Had a mini mixed grill, overcooked chips, shrivelled dry peas, undercooked sausage, snotty egg. Staff were lovely refunded me but won't be eating there again when can't even fry an egg

Writing to make everybody aware that there is false advertising on the menu, we ordered the cheesy garlic ciabatta as a starter, we have had this many times so we were expecting a big slice of ciabatta bread, when the starter came out it ended up being two slices of a frozen garlic baguette with some cheese on top (the same garlic baguettes that you can buy for 99p from the supermarket) this cost us nearly £4! We raised the concern with the lovely Jamie who explained that head office had told them to stop serving the ciabatta due to an allergen change, however they haven’t changed the listing on the menu, even on the online menu and they also hadn’t changed the price. The staff in the restaurant were lovely, especially Jamie and compensated us for the issue by giving us a free dessert. Not the staffs fault at all but head office need to look into this and change it asap.

We were in the area again and being lunchtime decided that as we had had a pleasant experience before at the Wheatsheaf to visit again. We were not disappointed,and as it appeared to be "Curry Day" decided on that.A member of the bar staff called Eileen was there for us from the "off"and went above and beyond to assist us in our,order.Brilliant! Thank you Eileen you made our" on the spur of the moment" visit into a very pleasant one.Thank you Wheatsheaf and particularly Eileen.We will definitely return when next in the area.

Nice relaxed atmosphere and great food deals , friendly staff and clean tables etc show football games on the big screens

A last minute trip to the Wheatsheaf , I didn’t expect to get a table as the football was on . Meeting my daughter there as she had come straight from work . We were served by the lovely Sarah , pleasant smiling and very welcoming . which to me is very important . We ordered our meals on the app which was very good . And it didn’t take any longer , which I thought it might be. Our meals were brought over to us by a young girl called Jess . We had two mixed grills and a southern fried chicken baguette with chips . Freshly cooked piping hot and presented excellent on the plate . After having eaten our meal we had another drink and was served by the lovely lady called Stacey . We were asked if we wanted fruit and ice in our drinks , which is not always the case in other places. People assume it’s what you would want. My husband had his all time favourite, the candy mania , which he throughly enjoyed . So I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the wheatsheaf and the ones behind the scenes that you don’t see. You all played a part in a throughly enjoyable evening.

We booked to come here to have food and watch football in evening on 16th June. We were early and when we entered a lovely lady spoke to us and said our table was ready so we could be seated. She explained there was approximately 40 minute wait for food as they were busy We ordered all food and drinks on the Greene King app. The non gluten containing menu was only available online Drinks were served really quickly When food arrived it was hot, tasty and filling The biggest downside was that someone sat nearby with a dog and the dog had a very “windy” issue. The smell was awful and not great while trying to eat Overall we have had a really good night (except for the smell) and we have booked to come back while we are in Margate

We must admit we were not looking forward to visiting THE WHEATSHEAF in MARGATE today Saturday 15/06/24 at lunch time when we walked in to book a table for two. As we were basing it on our visit to THE HOODEN HORSE in MARGATE Saturday 20/04/ 24 in the evening. We had money to use up with the Hungry Horse on my phone as a QR code and my husband persuaded me to go to THE WHEATSHEAF. Wow! What a difference! THE HOODEN HORSE needs to retrain their unprofessional staff on the bar. Their Chef also needs to be trained to cook as the food was awful. The Staff serving the table need to speak! THE WHEATSHEAF a completely different experience. We walked in to book a table for two. The lady at the bar was paying attention, she was professional and friendly. They were busy but we were seated in 5 minutes. The food came quickly considering the long queue at the bar ordering food. When the food came it was hot and looked and tasted good. We were served at the table by Oliver who was very attentive as he came over several times to check that everything was alright. Which it was. I couldn’t eat all my Bangin’ Katsu Banquet as there was so much on my plate. My partner couldn’t eat all his Quadzilla Burger. I made sure that I had room for my dessert the Horseshoe Doughnut. Which was served by another friendly lady member of staff. THE HUNGRY HORSE MARGATE is running a pub how it should be. A friendly service which puts the Customer first. With plenty of food which is reasonably priced

I only wanted a light lunch so ordered the fish finger baguette. When it arrived it looked awful, it looked like the baguette had been cooked in the microwave, with a cut up fish finger or two in it,with a few limp old lettuce leaves. After complaining they did me another one which was no better. The baguette was hard couldn’t eat it , three fish fingers this time but the same old leaves The manager did offer me a free desert but by now I couldn’t face anything else The waitress was very nice and understanding

Was served by Eileen on the bar and had great company on this lovely Easter Sunday by Jamie. Effective service as always and needed that pint after my cold Easter swine.

Just a smashing experience this Easter Sunday. The server made sure everything was good with my breakfast and the drink was just refreshing. I will definitely be returning to this pub as the food and drinks is just so cheap. Eileen you are just one in a million and the manager Sarah is lucky to have such friendly staff.

Came out for dinner with the family, food was amazing. I was served by Stacey on the bar she made our experience amazing. Ordered Sunday lunch arrived not hot and no gravy? Strange as if i ordered a burger you put gravy in burger? The beef was so tough and full of grissle. My friend did have a burger but given wrong one, waitress replace an went for gravy i asked for mine to be taken as well as mine would be cold waiting, told wont be long but of course she was an mine was cold. Our 1st course of garlic bread was hotter than my meal. Very dissapointed as were telling friend how good the food is !!!!

Very impressed with the service. My children wanted to take me out for dinner for Mothers Day and no one had availability. I phoned here and they were able to accommodate us all. I also needed disabled access as my husband is in a wheelchair and they accommodated us exactly as we wanted. On arrival we had a really nice table and had kept the kitchen open for us. The food was amazing, and the puddings were to die for. All the staff were really friendly especially our waitress Isabelle. The food was cooked by Scott, Jordan and Luke and was delicious. Excellent value for money and a really lovely Mothers Day treat. Would definitely come back here again.
