Charles is amazing, such a gent. Gave great advice to us as we had no clue where to start with our planters. Also, helped take our purchases to the car. I can’t give enough praise for this place.

We’ve been to Castaway a few times, most recently after the addition of the new jungle play area (which joins on to the pirate play area). We absolutely love it here. It’s clean, well kept, and quite unique in terms of local play centres. The pirate section has a wooden climbing frame, huge sandpit, soft play (babies only) and a bouncy castle/slide. The best bit is a river where you can pan for ‘gold’ - my toddler adores this. The jungle section has a brilliant treehouse as well as a paddling pool/waterfall, music room, potions room, sandpit, and soft play (babies only). We spent four hours there on our last visit!Service at the cafe can be a bit slow but the cakes are delicious - the Oreo Cake is one of the best I’ve ever eaten (and was vegan too). It also gets very busy so we go for opening time (9.30). By 11.00 they were operating a waiting list as it was full.

We visited the soft play today which is incredible the only down side is the garden centre is bsolutely awful there is NO stock whatsoever it’s very Itty bitty and one of this and one of that....really needs a re vamp as the castaway play is so good the garden centre really lets it down. I like to have a good look round places like this and there is nothing to look at and certainly nothing to buy the kids apart from two tractors left on a large stand. Please get a good load of stuff in perhaps visit some of the other garden centres to get some ideas

First time visit. Good selection of plants and gardening equipment, bought several items for use in allotment. Small farm shop area but with good variety.Poked our heads round the door of the play area to see if suitable to bring niece on next visit - very officious member of staff told us off for doing so when no child with us, despite the play barn being viewable from the garden centre. Enough to put us off from coming back for this side!

Started well but after a few minutes a member off staff rudely evicted my son (4) and his twin friends (3) out of the 4 and under area because in the holidays it’s for babies only, I wouldn’t have minded if there was any signage at all when we arrived but the fact that the twins were evicted so rudely they cried is totally unacceptable! 20 minutes later the same lady came round with a clipboard telling us it’s “Strictly a two hour play and to make sure we leave when times up” we’d been here under half an hour!! This is totally despicable and we will not be returning any time soon.

This place is quite a small garden centre. Though it has parking where it is is horrible to get out from when its busy as its on a main road. You can't walk to this place as it has no footpath and the speed limit on the road is 40.The cafe itself is not bad, it's also accessible to people with push trolleys and wheelchairs. The staff are lovely and food is not bad.

Hugely disappointed. We arrive with a 6 ur old boy and his friend. To be told to join the waiting queue!! Nothing for the children to do! Stood by the doors waiting our turn.33 mins later allowed in. Large fun area, sand pit, water, pirate ship, bouncy castle, shops play area. Then it went bad to worse. Children wanted pizza for lunch. The pizza went very hard once it started to cool down. We had bacon sandwich, and hot drink £5. We had to stand whilst the food was going cool for the bacon sandwich to made (when arrived no butter on this dry bread) No apology, or I will bring this to your table. Not pleased with the attitude. Boys playing happily until I presume was the owner, not allowed in the bouncy castle area, your playing to rough? How? By bouncing and using the slide. Told off again by the same lady for squashing sandcastle they built. Isn’t this apart of playing and fun??? The lady’s attitude was very poor, no smiling, no conversation just rude. I advised this area is suitable for toddlers and not over the ages of 5. Will not be returning, a waste day.

I came here with my two children and had lunch but promised them they could go in the play area afterwards. After waiting half an hour to even be served by a waitress the food finally came and after we headed too the play area at 3:00 which Was open till 4:00. We were told that they were no longer allowing children in. Guess they wanted an early finish.if it wasn't for their poor service in the first place then we would have been even earlier. Definitely wont be returning and won't recommend the place. The place was full of old biddies staring while we ate like a scene from cocoon!

I have just had a lovely breakfast at the café here, followed by a visit to the shop. The produce is lovely and fresh, the butcher's display was inviting. The only thing that spoilt the experience was the miserable shop assistant at the checkout desk!! try smiling! I shopped here quite regularly but had not been for some time as the surly demeanour is very off putting, it has not improved. Otherwise, great value for money!

We often call here for lunch after our weekly walk in the Biddulph area. Their carpark is a good size. we try to get in around 12, as it can get very busy if you go in much later. The cafe is large and the food tasty. We usually have their homemade quiche, served with, coleslaw, salad and chips, plus a latte. This is very colourful and filling. In fact we have never had enough room after the main course, to try a piece of their delicious looking cakes. Our bill is about £10 per person for what we have. The garden centre building has a good range of products, including fresh meat and veg. Although the outside plant section is relatively small, in relation to the size of the building, the plants always look well looked after and healthy. Worth called if you are in the area.

