Bit lost lf I'm honest, now why did I say that.. The white heart has been the goto for many locals used to give the best food and drink for quite literally miles What happened? Turned up to a well packed car park so that's always a good sign 👍👍👍 Walked in on a large is guy behind the bar picking his ear so already now put off, he was nice enough when we said I had a table booked for me and my wife for my birthday He asked us to go through to a small waiting area and we will be seated.. So we are in a old pub with low beams, optics on the wall behind the bar high top tables all around ect you get the idea and in two steps walked into a purple painted room with mirrors everywhere and doll heads stuck on to of the pc screen, odd things everywhere from pink dog looking thing on a window ledge and miss match of seating and church bench seating??? With a very very tired looking floor Walked past a load of random miss matching pictures and we sat in a room with old vinal covers stuck to the wall windows were dirty, dust quite literally everywhere and food on the window ledge near me, table was not clean so I used the table cloth that had been left on the table, After a few mins a lady came to serve us but the music was sooo loud I had to ask a number of times when she said after that we waited another few mins and another lady came out with so warm water in a vodka bottle for drinking water at the table.. Just what you want on a hot day nice warm water in a sticky bottle, glasses were filthy so we left them to one side so we ordered lemonade, that arrived in some cornish drink glass, again all very odd Lady returned and asked if we wanted to order, that as well was harder than it needed to be the menu is SHOCKING whoever set that out needs sacking!! I had to look on socal media to see any portion sizes and what any of the meals are! The menu is 3 pages rammed with drink one for food very very badly set out Menu had some screwed up way to put the price by leaving a 0 off the end?? the bbq section was a real headache!! I mean it reads like this ;- bbq by 1/12b +11b pickles??? Baby back pork ribs 10/20??? WTF!!! So I settled for a cheeseburger it's only because my wife asked a question about what the fries are with her burger the girl said no that's just the burger! What so if my wife had no asked the question I had would have had a burger on an empty plate!! When you order a cheeseburger meal at pub since when have to got to order every other part of the meal this is not bugerking! We settled on dirty fries to to added our "meal" Miss matched Knives and forks came out that I had to CLEAN for me and my wife as they were water stained with heavy scratches and it was then I realised the cloth I cleaned our table with was our personal napkin of sorts 🙄 Watching the room and reading the vibe on how everyone is the mood was ok at best, the couples behind me were annoying everyone by licking her fingers and popping them out her mouth like a child.. Yuck! My eyes drifted towards the serving hatch and I could see the kitchen staff sorting out the food, the chef looked very hot and few times had to wipe his face.. No why is that important well he wiped his face with his hand and then grabbed a few chip holders for meal prep and then stuck his hand in chips box he had taken from the deep fat fryer to cool off as such and grabbed a load of chips with the same hand crushed a load of chips in the pot and put them out for service to take!!! Food was basic and nothing to make me what to revisit really. This pub used to be the best around for food not anymore burger was cooked but not really enough to be my taste of a burger that cooked all the way through not wet inside We asked for pudding after waiting close to 10 mins to be served Pudding was a little better but not worth the wait of money We asked for the bill and it came out inside a dvd box with a few sweets inside??? Why Decided we are not going back Poor food Warm drinks Loooooong wait times Dirty seating area Odd and distracting decor Mismatched water stained cutlery Miss matched seating horrible menu layout! My feeling was I was sitting in a antique shop full of junk while being served food from a dark kitchen that had only just started up If you want better food goto the star quite literally 5 min walk away, or do a bbq for yourself from the local tescos a mile away in Milford

Check before you go especially if your travelling there from a distance after seeing it on social media, they had run out of both pork and beef Ribs at 6pm 6.30pm on a bank holiday. Other than that food and atmosphere can’t be faulted.

Not worth the tiktok hype unfortunately We travelled 40’mins to try. Good was hit and miss - some of it was good but most pretty bland. Pleasant service but v slow.

Went for pig out Monday and we certainly did that! The food, service and atmosphere were top notch as ever. Our go-to place to eat out in the area. I had the “Honey Buttered Toast with Matcha Ice Cream” for pudding and it was incredible! Super gooey but the Matcha ice cream balanced it out. Mega.

