This is a charming little spot in the heart of Charlbury, and doubles as both a deli and a sort of artisan shop and bakery with some unique goods and breads. The deli is very sweet and service is very informal but the staff were very friendly and we could easily mix and match things as we wanted them, the menu was not at all set in stone. I had an absolutely divine pate platter with fresh homemade bread and pickles as well as a sausage roll, whilst my partner had the quiche and a spinach and goats cheese roll which was very tasty. Topped off by seeing Jeremy Clarkson walk by. Great if you want a quick stop for lunch that's cheap and set in a good location.

They've absolutely nailed the local deli at this shop. Beautiful space to relax wirh a cup of coffee and a bake, or you can take anything away. There is a huge selection of savoury and sweet baked goods including 6 different kinds of millionaire shortbread when I was in! They will also make up sandwiches and baguettes fresh at the counter. There is a decent amount of cupboard goods and fruit and veg to purchase here too. Service was really pleasant. All of the staff are happy for you to take your time and they were most helpful. I came here because I had reason to pop into the pharmacy next door and am really happy to have stumbled in here, it's amazing and I'll absolutely stop by next time I'm in Charlbury.

We are holidaying at a nearby campsite, and stopped in the village for some basic provisions. While walking round the village we came across the cafe, which is dog friendly. Our mocha's were fab, and we can really recommend their Cappucino millionaires shortbread. It was so good and was eaten before I could take a picture. We bought some great cheeses, and some light and fluffy ciabatta.

We went camping for 4 days to Charlbury and were very excited to visit the deli on our bbq night to get stocked up with lovely goodies for the 5 of us. We haven't been out much since lockdown and me and my 4 children headed to the deli, all with masks on (they're 9 and under so they don't need them but out of courtesy they have them). When we went in it was empty but we weren't met well. The lady didn't speak despite us putting santatiser on and waiting where it said. She eventually gestured down looking annoyed but immediately wanted me to tell her what I wanted... but I wasn't a local so I didn't know... I felt the pressure whilst she stood there eager to serve and it felt like see me gone. Then 2 more people arrived who worked there. By this time my eldest child was reading out the cake list to my youngest when one of them interjected "have the children made their decision yet?!". Clearly not... huffing and looking up at the other 2 people now queuing she told the other one to "go and explain"... I felt pressured and upset. If my children had made their decision they were still too small to go outside on their own, and we had only been in there for a total of about 90 seconds at this point but they wanted us gone. I ended up with 3 cakes and a sausage roll, and none of the things I wanted, hoping to spend a lot of money in there. This upset me since venturing out since lockdown is scary and they rushed me and my kids, like we weren't worthy. Terrible service. In a time when small businesses need people to spend their money it blows my mind, plenty of other shops out there will to give you not only customer service but courtesy (which we experienced by the bucket load when we went to Chipping Norton). Dreadful, as the other reviews have already said. Shame.

My wife and three children visited here today (I waited outside with our dog) to pick up some snacks, a coffee and some bits and pieces for our bbq this evening. Whilst the food inside looked appetising, the service leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. I can appreciate you may have had other customers waiting but whilst you have customers inside your shop that are prepared to part with their hard earned cash, it isn't particularly appreciated nor is it good practice to rush them to make a decision when you consider that they may be passing trade from a nearby camp site. If this is your attitude towards new customers during uncertain times like these, you'll need all the luck in the world to make it out the other side.

This is a child friendly cafe which is primarily a deli. It could be wonderful, but unfortunately the eating space was in need of a good clean, and the average food (at expensive prices) took ages to appear, despite it being quiet. We met a female member of the team who was super friendly, and a young chap who clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Needs improvement! We’d love a good local!

