order. The food was of a poor standard. Very poor infact, the pulled pork taco starter was a mockery of pulled pork dumped on a plain tortilla wrap. My partners parfait was soggy and foul tasting. Not to mention the slither of a slice of bread she received. It looked like a meal you would be served on a plane. The main was no better. Roast potatoes were poor, hardly even roasted. And dauphinois potatoes were hard with minimal sauce. The beef was ok. However the beef was served in the takeaway tin with the vegetables which served pink left a blood residue at the bottom of the tray which also covered the vegetables too. The gravy was also watery, who likes watery gravy?! All in all very disappointing, chucked it in the bin and went to McDonald’s. Have tried to contact since but not answer, currently waiting a reply. Having been before and enjoyed my food I’m extremely disappointed. With it been under new ownership I guess it’s just not at the same standard!! See photosHappy Valentine’s Day!!

I cannot recommend Eric's enough both for their service and their food. I sent over a message via their Facebook page (better to ring though) as I totally forgot about a cake for my Son's birthday the next day. I honestly didn't think they would be bale to accommodate my request but they pulled it out of the bag and made a show stopping rainbow cake it looked sensational and tasted so good. The price was only a few pounds more than a standard supermarket one too and this provided much more of a wow factor and made his birthday that little bit more special. I have already said I will be back for all my celebration cake in future. Keep up the good work guys.

Takeaway meals at high end restaurant standards. My family and I have had lockdown meals from Eric’s throughout this period - the latest one was tonight and was a belter. Curry was some of the best I’ve had and the Ribs were succulent. Consistently excellent and well worth the price. Yes, you can buy cheaper, but you can’t buy better and quality costs. Tasty, fresh and full of value. When the restaurant is closed then let the restaurant come to you. Thanks to Eric and his team. #Superb.

My wife wrote a review last night about my visit to Eric's restaurant to collect our meal. She was upset about the long wait I had and the treatment she got when she rang up. However I would like to let you know that when she rang later the gentleman apologised and refunded our payment. We have also got an apology on our answer phone this morning. Eric's must have a bad night but obviously know how to sort things.

Ordered 2 takeaway meals and a Birthday Cake last night. On getting home we realised the cake wasn’t in the carrier. Panic !! No problem, the cake was delivered by Taxi within 30 minutes. Brilliant Service. The meals were excellent and the cake was exceptional. Can’t wait to try your service again.Thank you so much Eric and the Team.

After some initial issues with our previous order, Erics were extremely helpful getting us back on track.. and wow what a result! The sticky Korean beef short rib was one of the most (if not the most) flavoursome beef dishes I've had and it was from a takeaway. The beef with the combination of sides was just as incredible and I enjoyed it to the last mouthful, which was a struggle with the generous portion size!! My girlfriend had the lamb shoulder hotpot which again was amazing and is just what you need on a cold winters night.We were celebrating a birthday and had a chocolate lava cake for dessert (which we had to save until the next day). It was beautifully presented, see pic, and so moreish!I honestly can't wait to try the rest of the winter menu following on from these two dishes. I would whole heartedly recommend Erics. It is restaurant quality food you can take home. Set the table, light some candles, pop the champagne and it almost makes you forget we're still in lockdown!!

I have bought several of Eric's takeaways during the last 9 months, each and every one has been outstanding. I was supposed to be eating Christmas lunch but, unfortunately, lock down (3/4...who's counting anymore?) happened. I opted for the takeaway for 3.....WOW, it was beautiful. More than enough and perfectly presented given the circumstances.I have been eating at Eric's for years, tasting nights, theme nights, general menu's.......this guy genuinely cares about food and service. I cannot recommend this restaurant, or anywhere that Eric has an input enough. I trust him to deliver 100% excellence.Don't think about it.....do it!

