The Winter Gardens in Harrogate

Great breakfast as always however, the highlight was one of the members of staff who originated from Sao Paolo Brazil (sorry didn't get her name) who was a font of knowledge on the local area and truly adores living there. We appreciated her time and we will be visiting a few of her recommendations. A truly lovely, kind and thoughtful lady 👍

We know if we go to a Wetherspoons we can guarantee that the food will be top notch . We ve never had a bad meal . This time , on a day trip to Ripon and Harrogate we called in the Harrogate spoons for lunch . It wasn’t rammed , we found a seat easily and placed our order at the bar . The meals , both piping hot came within 10 mins . Can’t fault that ,, We enjoyed both meals and our table was quickly cleared. The staff were busy and on the ball. Will definitely recommend.

Absolute dump decor,carpets, toilets,sticky tables,needs a good clean.queues at the bar was ridiculous. Would of thought being in harrogate it would of been more upmarket than it was.

Was here to do some vinyl shopping on a Saturday morning at the record fair nearby, so called in for a bacon butty and mug of tea x 2, which was a tenner. The venue is historic, impressive and well worth a visit for its architectural splendour alone. The Spoons value and service was the cherry on the cake. Well done. We will return!

One of the best wetherspoons I've visited. Thoroughly recommended.

It's worth going there, even just to see the interior and space. The place looks like a former ballroom. Food average. Tomato soup (it was sour) served with a slice of toast and butter (it should have been toast). Many tables have the same number, so waiters get confused with their orders.

An excellent Witherspoon's set in the old winter garden building which is very easy on the eye, plenty of tables/ seats inside & out, only downside for me personally are the steps as they don't do my knees any favours.

It's Witherspoons pub has everything you can possibly want. Good food and cheap drink.

Utterly beautiful building, used to be part of the Royal Baths. Great selection of drinks at great prices (pint of kopparberg plus pint of corona was £7.04). Staff all friendly and up for a laugh. Only downside is the car park outside is expensive, though free after 6pm. Food is the usual good value selection. Toilets are the shortest walk of any Wetherspoons I've been in

A very nice wetherspoons, lovely setting in Harrogate with pay and display parking bays outside, free from 6pm on Sundays. The restaurant was quietly busy, and staff were efficient and polite. Tables were clean as were make & female washrooms. Would go again if in Harrogate.

Probably the grandest Wether Spoon's I've visited, plenty of seating and prompt service.

What can I say? You know what you get at Wetherspoons, very cheap ( compared to other places) clean, very friendly staff, overall nice place to unwind and relax.

This is an amazingly beautiful and stunning building. Not to be missed on a trail around popular sites to be seen in Harrogate. We had the opportunity to partake of a round of drinks while waiting for some inclement weather to pass. It’s worth spending a little more time in this place it rewards with revealing further the details of strong architectural and interior design

Called here for a drink and something to eat whilst on a night away. Standard Wetheraspoons food & drink. The only downside is that the food portions have shrunken dramatically but the pric3s haven't.

Please stop giving me so much cutlery, I'm eating for one, not seven. Remove smoking area, people need to move on, it's 2024.

Lovely location and how it's been set out. Really captures the history. Shame the customer service was lacking and the food was subpar. I would go again but not in any rush to go back. It's a typical weatherspoons mean so nothing special just basic and okay standard.

I'm sorry but the portions have dramatically decreased and the quality is really bad, I had a simple chicken tikka masala and the pic shows how it was, on top of that there was stuff on the floor etc. service was good mind.

Popped in 3 times while we stayed in Harrogate. The building is beautiful and large. Always busy and some people struggled to find a table. Ate twice just order 3 for £15 chicken wings are super yummy. Most Staff were super lovely. And went out of their way. 2 members off staff were extremely rude to our children!

