We had a lovely Sunday dinner. Food was great staff very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend we are going back for sure. Been back lots and as always beautiful food thanks to all of the lovely staff

Today we had the best takeaway Sunday Lunch ever. Succulent pork with fantastic veg and a banging yorkie all in all a real stunner.

Been dining and eating here for years. Always excellent food and a good welcome. I you are cycling or walking the canal it is a perfect stop off place.

It's actually a decent pub but for a place that sells food, the conservatory is filthy. The food was ok and the beef was plentiful but come on people don't want to eat in a place that needs a good clean.

Never been here before but took family here for an evening meal , very run down interior but our reserved table was in the conservatory , very cold and crammed 9 of us onto table more suited to 6 . Asked to be reseated inside and created table layout to suit ourselves ! Most disappointing thing though was the fact we had to wait nearly 2 hours for our meal which for a fairly empty pub was ridiculous ; at no point were we told how long and when i originally asked was told they could not tell me . Had we been forewarned when we arrived we would have left and gone elsewhere .... when food eventually arrived was ok but overpriced for what it was . Will not be visiting this establishment again .

What a nice find this was... Lovely place felt comfortable as soon as you walked in... Service was friendly... The rooms were lovely and clean, really nice space... The food we order was really good, steak was melt in your mouth... Would recommend

The section we had was not heated, it was a cold day and some people kept their jackets and coats on. I think it could be well lit too especially the section where food was displayed (buffet) The bartender was very good. The sign to the ladies loo can be improved. The food was not bad at all.

Fabulous food meats melt in your mouth and everything is so flavoursome. Not cheap by any standards but for the quality of food it's well worth it. Mixed grill is too much for 1 normal person but great quality, Steak and wings was to die for. From the mussels, brie wedges, calamari to garlic mushrooms nothing could be faulted.

Poor choice of beers, none on hand pump when I visited. Good food and inexpensive. Convenient location if walking the canal. Pleasant conservatory and beer garden (if weather permits!)

Not badly priced drinks. Quick drink service. Could do with a good clean. The carpets had dropped food on them :)

We booked a large table for a group event and were met with poor attitude from our server, this was explained as due to large walk on group which had cleaned the kitchen out of several items. Our spirits were still high as our expectations were limited, decent food and a good atmosphere was really all we were looking for. Our server continually seems frustrated by our large party (despite our pre booking). Simple requests such as condiments or a stake knife was met with distain. In addition to this starters and mains were brought out as they were ready. This lead to several people having eaten both while other starters where still yet to arrive. One of our groups meal came out so late that everyone had completely finished eating. We held out hope, however when my long awaited ribs arrive I tucked in with great hope. While they looked appealing and fell of the bone, they were completely devoid of flavour. If you like poor service and sub par food this is the establishment for you.

OMG What a fantastic Sunday dinner the food was amazing. Mi partner had the regular dinner I paid the £2 extra to go big.!(wish I didn’t) because there were too much but I did manage it all lol. The staff are amazing and not in your face and nothing is too much trouble for them. I will be returning 👍

We have just visited this pub for a Sunday roast after a recommendation by an Asda employee. We had the beef Sunday roast. The food was really tasty and is the best Sunday roast we have had for some time. We will definitely be returning. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The staff were friendly but had to wait an age, had to go up to the bar to get service. The food was horrid burnt, over salted and just all around not nice. The mens toilets were in a terrible state. Would definitely not return or recommend.

Lovely food every day of the week, and Sunday lunch is fabulous, very generous portions, home cooked veg and loads of meat. Highly recommend!

We popped by to get some food to go! We ordered the pork belly steak and also the prawn chilli pasta and they were both amazing! Very happy and will definitely be returning!

I visit this place once a week for a get together with likeminded friends. The food is excellent and prices are very good, Would definitely recommend the NFC Chicken in a basket as my favourite item on the menu. The Barmaid / Waitress is always excellent with our group whilst being friendly and engaging which makes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Sending a big thanks to the Owner and his Magnificent Barmaid for all their hard work and dedication, See you next Wednesday!

Very poor quality from the carvery. It looked like the food had been out for a long time, small thin cut meat slices. Very disappointing

Called in for food and it was terrible. We ordered the Lasange for the main course and the Lasagne was bland, the garlic bread was dry and inedible and the red pepper in the salad was slimy. The reply from the staff member was that the chef sends his apologies. Will not be going back!