Ordered the takeway over the phone only the day before and we were lucky enough to be able to get one!Everything was thoughtfully put together, excellent quality and as close as you can get to the restautant experience. We had the ham hock terrine and goats cheese & caramelised tart for starter, braised beef cheek for main and pudding is yet to be eaten as the portions were very generous! A really enjoyable dining experience, amazing value and it has left us super excited for being able to visit on reopening. Thank you Eric and team :-)

Just wanted to thank you for preparing afternoon teas for us last Sunday (it was ordered as a special request by our daughter for my wife's birthday). We really enjoyed it and she said that it felt so special as normally we would have come to dine at your restaurant but instead you brought it to our dining room! We really appreciate you going out of your way to do this for us on a Sunday. Looking forward to being able to dine at Erics when times get back to normal.We look forward to being able to return to dine at Erics but in the meantime we will continue to enjoy your excellent takeaway offerings.

Ordered heat-at-home meals from Eric’s as a treat in the run up to Christmas and was hugely impressed with the food and the portions. This is absolutely first rate cooking and all of us were impressed with our mains and deserts. The turkey was gorgeous and dauphinois potatoes a delight. All accompanied by a generous portion of top notch veg & gravy. Deserts didn’t disappoint either. The quality of the food and the price make for what must be the best value eat-at-home restaurant-standard food anywhere. The only drawback being the realisation that this food is far better than the food I’ll be serving up to the family on Christmas Day! We’ll be back for more during lockdown and indeed when the restaurant is allowed to open properly again.

Can I just say that I'm not often lost for words, but I have just eaten, but could not finish it, my first Sunday lunch takeaway, we go to erics monthly, so we thought that we would try the takeaway Sunday lunch, to be honest it did take a while to order yesterday, the line was always busy but once we got through it was very fast and easy, my husband arranged to pick up at 5.15, it was ready at 5.15, we live at Mount Tabor, which is the very top of Halifax the lunch arrived very organised, all different containers and tubs, very easy to follow instructions to heat everything up, they were that easy my husband understood them, we ordered extra duphonoise and extra cauliflower cheese but there was no need whatsoever, I ordered the turkey dinner which was stunning and my husband ordered the beef which he said was stunning and there was that much food that I plated a dinner up for my mums dinner tomorrow, I couldn't eat my Yorkshire pudding because there was just too much food, I shouldn't be saying this but I don't know how they make any profit, my first turkey dinner which would of always been at Erics but I did not expect such an excellent takeaway meal, can't wait for Xmas eve.

Well done Eric's for your great takeaway menu. Very tasty and well prepared. A great change from home cooking.

Just had a meal delivered 12/12/20.Absolutely fabulous, well done Eric and your staff. Husband had Chicken Tikka Masala, I had Beef cheeks etc.,then sticky toffee and chocolate brownie puddings.Quality and quantity more than enough, will certainly be ordering again. Best of all...if I had made it myself there'd be more washing up! Well done to you and all your staff and delivery people.

We ordered the Sunday roast takeout and we were not disappointed! Absolutely gorgeous and big portions! Best Sunday roast we have had in a long time! We would definitely recommend and look forward to our next visit!

For my birthday my son bought me Eric’s Christmas Cherry and Almond cake. Absolutely delicious, the best cake that I have ever tasted. Could not recommend it highly enough.

We ordered beef bourginion and coq au vin...faultless.. massive portions.Creme brule and brownies also amazin, definitely going to order again...looking forward to eating at the restaurant when it re-opens..

Ordered takeout beef/chicken Sunday roast for 4 people and wasn’t disappointed. Hugh portions and reasonably priced. Best Sunday Roast in Huddersfield We will be ordering again.

Since we’ve hit lockdown again I new I had to go back to Eric’s for another takeaway. For £10 a head you seriously can’t go wrong. I got the beef shin lasagne and it was incredible. The food was ready to collect on time and very simple to warm up. 10/10.

We've been meaning to go for years but it's always seemed too expensive. We went on last evening before latest lockdown farce for the fixed price meal (£20 2 courses, £25 3 courses). We expected good quality and it certainly was that and some, but there was also much more than we expected given the place's reputation. We forgot to order side dishes (which would make it expensive) but there was enough without.Only disappointment - the wine's all expensive and the cheapest red wasn't worth it at all.We happened to sit in a rather draughty place, probably they were on with this over-ventilation that the Chinavirus demands. Either way, upstairs might be a better bet in future.All in all a success and we'll be returning. There's a dearth of bistros like this in Huddersfield.

Sadly Eric’s has had to close again, but the good news is that the lockdown takeaways are back. Just had the chicken tikka masala, and like all of Eric’s dishes, it was like an orgasm on a plate!