My favourite weatherspoons great building

Visited 19/08/2024 This has got to be the best Wetherspoons! It's beautiful. The food and drinks were GREAT! Super cheap! Every single member of staff were very polite, helpfull and smiley! They work so hard and are on the ball! A big shout out to the bar manager (mon evening) he was GREAT, helpfull and made us laugh..to say this place was super busy it was managed to perfection..can't wait to come back!

Gardens and cafeteria worth a visit. Very pretty and pleasant. Atmosphere of tranquility while you drink what you want, yes, you pay for the cup at the counter, and then you refill the cup as many times as you want from the machines, which does not mean that the coffee is good, and even the chocolate, surprisingly. It wasn't expensive! The attention is correct and the site has numerous windows and a terrace. The garden is beautiful, with Japanese-style areas, and a lot of varieties of plants and trees, as well as being quite extensive. We couldn't get to eat but there were local people and it looked good.

All in all what you'd expect from a large chain pub in a spectacular setting. Very careful and attentive to my dietary requirements but could only choose myself using the app.

Our family sat at a table outside..the one on the end next to the pavement..we were asked to leave and refused service because we had our toy poodle ...quiet and about to sleep...with us...disgraceful attitude...we went elsewhere where "families" are welcome...I put one star 🌟 because the site wouldn't allow me to a zero star which I would've put

We visited on a very busy evening when Students in celebrating A levels. The place was packed. Expected a long wait for food but I managed to order straight away and food arrived within 15mins. Staff behind the bar were friendly helpful and efficient. We were very impressed. Food was spot on. Would certainly recommend.

Really can't fault this place at all. Service was brilliant The place was clean and had a great atmosphere. The food was excellent value and so were the drinks. Using the app made things super easy too.

Typical wetherspoons fare and prices, very nice premises.

Typical Wetherspoons set in an old building, but this is probably the best of them all with its fantastic staircase and the beautiful flowers in the outside area, been many times and always visit when in the area.

It is not the first time we visit Wetherspoon pubs in different cities, but this pub really made an impression. The interior is luxurious. As always, the dishes are delicious, the prices are moderate, there are daily offers. Good selection of beer and cider. I recommend for a visit. 🍻

Yikes. Have always been a lover of spoons and enjoy spending time with friends here in my local spoons. Today however was a massive thumbs down. Ordered a breakfast that included hash browns. My meal arrives: 2 halves a grilled tomato, 3 slices of mushroom, 1 piece of bacon and 1 sausage. No hash browns. Politely asked over a server to ask about the missing hash browns who hurried to the back to fetch some. When the hash browns did come they were fully frozen. FROZEN. A little warm on the outside from being dipped in oil but frozen all the way through. We called over another server to query the frozen hash browns. This server literally did not care if I lived or died. Acted as though I was an enormous inconvenience to them. No apology whatsoever just a quick “you want them replacing then?”… yeah I’d rather not eat frozen hash browns. After 5 mins or so the same server produced a bowl of hash browns, set them down on the table and walked away without saying a word. This second bowl of hash browns were also inedible, albeit were no longer frozen. They were just sat in a bowl of grease and would drip with fat when I started to cut them up. Such a shame. I get that serving is exhausting, I did it myself for many years. I totally get it. But a simple smile or a sorry would’ve gone such a long way. I felt I had been completely reasonable and polite and super apologetic for having called a server over twice. Don’t expect to be treated as though I am a massive inconvenience when I’m simply just wanting to resolve a small issue. That being said, most of the staff at the Winter Gardens are always happy to help and can’t do enough for you. Won’t be returning any time soon though.

Got to be the nicest spoons I've ever been in

It's a really beautiful building. It was really busy, but I only stood at the bar for a few minutes before I was served. The menu is large, and I think it caters to all tastes as in all Wetherspoons. Food came really fast served by friendly staff. I recommend it to anyone!

