The Six Bells in Waverley

Arrived, got seated, waited 10 mins then had to re-approach the bar to take a drinks order. Waited another 10 mins for it to arrive. Consequently we only stayed for 1 drink instead of a couple and dinner. It’s a shame, this could have been our new local but It was a terrible experience. 20 mins wait for a drink. Not everyone endured the same terrible service, the couple that came in after us had their order taken immediately. It’s understaffed with only 2 people working on a Friday night, this wasn’t an anomaly as the only other time I ventured in was exactly the same problem. It’s one of those places that can’t decide if it’s a pub or a restaurant, lots of reserved tables with nobody sat at them. Staff are too busy to be welcoming, the music is awful hits of the 80s that you wish you could forget. Some guy left the toilets without washing his hands (during COVID and it was the cubicle he was using) - not the pub’s fault but a hallmark of the culture it breeds. Hand sanitizer had run out on entry. I understand leisure industry has gone through a turbulent period but that doesn’t mitigate how terrible an experience it was. I won’t be returning.

We booked a table, arrived and was shoved in a corner table, we sat for 15 minutes and no one came to take an order so we left. I messaged them to say it was unacceptable and the response was ‘we were training’ ? On a Saturday might at 8.30pm ? Very bad customer service not impressed

We visited the Siz Bells once the lockdown restrictions had been semi-lifted (April) - the outdoor seating area is good and all undercover. I had the scampi & chips which was lovely. My other half had fish & chips which again, was really nice. I do think it's a little on the pricey side but during these times, I don't mind giving my money to local pubs who have suffered over the past year.Will be back again! Thanks.

Hopeful that new owners and a fresh start after lockdown would have got this place back on track. Sad to say it continues to be a below average experience. Such a shame as the refurbishments that have taken place over the years have made it a lovely pub, inside and out.We popped in for a quick lunch and sat outside where the space is well set up. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming so it started off well. I ordered a chicken, avocado and bacon salad. Clearly the chicken is pre cooked and then re heated to char it when the orders come in. The result was the driest, toughest, flavourless and inedible chicken I’ve ever tasted. I managed to finish one mouthful before pushing to the side. The bacon again was pre cooked and cut up and placed limply around the plate. To be balanced the lettuce was ok.When the waitress asked how things were I advised the chicken was inedible and it just wasn’t a good plate of food. She was apologetic and said she would tell the chef. Sadly we got no response from the chef which is an indication of how little they care. We then paid up and left. The menu options were a bit average but as long as they are all cooked well that can still be a good thing. If you can’t get a salad right then I dread to think how the chef will cope with more complex tasks. No chef with any sort of pride would use dried out pre cooked ingredients.

Visited in late October for lunch. I had a delicious salad of grilled chicken, olives and avocado. It was excellent.

Sunday lunch just isnt what it used to be, today we took our in laws for lunch and boy was I disappointed. Kids fish fingers used to be lovely coujons but are now just burnt supermarket things which were burnt to a crisp and my 'Sirlion' roast dinner was now a grey grisly, fatty and over cooked piece of beef. Vegetables were pretty much the same.Front of house staff tried but you could see they had no help. Sadly I don't think we'll be back, shame it used to be a great.

We visited here on 30th August for a Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it... From the friendliness of the staff to the enjoyment of the meal would definately visit again.

Visited Sunday 23rd August, first time since new owners arrived. After ordering and waiting for over 1 hour with 2 young kids, we were asked whether we wanted to order more drinks, so we asked how much longer the food would be (as you would, right?). 15 minutes, apparently, after checking with the kitchen, with an excuse that everyone arrived at the same time (except that there were only 3 other tables before us and all of them had been served and finished heir food). OK, so we ordered more drinks. Instead of getting them right away like you might expect after being told there's a problem, the lady, who I assumed was the manager, went to the kitchen and brought out plates for the table across from us who arrived a good 45 after we did. 15 minutes later, still no 2nd round of drinks on the table, we're told that they don't have any left of the kids meal we ordered. This was the last straw, we offered to pay for the drinks (which we did not have to - the only redeeming feature) and left. We eat out quite often and normally had desserts, paid, and left by this time - it's the first time we have ended up leaving like this but it was late and we had kids to feed before dark.