Great place for a quick bite, especially if you're after BBQ!

We saw this BBQ pub online and thought we had to try it! The food was great and so was the service. We went for the sharer plate for 3 however it was enough for 1 so we ended up getting a burger each as well!

It's a bit meh. Don't rate the food unfortunately it all tasted the same. Ribs were salty beef tasted like the ribs turkey tasted like the beef and the ribs pork belly was awful. Staff were slow but friendly which is fine it was a Saturday night. Nice little pub probably nice for a evening with friends having a drink.

First visit. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Great food! The bbq is brilliant. They know how to properly do smoked bbq. Seriously worthy place. Put it on your to eat list. The BBQ platter was too much food but they will provide a doggy bag. Would’ve got a photo but I was in a rib trance. A-mazing!

Been to alot of BBQ outlets from Austen TX to Kansas City,and this smokehouse is up there.Reminds ne of The Big easy 3o years ago(Kings Rd,Chelsea).Beef short Rib/Baby back Ribs the stand out.Best thing to happen to Surrey for a while.Congrats whoever owns it,youve nailed it!

Don't understand what the fuss is about, it's just crude food. Chicken wings were tasteless, might as well just eat the chilli sauce. Short ribs looked nice but tasted overly smokey and dry, just not pleasant and wasn't a meal, just some pickled bits on the side, kimchi was disgusting and not edible. Nothing to bring together as a meal, really disappointing for the price. Nice atmosphere and staff were good but felt like they'd overbooked, and probably why the food was suffering.

Always a 5 star experience. The White Hart is a firm favourite of ours - a classic country pub feel with an interesting twist. We are never disappointed by the smoked meats and fun and creative burger of the month the White Hart has to offer. All the staff look like they genuinely love working there and the whole place has a warm and welcoming feel. Highly recommend this spot.

The food was pretty good, and we enjoyed the sharing platter, but the service was slow, and some of our food arrived cold. Our table was tucked away in a corner, making it hard to get the waitstaff's attention. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, and it’s dog-friendly in parts. Given they were fully booked, it seemed like there weren’t enough staff to keep up.

Overall the food was pretty good but wasn't massively impressed. The meat was very tender but had a unusual heavy smoke flavour or a lighter fluid aftertaste.

Went for a friends birthday. Food was below average, everything burnt and tasted like charcoal

Always a great meal. Can’t fault the staff - they went out of there way to accommodate us. And food was 10/10! My only gripe is that it’s not nearer. Albeit we’ll definitely be back.

Friendly service, lovely concept and amazing music , but food was not that impressive on my opinion , i mean it’s okay , not bad, but not wow. We only had starters, I mean the worst was kimchi…. So a good place to stop by, and hopefully other dishes are more impressive .

Absolutely delicious, generously proportioned food. Gorgeous setting and cool ambience. The interior boasts a stylish decor which somehow seamlessly merges with the original historical pub building and cool period features. The smoked meats mean the whole place smells amazing and the staff are friendly and attentive and we're happy to accommodate us at really short notice on a busy half term day. The burger I had was one of the best I've ever eaten.

Very nice place. Staff very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our food, rice bowl With short rib was full of flavours, cedar sald with short rib very fresh and tasty, Korean wings in my opinion had too much sauce and almost swim in it ( buts it’s my personal preference). Absolutely delicious milk shake yummy. Would definitely come back

Great experience from start to finish! Really great staff and super friendly, I would suggest trying the tacos and buffalo wings! Reasonably priced but awesome food, The homemade BBQ sauce is the best thing I have ever tasted. Loaded fries were like no others, a little heavy on the salt for me but great flavour. The only thing I wasn't 100% on was when they ask you an amount to tip, it makes it a little awkward and pressured. 100% will be going back very soon with friends.

Was expecting a lot more as the reviews are very good. My husband had the short rib and I the burger very average and the Madri beer was surprisingly warm!