We went for a Sunday dinner. It was delicious. Plenty of everything on our plates. Given a choice of traditional or sweet potato mash. Different meats available. LOTS OF GRAVY which is a must for Our Family. The place is a traditional pub. Clean and staff friendly.

Stayed the night as a stopover from a long drive, rooms all you need for a nights sleep. Had a meal for 3 people, food was absolutely lovely, one of the best meals we’ve had out. Would thoroughly recommend and if we lived closer would be back frequently. Great price too. Lovely, friendly staff.

arrived 2:15pm on thursday, only had a few customers. they are doing special offer 2 meals for £15 lunch during the week. we ordered fish and chips, and steak pie. borh meals were tasty. no complaint. we also ordered a mixed grill. it was a large meaty dish.

Hi, Myself and my Friends went for a Christmas Dinner last night. 20th December. I can honestly say the Food was amazing, All 3 courses for £19.95 was a bargain!! Service was great, nothing too much trouble. All of my Friends loved it. Definitely recommend going for Food!!

High quality food at reasonable prices. Only reason no 5 stars on atmosphere is it was a quiet Tuesday evening.

Terrible place went after a business meeting it's second time I've been and rude staff young girl called clare or chloe with a attitude and some poor lad having to clean up vomit in the toilet and her laughing refusing to help him I ended up asking another male staff member to help him out the young girl stood giving horrible looks and gave me attitude its nit the forat time either as she was just sat at bar on her phone forst time I went here and everything was a effort but the young lad was very polite and helpful I believe he was called Liam or leigh. I was planning to bring staff from my company and book a few rooms while here but the girl didn't help or interested even told me not to bother and to go to the lockeeper as there rooms were awful not something u expect from staff when I had my food serve she just slammed it on table knocking my drink and nit even an apology just stares so I swore I'd not go back again sadly a.memeber of my team went the following week and must have been served by same girl as I was told she had a attitude problem so we be taking out service elsewhere from now on and def not be booking any meetings there or rooms. And food wasn't all that either I'm sad to say and prices are stupidly High too. Sooner go to weatherspoons haha

After redecoration this pub has lost its friendliness. Dark grey walls are depressing. A bit rowdy, sound carries all around the pub from the rhs of the pub. Didn't have a meal, did not feel comfortable. One pub where open plan doesn't work.

Booked a room here for a one-night stay and left very satisfied. Pub quite lively with a good atmosphere... you could hear shouts and people having fun until closing time. Staff super friendly and showed me ropes on arrival. Rooms are a good size and beds comfortable and bouncy. Was very impressed by the period features and woodwork - visually very impressive. Loved the no fuss, easy key box checkout system. Noticed a cool BBQ area in the beer garden. Hope to come in summer for a spit roast 😁

Excellent home cooked food and reasonably priced, stayed for a couple of nights and the room was very clean and spacious, very good location for exploring many local attractions, very helpful and friendly staff. Overall we had an excellent stay and would definitely return.

Service was absolutely shocking took a very long time and the peppercorn sauce was really runny and food wasn’t great either. The waitress was also passing hot food over my 2 year old sisters head instead of walking around the table and was very rude to me.

Booked here only stayed 3hrs the double room was not very nice ,unironed bedding ,bathroom needs complete refurbishment, we left didn't sleep there ,bedding and pillows smelled .never again

Our first visit here even after living in Worksop for almost 30 years. Great food proper home cooked, a good menu plenty of choice something for everyone. Will definitely come again, reasonably priced, friendly staff.

Didn't eat. Just stayed night. All your needs are sorted. Power shower. Plug didn't work but it's su.mer. large TV. Complimentary tea and coffee but no coffee. Comfy bed large room and USB points. Not bad.

We have just been to the wood house Inn as a party of 6 for Fathers Day lunch. We love this pub as just laid back and friendly. In the winter there’s a couple of cosy log fires and in the summer a conservatory and beer garden. The outside furniture def needs an update and some colour but apart from that it’s great. What can I say about Sunday lunch but wow. £11.95 for a regular Sunday lunch gets you up to 3 meat choices. The meat was well cooked and plentiful. Roast potatoes done around the meat, buttery mash, carrots, parsnips and Leaks. On the side was a generous portion of broccoli cheese. The Yorkshire pudding was light as a feather and huge. All the usual Sunday lunch sauces available. The only down size was the gravy. Plenty of it and hot but on the watery side. For the 6 of us we all agreed it needs thickening up more please. The service as always was good and the waitresses were excellent. We eat in this pub normally on a Saturday with friends once a month. We’ve converted to a Sunday now.