Marvellous takeaway from Eric's tonight, the chicken tikka massala was delicious. Such a shame that the latest lockdown does not allow Eric's to remain open for dine in meals as, on a previous visit, it was clear they had gone to great lengths to provide a safe dining experience. But this was the next best thing and it is a pleasure to support this wonderful business during these hard times

Beautiful, amazing food and excellent service. The meals had the perfect balance of ingredients and the meat was cooked to perfection. Being a birthday celebration we ordered a birthday cake, which was not short of topping or filling and was moorishly tasty. Service was fast, professional and courteous at all times.

Came for a nice evening out before lockdown trying to support local business and what a disappointment. Came to the New York night and placed my order. The starter was good so made me look forward to the main. I ordered New York strip steak with BBQ glaze with French fries and a rocket and Parmesan salad I got steak with wedges with veg and Gravy. When I sent it back they said brought it back and said that’s your salad. It was green beans with broccoli but put some mustard sauce on. When I questioned it the waiter told me he would just keep sending it back and that it was a salad. I will not be going back will go to the Manor House next time.

I never leave bad reviews, but this was something else.Wanted a nice meal out for my birthday before lockdown and to support an independent restaurant. I'd not visited before but was looking forward to it having read reviews. We arrived around 10 mins early for our table and it wasn't ready - fair enough - so were asked to wait in the bar and order drinks. After 45 minutes we still weren't seated and the bar was PACKED with people waiting to be seated, I'm talking London tube levels. Absolutely no communication from the staff about when the tables would ready. Eventually some people complained and we were told the manager would be out in 2 to explain. They did not appear.After 55 minutes we were finally seated and ordered drinks and main courses. We had to remind the waitress after another 20 minutes to bring the drinks. Food arrived at half 9 (1.5 hrs after our 8pm booked table).The main course was nice enough (I had venison) but not £26 + a 55 min wait in a room full of people during a pandemic nice. The sauce made everything taste slightly burnt. My sides were not the ones on the menu, but at this point I was just happy to be fed! We assumed we'd then be asked to leave given the 10pm closing deadline but we were brought dessert menus so thought sod it. The dessert (brownie) was delicious. Kind of made up for the slightly disappointing main.We've been sensible during all this, haven't been to any pubs, try not to go to the shops, only been out to eat a couple of times. I'll be sticking to my regular restaurants once lockdown is lifted and I won't be visiting Eric's again, absolutely no thought to Covid restrictions. Half the waiters weren't covering their nose with their masks (literally what is the point of wearing it then). Put it this way, if I catch it, I know where from.

Fantastic meal and service on Saturday night. Tables nicely spaced out, hand sanitizer on the tables, and as ever, the staff were great. Looking forward to our next visit.

We visited Eric's on Thursday evening for my birthday. In the current circumstances the welcome was warm and genuine. The menu full of seasonal vegetables and meat. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The separate vegetarian menu was a joy to be hold, rather than the usual veggie fare. I loved my blackberry mocktail. My partner thought his blackberry and apple tart with crumble topping was the best dessert he's had in a long time. And my daughter who has some professional training highly rated the venison with ravioli. We will definitely be back soon .

As a regular visitor to Eric’s I can say I wasn’t disappointed to visit during these uncertain restricted times. Service was great, atmosphere great, social distancing in place! Not to mention the excellent food and drinks! I have been for the tasting menu numerous times and have never been let down! What delicious, innovative food! Well done Eric!

My husband and I went for mid week lunch. 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25. The food was delicious as always. Staff were friendly,smart and polite. We don't go out very often but this is one of our favourite places to go as a little treat. Would definitely recommend and we will be back to try the Christmas menu in December.

Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch and despite the difficulties of the times we are living in everything felt very safe and very well organised. The food was excellent and the choice very impressive even for the two vegetarians in our family. A lovely atmosphere and excellent, attentive service, we will definitely be returning, thankyou x

My husband and I were given some vouchers for our wedding anniversary so we’re really looking forward to our visit, we were greeted by a pleasant gentleman that had a mask under his nose (no point wearing it) so didn’t make me feel comfortable, his dress for such a high end restaurant was also disappointing, dirty shoes, his apron and trousers stained, he wasn’t the only member of staff not up to scratch, now the service and the meal were very nice and the staff were very attentive, sorry to say we would not rush back.