Been to the pub quite a few times previously. I went with my husband for a once in a blue moon child free evening & properly spoilt ourselves! Food was amazing, the staff are super friendly & helpful, even gave me the recipe for one of the cocktails! We had a lovely evening, great laugh & a good time spent!! Will definitely be going back!

Went for the first time today and was so impressed. I had the burger and was perfect, the best burger I’ve had in a really long time. Finished off with the Sundae which was delicious. The staff are super friendly and spoilt my dog rotten which he really appreciated!

Sublimely Smokey BBQ at its very best - beautifully executed down to the garnishes, from quality local ingredients. Well worth a detour if you're in the area.

loved the barbecue, we had the beef ribs. the birria tacos were not my favourite, flavours and spices were too overpowering even for a birria. the library dinner area is quite chilly, so book ahead if you want to sit in the main part. great bloody mary! cant wait to try some of the other dishes.

I haven’t been for a couple of years, but The White Hart were brilliant over Lockdown and did a take away service which was incredible. Beer was fantastic and great range of craft and traditional. The Dirty fries and pulled pork burger simply amazing! The down side, parking is a nightmare on a busy road, not many spots, very tight with poor visibility at entrance/exit.

My children took me for my Christmas treat. SO glad they did. I had the weeks special burger. This came between two Yorkshire puddings. With turkey, stuffing, pig in blanket ,extras, and fries. I took this down with a nice pint of Landlord’s. Waitress was lovely. And took seriously my Daughters food requirements.

Came here for lunch as the ratings on google were good. Got sat in the ‘library’ with no warning that it might be cold. They said they would light a fire but had to ask 3 different people again as it wasn’t lit. And of course probably wouldn’t have heat up the room for a while anyway. Table next to us had finished and were also told the fire would be lit pre starting their meal. Food was edible, expensive for what it was. Would not recommend.

Considering the storm and power cuts, the staff did a tremendous job at keeping everyone happy and the atmosphere good. Great staff. Good food. Would definitely go back

Had Chicken Wings to Start and Pork Belly for Main. Brilliant Food, lovely service and the theme of US in an old English Pub is brilliant. Had a great meal with all the family.

Amazing food and service. The Sharer tray is amazing. We got the Viet Slaw Dirty Fries, and Mac N Cheese too and we're VERY happy! Loads of food! We somehow had room to share a fish food ice cream and cookie dough dessert that was incredible too. It's really good here and they have food for everyone. If you're not into the smoked meats then they have Asian food options too

Service is truly brilliant. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Decor is lovely, cosy and welcoming. However food wasn't as great as we had hoped. Quite overpriced to for what we had. The rice bowl had too many conflicting flavours. The ceaser side was delicious but really just very expensive lettuce with tasty source. Short rib had great flavour and was beautifully smokey but a bit too fatty for our liking. Lovely venue just wish the food had been better

We stopped off for lunch enroute to our holiday destination. Never been before so just chancing it. We certainly landed on our feet, the staff and service was great and the food was absolutely amazing! I had the Korean chicken burger, which was just bursting with flavours, just gorgeous! The establishment was that good, we stopped off again on our way home after our holiday. I had the same burger, I didn't want to risk trying to improve on perfection by trying something else. I did have a dessert though too! If ever in the area again, this place is at the top of my list!

Wandering through Witley came across this quintessential English country pub, run by a charming ex pat South African lady. We were only looking for coffee but no problem. Cosy atmospheric interior with real log fire. We saw food being served and it looked and smelled delicious. Well worth seeking out if your in the area.

One of our favourite places to eat, excellent if you are a meat lover but they cater for vegans as well.

Love this pub, been a firm favourite for years. Great smokehouse with a pretty small but exquisite menu. The burgers are by far the best of any pub we've been too, and the cocktail menu is different, funky and they always taste great. Huge drinks selection. Lovely oldy woldy pub, low ceilings, real fireplace, wooden beams but with an funky vibe, not pretentious at all. Kid and dog friendly too! Must get dessert!

Such a treat to celebrate a friend's birthday here. We ordered a meat platter for four and it was absolutely massive; more than enough food! It was really delicious, although some of the meats were slightly on the salty side so be aware if you're sensitive to that. Otherwise, we had such a great time and we were also given boxes to takeaway the leftovers which was a huge bonus!

