Goodbye Goose and hello Annare. Lovely fresh makeover complete with very friendly mum and son team. We were served by the son who apologised for the delay in our coffee. He told us it had been ready but was sitting behind the counter whilst he served a couple of walk-ins...not really what we wanted to hear. We enjoyed a delicious fresh home-baked lasagne and will definately be returning however they serve Illy coffee which is rather too strong for my liking so will try tea next time.

Goose is no more - Rita and her son Gianluca have completely revamped the shop,l and renamed it Annare. All hot food is cooked on the premises including some scrumptious cakes. Open seven days a week to begin with - please support this wonderful endeavor. Pay a visit - you won’t be disappointed.

A nice cafe in a lovely old shop building with good service but a shame that the food and drink is overpriced for fairly basic fare. £5.95 for avocado on toasted basic sliced bread and £2.50 for a bog standard cup tea.

The staff here are friendly and attentive. The coffee is good. The prices at the deli seem steep but people say it's really good. Worth trying!

I visited Goose with friends for the Spanish evening. We were made very welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful . The food was delicious and there was plenty of it and with the different wines to accompany each course it was very good value for money. There was a lovely atmosphere and we will definitely return.

Tom & his bother (no name sorry) do a great Sunday brunch - avocado with pomegranate seeds on locally sourced sour dough toast was really good. Liked the vibe too.

We went for a quick something to eat, ordered 4 soups and a drink. It took about half an hour to get the soup. I had butternut squash and ginger soup. Oh goodness me it was revolting. Just tasted of ginger in water. Only had it with the bread provided. Not good enough.

Went for breakfast with friends, so totalled 4 adults and 3 children. We’re the only ones there when we arrived at 9:15. I ordered an ‘English Breakfast’ this arrived eventually at 10:30, cold and missing the sausage. Others in our party reported mixed comments on temperature but tended to agree that the actual food was nice. Our friends said they weren’t normally like this so perhaps they were having an off day, but I can only comment on how they were for me, sorry.

Very friendly little place. Had a great burger in here and have a nice pizza also. Would like to try the themed nights they do. Never quite know when it is and isn't open though.

Just had a really enjoyable time Friday evening at the Goose's Bavarian evening. Lovely food - home made soup, sausage, pretzel as starters followed by schnitzel and a lovely chocolate pud. Scrumptious with a charming atmosphere and it gave us a chance to meet people from our village. Can't wait for the next one from H and his accomplished team.

This restaurant has recently changed hands - and thank god! What once used to be a rather dingy corner of what's otherwise a lovely little parade, Goose now offers delicious food, homely service and a bright (, clean) and airy dining background - all at a reasonable cost.I would thoroughly recommend the pizza, and - if it's anything to go by - anything else you'll find on the menu! Bravo, the makeover story of the year!

East Horsley is a friendly and welcoming village. Goose is a reflection of the East Horsley lifestyle - always a friendly welcome, great food and excellent coffee. It is a fantastic place to meet with up with freinds and would recommend to anyone. "H" works tirelessly and very long hours, come and try it.

I live in the village and wanted a place to meet a friend for a coffee, and thought I would try this place. It's a great size - not too small and not too big. Love the decor and relaxed vibe. We were in there for at least 2 hours but felt no pressure to leave. Staff were very friendly. The only reason it's not got 5* was because I was charged £1.50 for a mug of hot water (I don't drink tea or coffee) and my friend's hot chocolate was £3 - wish I'd have gone for that!!

Sometimes in life you do wonder whether someone is taking a Mickey or being serious and this was one of these moments. My neighbor has been raving about this place so I though I give it a go too. When I entered the shop I could not see menu anywhere (would be nice to see it on the wall for example) and decided to purchase cakes to take away. They only had muffins, lemon drizzle and mini Gugelhupf. I bought a slice of Lemon Drizzle and a mini Gugelhupf (marble) cake to take away. When I got home I was shocked to discover the cake slice was less than a 5p coin thick (photo attached) and of course disintegrated when I open the paper bag. It was the tiniest piece ever and for £2 a complete rip-off. Needless to say I will not be visiting again and will stick with other local coffee shop in the village (they have fantastic choice of cakes and offer great portions).

The old white fronted Goose is now known as just simply Goose. It's like a breath of fresh air to enjoy the wonderful display of food on offer. Cakes are particularly good and now I see pizza is being offered. Great friendly atmosphere. Really worth a visit (or many visits) as I now do.

Contrary to recent comments, the new Goose is just experiencing its soft opening and will offically open on September 9th 2016! So far so good and yes teething problems but that's what a soft opening is all about. A marked improvement in decor and so amazing what a good scrub down will do! Good luck to the new owners.

