The Winter Gardens in Harrogate

We visited this pub for the first time today. First impressions were excellent when we walked in. What a beautiful historical building. It was really busy, but we managed to get a table. We had small fish & chips, and a cheeseburger. Both meals were served really quickly, well presented and very tasty. Fantastic value for money with a drink included. Would definitely return and recommend

Stopped for a bit of breakfast it was okay.... Clean well maintained place, bar staff were friendly enough although floor staff all looked miserable apart from that I would visit again

Huge pub, very grand on 2 levels with a great beer garden to the rear, loads of staff and large selection of beers, pretty cheap too!

Two couples celebrating “ the joys of Spring” on a beautiful Friday so we called in to look at the building and share a bottle of Prosecco. This came to the table well chilled and we enjoyed it. We could not find a table outside in the sunshine as the terrace was packed and it was also where the smokers gather. It didn’t take long to drink up so we had a wander around the building before checking in to our nearby Hotel.

This is the poshest Wetherspoons I’ve visited! Lovely building and a great selection of good beers at very reasonable prices.

Basic breakfast was ok would have been better with two sausage

Thank you so much to the brilliant Manager tonight at Wetherspoon, he was incredible, he noticed we had waited a lot longer than others ,resolved the situation immediately, we didn't complain as he was on top of his game! He gave us a free drink and kept checking we were happy with everything! This lovely Man is a rare breed ,a kind and genuine human being! Thank you!

The pub was very busy even for a Monday lunchtime. Best thing about Wetherspoons is that you can order from the app to your table. We did this at the Winter Gardens and the drinks were at the table within a couple of minutes, the food not long after. Food is OK. Bit noisy, but the price makes up for that. Beautiful building.

A great place to eat, drink and people watch...

In heart of Harrogate is a pub and this is the one. If your going for a walk around Harrogate town and need to stop to rest your feet. This is the place. It's great atmosphere and it's simple food & drink makes it easier to rest and recharge.

Amazing building and worth a visit just to look around, lovely outdoors seating area as well. Great selection of drinks and very affordable, I scored the service down as the bar staff were poor on the day, big queues, and lots of people complaining about orders being incorrect. Our beers were good and pizzas 🍕 nice, and we did not wait long. It's definitely worth a visit.

Very large wetherspoons with a fantastic range of real ales. Had breakfast here which was great value & the staff(women) were both friendly & professional.

Although I am not a big fan of its owner and his stance on Brexit.This place is exceptional ,we called in Harrogate as staying in York.Feeling a little peckish and also in need of some liquid refreshment , we decided on Spoons, What a glorious use of the existing building.The weather was good so took advantage of the beer garden.And decided to use the app to order drinks and food.A simple enough task and well thought out UI.I went for the larger chicken shawarma wrap with a side of chips ,A pint of Leffe blonde now only 6%abv since the brewers apparently said uk drinkers want weaker abvs.And a pint of Shandy for my lady.unbelievable value @ £10.61 and yeah the wrap was excellent.Along with the speed of service and great service from the team.I look forward to my next visit.And really have no problems recommending this quality run establishment.

Fantastic building inside in a central location. Usual Spoony well priced offerings but we couldn't eat breakfast as they had run out of eggs!! I would still recommend the place for the atmosphere and location and will return when next in Harrogate.

Beautiful venue, excellent beer selection (+ Christmas ales), civilized clientele. Tried a variety of different food items which were all very good. Outstanding value. Visited a few times while in town.

As with most Witherspoon's groups of people chatting no music but Cheltenham was on this pub has a great staircase

Never been to a weatherspoons that was based in such a lovely building which made the experience in Harrogate even better. The staff were lovely and very efficient and at least in this weatherspoons the food came to the table in a decent time that it was still hot. Give this place a try.

One of the nicest Wetherspoons, it's well laid out, spacious and the balcony seats are great. Food and drink are pretty standard but the venue is great.

Cracking pub , just a few drinks no food - in Harrogate for the day , beer garden is nice with no smoking areas arranged,nice touch

Beautiful building with loads of tables. Despite this was lucky to get last available table. Service was prompt and friendly. Food is typical spoons, basic but OK. Value for money can't be beaten, 2 meals , a wine and decent real ale for £20. One of the best wetherspoons I've visited

As far as spoons go, this one is up there because of the architecture and history of the building. Otherwise it's pretty much so you'd expect

One of the better Wetherspoons pubs being in a fantastic location. A great selection of various ales and the food very good for the price. Overall fantastic value for a nice lunch.

