Best carvery in Cheshire. Mangement friendly and welcoming. Chef on carvery also friendly. Second visit also stayed in hotel and had full cooked breakfast which was also beautiful. All home cooked food. Already booking for Christmas lunch.

Another amazing 3 night stay me and my wife and our 3 children rooms lovely and clean nothing was too much trouble the food was amazing and always made to feel so welcome highly recommended

Stayed from Friday to Sunday going to. S wedding I have to say from the moment we arrived I can't fault anything what a brilliant place to stay attention to detail was great food was really good fab team but Kelly and Paul Management was wonderful I have to also say I would definitely recommend this gem of a place honestly we have even past it ourselves at times very good value for money very reasonable thank you everyone

We stayed here on our way to Cornwall and also on our way back. Lovely spacious room, comfy bed and the bonus of a bath and a shower. Paul and kelly were fantastic hosts they are such lovely genuine people. The bar is really nice and well stocked. Very clean and cosy and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Went for a drink, was never told about the car park charge - phoned and they said that I would have been told - well I definitely wasn’t! Human error I guess but now I’ve got to pay £60 fine because of their mistake. No offer to pay the fine for me even though they messed up - Total rip off - would leave no stars if I could!

Fabulous welcome by friendly staff. The rooms were well furnished and spacious. The good was lovely and staybwent out of their way to assist us during our stay. I would highly recommend the Windmill .

Stayed here for 3 days fab reception when arrived from both managers and staff. Beautiful room , beds, bathroom. In restaurant so clean decor fab food lovely and how you want it dog friendly. First of all the room was tiny, all you could hear in our room was extremely noisey traffic. Then there’s the £170 bill we received for parking our car on their car park! Thanks for telling me to write my reg down whilst I was paying you for my room, NOT! yes there are signs but I was in a rush to get to a wedding, I was in and out straight away, you knew all this but chose to say nothing to me. Robbing ba*8ards, I will never drink in a Robinson’s pub again let alone stay in one.

As the 'family' were coming from The Black Country and Leeds area, The Windmill seemed the easiest place to all meet. What a beautiful and Olde world look and feel the place was, so cosy, warm and inviting. We sat at two tables joined into one around a corner, nice and quiet as we all had 12 months gossip to catch up on! We had coffees and cake, which, by the way we were told previous that The Windmill did NOT do coffees, cake etc, well they DO, and it was pure Bostin!!! More so, we all had a meal as well Also, we were left alone, not ket been bothered like other places. Thank you so much for that, we really all appreciate it! We were there nearly 4 hours, but we were made welcome by the owner and staff, we really did have a Bostin time. The meals were hot and tasty, and fresh, not the 'ping' meals you sometimes find. The prices were reasonable and service was good and with a beaming smile!! We eventually left then swapped Christmas presents in the really large carpark for another 30 minutes, goodness' knows what they thought was going on!!! The Windmill was a Bostin place to meet, we shall use this place again, there was also a bonus.... they do rooms as well !!! Also, The Windmill was decorated beautifully, even had a Christmas tree none of us had ever seen before, it looked like a maniquin in a tree, very well done to you, it certainly was a talking point, and done expertly for Christmas! Just to say a Bostin big Thank you to all staff for making our short stay so memorable and happy...we shall be back!

What an incredible place. The staff here are some of the most friendly and accommodating people I’ve met. The rooms are are perfect and the bar retains its heritage and charm in a time when most places are loosing theirs. I will be visiting again the next time I’m in the area. Thank you guys.

Having previously tried to have a group lunch at this pub only to find a notice on the door saying 'kitchen closed due to chef illness' we decided to give them a second chance as we like to support local businesses. We booked a table several weeks ago for a Committee Christmas Lunch today. There were no festive decorations apart from a slightly surreal Christmas tree in one corner. There was also no sign of any special festive items on the menu. Worst of all, when we ordered three fish and chips and two lasagnes, we were told that there was only one lasagne available. When we tried to substitute fish and chips we were told that the first three we had ordered were the last. This was at 1.15pm on a Wednesday. When the food arrived it was mediocre - the fish in batter was greasy, and the hunters chicken seemed to have been under the salamander for too long. Food has to be ordered at the bar, but there is no notice to that effect, and no drinks/coffee menus were in evidence on the table. If there were any desserts we will never know as the menus were removed from our table. This place seems to be based on minimal staff involvement. If you are coming off the M6 looking for a meal it might be an option, but you'd be better off driving a mile or so down the road to the Red Lion at Pickmere, which has friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.

We called in here on a whim to try and get a carvery, we arrived just as they were finishing serving but the staff were so helpful. The manage to rustle up a vegetarian nut roast and non goose fat roast potatoes. The staff were fantastic, so welcoming so helpful and with such a positive, nothing was too much for them.

This place is the friendliest my husband and i have been to in ages. Kelly and paul made us so welcome so friendly too. Room we stayed in is beautiful so clean tidy lovely decorated and lovely and warm. We loved it so much were hoping to come New Year Eve with our family. But whenever were in manchester to see family this is where well be staying Thank you both

Nice pub just off the M6 at junction 19 with friendly staff and decent food. Large car park but remember to enter your registration at the bar for free parking. Accommodation was good, nice large room and a continental breakfast included at a reasonable rate.

I go to the Windmill about twice a week. It used to have a really bad reputation and I didn't visit for many years. It was taken over by Kelly and Paul earlier this year and since then it has flourished. The food is absolutely excellent and they are absolutely fantastic hosts. I work as a Support Worker and the 2 people I support love going for lunch every Friday. Nothing is ever too much for the staff, and out of all the establishments I have visited with the guys, this has been the most welcoming. Today we tried their Sunday Carvery for the first time and it was absolutely divine. I can't recommend enough. Russ

Food wasn’t the best had to wait long enough. An to top that off I’ve been stuck with a £60 ticket. Which bare in mind me and my friend had arrived at the same time in two separate vehicles. He did not receive a ticket. Lucky me though did! Tried detesting it. Only to get a letter back double the amount and from a debt recovery agency. Fuming isn’t the word. HI I have received a letter before claim for £185.00 for 3 minutes parking. November 2019 last year, I know it was only 3 minutes as i did not get out of my car. Any suggestions how to deal with this. £185.00 for what??????

AVOID, AVOID AVOID This pub has an aggressive parking approach with awful signage indicating that a fee is payable. Stopped for only 20 minutes to be safely off the road and ended up with a £100 fine.