We popped in last night and had a lovely meal. Good luck to the new owners - staff were super friendly and offered a relaxed atmosphere!

Visited the restaurant on Wednesday 26th August with my teenage daughter. Totally disorganised with 3 girls behind the bar and only 1 waitressing. Our drinks took so long to come after the waitress had taken my order that I went to the bar myself to get them. Not a huge selection of items on the menu so we both went for steak. 45 minutes later our meal finally arrived. All i can say is that what was on our plate did not resemble steak. It had been burnt to within an inch of its life and was completely tasteless. The waitress forgot our cutlery and so we waited another 5 minutes for that. The Six Bells has changed hands and all I can say is that it's in the wrong hands entirely.

Lovely food & service ! Visited this evening for the first time under the new owners. Food was good and the service was excellent. Beer (Peroni) was pretty decent too, will be coming back again soon. (It’s shame that some of the old reviews are still attached to this place !)

Cannot fault the staff, so friendly. But the food was just not that great. Will not be returning. The steak was tough and the fat had not even been trimmed off it.

I had to meet some people in here and ordered the goulash. When it came, it had been microwaved far too long! The meat was dry and inedible, the dumpling (which is new to me for a goulash) you could break rocks with it. I complained to the 'new management' and they were more interested if they had the drinks round correct (which they didn't) My wife did not even get her meal!!!???Top & bottom, we could not wait to get out of there and will NEVER EVER return!

Having eaten here on numerous occasions and been more than satisfied. I am sad to leave a review that isn’t positive. Having tried all day yesterday and the day before to book a table with no luck I give up. For reference the object that looks like a phone and rings, you should try picking it up as me and my friends are now eating elsewhere.

We held an event for 60 people in the conservatory which was managed really well by the staff that evening.Food was really good and presented well and plentiful.Bar staff were excellent.We had live entertainment recommended and supplied by the Bells.Not my original booking but was promised replacement would be good and they were.A duet who catered for all age groups there.Because we had the conservatory and that side of the pub for our function it was just as good as a private venue but was cosier and friendlier than a hall.Faultless evening and was better than I anticipated.

From the moment we walked in, the lovely atmosphere and friendliness of the staff oozed into the pub. We were three adults and four children and the food was exceptional- tasty, hot and plentiful. It was refreshing that the kid’s were offered the adult’s menu ( half sized portions of the adult’s) rather than the usual chicken nuggets. The kids even said it was the best meal they’d ever had in a pub. We’re looking forward to enjoying further lunches and dinners there soon, with and without the kids. A fantastic pub all round. Thank you again to the team.

Went for a large prebooked family Sunday lunch and skittles in the hired room, the staff were really friendly and efficient, the Sunday roast was delicious large portions. Highly recommended traditional pub with great menu. Will return.

Staff pleasant but service slow. food nice enough but not consistently hot. They forgot one drink and then billed us for it. Would not rush back.

Thanks to Jo and her team at The Six Bells in Farnham. Celebrated my sons 16th birthday there, great friendly service in a cosy environment, fantastic food. Also great background music to accompany the fun skittles. Nothing was too much, would definitely go back, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The table was not set for the correct number of people and ended up being moved around several times before getting it right. The meals were pre-ordered but when they came out they were not as ordered Beef Bourguignon became braised steak and was very salty so could not be eaten, sauces did not come with other meals and cold custard with the crumble desert to finish it of. Service very slow.

We arrived at seven to eat at seven thirty. I eventually ate my main meal at five to ten. This is even though it had been pre ordered. Food came out with no vegetables, which then appeared after the meat had been eaten, the cranberry sauce appeared after everything had been eaten! This is totally unacceptable. People with intolerances had further issues and items pre ordered were not available. People left before eating their pudding it was so late coming at 10.20pm. Not a place to revisit.

