Wow! Never felt so in trouble since I was in primary school. On entering we were told off for coming in through the wrong doors, not reading the signs correctly , approaching the bar when it’s not permitted etc Etc We went out for a nice Friday night drink - and were told off from start to finish ! Why run a pub when you obviously can’t stand the public? ( as the landlady obviously can’t)Do not go here if you’re in a good mood - it won’t end well!

Came to this charming pub. Bought our drinks sat down and was enjoying a very pleasant pint(which was excellent) and chat with people that came and sat next to us. When ordering Drinks asked for Tapas menu 20 minutes went bye still no menu ,I complained to the landlord and he barked at me "she forgot". A few minutes later the barmaid came to our table with a menu though not the Tapas menu when I askes for the Menu she barked "book a table" and walked away ,a little perturbed I went to the landlord asked for the Tapas menu he gave me the menu. I suppose I should have walked out then though not quite believing this experience I walked upto the Bar and ordered some Tapas they arrived reasonably quickly the Potato Brasas was delicious though the Calamari was utterly disgusting half cooked, like rubber bullets. rather than complain again we walked out feeling Hurt and a little traumatised probably the most unpleasant experience I've ever encounted with the added dagger looks from both the landlord and the Barmaid. A little mystified why I encounted this experience if I could give no stars I would.

Me and my boyfriend visited The Bulls Head after a walk up to white Nancy and stopped for lunch. We had not been before and because the outside of the pub looked very pretty with all the flowers we decided to stop. It was great! The staff were very polite and helpful. There was a one way system in place which was clear and with it being a hot day, people sat outside which there was plenty of room to do so. Social distancing was easily maintained and a contact number to text your name and postcode to for track and trace purposes. We had sandwiches which were tasty followed by a couple of drinks in the sun. Can’t complain we had a lovely visit and would go again.

We were staying at a local hotel and fancied eating elsewhere, for at least one evening. And it was very surprising - but welcome - to find a village pub that did traditional food, as well as tapas. I love tapas, but this was the last place I excited to find any. And on balance, I’d say it was more authentic / home style cooking, than typical chain restaurants, like La Tasca. We booked a table and while there was some confusion when we realised they’d expected a table for 6 at 2pm, rather than 2 of us at 6pm, we muddled through. We virtually had the place to ourselves. I personally really loved this tapas menu - it had all of my favourites on it plus some new things to try. Portions were indeed generous, but if you’ve been out walking all day as we were, you’ll have an appetite and the usual mantra of 3 dishes or so per person worked well. Everything arrived at once and was piping hot and attractively presented.I do wish more rural pubs diversified like this. You could have the usual ham, egg n’ chips or lasagne but they also have something unique. Few and far between are decent tapas restaurants, so it’s absolutely worth visiting if that’s your kind of cuisine. Nice environment and extremely enjoyable food.

Utterly appalled by the service we received on Friday evening. There were 10 of us but we were not able to order drinks from the table, we had to go to the bar each time even though 4 people were sat against the wall so couldn’t easily leave the table. To add insult to injury, another large party were being served drinks at the table! Some of the dishes ordered never arrived, we asked for a jug of water only again to be told to go to the bar, they then only gave us 4 glasses for a group of 10 so we had to share! On paying the bill, my friend was accused of not having paid. She produced her receipt but no apology was given. I told the owner we would not be returning and she replied “good”! My advice is to spend do your money somewhere that will appreciate your custom as they certainly don’t here.

Whilst staying at Hollin Hall. We popped in twice. Once for drinks (well kept, very nice but expensive!). On the second occasion on Saturday early evening. We asked if food was being served. After the landlord and landlady finished grumbling. We were told the kitchen opened in an hour. An hour later, we went to order, and were very grudgingly served. The food when it arrived was superb. A local lady came in with her children as we were finishing was told they would not serve her food, kitchen was shut. (She was livid). Worth visiting. But book first if you want to eat!

