Found this really nice village pub near where we were staying the Blenheim PalaceLodge Retreat. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival. It was Sunday, the pub had an amazing Sunday Lunch menu. My wife and myself opted for the Turkey Crown roast, it arrived very soon after we ordered and I must say the portion was huge the turkey succulent and served with a huge side of various freshly cooked vegetables. We were so full but couldn’t resist the puddings on offer, so tempted we ordered one portion of homemade apple and rhubarb crumble served with piping hot custard another healthy portion it was absolutely delicious. A very friendly community pub with attentive friendly staff, amazing value for money. So if you’re ever in Bladon, or nearby I would highly recommend giving The White House a visit.

Went in for a lovely Sunday roast with four friends. Staff we very polite and service was good. Even offered and got a bowl of water for the dog. Roast dinner was fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed, well cooked, good sized portions and great selection of veg. All had dessert too. Again very tasty but a struggle to eat after a big roast. Would definitely go back again. Yum!

We arrived for Sunday lunch and ordered drinks. The waitress eventually came to take our food orders. Three-quarters of an hour later the food arrived (only one chef, we were told). The food was great, but we decided whether or not to order desserts as we had waited so long! We did, and they were good, if a little over-priced.

Simply put, the hours are not correct. I arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday and all of the lights were off and the business was closed. Nothing on their door or social media saying they would be closed, either. Don’t expect it to be open when they say they are.

Dropped in after a lovely walk round Blenhiem earlier this week. We stopped by in the morning and I have to say this is one of the best breakfasts I have eatten out in a long time. The quality was superb! The staff were very easy, they had just sat down a 20 person table and a 14 person table the breakfast arrived in a timely manner. My only comments would be one more egg and another sausage or bacon rash would have gone down a treat. Would definitely recommend they are also dog friendly!

We made a last minute family booking and were blown away by our visit to the White House. Communications (via chat) with the super helpful Ben was great and he sent a menu through to us in advance. When we arrived, we met the wonderful Craig who served us at the bar. The food was very well prepared and very tasty. A great range of beers, and wines, followed by coffee. A lovely meal, in great surroundings and served by excellent staff. Highly recommended restaurant!

Great food, we both had fish and chips with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The dining area was quiet so that made chatting easier. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, once we were seated, we never got up from the table until it was time to leave. It was like being in a restaurant rather than a pub. Oh dear dear me! Arrived at midday today looking forward to a good Sunday lunch. We were largely ignored as they told me they were printing new menus. After 40 mins of waiting, I told a waitress but she just shrugged and did not offer to find out what was going on. Eventually our meal arrived - I had the beef and my wife had calamari . My roast was bland, dry and overdone at best. When I declined to pay a service charge and wanted to see the bill, the same waitress just huffed. So rude and thoughtless! I will not be darkening your doors again

A lovely community pub right by Blenheim Palace, decor was lovely and the lady behind the bar was very friendly. The food was delicious and everything was really good value for money. The only thing that let it down was the speed of service on food. We were warned of a 30 minute wait but that then became an hour. We will be back and will put our food order in earlier. Visited as half way between us for family to meet up and Churchills grave just over the road . Staff were friendly and accommodating and it’s dog friendly in and out . Noisy because of its situation on a main road . The real issue is the food . The couple adjacent to us complained about their food. We ordered two ploughman’s lunches at £11 each and felt totally ripped off regarding content and quantity. Won’t return on this basis .

We’d booked a late session for a family group of 9 and we had a table nicely set back in the middle. Tor looked after us as well as we could have hoped, they had saved us 9 portions of beef in case we had all wanted it which was a very thoughtful touch. We polished off 5 of them. The beef was deliciois annd more than enough and nicely cooked, plenty of veg to suit all. Kids had the burgers which were all very enjoyed. Clean plates all round speaks volumes. Service was always attentive, efficient and friendly. Community pubs are the way forward and when run well like this give a nice atmosphere as well as something for the whole community. Thank you all, lovely experience, we’ll bring the family again if you can put up with us :)

Genuinely the best roast dinner I have had in Oxfordshire. It was roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, amazing cauliflower cheese, and other trimming. Stunning gravy and a really good portion of food. Staff were great and there was a good crowd of people in the restaurant which created a relaxed pleasant atmosphere. There is one Sunday roast option done to perfection, and their normal lunch menu (which is also excellent) The menu is not extensive but hopefully this will be extended in the future and looking forward to Ben putting on some specials as he’s an exceptional chef.

Nice pub with friendly staff. We only had drinks, so unable to comment on food, but we understand the pub is owned/run by someone that was on MasterChef. The pub celebrates the life of Winston Churchill, with photos and memorabilia, because he was born in nearby Blenheim Palace and is buried in Bladon Church a very short walk from the pub.

Good pub a stone's throw from Churchill's tomb and Blenheim Palace, with good courtesy from the managers and a good choice of beers on tap. As an Italian, who has a very direct relationship with food, I can tell you that the Fish & Chips I ate were one of the 2 most interesting in my numerous trips to Great Britain. Good raw material, processed very well and fried properly. Even the ham and mustard sandwich, despite its simplicity, was well made with good ingredients. I recommend a stop.

What a joke, now I know why my in laws who live opposite don’t bother going here. Went in today and the place was empty bar a couple of people at the bar, yet I wasn’t acknowledged at all. A woman sat at the bar eating crisps over the booking book didn’t bother to acknowledge me or the others waited whilst a young man ran around like a headless chicken. If she was on her break she should of done elsewhere, how can you watch staff struggle and customers walk out and not even acknowledge them. If they claim it wasn’t staff I suggest not leaving your booking book open with peoples numbers in it clearly for display to everyone. Needless to say I left without ordering.

Menu is under development, so quite short, but all dishes freshly prepared by the very well regarded chef. Crisp battered haddock and chips, and a very tasty chicken caesar salad, followed by sticky toffee pud bathed in plenty of toffee sauce. Looking forward to trying a baked camenbert, when we're next passing for a lunchtime snack. As under new management, there is limited real ale (while suppliers are sourced) but the locally brewed lagers are tasty in this hot spell of weather.

We visited as a family of 6 adults and 1 (fussy) child. My mum had booked the table and I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I looked at the menu. Only 4 main courses on offer, no separate children's menu (although they offer children's portions of all menu items) and the Sunday roast beef was £18.50 which is a lot of money for a pub roast in my opinion. However, we ordered and I went for the roast and thoroughly enjoyed absolutely all of it, and there was plenty. Coffee was a bit weak for my taste but I would definitely go for a roast again if I was in the area, despite the price.

I’d had a very long day having driven my son from Chester to Heathrow and decided to stop to take a look at Churchill’s grave on my way back. The only place I could find to park was the pub car park so it seemed a bit cheeky not to have a late lunch there especially as it was pouring down and the pub looked and was warm. Pint of Luna was very nice as was the burger and chips. The landlord was very pleasant and the other diners in the pub seemed very happy with their meals. Just returned to an old haunt, now known as The Mason's Arms. LOVE it! Having moved out of the area we hadn't realised it had changed hands. And what hands it has fallen in to! Swirly carpet gone...hurrah! Stylishly rustic, woodburners blazing, candles lit, great atmosphere and even greater food, even on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Oh the lamb's liver starter!....it was a dream! as was the venison sausage and the ham egg and chips. Warm, friendly welcome from Dan...perfect front of house. Who wouldn't want this on their doorstep. Maybe we should move back! Congratulations!