I just wanted to congratulate the Six Bells and their staff on being phenomenal. There was 16 adults and 8 babies under 4 months old and they provided the most accommodating environment and didn't even bat an eyelid and the number of small people. The food was lovely the service was great and the room had a wonderful Christmassy feel.

Went for a group Christmas meal, early December on a lunch time mid week. There were a few other parties going on, but all pre booked and ore ordered. We were booked for 12, to eat at 1230. We still hasn’t had our pudding at 245 - many had to leave without as on school run. Service was so slow. I had pâté which was ok. Belly pork was tough to cut, let alone eat, and no crispy top, veg very minimal, and when cheese eventually came out the staff apologised, they’d run out of crackers?? Seriously? When we all Pre ordered? - I was given two rivita biscuits instead. And about 1/10th of a piece of celery?! And blue cheese crumbled over the top as it looks like that was running short too. What’s the point of pre ordering if they can’t be organised enough to provide? They knew how many people expected, yet no where near enough staff on. Won’t be rushing back

Attended for a Christmas party last night. There were about 50 of us. The staff were lovely and attentive, I never had to wait to be served at the bar. The three course meal was fabulous. Hot, fresh and really tasty. Wine and alcohol prices were very fair. We then had a band playing who outstanding too. The manager Jo was delightful as were all her team. I was expecting the usual “mass catering “ and lack of care that is often offered at Christmas parties. Quite the opposite. I will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Been to the Six Bells for Sunday lunch twice and a Friday evening meal and have to say this is hands down the best pub in Farnham.

We were seated right away for a family dinner of 6 and even though the restaurant was fairly busy the staff were exemplary and quick to take our order. Our drinks arrived only a few minutes later and the food only 20 minutes later. All of the food was amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, and the kids definitely liked the skittles at the end. Overall the Six Bells is an amazing place with amazing staff and gorgeous food and finally a warm cozy environment for all ages . We definitely be recommending to many friends

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with twinkling lights all around, very cosy and warm. 11 of us had lunch after a long walk. We had pre-ordered and food came up after a short wait. Lunchtime menu slightly limited, standard pub grub, but we were all happy with our choices. Service was good and all the meals came up together. Pleasant staff. Would recommend.

This is our 2nd visit went on our anniversary what a disaster,it started well seated straight away not busy at all order for food and drinks taken promptly.

On our first visit to The Six Bells, my friends and I were very impressed with the welcome and subsequent service from our waitress, who was attentive and chatty (but not intrusive in our conversations). The menu was interesting - 'posh pub food' best covers it, good selection of burgers, traditional mains such as bangers and mash and fish and chips with more unusual options such as garlic and thyme chicken supreme with dauphinoise potato, savoy cabbage and pancetta. we were very full after our mans so sadly we didnt get to the puddings, which looked super too, The restaurant was quiet on a Tuesday evening - actually we appreciated that because we were able to talk without shouting as we have to in some restaurants.

I’ve not only found a new local in Farnham but also a great place to eat and entertain with friends. The food/service is fantastic and the whole staff are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended 👍

This Pub has the most professional staff, a really warm friendly atmosphere, the food is extremely well presented and tasty. The Manager Jo always goes the extra mile to make sure all customers are happy, has a great team working for her and we just love the place. Definitely recommend the Six Bells.

Excellent food that was cooked freshly and presented well. Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing and the bill was very reasonable.

We held a 70th birthday party for 17 people plus kids in the skittle room at this pub. We all had a roast lunch which was excellent. The young staff could not have been more helpful and efficient. Organisation was top notch and full marks to the manageress who communicated well and ensured all ran smoothly on the day. The pub is very busy with a decent selection of ales and a good atmosphere. We shall come again.