What can I say, best value in Harrogate, always packed

I'm told this is the largest Wetherspoons in the country. Very busy, a great place for drinks and to sit people watching. The food is only average but it won't break the bank.

Busy Sunday but managed quick service

We had breakfast. Good portions Refills for tea and coffee Prompt service. Location very good 2 mins from our hotel

Great place we had small plate of cod and chips with gin and tonic for under £10 . Brilliant value and batter on fish so light and delicious

Lovely building but what a disappointment. Am not a stranger to Wetherspoons and this has to have been my worst ever experience. Staff were unhelpful, slightly miserable and a large proportion of the menu was unavailable. Left without purchasing anything.

A Wetherspoons is a Wetherspoons. The quality choice of drinks is renowned and never overpriced The food is quick, edible and tasty. It doumes the job. The Winter Gardebs is a typical e ample of Wetherspoons repurposibg buildings. The big plus here is downstairs toilets without the normal 40 flights of stairs!

Possibly the worst service of any pub I've been in. When asked if I could have the mug I had been brought changed for a clean one I was told I would have to go and get it myself. Food came half complete and they had made substitutions on our behalf then told us when it was delivered. Would have been nice to know upon ordering. The place is filthy and the staff don't just lack customer service skills but people skills of any description. I know it's cheap but a certain level of professionalism shouldn't be too much to ask should it?

Brilliant. It's just too hot. Please turn down the heating!

Had the pleasure of visiting this beauty again today and it never fails to impress me . Great food, fantastic staff, clean and to top it all I met the legend Tim Martin, who was filming for sky news. Tim is a throughly nice man who is down to earth and very accommodating . He was happy to let us have many photos with him . This is an amazing spoons and you won’t be disappointed if you visit. Special thanks to Will for his knowledge and his help today ❤️

Great prices, but it is so big it is difficult to feel the atmosphere.

This is a top notch cafe serving mainly walkers and climbers. The eating area is clean bright but somewhat Spartan as you would expect . The food is always excellent and good value.

Cheap food and drink. Beautiful building. Really fast service. Usually very busy.

Friendly staff, quick food service. My only gripe is with the fried eggs (I had a breakfast) as the yolks were overcooked and not runny and the whites were rubbery, made me feel a bit sickly actually which is very unusual for me as my hubby calls me a dustbin!

Decent prices as expected from a weatherspoons. The winter gardens is a lovely unique building and the atmosphere was nice. The staff were a little rude on the way out but other than that can't complain.

Lovely place to get breakfast if your amazing at the near by travelodge, use the back entrance from the carpark to save you the hike up the hill on a morning.

Wouldn't normally give a Spoons 5 * but one of the stars is for using this amazing building! Spectacular! Great service and choice of drinks as always.

Great atmosphere in what appears to be an old cinema, but very busy on the two occasions we visited. Good food served hot and reasonably quickly.

A lovely building, well set out, not too crowded. Typical 'spoons food. Toilets were surprisingly close.

One of my favourite Spoons. Had a pizza evening meal here. Not too busy due to extreme snowy conditions outside. Lovely real ales available. Would have given 5 stars but they need to remove the slot machines as they are garish!

Staying in Harrogate for the weekend, popped into "spoons" throughout the weekend. 7 times actually according to our bank statements!! Can fault the place! Great selection of beers, amazing breakfast, and what a building!!! Totally recommend!

Don't be snobbish about the Wetherspoons' brand with this one. This place has a fabulous interior made all the better for the cracking prices on the food and drink!

It is a beautiful venue! The food is whetherspoon quality, nothing very special on it. But it is a great place to go for some drinks and enjoy the beauties of the place.

My local for a night out with my wife and/or family and friends. Probably one of the best Wetherspoons pubs anywhere in the country. Crowd tends to vary with times of day and the day you visit. Fridays and weekends are understandably busy, and it’s good to see young people of just-legal drinking age to seniors enjoying the social atmosphere. Highly recommended.