Bit chaotic! Not sure if the new owners have previous catering experience but I am sure, in time, that all will settle into place; smartly redecorated, fresh and clean. No price list displayed! Pleasant staff on site.

This café is now in its third iteration, after the original 'Pink-Footed Goose' and then the 'White-Fronted Goose'. The original 'Pink-Footed' was excellent, but the owner moved on to new projects. The replacement, though supposedly a continuation of the original under new owners, soon became a place to avoid due to the low-quality food and service.Another new owner has come along and just finished refurbishing the place, opening it under the name 'The Goose'. I hope it succeeds where the 'White-Fronted' failed, but initial impressions are not promising. There are some positives: the new owner is friendly and welcoming, and says he intends to open every day. There are more tables and chairs and space inside, though the couple of pew-style seats aren't great to sit on. Food is quite good, from the little I've tried. However, there are considerable problems. Though some of it may be put down to being newly-opened, you would think they might have sorted these kind of things out before opening, as an initial bad impression might put people off permanently who go to try out the new place. There are no opening hours on the door. There is no indication of what coffee they have, and how much it is.The drinks are too far away to see, and there is no list to choose from. There is no lunch menu. There is no ready food available for lunch. The main thing they offer is a sandwich with some of the expensive ham and cheese they stock. This took 20+ minutes to get ready. There are brunch and pizza menus on the tables. These contained typos (salmon, £250 extra) and odd headings - the menu was headed 'Goose news' - meaning what? One of the items was headed 'Goose parfait', referring to a kind of vegetarian breakfast. The waitress had major trouble calculating the bill and change, though maybe that may be put down to being 'new'.My selfish hope is that the owner sees this review and fixes these problems, because I'd really like to be able to go down and have a nice lunch or coffee at this place as I used to at the original. However, at the moment that doesn't look likely.

This is newly refurbished. It looks lovely! There are problems with flies buzzing about ....it was exceptionally hot today, but I've noted this before. Therefore I do feel that the cakes etc need to be covered and they were all open to the air. There was also yoghurt blueberry and granola servings laid out ready on the side.....but these need to be refrigerated at all times. I ordered one, and asked for a fresh one. The guy said they'd only been there about an hour! Good grief! He didn't seem to mind making me afresh one and it was lovely. The breads looked good, but no sour dough bread. The menu looks fun....few unusual bits like nettle pesto ! The service was a bit slow, but very welcoming. It's brilliant to know it's open on Sundays too. 8 to 8 on 7 days a week! I hope this new place will be a successful venture. Love East Horsley.

The service and welcome couldn't have been better! Chandra went out of his way to make us welcome and ensure we had exactly what we wanted in the way of lunch after a long journey on a cold day. The food was delicious - and we all chose differently - and the coffee outstanding. I couldn't resist buying some of their cheese from deli counter to take home and am delighted with it. We all want to return and to introduce as many people as possible to this lovely cafe and deli. Superb selection of deli items, and such a friendly atmosphere, very conducive to lingering longer!

Was travelling south and happened to pass by epsom felt like having a coffee so popped in to this cafe white fronted goose. I ordered a cappuccino and wanted to have a snack but had gluten allergy so did not really think i would get any food to my liking but made inquiry and to my surprise they made me a gluten free sandwich. I was surprised and would like to thank kris who served me then a very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Would go again and recommend any one passing by.

We arrived early in the area for a funeral and asked a resident where we could have breakfast and this was his suggestion. It is situated in a parade of shops with parking and although it looked a bit basic from the outside, the welcome was warm as soon as we stepped in. The young man in charge was exemplarary. Attentive, polite, sensitive to those who were hard of hearing and witty to boot. Expectations were not high though for the breakfast. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The coffee was excellent. The croissants and pastries perfectly cooked. Brown sourdough toast was perfectly toasted and came with excellent, locally made marmalade. Despite the sadness of our trip, this stop really cheered us all.

What a fantastic little character coffee shop/deli this is. We knew it before it recently changed hands and the new team are doing a really great job. We had a lovely time, the staff were very helpful and attentive (we were a party of 12). Two small things made the mark down from 5 stars to 4. Five items on the menu were already sold out (at 1pm) and the food came out bit by bit with one person not getting theirs until some of others had actually finished their meal. Also the 2 children's meals were nearly the last to come out - it would be good to get the kids eating first, or the adults can't concentrate on their food. Otherwise we had a lovely time and we will be visiting again.

What an absolute gem! I was staying for business and didn't arrive until late. I was welcomed by smiley and incredibly helpful staff. After a quick checking in process, I was taken to an exsquisite room beautifully appointed. I slept like a log in a big and truly comfortable bed. Breakfast was hot and tasty. I would definitely stay here again. Why stay in a large, impersonal corporate hotel, when you can stay here. Highly recommended!