We held a 70th birthday lunch with family and friends on Sunday 10th November 2019.The party room with skittle alley was perfect. The food was delicious and plentiful. We were all very impressed with the young staff. They were all so helpful, friendly and professional. The manageress certainly knows how to organise and train her staff to work well under pressure in a very busy lively pub.We all had a really good time and we would not hesitate to recommend the Six Bells Pub.

Booked for our family for Sunday roast! Food was pretty ok but the service was the worst we’ve experienced; no staff anywhere, waited ages for plates to be cleared, had to ask over and over and gave up before desert for fear of not leaving before closing! just one poor lady working the entire restaurant/pub - get more staff!!

Visited the pub last night and sorry to say we were not impressed. Firstly we were ignored at the bar. Smokers continually walked through the restaurant area leaving the doors open and letting the cold and smoke in so we moved, as did others. The food service was slow and average pub food. We had to request Dauphinoise potatoes as they were omitted. Eventually we paid the bill and they omitted the service charge which we were going to remove anyway. Lots of apologies but too late. We won't be going there again. It is not a Gastropub more a pub that serves food.

The food was very lovely. Quick, nice service too. The only down side was the size of the Sunday roasts. For £16 it just didn’t seem to be very much food and the side of cauliflower cheese was 1 between 2 and not 1 each as implied on the menu.

Sadly a disappointing visit. This pub has real potential but needs to decide what it wants to be. It has the potential to be a gastro pub but isn’t. Smokers use the door through the restaurant into the garden but leave it open as it’s a fire door which means diners are left in the cold. Young staff try hard but lack proper guidance - not their fault. Food portions varied so if you are at the end of service at 8pm you certainly get less. Potatoes were forgotten and had to be asked for. Once we had deserts we were completely forgotten and even had to request the bill more then once. Nice evening because we were with lovely friends but regret suggesting to them that we met there.

Visited this pub in February for my birthday which was fab, came here today for my husband's birthday and was very disappointed. Firstly, the portion size was poor, luke warm food, roast potatoes were only just roasted so really disappointing for the money. It was not cheap for a sub standard roast, cannot believe how downhill it has gone since February when I was raving about the food. It will have to change a lot before I visit again. The young waiter that served us was good and they must have a tough job dealing with complaints

Sometimes good, sometimes terrible. We've had nice meals and terrible ones. Service sometimes good, sometime non-existent. Mouldy sandwich one time. Way overpriced for the quality - it has potential, the food could be good, just think there's a problem at the moment with the management and/or staff.

Called in for dinner. Food was good but service almost non existent. More interested in chatting with mates than looking after paying customers. Not a good experience. Plenty of better pubs nearby with caring staff and better value

We called in here for a quick drink before moving on elsewhere. The place was empty as it was mid-day. We had great drinks and sat in the warm cosy alcove next to the bar and relaxed. It was not long before others came in. It is a lovely place to have a drink and have a chat. Obviously the time we went was ideal but at weekends and evenings it does get very busy. The staffs are very efficient and friendly. Parking if required is ample and they have a garden area if required.

After a day of moving furniture we chose the Six Bells for dinner. We arrived early at 5pm and was told that food is served at 6pm so we had drinks before hand.

We have been here before and is the reason we returned to celebrate my Mum's 90th Birthday. We knew the food was always excellent and it was! Every family member said they had the best meal which is true. Sunday Roasts here are the best I ever ever tasted and the service at The Six Bell's is the absolute best, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We came in for a roast with friends. The place is nice and cosy and we were seated promptly. Staff are very welcoming and friendly! When we got there though we were told there is no child’s menu. Something I thought we would have been told when we booked saying we had a child with us. I’ve not ever heard of somewhere that doesn’t have a child’s menu. The Waiter said the chef could do us some sausages which we were grateful for. The food was nice, it wasn’t hot though however it didn’t bother me.

Very tasty baguette, brie and cranberry, when seeking a very quick bite - but the high point of the visit was the friendliness of Jo, the waitress. Thanks !

