Really disappointing and expensive. No vegan options. In the past Iā€™ve asked for mushrooms on toast, (in the absence of a vegan option), and I got lovely field mushrooms on sour dough toast. This time I got a thin covering of slimy mushrooms on a white bap with 3 thin slices of tomato. Pretty poor. Most places have a least a pack of veggie sausages in their freezer! My coffee was nice and husbands breakfast bap was ok, but overall really disappointing for a birthday brunch.

We use this place most weeks after our walk and as mentioned previously, the cafƩ still isn't open. This is less of an issue now the weather is improving. There's blurb about the NT and the roof or something but I can't help thinking that the current situation suits. Hardy walkers are warmed up after a walk and in need of refreshment. The business doesn't have heating bills and they don't need waiting staff. They simply take your name, use a loud speaker to call you and you collect. The staff are definitely not warm and chatty, they take your order, fiddle around for ages, put your order out and shout your name. Food is good quality but overpriced, especially as it is in effect, a takeaway.

Poor veggie choice, bap with cheese on onion or cheese on tomato, didn't want onion, and I don't eat tomatoes i asked to have cheese on mushroom, as my husband was having mushrooms with his sausage & bacon bap. No, that's not a permitted choice. Large latte was lukewarm and cold, all prices expensive. Went here as TripAdvisor recommended, but that looks like distant past. Very disappointed with my my visit this week. I walk here regularly, and on every visit with go to the tea room for coffee and cake, quite often I am with somebody else. So usually purchasing at least two coffees and cakes. I have no complaints about the quality of the coffee and cakes, even though they are expensive , however I was very disappointed this week when I presented my loyalty card and all of a sudden, I was informed that instead of getting a stamp for each drink, they now just stamp per visit! I'm not sure when this was introduced because I know very recently I have always had a stamp for each drink purchased, so maybe it's been taken over again by somebody else and they've changed this? however the whole point of a loyalty card is to try encourage people to visit again. The prices are very expensive for what you get so I would at least expect one stamp per drink, so basically what they are saying is even if you buy 6 coffees for the people that you are with you will only get one stamp I think they need to revisit this because it's last left a nasty taste no pun intended. I visited at least twice and forgotten to present my card so it's not like they are missing out but maybe they will be in future

We were really looking forward to our visit as I used to go there often on our Sunday club rides. Shame to see the actual pub was closed but it was the tea and scone that was on our minds. After paying 4.50 to park ( as to be expected with NT) we headed for the tea room which has now changed slightly with the seating at the back. We ordered 2 teas and 2 cream scones. The cost of Ā£14.40 was a little pricey but, again based on past experiences we weā€™re happy to pay for what I expected to be a teapot, cups and saucer etc. Having tried to find a table with less wasps than those near the overflow used pots tray, we were then called over what can only be described as a PA system to collect our order. 2 teas served in takeaway cups (not biodegradable) and the scones looked lovely I have to add. In the time it took for me to grab a napkin, my jam was literally covered with wasps and 3 were attached to the pot. Now, understandably the end of August is not the best time to avoid these critters when expecting to eat outside. This however was unbearable. I abandoned mine and we moved seats again. We were defeated and took our takeaway teas (now became a benefit) and walked with them minus the scones. All in all a total waste of money, Ā£18.90 spent for a walk with tea in a cardboard cup!

We had been looking forward to visiting after hearing great things so saved this for a final treat to end our holiday. When we arrived the car park had been closed to allow for outdoor seating meaning we had to pay Ā£4.50 per car to parkā€¦. Then we found there was no inside seating but the outside set up seemed ok although it was threatening to rain the umbrellas seemed to keep the light drizzle away. We ordered ( 3 breakfast baps which at Ā£8 a pop I thought at the time were extremely pricey considering you were essentially picnicking and also had to clear up after yourself) we were given our drinks and told weā€™d be called to collect our orderā€¦ā€¦ 10 minutes passed and we figured they must be doing it all completely from scratchā€¦.. 20 minutesā€¦ā€¦ the staff on duty you could hear were chattering between themselves in the tiny kitchen areaā€¦.. 30 minutesā€¦ā€¦ we really didnā€™t want to be rude in case they were cooking it all from scratch. Especially with the price tag we were expecting great thingsā€¦ā€¦ unfortunately we all had a 3 hour car journey ahead of us so when it got to nearly 40 minutes (and weā€™d all finished our drinks!) I went to enquireā€¦.. Ok so they apologised I canā€™t fault that but bearing in mind where you order and where the kitchen is are literally in the same few square metres they said ā€œoh the order wasnā€™t sent throughā€ I meanā€¦ come on it was the only hot food order they had while we were there ( it was t busy a few people had coffees and one couple had scones) so how on earth did they not notice their colleague wasnā€™t making it? They offered to make it but by then we had drank our (Ā£4 each for a tiny juice) drinks and just didnā€™t want to delay our journey an longer. If theyā€™d have said theyā€™d throw in another drink each by way of apology then that may have turned it round but we were left cold (outside seats only) hungry, delayed and quite a lot out of pocket considering the car park charges. So I would advise avoiding if you want breakfast in Alderley Edge and head to the village cafe instead where on two consecutive days we had attentive table service, great food in a reasonable time and it cost around the same as the self serve shambles here.
