Came to the woddies on busy Friday night. Food was amazing and customer service were brilliant too. Epically when staff were ran off there feet. Will definitely return

Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Best medium rare steak I've had in a long time. Family friendly, very helpful with our crying baby. Manager checked several times that we were happy and to see if we required anything. All in all a very relaxing afternoon out with family.

Popped in for food and a couple drinks on Sunday evening, the pub wasn’t that busy which was lovely for us. Food was lovely, I had the loaded surf and turf which I would highly recommend, props to the chefs on shift that evening. Even though it’s bar service, speedy drinks and happy, friendly service. The lovely tattooed woman who is a new manager is absolutely delightful, very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much for her. Will be back again with friends.

I Come In for a meal with my friends as we usually come to the woodlands and have not been in for a while so we thought we would all meet there, wishing we didn’t now ! What has happened to the woodlands ! The food was fine never had a problem with the food always been amazing, the service was terrible, slow the team looked like they did not want to be there ! Outside full of rubbish and cigarettes ect I could carry on ! As we was leaving, who we thought was the assistant manager was talking very loudly and drunk about how he is holding General manager. Where has the landlord gone with spikey hair ?

Despite being very busy (being 40% off mains night) the food was fabulous! We did have to wait a while but we were warned. Staff are very friendly and always smiling even at their busiest! Amazing scran, great atmosphere and interesting characters the woodlands has much too offer and will certainly be coming back with more friends. The staff are super friendly and deserve a pay rise. They were really helpful and made our experience something to remember and that lanky lad is an absolute gem. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Came for lunch on Monday 4th, served by Brian on the bar. Cocktails were lovely in the sunshine & the sides we ordered to snack on arrived quickly & were very tasty. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again in the future.

Lovely clean pub food was delicious. Overall the visit was great. The staff seam run off their feet seam to be doing a million things at once. Didn’t stop the level of service I do need to put clear . But I wouldn’t like to see how much they have to do at the weekend when it’s more busier. Food standards and service have took a massive step up in here.

Went to the woodlands for lunch. Staff always very nice and like to have a chat with the customers. Food is always nice and hot and well presented and nothing ever seems to much bother for the staff. Look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful meal out with my family, table service was fantastic my app wouldn't work so the two members of staff helped to put the order through for us.We couldn't fault a thing the level of service was second to none even tho the staff levels compared to the the customers in the pub , the staff didn't let this differ their level of service to us. We stayed for a couple of hours table was cleared quickly. we finished off with a fab pudding.

Visited the Woodland with family all covid safe, service was above and beyond from start to finished we were looked after from start to finish. would highly recommend the woodland to friends and family, not been in here for many years but seams its food and service has massively improved.

Visited the woodland last night with family , outstanding service from all the staff. Tables getting cleaned , all covid safe , food was limited on the menu but very tasty. Lovely atmosphere outside , staff seemed very busy with all the tables ... and a bonus the sun was shining . Will definitely visit again.

Visited December with family ,Fantastic food and service all covid measures in place , we visited for breakfast with Santa and the whole experience was brilliant start to finish!Level of service along with Santa and an amazing English breakfast I’m looking forward to next month when they re-open.

Just wanted to thank all the staff at the Woodland for their hard work tonight. I used the 'Order at Table' app it was lovely not having to queue up. Everything was brought in a timely manner, food and drinks were just as ordered and the staff were really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and it cheered me up no end seeing such a nice team working together. So here's a personal thank you to Mick, Sean, Nathan, Shane, Jessie and Dave.

Booked again because of terrys hospitality and Natalie's warm, professional service even though they seemed short staffed.I watched as they worked the front door booking in parties then behind the bar helping out to ease the queues to serving food. Me and my boyfriend stopped off at your pub today as we’re visiting in a hotel near by and awaiting check in. The service we had was impeccable. A waitress called Jessie was really sweet. She told us about near by attractions and things to do whilst we wait for the hotel to be ready. We couldn’t fault her and she went above and beyond for us.The pub was very clean and lots of measures put in place for Covid. Next time we visit Chester, we’ll definitely visit again.

We visited for food and drinks, expecting a packed pub and having to wait a long time for service. We were pleasantly surprised. We booked online and turned up a little early, we were seated 15 minutes early. Service wasn’t the fastest but was more than fast enough considering that all the COVID measures were being followed fantastically. Terri, our waitress was lovely, happy and friendly. The atmosphere was great and it felt safe. The food was brilliant!