Restaurant freezing cold had to ask twice for heating to be turned on and we’re told they would have to ask permission from their manager who had gone AWOL! We were one of three older couples all complained of cold. Food was cold not just ours but other couples was too. Waitress was very sweet. Pies cold took back to kitchen re warmed in microwave yuk. Large fish came on board asked for it to be plated. Plate was brought to table and we had to transfer the fish at the table. Then to add insult to injury, 10% service charge was added to bill and when we requested it be removed we were asked why! Will definitely not be visiting again.

Came for a drink on a Friday night, thought we’d have some food (website said they served TIL 9pm) got some menus, answered questions about the pie of the day (sounded nice).......then told (at 7.45pm) that the kitchen was closed. Bl*****y ridiculous.

Last visited in March,and had a good meal for six adults. This visit was the complete opposite, staff didn't know what food was available from the menu, had to go and ask someone. All portions from different meals were very small.Rib eye steak medium rare was tough,took half of it away for our dog.Obviously complained manager took 25% off Bill.and said can not have medium rare Rib Eye has to be Medium Well done. Hot desert brought to table within 10 minutes, Vanilla ice cream x2 took alot longer and had turned to Chocolate ice cream while speaking to Manager.To complain. Summed it up

Fairly average experience, for Sunday lunch. Very slow service and when it did arrive it was barely warm and the potatoes were very hard. Took so long to serve us when we had finished and asked about desserts were told kitchen was closed.

Great Sunday lunch today, serlion roast was the best I've had in awhile. Service was also good and not at all like the reviews I've read.

Where do I start....My experience of The 6 Bells just went from bad to worse. Went at the start of the month to find the kitchen was closed. Despite this, we decided to try again later in the week. Initially we ordered a drink and was served by a smiley well mannered man, however this was where the great service ended. When we asked if we could sit down at a table for lunch we were directed to a young lady who was sat tapping away on her laptop. Her customer care skills were absolutely shocking. When posing the question ‘can we be seated to order some food please’ she looked up rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed about it as if we were an inconvenience. She took us to a table, gave us menus and asked if we would like a drink, even though she could clearly see we had full glasses just purchased from the bar. We were very disappointed at the lack of choice on the lunch menu, bog standard pub classics and a limited selection of sandwiches. Despite the disappointing menu we ordered two sandwiches, one on corn bread and one on rye bread. However when the order came out they were both served incorrectly, one on white and one on brown bread. The filling was very sparse ‘do you want any filling with that bread?’

Stopped today for food. Waitress didn’t know what the soup of the day was. Off she went to ask. Had limited Bank holiday menu. Asked what pie of the day was. Don’t know. Off she went. Asked if puff pastry yes. Fab. Two of those please ( about £13). What veg does that come with please.i off she went again!! Courgette broccoli n cauliflower. Fab one with no cauliflower please. Still waiting for drinks order. A pint n a soda n lime. Waiting .... not busy!!!! Drinks come , lemonade n soda! Nope. Off again. Food was shortcrust pie n mangetout n chips!! Eh??? Honestly . Manager said she’s get chef to cook some broccoli n cauliflower. Food was actually nice. Then bill. Charged £2.95 for lemonade n lime er no! So charged £2.00 for soda n lime. Then they add 10% service charge on!!!! Ask paying the staffs wages bill!!! I paid because in a hurry but what a shambles of service!!! Expensive for pub grub, sloppy useless staff. No wonder they continually advertise for staff.

The roasts were fantastic, nice size portions and the chef was very good to us as they had run of cauliflower cheese so gave us a generous portion of pigs in blankets. The waitress was ever so polite and helpful. Worth a visit.

Lovely food, nice staff, excellent gin menu, fairly slow service, but overall a very pleasant place.

Popped in at 8.45 to see if we could get a table that night for dinner as my fiance had been working late and wanted to take me out for dinner as I had a stressful few days so as I drive past twice a day and the website looked friendly and food menu looked good I suggested here- that was a big mistake!