A Deli and Takeaway could be very successful, but the Cafe, its overpriced with the food menu lacking both imagination or much in the way of quality. You go to the counter to order, staff were totally disintrested no effort to engage or sell up their offer. Found a table and waited for the tea, the sausage bap arrived after a resonable time accompanied by dirty cultery which matched the condition of the tables, serious cleaning required. Sadly whilst the bap was good its contents consisted of sausages lacking any taste. Had to revisted the counter to find out what happened to the tea, the lady who served me, oh my fault, well yes, but four staff including her had just been standing round chatting whilst I had been sitting with my bap waiting. The teapot arrived, very poorly cleaned or rather not cleaned externally by a dishwasher, by no apology for the wait. The Cafe area was cold despite the presence of a radiator as the outside door is left permanently opened! This could be a very successful business as the area has visitors all year round, but theses are not being catered for, the Deli is the preserve of the locals only and for this operation to survive it requires a greater investment in staff engagement and a more extensive menu to reflecting the food produced in the Cotswolds. I am in the area regularly but will not be revisiting this Cafe. missed opportuinty to run a excellent Cafe.

We went in here at 1:30 pm on a Saturday when the Bull next door was packed. It was totally empty but despite that the staff looked disinterested in serving us. Our table was covered in something sticky which looked like honey. I asked for the table to be wiped and was greeted fairly unpleasantly. When the food arrived I had quiche and salad. The quiche looked to be bought in and was ok but the salad was shocking. Black rotting edges to the lettuce. Something you would just put in the bin at home. It was really expensive too. We were the only customers there but still got served poorly. It was a miserable experience. It's a great shame as Charlbury is such a lovely place to visit and a good cafe would really enhance it.

A shared owner deli. Over 80 locals chipped in to ensure the Deli's continuous existence at the Old Bank. Great local products, great sandwiches, and we were especially charmed with the 'Kids platter': a platter with cut cherry tomatoes, cucumber sticks, cheese cubes and pita with houmous. Having walked to Charlbury from Stionesfield we were in need of refreshments. Overall an good experience, the positives were the location, freindliness, home made scones and my husbands espresso macchiato. And looking at other peoples food it all look tasty and home made. The areas that could be improved are in the organisation. To be fair it was a busy Saturday morning in a quiet leafy rural village, and everyone had all the time in the world so nobody was put out. At least one of the staff were clearly on day one or maybe even a trial shift. One table of six was visited maybe 6+ times to deliver their drinks, whilst others were waiting to be greeted. Even if sitting in you have to queue to be served and then they bring to you. With a long wait this can be uncomfortable but maybe the wait isn't normal. My cortado was served with 2 shots, but they were very obliging whe I asked for more milk....I was asked if my husband's macchiato was single or double so if we'd said double I guess that would have been the same as a macchiato? Whatever, the coffee ended up being good and I would DEFINITELY give it another go.Mostly locals using it for both sit down and take-away either sandwiches or other deli items. Really nice to see a local business (apparently co-owned by 80+ locals) doing well. I'll definitely spport it.

So, I called in today to buy myself a little 'sweet treat' to enjoy with my coffee when I got home. I waited right by the counter and firstly was brushed past by the surly waitress without an 'excuse me' or 'oops, sorry'. Then I stood and waited for at least ten minutes without any acknowledgement, 'be with you in a moment' or 'can I help', while the three members of staff just carried on chatting to each other. hen I asked the lady at the till if she could get me the cake I had chosen, she completely ignored me and began to take payment from a customer who had eaten-much to his perplexed look and my surprise. The only way I could get any service at all was to stare at one of the young lads behind the counter until he stopped what he was doing and asked me what I wanted. Having paid what seems on reflection, rather a large amount of money for a small square of lemon curd shortbread, I have resigned myself not to return to this establishment because they clearly were not bothered about my contribution to their business, which is a shame because I may have considered returning with family to sample lunch at some stage. Sadly that will not now be happening. Manners don't cost anything but can make a huge difference.

Swirly carpet gone...hurrah! Stylishly rustic, woodburners blazing, candles lit, great atmosphere and even greater food, even on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Oh the lamb's liver starter!....it was a dream! as was the venison sausage and the ham egg and chips. Warm, friendly welcome from Dan...perfect front of house. Who wouldn't want this on their doorstep. Maybe we should move back! Congratulations!

The food was very good. the decor and place is nice. we were only a table of 6 adults but the food was very very slow to come out. nearly an hour wait for out roasts and 40 mins wait for puddings. the service was good but again we constantly had to ask more than once for things but we would come again ps don’t order the eton mess if you are expecting normal eaton mess. no mention of it being sorbet.