Six of us came here for drinks and food. It's a lovely traditional English pub with a very pleasant beer garden and we were lucky to come here on a sunny day. They have a good choice of ales, wines, gins etc. The bar staff were friendly but the chef!!! He was rude and abusive to the female bar staff right behind the bar in full eyesight and earshot of customers. The bar staff did everything they could to stay professional. However, when we were ordering food, from a menu that says the usual thing about 'if you have any specific dietary requirements please let us know when you're ordering', they were unable to fulfil quite a simple request because the chef would not allow it - in fact, they said they didn't dare even ask him. The request was for a plate with a steak, a piece of gammon, and some chips, with no fat on the meat and nothing else at all. It's not a difficult request to fulfil, and the diner was willing to pay whatever price was reasonable, but the only option was to order two full meals - a steak meal and a gammon meal. The diner said OK then but please don't put anything else on except the trimmed meat and the chips, but he got all the veg and onion rings with the steak (at least they were beside it so we took them off the plate and he was able to eat the steak), and egg on top of the gammon so he couldn't eat that at all. Also the gammon wasn't trimmed. He tried to send it back, but the bar staff were too afraid of the chef and asked if they could give the diner a refund instead, which he agreed because he didn't want to be the cause of them receiving more abuse. The rest of us ordered tapas, which were very good and generous portions - we were grateful to the bar staff who advised us that we were ordering too much. We had three separate orders - the diner mentioned above, two of us having vegetarian tapas, and three having meat tapas - because we were paying separately, but we all ordered at the same time. However, there was a long gap between each order being delivered, which is a good sign in one sense, but it would have been nice for us to eat together. The chef can certainly cook but he really needs to behave professionally with staff and customers. His behaviour turned what should have been a pleasant family occasion into a rather stressful and difficult afternoon.

I visited this pub with my friendly, trusting border collie, Sammy. As soon as we walked in, my dog was attacked by the landlord's dog, a small border terrier I think. I argued with the landlord that maybe his dog should at least have a muzzle. No apology. Nothing except get out. The pub used to be really well run & friendly, but I'm afraid it is rapidly going downhill. A shame as pubs need decent managers / landlords to survive nowadays.

Great brilliant hot food again we must not order a starter but they are soooo good, best chicken wings I ever had and as for the deep fried brie and deep fried black pudding absolutely divine. Even the child menu was a lot and poor grandson could not do it justice due to teething. The garlic mayo is simply the best (need to go on dragons den) and the gammon and eggs cooked perfectly sweet and succulent, my husband had the steak and it just melted all meat from local butcher. My daughter had tapas again full of flavour and hot. We find the staff always friendly and they work hard. I've been here a few times previously and have always been impressed, so decided it was a good opportunity to get a bit of tapas along with some more traditional mains. Service is always great and very friendly and today was no different. Be warned the tapas dishes are slightly larger than you expect, however they are happy to bag up any leftovers up so you can take it home. We all ordered a main and supplemented them with 5 tapas dishes, everything was fantastic albeit didn't get the chance to try the desserts as we were all stuffed by then. Another great experience and my parents loved it. If you fancy somewhere with a slightly different menu, with friendly service and with sensible prices don't hesitate to pay them a visit. Whilst waiting had a pint of Robinsons Wizard for the first time and it turned out to be really good. The baguettes at £6.95 sounded quite expensive but when they arrived they were worth it as they were overflowing with really tasty chicken and they were big enough to share. The chips were some of the nicest I have ever had and one portion was enough for two. They were big chunky slices almost like wedges, not in the least greasy and had a flavour that made salt unnecessary. This was my first visit but it will not be my last as I would love to sample the other food on the menu.

I came here last weekend as a stag do and the food was brilliant! As it was a large group we had to order in advance, but Lee was able to handle our order in advance and the results were brilliant. The pub itself was very traditional and the perfect atmosphere for a couple of drinks. Brilliant evening and quality food, I would highly recommend The Bulls head!

This pub is 2 mins walk from Hollin Hall where we were staying for 2 nights. A traditional English pub that does Spanish tapas and by far the best we've had outside of Madrid. Friendly and welcoming with reasonable prices and the toilets clean and modern. Locks on doors, loo roll and hot soapy water to wash hands. Didn't look at the other menu but there's a sample one on their website. Only wish this was my local but we live 30 miles away! Would highly recommend.

Called in one lunchtime while visiting the area. The pub offers a great range of beers which went down well with the men. Food was very nice with a good choice. Would visit again when next in the area.