We had been in town for the evening and late in the evening on Saturday Night 17th Aug we called into the Six Bells on our way home. The pub is actually very close to us but as its quite pricey (Beer £4:95) we tend to go elsewhere. Having said that we went in and found the place very empty. In fact we sat at the table in the window in the bar area and there was only one couple at the bar and one couple around the far side in the restaurant area. There appeared to be as many staff and visitors until we arrived as a party of 5. Anyway the drinks although pricey are absolutely excellent. The service from the staffs is always very good and they are extremely courteous and friendly.

Prompt , friendly communication with Ella beforehand . Very adaptable to our requirements over the menu choices.

Booked a table over the phone and was not warned of the large private party taking place on this particular Saturday evening. The pub was already loud when we arrived at 7.30pm and as it is open plan the restaurant area is the same volume as the bar. Having eaten here on a weeknight in the past with my partner, I decided to take my parents and grandparents here when they were visiting. Unfortunately the evening was ruined by slow service, undercooked food and loud music.

We had high hopes as the menu looks great online and we’d booked in advance... but the staff were less than accommodating when we arrived and service was incredibly slow. Music is blaring around the restaurant area as well as the bar so you can’t hear yourself think let alone talk between you. Perhaps Saturday evening was the wrong time to give this place a punt - but safe to say we won’t be back. The food was ok but nothing special (Coq au vin was chicken breast in a bit of sauce and the scampi was hidden in reams of batter).

Friday lunch - expected it to be busy but it wasn’t. Decor and setting is really good - restaurant area and they’ve made great use of the garden.

I’ll start by saying the food here isn’t bad, but that is the single redeeming quality.

A good selection of delicious cocktails which we enjoyed in the garden before joining our party in a private find g room. Prefer g the good was chaotic, may e because we were a large group but we waited s long time for someone to take our order and a very long time for the food yo arrive. No drinks service at the table but didn't wait long to be served at the bar even though the pub was busy. When we eventually got our meal it wad nicely presented but rather expensive for 6 pieces of scampi and a basket of chips.

When we arrived we waited 10 minutes at the service point to be acknowledged and seated even though we had a table booked, whilst the pub was reasonably busy it was not packed and there were empty tables.

I was looking for a venue for my daughters 21st Birthday party and had seen the sign outside re the newly furnished function room.Upon enquiring I was given contact Ella and from that point until the morning after true party was organised as we wanted with the stress. Ella met with us to discuss our needs and a budget agreed, a discussion on how we wanted the veining to run was had and the evening did run exactly as we wanted.

We had a lovely evening at the Six Bells, staff that were so friendly and accommodating, especially our waiter Kylan and Ella the events coordinator. We used the private events pod, based outside in the beautiful gardens as it was a warm evening and that made our evening very special. There was live music playing, food choice was good, with vegan options available. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We visited as a large group for a birthday meal and drinks, the staff were so accommodating and really attentive. The food was excellent and they had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. There was live music which was a lovely surprise too. I would definitely recommend visiting.

35+ family/friends at dinner, plus an additional 20+ friends for drinks after dinner. The party coordinator Ella was very responsive to any questions we had before arriving, and helped organize a fixed, three-course menu to help make the day move more smoothly. The staff on the day was very helpful and efficient. With such a large group, you might expect quite a few errors/delays, but overall the dinner went without any significant glitches. We also reserved two tables outside and pre-ordered drinks for those people which were not attending dinner, and the drinks were all set up without any issues.

Disappointing experience, although staff were friendly, it now seems to to lack charm and wants to be trendy. Lunch was average and not outstanding and the desserts were a disaster, ordered 2 Vegan gluten free crumbles from their menu and was served crumble with shortbread topping and freshly made milk custard. When we queried why, we were told that they had run out of Vegan crumbles. Think basic communication or understanding may have be lacking some what!!

I booked the function room and skittle alley for my mums 60th surprise party . When we arrived everything was set up ready . The pub was very busy as it was Father’s Day and there was a christening on but the staff were so good taking our drinks order and getting the food out on time . Food was great and whole day was lovely . Ella chandler was amazing from helping me plan to making sure the day ran smoothly . Also her staff Chris , Isaac and Alex was so helpful.