What a tremendous meal we had, thanks to Steve and Noodle in the kitchen, and Teri our hostess. The food was cooked to perfection (mega mixed grill and buttermilk chicken stack) with no wastage and not a single bad mouthful. Service was exceptional, quick and friendly. Also everything was done really well to ensure safety of customers and staff. Thanks guys.

It was out our first time our family went out in the pub and I have to say the host on the door, Terri was quick to explain how things worked. We were introduced to our server , Reece who took us to our table and made sure our evening was a very pleasant one. He was very helpful, polite and friendly. Popped in post lockdown on a weekday. The lovely host Terry explained the new procedure to ensure our safety during our visit. Clear instructions throughout. I felt safe and the food was prompt and delicious. Very enjoyable.

Nice to see the bar area and the outside tables are now open.my concern is the 2 hr time limit.I understand the dining being 2 hr slots for tables but 2 hrs for drinking? I was asked to leave after my "2 hr slot" yet the pub was almost empty, I pointed this out and and said I would re book another 2 hr slot but was then told I was only allowed 2 hrs for drinking and wouldn't be served??? And must leave. I along with many other "drinkers" feel this is an excessive rule and therefore will not be returning until some semblance of sanity has returned to our local.Went wetherspoons,Jessops then the Gunners, no time limits on drinking and certainly wouldn't refuse service after the 2 hrs when theres plenty of empty tables.

The interior needs an update , damaged seats, walls scuffed. The exterior to the rear is poor, benches could do with replacing, benches at the front have been painted blue in an attempt to freshen them up but the paint is coming off because the wood is too weathered.The food is generally good. Good selection of drinksBut If you are visiting as a family or just wanting meals DO NOT visit if there is a big football match on. F this, F that- non stop. The locals have no shame, they will stand at the bar swearing while customers are placing food orders. The staff don’t say a single word.The locals will swear even if there’s no football but it’s a no go for families if the football is on. I have seen the general manager sitting at one of the tables when customers are constantly swearing and you and your staff do nothing! Tip. Put a sign up at the bar telling your customers we do not tolerate swearing and you may be asked to leave! Or have sizzlingpubs remove the “warmest of welcomes” and “fun family meal out” from their website!Btw. There is no need to put a reply below asking me to phone to discuss or that you take feedback seriously because you don’t.

Back in the woodies tonight for food and drinks, music & atmosphere was really good, food was spot on. This place used to be the place to be years ago and looks like it's back to it's best!!😁 HIGHLH RECOMMEND!

Cannot be beaten for value for money and service . Not forgetting the great food , compliments to Wes & Natalie in the kitchen , fabulous food , try the Great American platter cooked to perfect. We also had a bottle of the house wine Coopers Select , really good , easy drinking and complex with grapefruit and melon tones . Sorry if I have not got the names of the bar staff , but all part of the Woodlands team . Great place and well managed with warm comfortable atmosphere, we always get a window seat , and watch Ellesmere Port go by .

Came to see my family over Xmas and we went woodlands waited over 5 mins for a toilet for my son and to find out 3 fellas came out at once and then found out had no toilet seat

As we had guests staying for the festive period we thought we'd take them for a drink on Christmas day. Having checked the opening hours on the website, we arrive 2 hours before the advertised closing time. Our guests weren't even through the door properly before the staff yelled in stereo 'we're closed'. Absolutely disgusted!

I've only given a rating of 1, because I couldn't submit with a rating of zero. Noticed on the pub website that the opening times for Christmas Day were 10am - 6pm. Arrived at 4.02pm to be told rather brusqely 'We're closed!' Their loss, I suppose. We won't be going back, and I won't recommend anyone I know to visit. Season's greetings, not!

We had a lovely meal here and met up with friends for a few drinks after. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was great, resulting us staying longer than planned! Everyone was very helpful and we will definitely be visiting again when in the area.

Came here with my family whilst visiting other family. The food was delicious and they catered fantastically for my husbands allergies plus a great choice of food for my children. Staff were very friendly and helpful we will definitely be back when visiting in the area again

Lovely pub big difference haven’t been in for years and live on the door step. Lovely food service was 10/10, lovely to see the little flowers in the toilets nice touch .

Went for a family meal today and the atmosphere was great food was fantastic. Table was clean well presented and nothing too much for the staff. The manager was fantastic even booked a xmas meal there he has a great sense of humour polite and very professional your company got a good people person there great asset to sizzling pubs he is always smiling and so helpful better than other managers in other pub chains will be eating there from now on thanks dave and sizzling for a great meal and fun family time 5 star rating