Drinks and food were great and served pretty quickly considering it was so busy and they all tasted delicious. Visited this venue on a very busy Saturday. Drinks and food were great and served pretty quickly considering it was so busy. Big shout out to Freddie....even though he was super busy he assisted with our request for take out boxes. He was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to fulfil our request. Yes, it was a fairly straightforward task, but we could tell how busy all of the staff were ( and they all seemed young and just trying to earn themselves a few quid) and yet Freddie was so pleasant to deal with. You know what you're getting at Weatherspoon but this one is located in the grand building which was the Winter Gardens. Usual food offerings, great people watching, nice vibe and a great staff. Marcia is our favorite! We go every week. Always reliable and good value for eating out or just a drink or two.

Very nice Wetherspoon's pub. Good service, good selection of drinks, very nice outdoor seating area. Only criticism would be certain choices of glasses drinks were served in, but sometimes this was ok depending what you were drinking.

Love the Winter Gardens especially if you can find a quieter area to have food or drinks. Food is always at a price that's right and good value for money. Hot food served quickly accompanied by good cider.

No dogs in outdoor area. No custom, and I was once a big fan of this brand. Seems to be a National thing.

Went here for a drink with my boyfriend. Just wanted a gin in the sun, one of the servers slammed our drinks on the table and demanded for ID, which is fine. She was well within her rights to do that, I have tattoos and such but still often get asked as I do look under 25. I gave her my ID and she started bending pushing and prodding at my ID, then said to us, "I'm going to go and check this in the machine because uh I dunno" and just left the table. We were confused but, whatever if you don't trust it's real check it. She then came back to the table after about 5 minutes, still bending my ID and demanded to see a bank card. So obviously has found out my ID is 100% real. I didn't have my bank card on me so I showed her my banking app. My purse was on the table and she said "I need to see the cards in your purse" ?? No?? You don't ?? Anyway, I showed her my super dry loyalty card and she said that she didn't think that my ID was me. I was 17 in the photo, I'm 21 now. Are we expected to look the same as we did four years ago? She then said "whatever it's fine" as if to be doing me a favour in letting me have my drink and my very real ID back. I have no problem with being ID'd but for her to have been so so so rude and condescending about it made us not even want the drinks anymore. Mega rude staff, even watched her waft away a woman who wouldn't let her take her obviously not finished drink off her table. Won't be back xx

I really liked this wetherspoons. Ordered chicken tikka masala on a Thursday, and it was much better than in any other wetherspoons I've been. Poppadoms weren't greasy, which was a pleasant surprise. Drinks came fast after ordering. So, all in all, I had a good experience.

It’s a Wetherspoons so you know what you’re getting. One of the nicer ones, got a bit of food and ate outside. Cannot fault.

The place is massive and with so many seats they need some sort of system for being served. When we arrived there was a long line of customers leaning on the bar vieing to be served. A wide selection of drinks are available once you are being served. Some carpet areas need attention as they are quite dirty. Having said the above we will try it next time we are in Harrogate. We did not eat but the food we saw coming out looked good.

This huge Wetherspoon is inside the former Victorian Winter Garden. It's got the typical spoons vibe in a particularly grand building.

Winter Gardens is a lovely building, the service was good. I didn't eat there. The toilets were horrible not overly clean.

A beautiful building and one of the few wetherspoons where going to the toilet doesn't require a map or a days forward planning to reach it.

A really great wether spoons, all servers were very warm and welcoming, food and drink prices were extremely reasonable. Food and drink came out within minutes of ordering. The place was nice, clean, and tidy. The staff were really keeping up on clearing and tiding tables. Would definitely recommend if your in the area.

Great food, good prices, nice atmosphere, little bit noisy. But was preparing for the big football game.

Great spot in the middle of town. HUGE open downstairs area. Decent size upper mezzanine which can be accessed at street level from the next road up the hill. Toilets clean. Loads of staff on duty. Very very busy. As with all Wetherspoons, no music. Other than that, highly recommend 👍👍👍