20+ family party took the skittles alley for an early evening supper and a fun game of skittles. When we arrived everything was set up for us with crisps and snacks on the tables anticipating the arrival of hungry children. The pub was full with a great buzz. The staff were also setting up for a large party in the conservatory. Despite all this activity the staff brought out our delicious food chosen off the finger buffet menu and drinks quickly and efficiently. It was a fun couple of hours, the children loved being able to let off steam playing skittles on a wet day. Thank you to Ella Chandler and all the staff for organising and the friendly kitchen staff for their care.

Went for a drink here as hadn't been since it was refurbed, we asked if they would have a table for dinner to be rudely told it is a Friday night maybe you should phone in advanced. And on that note we finished our drinks and swiftly left!

We had trouble booking a table last Saturday as the phones were out of order so used e-mail & received a reply that our table was booked at 8.15. On arrival at the pub, the kitchen appeared to be on fire as smoke was pouring out of the door...a bit unsettling! In the bar we waited to be acknowledges for some time & were then told they would try & find us a table...obviously no note of the booking. The pub was very noisy with loud drinkers looking as if they wanted a fight & we decided not to stand there any longer even though we could see empty tables. I don't know what the problem was, but we won't bother again.

I enjoyed a superb evening at the Six Bells yesterday (Friday night). A fantastic menu - pub classics with a creative twist as well as some really original dishes, our food was beautifully prepared and presented. We enjoyed the bonus of excellent live music but the absolute highlight of the evening was our outstanding waiter Matteo who was meticulous and attentive in his care of us, his hospitality was fantastic. This was a really lovely evening out, made special by all the elements I have mentioned above. Very much looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you for a superb evening meal.

Have to say we went to six bells early doors and the service from Mateo was magnificent he s a fun guy

We came in for the first time and received nothing but excellency. The roasts were ginormous and I wish we could've finished them. Luckily though we were able to take it home. The service was exquisite with the two young lads running the show in the restaurant. The service and the food together made us want to come back again.

I had my 50th birthday party at the pub for about 50-60 of us. We had a hog roast and a live singer and had part of the garden reserved. It was a fantastic night arranged very efficiently and flawlessly by Ella Chandler who was very helpful and responsive to emails every step of the way. The food was great and the atmosphere excellent. Would thoroughly recommend the pub for a party or event. We will back !

Was invited to a family Sunday Lunch. Staff very attentive and helpful although some confusion about what was available on the menu. If you want a roast and don't have young children with you then you should be OK. Unfortunately we had someone who didn't want a roast and two young children. Apparently the children's menu is not available on a Sunday but could have small portions off the adult menu. Really can't understand this as surely Sunday lunch is one of the most popular times for the whole family to eat out. Outside of the roasts which in fact were very good they had veggie risotto, fish catch of the day which was a mackerel salad.

So happy we stumbled across this pub,after a long hunt for the perfect Sunday roast I feel that we have finally found it!! Great portions lovely meat and a good selection of vegetables.

I’ve selected a 3 star rating out of respect for the many people who have posted positive reviews and clearly had a good experience at the six bells - if I took my recent visit as a stand alone event the rating would have been zero.

I recently organised a Karaoke evening for our local Rock Choirs from Farnham, Godalming and Guildford at The Six Bells in their function room. Firstly, the room was so pretty with fairy lights all around the walls and ceiling - very atmospheric !! Staff could not have been more helpful in arranging furniture, and seeing to our many needs and requests, in particular: Ella for arranging the booking requirements, Isaac and Hannah for their willingness to help with whatever we needed and their unfailing smiles and great sense of humour throughout. It was a very busy night in the pub as well as our function but never did the smiles stop from ALL staff and this makes such a difference !! There was another young chap with glasses - so, so sorry, I cannot remember his name , he always seemed to be around ensuring we had everything we needed and no request daunted him. Seriously well done young man !!!