Visited the pub for the first time and I met with a friend who had been before. We both ordered the toasted melt sandwiches and I asked if one could be made into a vegetarian option, I was met with a yes from the bar staff. The food came out served with salad and chips, the food was very tasty and the chef did a fantastic job of adapting this to meet my needs, I was very impressed. The restaurant is reasonably priced we both opted later for desserts, nice big portions and worth the money. The two bar staff who dealt with our orders, were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return again. Thank you for a nice meal.

Food was ok, waited about 45 mins and only a couple of other customers in. Wouldn't want to go when it's busy. Pub could do with a tidy up, looks quite run down and dated. Only 1 person behind the bar and serving food so we ordered from the bar and got our own drinks. Felt quite "grubby". Menus were covered in beer and sticky. Wouldn't have hurt to wipe them down instead of apologising for them being thrown on the bar getting covered in beer!

Nice place to eat and have a drink and enjoy ya day/night would defoo recommend

Go to the woodend on a regular basis and all staff are spot on.. foods great all homemade cant beat it

Brilliant pub and the meals are am

The room was fine but on the first day of our stay, a Sunday, when there were no other guests, a heated argument could be heard around midnight and a male voice was heard, possibly on the phone, outside our room in the early morning, around 3am. This apparently was a member of staff who had an apartment in the pub. There is a dog kept inside also that barked in the night. I reported this to another member of the staff. We will not stay there again!

A bit of a mess, the men's toilet leaves much to be desired, but apparently there is a good bid here on Sundays and nice gentlemen pour beer. It's not bad

Sadly the beer seemed to be off. The four of us left half drunk pints, which is unheard of. Although the staff were pleasant, our complaints did not result in replacements. We did not stay for lunch.

Not visited for a while... Thank you Covid... Was ready for something to eat... Knew this was local... A pleasant greating the "bar side" was comfortably busy nice to see these days... I had a cheese n pickle sarnie Ar girt had a fish finger sarnie both of us enjoyed the fare If'n you're in the area do your self a favour & pop in.

If you want a full plate of food, fresh vegetables, plenty of meat and all with friendly service then come to the Woodhouse Inn. Fabulous sunday lunch, gorgeous tasting gravy and we chose all three meats and got absolutely loads. None of your chain pub stuff here. The Manager Stuart is so welcoming and can't do enough to help. Highly recommend.

Sunday lunch take away absolutely fantastic, every mouthful wash a delight to eat. Would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great Sunday lunch.

This is a really nice pub with a good sized beer garden. The food was very nice indeed, cooked beautifully and well presented. The staff are lovely and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Highly recommend.

Terrible bar staff. Rude and had no respect for us. We ordered food and that was too much trouble for her. Through the cutlery on our table. We cancelled our order and would never go back again. Very amateur staff overall.

I ordered a delivery which was pasta marinara they delivered king prawn pasta which I am very allergic to when I rang they were too busy to sort out the problem and did not have any concern for my allergy to prawns they were too...

First time in the Woodend (Woodhouse Inn) for a really long time due to previous management so that's how long. So a walk from Shireoaks with the dogs that were made extremely welcome and looked after with water bowl on arrival. We had really good beer and wine and the food was very good. A Mediterranean pasta dish and the fish pie. Both meals were delicious and HOMEMADE. Fantastic staff, lovely locals and great food, couldn't wish for more. Will definitely be back soon.

Went with a friend for a local lunch...my friend ordered cod loin on a bed or pesto risotto...the fish was not loin like a frozen flabby grey piece of tail with muchy peas and some flabby potato cake that didn't even taste like potato...the BEST...

Excellent home cooked food, nice choice of drinks and friendly staff eaten here 4 times now and not had a bad meal, there's always plenty of it and they change the menu as the year goes on

The staff are very welcoming, we stopped the night it was clean the shower was good aswell but could of done with a bath mat, and had a kettle tea, coffee, milk and sugar for you to have a drink. This is not a criticism but it would of been nice to have a little information in the room such as time you need to check out in the morning and a little about the area. We booked a meal for the evening that was excellent and once again the staff were very professional. Will definitely go there again