We visited for Sunday lunch and even in these difficult times the atmosphere and welcome was excellent so we felt very safe from the moment we went in.The food as always was excellent and the choice for Sunday lunch is so varied but the traditional roast beef dinner is the best I have had out. The service was excellent also and were very attentive. Definitely worth a visit

Eric’s used to be a firm favourite for myself and my family, I can whole heartedly understand that due to the recent pandemic restaurants are working on skeleton staff and reduced menus but our experience here was diar! We were greeted by a rude and ignorent ‘manager’ if you can call him that? (Darren) Who unfortunately waited on our table for most of the afternoon, which consisted of a miserable face, constant sighs and bad attitude followed by an disappointing Sunday lunch. The meat was over cooked and vegetables stale we loved Eric’s and hopefully we came on just a bad day!Send your ‘manager’ back to school or get rid!

The Sunday lunch is great value for money and the choices on the menu are the best around. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

Back to Eric's for a birthday celebration meal. Excellent menu and service as ever . Restaurant well organised to deal with Covid security rules so we felt very secure. Look forward to the next visit

Booked a table for 2 for Sunday lunch.warm welcome received by the bar staff and taken straight to our table,ambience is beautiful cosy and warm,small scuff marks on the wall which may need attention but over all look of Eric’s Restaurant was beautiful.. tomato and basil soup was very nice served along with bread and butter,personally I would have liked 2 pieces of bread per person instead of one each..For the mains we had roast beef with all the trimmings and giant Yorkshire puddings.. Again personally I felt the Yorkshire puddings are too big which take over the plate,smaller version would look beautiful not covering the meat and veg.The beef was lovely but I had asked for a sharper knife as the cutlery provided did not cut the meat,I would suggest steak knifes to be served for cutting meat,veg and potatoes were delicious along with the gravy.. sticky toffee pudding was Devine..This was my first visit and I’d love to return for sure.

Well we very rarely write reviews but this one HAD to be written. We have eaten at Eric’s for the last five years and it has always been great. We went before lockdown and it was ‘ok’ as the staff were not great at delivering what we requested but put it down to a busy night. We returned this evening for a Sunday lunch menu. The beef did smell like it had been burnt, it wasn’t burnt but the smell it emanated was very unpleasant, upon tasting it it didn’t taste right (if I’d of cooked this at home I would have told my guests not to eat it)!We decided to tell the staff about our opinion and we were told the chef Eric would speak with us about it. We explained the situation, more so he knew what we had experienced and some people may not voice their opinion, they would probably just not return. Eric came out to speak with us and was confrontational, borderline abusive and damn right rude!! Maybe he thinks that our opinion doesn’t matter as Eric’s is a popular restaurant BUT we will NOT be visiting again and we will be spreading this experience far and wide!! Shame on you for your incredible bad business skills and loss of loyal customers.

The food isn’t bad but it isn’t exquisite ! It isn’t delicate but the taste isn’t bad. Service is average. Wines by the glass : no huge choice unfortunately

I’ve eaten at Eric’s several times over the years, and once since reopening during the COVID pandemic. The food has always been outstanding, the ambiance relaxed and the staff friendly. Our most recent trip was all of the above, as well as feeling very COVID safe, with no negative impact on the enjoyment of the experience or the attentiveness of the staff.It’s pricy, but well worth it for a special meal out or celebration!

My mum and I booked a meal at Erics, our favourite restaurant, to celebrate our birthday. Even with the new Covid measures, our experience was a special as always. The cocktails, wine & food we’re absolutely divine. Everything is executed to perfection. I’m a long time fan of Erics & each time I visit I don’t think it could get any better but it really does. I had scallops then venison and the taste is out of this world. I’m looking forward to trying to get booked on one of Erics special tasting evening as they always look exquisite. Well done to Erics & team. We felt super safe & thoroughly enjoyed our exceptional meal.