We recently booked a wake after a funeral at The Six Bells. From beginning to end Ella catered for our every need with prompt responses via email or phone and nothing was too much trouble. We had our own area away from the bar so felt private where we could all gather comfortably. The bar staff were so efficient and the food was plentiful and so tasty. The value for money was excellent and only a small deposit was required to secure the booking. We didn't feel rushed and staff checked in regularly to ensure everything was OK. There was another large party who arrived at the same time as us so we were a little worried this would impact on our gathering but they were in a totally separate area and this did not effect the service we received at all.

Was a bit cautious of booking here after reading so many mixed reviews about the food. I booked for six of us to have Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Good portions, good quality meat and the service was attentive. Would recommend and I will be going back!

We visited this local restaurant on Saturday evening. It wasn’t all that impressive. The menu was ok but the Specials was read out to us so we couldn’t take our time as there was a lot to remember. The food was ok but there was live music going on which was quite good but it was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation even in the restaurant. I love live music but really shouldn’t be this loud while you’re eating. I would go to eat here again with live music. It would have been better if it wasn’t so loud during the earlier part of the evening.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Ella for her superb organising skills and attention to detail, and all the team at the Six Bells who worked so hard to make my 40th Birthday celebrations perfect .

Our evening did not get off to a good start when the young lady behind the bar, who was chatting to a customer who had a drink in front of him, looked over at us then turned back to carry on her conversation! If the gentleman who I think is the owner had not turned up quickly, I was about to suggest we left. We shared a starter of olives & bread, which was a huge portion. My chicken pie was ok, friends beer battered fish was again a very big piece but not so good. The batter was so thick it was still white and slimy on the inside. She pointed this out. Our desert was only warm when it should have been hot. However when the bill came we had not been charged for our deserts, just as well really but a service charge was added. We paid it under the circumstances because the desserts had been taken off the bill. We will not be returning.

Deplorable service, overpriced low quality food. Trying to inhabit a price band that they clearly don’t understand. Will not return.

Saw the good reviews of a local pub so decided to meet a friend for business lunch.

A joyful family reunion was superbly provided for in the perfect private dining room at The Six Bells. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, thoughtful, and efficient. Special shout out to Isaac and Hannah, who both went above and beyond with grace and humour, and to the young man who kindly accommodated special requests.

Came with the mrs and had two great burgers and with good service, only thing I could not cope with was the chips in a mini fryer basket as they kept falling over which was rather annoying

Invited out to the six bells by family, “went there a couple of weekend ago and the food was great”. This time around, all of us agreed, well below par... even with a 3 course for £19.95 voucher.

We celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday in the function room, which is beautifully decorated and has great access to the outdoor area. We had about 35 guests and our dog and the function room was just perfect for what we wanted. The Six Bells provided a buffet for our guest, which was lovely and well presented. The staff and pub is just great and I would totally recommend it. All the staff accommodated all our needs and made ever effort to make our day special.

Recently had our joint Christening/1st Birthday celebration at the Six Bells. Booking was extremely accommodating, even opening up early for us. We paid for a buffet which was just amazing, so much food and tasted great. We had a great time and all our friends and family said how lovely it was. Thank you to Hannah who was extremely helpful on the day and couldn’t do enough for us and to Ella, who accommodated all our wishes. Thank you, Stanley had a great time!

We came with my parents for an evening meal which was lovely in January, really nice and on all occasions the staff have been brilliant and really attentive. Drinks selection is fab but, we came for lunch which was really poor. Sloppy joe was a huge baguette rather than brioche or just white finger. Chilli was cold (like fridge cold) and the sausage was a huge German style sausage rather than a hot dog. Just strange. Kids meal of fish fingers and chips was again huge for a child and had unusual batter on - possibly turmeric which for kids is odd. My partner had chicken burger and that was fine. My sister in law and family went today on our original recommendation of the evening menu and had similar poor food, vegetarian burrito which was bland and an unreasonably large club sandwich.