I thought it was about time I write a review as we-as a couple and as a family-visit all of the time. There are so many reasons we go back over and over: the tapas is FANTASTIC. Portions are generous! The wine is always great-any house red-and the staff are great. If you visit in summer sit in the garden, the views over Cheshire are great. We love this place and you will too!

This is a lovely pub. 13 of us booked for an evening meal on Friday night. We were given two huge tables in a private room. The tapas menu was extensive! We decided to choose a couple of dishes each and share. The food was gorgeous, very big portions and cooked to perfection, very fresh. The staff were very helpful and I would definitely recommend this pub if you're anywhere near Bollington.

Booked the Bulls head for my wifes birthday(1/11/2015). Looked on the website, had a good idea of what we fancied and we were looking forward to a lovely meal after a long family walk. After being told they don't do a sunday roast(advertised on website) the young lady behind the informed me of a 45 minute wait for food they may not have anyway. No fish, No chicken and No childrens option. All in all a crap experience. All was not lost as we had a fantastic Sunday roast at the Church House in Bollington shortly afterwards.

The Bulls Head complements its comely surroundings and is very much your quaint village pub set-up. It's lovely to look at and nice and cosy indoors. Its very nice all and that. Its true beating heart however, is in its Spanish style cooking because this is what sets it apart from all the other comely and quaint village pubs that are nice to look at on the outside and cosy and friendly on the inside; in short, they cook a mean tapas. The Spanish omelette, garlic mushrooms and chicken kebabs are definitely recommended. The sweet dusting on the er...bizcocho however is the price. For around twelve quid per person, you get enough tapas to warrant feeling full and satisfied.I kind've know how Pavlov's dogs felt as, writing this review has triggered a somewhat conditioned response to go back in the near future and, I reckon if any Spanish backpackers were lost in Kerridge and found themselves in the local, they'd be far from disappointed.

Called in for a quick drink after being on a walk as we were staying the night at Hollin Hall hotel. 1 + 1/2 hours later we left !!!! What a lovely place, we actually wished at the time that we hadn't booked a table at the Hollin hall hotel as the food looked amazing. My partner and I both said we wished we had this as our local.

Waiting to check in at Hollin Hall Hotel and found The Bulls Head by chance.Just after a light lunch and drink. We both chose the baguettes: mine, chicken tikka, the other cheese and onion.Have to say mine was the tastiest I've had in a long time, so filling and only £6.55.Ian was really helpful and friendly.Love the Wellington Boots as plant pots.Wish this place was on our doorstep back home.

This is one of my favourite places to eat out. It's just a small country pub, but they cook amazing Tapas food and you get a lot. I think for £12 pp you get a banquet of food and it's a place we visit as a family. I love the food and the atmosphere and writing this review is making me want to visit again soon.If you're in the area, please take the time to visit and experience the food.

This is one of our local pubs. It is a great looking pub with a good range of beers, a nice beer garden and the food is good - when you can get it. Bu oh how hit and miss it is trying to get a meal there. Yesterday we tried to eat there and (again) failed. The place was quite busy. We were asked if we would wait for 5 minutes for our order to be taken - we were ok with this and took our drinks outside (the barmaid was fine with this). 20 minutes later no-one had come to take our order. We went back to the bar and the barmaid had clearly forgotten us. We paid for our drinks and left. This scenario has happened before. It is a shame and they missed out on about £40-£50, which we spent in another local pub nearby. The barmaid should have been straight with us and told us there would be a longer wait and that we should return to the bar ourselves to place our order. Good customer service is crucial in the pub game -it's not hard to do either. The owners/managers really do need to instil this in their staff - otherwise all the effort they make in producing good qulaity food is wasted.

Food was over cooked. Dry and burnt first course. Tasteless and insipid tapas. Vastly over priced. Management couldn't careless. This place has gone down hill recently. I get the impression the business is winding down as they are now closing Monday and Tuesday. Lots of customers complaining but no one seems to care. Dirty tables....couldn't care less attitude from management. Great shame, it used to be good. Maybe it's closing down. There are far better places to eat in the area, at half the extortionate prices..

We popped in for a second time just the other evening and had 5 dishes and a bottle of house wine all for 37 quid for 2!. In other restaurant's I often find the size of tapas dishes are too small to share, however the Bull have good sized portions making 1 dish perfect for 2 people. The standard is very good and the atmosphere really friendly. Not what you expect to find hidden away in a small village.