My daughter-in-law had been recommended the indoor play area for our toddler grandson by friends and we enjoy visiting garden centres, so this sounded ideal for us all. It's a relatively small garden centre. We browsed the somewhat limited but very reasonably priced plants and would have liked to spend more time in the shop area with its variety of goods and foodstuff, but with a 21 month old and a 3 month old in tow we spent most of our time in Castaway Play. There our grandson had a whale of a time with sand, water, imaginative play, climbing frame and slide plus soft play (90 minutes for just £3). We enjoyed watching him and also enjoyed the cafe facilities available in there. It was a shame that a water leak meant the coffee machine was out of order, but there was still tea and soft drinks. One of us had a tasty ice-cream cone and another sampled the delicious selection of cakes. We were just visiting the area to see family, but our daughter-in-law who lives only 20 minutes drive away will definitely be making return visits!

Went because my friends are raving about the new soft play. Don't think I'll be visiting again mainly due to the attitude of the older staff. Was greated with a "have you signed in?" bark when there is no clear signage where to go; witnessed a mum being told to get off the equipment when she was assisting her child (it was robust enough) "if he's not capable of being on there, he shouldn't use it" and bad mouthing the mum to other guests; got barked at when we left " have you signed out" when we'd just walked through the door and my toddler was running off. Not a friendly reception at all and the combination of soft play, sand and water is my idea of a nightmare. The actual cafe was nice though, slow service but lovely food, might pop in there again.

We popped here today for the first time and caught the last hour of play (which they gave us half price) and we were really impressed with the new play area. It’s clean, lots of staff on hand and all enclosed so you can sit and enjoy a brew whilst watching the kids play. There’s sand/water/bouncy castle/role play builders yard/kitchen area/more sand with metal detectors and coins to find/big indoor pirate ship, toilets and cafe. It’s £5 per child and I’d say it’s good value for money as my kids 4&5 would have easily spent 2/3 hrs in there. As I say we only got there at 4 so only had an hour this time. It’s like a mini Cheshire Icecream farm under one roof. Will be back and would highly recommend.

Lunch was good quality, the right price and right amount. Enough to choose from too. Staff were pleasant enough but there is a gap in the training of the Saturday staff who left people hanging around the counter for ages instead of telling them they could take a table (the sign was often obscured by other customers waiting to pay at the till). Like us, we saw several parties after us waiting stood by the counter, unsure, awkward and only eventually finding a menu and deciding to take a seat after being diligently ignored by the staff for several minutes. A 'hello' and 'please take a table' is all that's needed for great, British customer service.

We called in for breakfast, when we were having a Sunday walk. We had the larger breakfast, which comes with tea/coffee. A lovely breakfast. Cooked to perfection. Well worth the money. Although it was table service, everyone was ordering themselves as the waitresses were busy. Once ordered & seated, the drinks & food arrived quickly. Would definitely eat there again.

Congleton Garden Centre, is not the biggest but they do have a wide range of typical garden centre goods and outlets. There is a granite kitchen top area, a path and paving area and jacuzzi area. The butchers offer a good range of quality meat. The cafe is large and pleasant. There is a small reasonably well maintained childrens play area with sand pit. Its not cheap but which garden centres are?

This was our second visit to this garden centre, and we were very impressed with the quality of items on display, inside and outside. Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant staff. There is a fresh food, frozen food and fresh meat section all of which were of good quality. As we were a bit short on time we weren't able to visit the restaurant, but just had a peep in, very pleasant atmosphere and surroundings; the menu looked very inviting so have planned to go back in the not too distant future.

So much to say about this place :) CGC is friendly and welcoming with plenty of parking. The restaurant has freshly prepared food and a delicious range of cakes. All very reasonably priced. My friends and I regularly meet for lunch and my daughter loves the kids' play area. The garden centre is great for gifts and I always get my Christmas tree from CGC. The farm shop is my favourite with fantastic locally sourced produce and little treats (a.k.a. gin)! Highly recommended

Decided to visit as we haven't been for a while. Unfortunately they ran out of scones so no cream tea which was disappointing. Couldn't order chips or a sandwich as it was 3pm and they stopped doing food. Though there are no notices to say that and it's not written on the menu. There's a big sign outside saying food all day though! Cakes we did have were nice though and the staff were nice.

Si no has visitado debe probarlo.

Mid week the Harrow had plenty of space to accommodate an impromptu family gathering. I know that at weekends it’s really advised to reserve a table. We’ve been coming to this pub pretty much all our lives, but was impressed by the upgrades and expansion. The menu was interesting and didn’t disappoint. The service from Shane was awesome. They have some great offers and discounts online so that diners of all budgets can enjoy it. Definitely putting this back on my “visits Home” itinerary.

Parked in what we thought was the free pub car park, received a parking fine for £100 one week later. We arrived when it was pitch black and due to COVID restrictions couldn't leave our table once we were seated. Hence, we didn't have a clue we had to pay to park. The staff didn't mention it to us at any point. Strange considering how many terrible reviews they're getting for the exact same reason? Why oh why.

We had lunch here (not booked in advance) on my mother's 94th birthday. We are regular guests at the hotel and honestly we have tended to avoid the brasserie for dinner because the experience has been variable. However, our lunch with soup, paninis and a mushroom burger was very good indeed, with lovely fresh bread and warm ingredients. Service was friendly and efficient. I'd recommend trying it out for a midweek late lunch. Self-service breakfast here is good, provided you can avoid the busiest times.