Lovely food and very friendly service. Just a littttlleee slow. Once things got going it was fine, but we were seated and with menus and it was a good 40 mins before the drinks were on the table. If you speed up I'll order more drinks!!

An absolutely incredible dining experience. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff, who made us feel right at home and were ready to answer our questions straight from the outset. They had humour and whit to match any good comedian. When it came to deciding, they were fantastic at helping navigate our choices, bringing some more of that humour and whit, giving us an already incredible dining experience before the food even came our way. And when the food did come, it matched everything they hyped it to be (and more!). Incredible flavours, amazingly served, adventurous and creative in not only unique recipes (certainly we've never seen things like this elsewhere) but also in their whole food experience crated by presentation and staff. Basically, go! Get yourself there for lunch, for dinner, or any other food reason, you won't regret it! It is meat haven, burger central, and full of fun and creative flavours and ideas!

Great barbecue food, highly recommended. They did try to rush us out when the next booking arrived early which wasn’t a great experience particularly as we were already paying.

I had half a pint of larger and lime it tasted horrible I got home and was ill. I looked up the hygiene rating and was shocked. I have been ill all night and today. The lime must be bad or even the lager perhaps your pipes aren’t clean or cleaned properly and have some sort of bacteria. There is no excuse for a 1 star hygiene rating.

Beer was ok but seating inside was very limited for non-diners. We had seniors with us and had to decamp to a tent like structure outside. Not great.

Really good pub food, if a little pricey, but that's fine. The beer selection was good too and came in destictive glasses. We had to wait a while for the food but a busy good pub, you'd expect that, but worth the wait, it was lovely, good portion sizes too. Big pub garden also. We're definitely going again.

Heard this was a great place to visit and was certainly super charged by smell of the smoker on arrival, but sadly the meat platter and sides didnt live up to the hype and were pretty bland - so all in all that was a bit of a shame and we won't be returning.

Came here for my birthday and was really looking forward to it after reading all the good reviews however the food did not live up to the reviews unfortunately. We had a bbq tray to share and some sides. We did not enjoy the taste of the meat at all. The dirty fries were average and the viet-slaw was okay. My husband had an upset stomach on return home which we can’t be 100% sure it was due to this food however, he hadn’t eaten anything else that day so it seems a bit of a coincidence. The homemade lemonade was good so I wouldn’t recommend anything else apart from the lemonade.

Still serving at 3pm on a weekday, which is a novelty. Menu is refreshing, great BBQ and burger options. Friendly staff with fast service.

I really rate this pub , really lovely staff and service they really took care of us . We has the BBQ meat platter to share which was incredible; really sumptuous and well priced . I highly recommend it to fans of meat platters and bbq style food .

Wow. My daughter moved nearby. This is now our go to pub when I visit. Beer choice on hand pump could be better. Home made lemonade is a go to for Son & Daughter. BBQ food is outstanding. The Ramen is as good as a high quality Chinese restaurant. The rice bowl & sides have a multitude of flavourings. The burgers are a happy go to if you cannot decide from the BBQ. The sides are outstanding. The desserts and shakes are quality. Chefs have it nailed. And the young serving staff have all been a delight. Keep the bar at this level please. We want to return many times.

Due to a website malfunction, my takeaway order didn’t go through properly. On arrival to collect my food I was advised that the kitchen were overwhelmed, despite the restaurant being half empty. I was asked to wait 10 minutes before they could take my order again, 15 minutes later I was asked to wait another 10 minutes. After that it took a while for the food to arrive - I’m pretty chilled about these things and appreciate things go wrong sometimes, but at no point did the staff apologies for the issues or the wait…. I was just directed to the bar to spend £7 on a pint while I waited! I’ll think twice before returning and hope it’s a one-off!

We stopped off at The White Hart for lunch this weekend to refuel and rehydrate on our cycle ride. The food was great and well priced. Everyone on the team was wonderful, thanks guys! We really enjoyed the little detail in the way the bill was presented too.

