I arrived as a single person. Ordered the drink and asked for a menu. I took a seat at my table, other groups of people arrived tok a seat , and got served before me and had order taken, I then had to prompt waitress, as to when they'd take my order. Other people got asked if meal was ok, but I wasn't Just because I'm single person, doesn't mean I get forgotten. Felt a little discriminated for being a single customer

Lovely setting with good parking. Thought we'd try the carvery. One WC in the ladies was out of order & there was no hot water in the gents, despite a sign warning about hot water. The carvery provided a good choice of meat & vegetables with a gravy. The food was cooked to perfection with lovely flavours. Sadly though the plates were cold & the food was just luke warm. When we told a member of staff, she said she'd feed it back however, we got no apology which we believe was very poor. We won't be returning sadly.

Absolutely awful food. Overpriced and tasteless. One meal untouched and returned. Decided not to replace it and leave. Went to pay for the one meal we did have that was average. The young lady tried to charge us for both meals. So you want us to pay for a meal we never had . Amazing. Got the manager, eventually sorted it. Not one apology. Loads of better places to eat within a few miles radius. Give your money to a business that appreciates it.

Avoid carvery … beef that wouldn’t fill half a sandwich and I have a small appetite! Roasts bland, 1/3 of a sausage, cauliflower cheese … no taste of cheese. Service, had to ask for cutlery, type of service, didn’t check on food so no opportunity to complain… no one anywhere to be seen. Sticky dirty Table wasn’t cleared of our plates

There is no reason why this should not be the best pub in the area but it falls short in several ways which could be easily rectified. We booked for 4 adults and a dog one lunchtime this week. After a careful study of the menu 3 of us chose the lamb kofta flat bread only to be told after our order had been taken that they were off the menu, so back to choosing again. One of the party then chose cheese pie and our order was again taken to the kitchen but apparently there was no cheese pie available. After 3 choices we finally placed our order. All this could have been avoided if the kitchen staff had communicated to the staff taking the orders and customers were told before taking time to make a choice. Another point that many people have mentioned is sticky tables which should be an easy problem to solve. The same goes for the menus, just replace them with ones that are easily wiped down. The last point is tidying outside, as you go through the rear door to the outside sitting area a daily brush up would make it much more appealing. Simple points to make a big difference A plus point is that the food was very good

Really terrible experience. We had been calling all week to book a table for Thursday night and got nowhere. My husband went down in person on Wednesday to check they were open and book a table as we had friends travelling up from the South with a dog so we needed to know for sure that we could get in. We were told that they served food until 7.45pm and that there was no need to book. Whilst the serving time close seemed somewhat early, this was fine. When we arrived on the Thursday at 7.35pm we were told the kitchen was already closed as they had too many orders. This was ever explained as a possibility when we spoke to them the day before.

Visited for my wife's 50th as a party of 9. (adults and young teens) The service was great and the staff were very accomodating letting us decorate the table with balloons etc and allowing me to drop off my own cake, which they kept and brought out as a surprise at the end of the meal. . All the food was very good and came quickly and all together. In particular, the Tempura Prawns starter was delicious, and the Fish & Chips main was the nicest piece of fish I've had in a long time. A good wine and drink selection too with plenty of choice of beers, gins and everything else. I can't fault anything and would highly recommend The Wilbraham Arms.

First time visiting this pub with my son, daughter-in-law and the gran children. First impression was the table was very sticky (seems to be a theme here) and the menu's looked like the dogs had been playing with them. My wife is vegan so chose the Vegan Pie. I joined her as in most, if not all places we've been to, the vegan food is fab. Let me say this Vegan Pie was the worst vegan meal I have ever had by a country mile. It supposed to be a filo pastry covering a 'no chicken' centre product. The filo pastry was damp and the 'no chicken' centre was tasteless and a solid lump of something disgusting. I raised the disappointment with the staff but they just apologised. For £14 what a rip-off. My min concern is whoever in the company selected this product and thought it was acceptable to serve really hasn't tasted the product and has no awareness of what vegan food can aspire to be.

First visit as we are not local to the area unfortunately we will not be returning the tables and menus were Sticky ! So were the menus. I have been a vegan for nearly 40 years and I have to say it was the worst meal I have ever been served . The staff never asked if any of the 6 of us had any allergies and when my husband asked for vegan options he was given a menu with green sticky tape on the vegan option which is a pie well a patty type mound in an undercooked piece of puff pastry definitely not with the £14 on a positive the chips were hot . So glad I live in the West Midlands they have good food establishments and plenty of places that offer plant based diets ….

Although they managed to get the food out to us pretty quick, unfortunately my wife had to leave her food to go and pick up our daughter instead of us both leaving. She came back with her and ate her cold food. How on earth do you just bypass an order that’s the same as the next table!!! No offer of a refund or drinks or anything else. The poor people next to us also realised what had happened, I explained it was not their fault but the fault of the staff here!! Think we will start eating elsewhere. (And no, at the time of us ordering they were not busy) if you are to eat here demand that they take the table number as they do not seem to use them and maybe just guess where people are?

We made an appointment for last night and were greeted by a pleasant waitress who took our order for drinks and the meals. We asked if the food was all homemade and she confirmed that it was, i.e. pies etc. We all had different meals and they were all very tasty, hot and well presented. In fact my husband who loves steak pies said it was the best he had had in a restaurant and all the other friends we were with agreed that the food was very good and that we would all come back. It had been mentioned in previous reviews that the tables were sticky and we did find and remarked about this ourselves. We have been to The Coach and Four on a few occasions and stayed in the lodge next door when visiting family in Wilmslow. The experience has always been very good. A nice wide selection of beers and wines and excellent food.

Food is always nice here, mishap with our order getting lost, it was a busy festival day and they handled it well and looked after us. 😁

We have been coming to the Bears Head for years and although it can be a bit hit and miss regarding the experience it has generally been OK. However, I don't if its changed ownership or they just cant get the staff but my last experience was appalling and also our family's last ever visit. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone came to the table to acknowledge our existence, the glasses were dirty, still bearing the lipstick of the previous owner. When we asked for clean glasses they were taken away and returned...still dirty. The food was inedible, with exception to the broccoli, which was the only thing that was cooked properly. The roast potatoes were so greasy that they became mush as soon as put my fork in them, the mash seemed to have been microwaved to the extreme, the cauliflower was sitting in water and completely tasteless. One member of staff, a young lad, seemed so disinterested in being there, it was almost comical. Sad to say, we will not be returning and an association that has lasted almost 20 years has come to an end.
