The Windmill Harvester in Arun

Popped in for a spot of lunch with my family no frills but you know what you are getting in this type of restaurant . Will come again

Such a shame this burnt down a couple of weeks ago. We would have had breakfast here before our visit to Harbour Park next door.

I've eaten here a few times over the years, and in general the service is good and the food okay. Typical Harvester with good visits and not so good visits. Sadly on Thursday 10 August 2023, the restaurant burnt to the ground. Too soon to say if it will be rebuilt, but if it is, it probably will take at least a year, maybe two years before we see it back again.

Turned up on a very busy early evening service. The host was very pleasant and advised us that as we hadn’t booked we could sit in the bar area which we did. She promptly cleaned out table for us. The chap on the bar didn’t seem really interested in serving us and then took an age to sort the drinks out. I had mushrooms for a starter then salad bowl. We didn’t wait long for starters to come out and I realised why when I bit into the mushrooms and realised they were barely warm. Salad bowl was ok. No croutons or beetroot and wasn’t very tidy around it. What we had was fine though. I get that it was busy but the tables were just piled up with crockery and glasses there wasn’t a clear table in the bar I don’t think I will return I’m afraid. Not the best harvester I have been to.

Mark our server was lovely and food was also wonderful, however we waited 10 minutes to be seated, with many members of staff just walking past us. We orderd two rounds of drinks and both times, neither drinks arrived and we had to specifically ask for them, after waiting around 10 minutes. Food came out very quickly though. Lovely food and dessert. Thank you Mark for being such a great server.

Great value for the money. The burgers, scampi & gammon were delicious. The fish cakes were a bit disappointing, small and overcooked (hence the loss of star) but the salad bar more than made up for it. What we were most impressed about though was the service, Marie was an excellent waitress. Very friendly, attentive & a credit to your restaurant. She’s a star ⭐️ xx

3pm- just wanted a drink with wifi. Always happy with this wifi, but after lunch mess just not cleaned up. Two staff behind the quiet bar now... and defo not understaffed...but carpet full of "stuff" dropped by earlier cientele. I swear the waitron was not going to wipe the table until I asked her. Tables were available in restuarant area...but bar area full of eaters. Cheap affordably drinks and meals acailable with a salad bar, which is popular. No view of the nearby sea from any seats. Plenty paid parking onsite. High season...busy! But should also equate to high standard...and cleanliness comes first where food is served. (Some furniture beedas replacing...)

Harvester take away, food arrived cold, some meals were missing and all the puddings missing too, phoned up, lady said contact just eat for refund but we wanted the food, the lady said ah yes its all here on the side, you have to come and pick it up despite us having to pay for delivery, this just seems to happen everytime we order from there so had stopped, 6 months later, no change, ruined our evening! :(

Came for a quick spot of lunch after being out shopping. Fancied a treat so ordered sirloin steak. Cooked to perfection at mid rare. Food was hot and service was fast. Atmosphere was lovely.

Go here fairly regularly always good value food is nice but had to wrote the review today as the service I received was exceptionally good the waiter James was friendly attentive without going overboard made suggestions so we got exactly the meal we wanted if all waiters were like him eating out would always be a pleasure keep him Harvester

Greeted at the door, hadn’t booked a table but was lucky enough to have a table for us, served by ebony, she was friendly and efficient, food was hot and great too!

Restaurant wasn’t at all busy. One of our party has mobility issues but the restaurant were not able to seat us in the restaurant as the only suitable chairs were in the bar. Because we sat in the bar area there was no waitress service for ordering food. The salad bar was excellent but sadly the steak was as dry as boot leather and the Cajun chicken much the same. The chips were cold and the sweet potato fries were all stuck together in a lump. We spoke to the bartender and gave feedback on the food but I had no confidence he was going to pass our feedback to the kitchen. We won’t be going back for anything other than the salad bar.