We stopped here to break up a long road trip and having not been here before the food was unreal and well priced and they definitely know how to do a proper Guinness it was spot on! We both had burgers and chips, and then had cookie dough for desert so would highly recommend those! Will definitely be coming back whenever in the area again.

Such a warm welcome and enjoyable dining experience. We had the tray and 2 sides between 2 and struggled to finish. Meat were amazing, especially the short rib. Gutted we didn't have room for pud as they all looked delicious. We'll definitely be back!

This place is simply amazing! The food is to die for and the puddings are worth coming back and then dying for again! We have particularly loved the ramen bowl, the meat tray, the chicken burger and the dirty fries! The homemade lemonade is lush, in every flavour! All the staff are all excellent- friendly, funny, helpful, knowledgeable of the entire food and drinks menus and nothing is too much trouble. They all go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable and seemless. Huge shutout to Olga who was great the whole time for us. She bought our dogs water and treats (and fusses) more than once! And when we had stayed probably too long and our table was needed for the next booking, she helped us find another lovely place to sit and continue the fun. The whole place is clean, well kept and decorated stylishly, facilities are great and the choices of where to sit are fab too. Definitely come here, and then come back again and again, just like we have!

Probably one of the best pub meals I have ever had. Ordered the sharing meat platter and was blown away at the quality and taste if it. Would recommend any day of the week.

Popped in on a busy Friday night and we hadn't booked. Staff were really helpful and more than happy to find us a table even though we had a short wait. Food was fantastic, great atmosphere and reasonly priced too.

Not enough good vegan and vegetarian options

After reading the great reviews we popped in on the off chance there may be a table for us to have an early dinner. Despite it being really busy the very helpful front of house lady managed to accommodate us. We had an excellent meal, so many delicious flavours! All the staff were attentive & friendly. Thank you for squeezing us in, we very much look forward to returning!

Came with friends for dinner , food was tasty but it is expensive for what you get and you need to order sides otherwise you will just get a plate of meat , the food was well cooked and the staff are friendly.

My favourite pub in Surrey by a MILE. Came here with a mate for a catchup meal and pint. Greeted by Fiona who was very friendly and got us to our seats immediately. We were then looked after by Olga for the rest of the evening. My mate and I have been coming here since before covid when Burger Tuesdays (Burger, Fries and Pint for £10) was a thing and the White Hart never fails to disappoint. It’s the only pub in Surrey I’ve been to that the service, food and atmosphere is always 10/10. We had a couple of pints of Word Lager, two portions of Pulled Pork Nuggets, and two of the O.D.B. Burgers. The food and drink was without fault so hats off to the bartenders and the Chefs. Olga served us all evening and she was ON IT. So positive, friendly, great help with recommendations and making sure everything was okay. Class pub, class staff and class atmosphere. We were also told by Olga that the Chef was the one controlling the music… unreal playlist mate. Tame Impala, Jungle, Bellaire… the list goes on 🤝 *I never write reviews on TripAdvisor but the White Hart deserves all the support it can get. It’s so rare you find a pub that is very good consistently over a few months, let alone years. Class guys

Well this is my new GO-TO … amazing food . We had the different chicken wings totally outstanding. My partner and his son are real sleuths for a tasty wing . They were both amazed at the freshness and flavour. I had the chicken Katsu rice bowl for main and had a lot of variety in that bowl and really great flavours. The other two had the Monday special which was a huge stack of ribs absolutely delicious. I had a large glass of rose , this was very good as well and very reasonably priced , compared to some pubs I have been to. Great service managed by young serious funny professional … really cool guys. Well done and we will be back. The sauces we bought were very tasty. Thank you

This pub became our fav for ribs, especially on their Monday night 12 pounds special. The cozy dining table around the bar and the room called the library are dog friendly, they have some tables in a larger room and some in a covered patio… so there is a good chance to walk in and sit in the outdoor covered area, but in a weekend it is imperative to book for indoor tables. We love their ribs, but they have a wider selection of bbq meat as well. The staff is fast, young and friendly and they always try to accomodate you also when they are extra busy. A very good pub restaurant that became our favorite in the area.