We traveled from North Leeds after seeing such good reviews on tripadviser about Eric’s Restaurant and we love trying new places and fine dining We visited on a Saturday night as a couple, when we arrived the bar tender was welcoming and asked us what drink we would like while we waited for our table. He was very professional but been a small bar area we could hear the staff bickering behind the bar. But we were soon seated to our table upstairs and ordered a bottle of wine. Our waiter seemed a little inexperienced as when we was ordering we asked about the side maple roots for advice and he said it was like rocket.. which it wasn’t but for a fine dining restaurant we just would of expected the staff to be more knowledgable about the food. We decided to go for 3 courses .. which were the Ham Hock as they ran out of chicken and the Scallops. Both starters were lovely and flavoursome. For main we went for the duck and the bbq pork loin, with the pork main my partner felt the bbq pork loin was dry and was out of place and should be replaced with a larger portion of the belly pork and dauphinois potatoes as they were amazing.The duck was lovely again a little dry but overall was enjoyable with the sweet potato and sauce. The veg was cooked to perfection for both and really complimented the dishes.The desert was the best for us .. we went for a trio sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and fruit crumble . Wow all were amazing ! We did also ask for a expresso but this never turned up and had to get it removed from the bill in the end.At the end of the meal the waiter brought the bill and it had £60 worth of food we hadn’t ordered on it.. I felt again due to lack of experience he should of checked it before, I had to ask to ask for this to be removed. Overall the food was lovely, slight tweaks it would be even better! The service could be improved a lot and we would love to return if this was sorted, maybe as all the servers were young they could maybe have some guidance from someone who was more experienced ? One final tip the food mainly came warm but could do with been hotter. Thanks again!

A regular visitor to Eric’s, everything is always first class. Very friendly and welcoming staff, nothing is too much trouble and of course the food is always excellent.In these times of COVID the tables are well spaced all the staff wear masks, sanitisers readily available,attention to detail is as is should be. Couldn’t fault anything.

We visited Eric's to take part in his six course Santorini themed tasting menu. Every course was superb with different tastes on each one which were cooked and presented to perfection. Served as usual by friendly professional staff.

Another evening of fine dining at Eric's. The Greek Island cuisine was superb. If we had closed our eyes we could have been in Santorini. The service and ambiance was perfect. The music complimented the evening. Once again another awesome evening at our favourite restaurant. It doesn't get any better than this.

Another superb meal at Erics. The service was perfect, friendly engaging staff always on hand to ensure everything was perfect. We recommend the early bird set menu, great choice and value. Portion sizes are huge. Thanks for a great night !!

We had another delicious meal at this gem of a restaurant , starting with Thai soup which was amazing and very delicious , some had excellant fillets and the sea bass was beautiful as we have come to expect here. Very elegant restaurant with delightful waiting staff . Great - come with a healthy appetite Eric does not do portions for the faint hearted .

How lucky were David and I to have planned our wedding mid local lockdowns!! Thank you so much for being so Covid friendly accommodating!! All comments were that the food was amazing. Your staff were both friendly and attentive. Great job well done, thank you Eric for making our day so special!!

Had a beautiful meal celebrating my husband’s birthday at Eric’s. Great new Autumn menu to choose from. The venison was delicious and just melted in your mouth and my husband just had to have the steak which is always perfectly cooked to his taste and has the autumnal flavor with the accompaniment. The cocktail menu is seasonal as well picking out the flavors of Autumn with a twist to some of the classics. My husband recommends the nonalcoholic cocktails too so you don’t feel left out if driving. Great atmosphere and very friendly, welcoming staff. We are so lucky to have this fab restaurant on our doorstep.

Yesterday we visited Eric’s for the Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint! I have never tasted roast beef as good! Hands down the best Sunday lunch we have had. If you’re looking for something this weekend I would definitely book here!

We called Erics to be told that unfortunately they were no longer offering a full take out service, however obviously sensing the disappointment in my voice, they offered to make an exception and plate us up some sunday dinner. The sunday dinner was exceptional, the portion size generous and the sides were also brilliant. We will be back and thank you for answering our last minute call.

Today is the first day we have been to Erics since it closed due to lockdown. We have had many takeaways but the first dine in experience this year. Food, service and atmosphere was 10/10. The best roast I’ve ever had. Will be back very soon. Highly recommend.
