Great friendly staff with wonderful customer service. Julie was excellent with her assistance in organise our wake, she had patience when we wasn’t sure on numbers and gave her best advice to help us make the decision needed. Huge thank you Julie you was a massive help and made a difficult day easier

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and came quickly. We used a 50 per cent off deal that was on and were very impressed with the quality of the food.

Lydia mae was wonderful. Came to celebrate my mums birthday and everyone was so kind and friendly. Food was delicious!

Large party booking last night, staff wonderful, food great, beer great, no complaints only praise. Lots of us but everything came out promptly and was good and hot, no-one went home hungry! Highly recommended.

Food wasn't great. I had the rib of beef which I can only say had been heated up in the microwave. Not pleasant.

Had a pre-Xmas lunch at the Wheatsheaf , North Waltham, yesterday - very nice. I had the garden medley with chicken. The portion was generous. I really enjoyed it but the chicken was a bit dry/over cooked. Price was fair.

The food is good. Menu has plenty of choices. Gluten-free menu option available. Service good staff friendly. Plenty of parking. Never stayed overnight, can not comment on rooms.

We decided to use The Wheatsheaf for a gathering after a funeral service because it is close to Basingstoke Crematorium, has ample parking and is located close to Junction 7 on the M3 motorway. From our initial enquiry, Julie and Alicia were friendly, professional and very helpful, especially with guidance on choosing eats and deciding on the number of heads to realistically cater for. On the day, everything was laid out and ready when we arrived and there were no problems. Our guests had positive compliments about the selection and quality of food. I cannot recommend The Wheatsheaf highly enough as a venue for functions.

We were there for a wake as it is close to the crematorium. Generous food but not to my taste.

We had a wonderful dinner with friends at The Wheatsheaf. Jude was incredibly attentive and truly one of the best waiters we’ve had during our visits. He made our experience even more enjoyable with his excellent service. Please pass on our thanks!

The manageress of this restaurant was particularly rude to me and my partner today. We came in for a roast dinner and to enquire about booking for 4 people on Christmas day. The lady in charge was asked by a colleague if we could book the last table available, but this was for 6 people, and I only wanted to book for 4. I appreciate we couldn't have the table but the manner in which the manageress told her colleague we can't have it was disgusting and considering I was stood right there she didn't make eye contact with me once. Absolutely no need for her rudeness. And the roast we had was OK at best we definitely aren't missing out for Christmas lunch.

Really nice experience all round. Our waitress, Donna, was sooo friendly and helpful. Nice food and good choice of ales and all reasonable priced.

Four friends went for dinner Friday evening, it was my choice to go there after having a drink there the week before. Unfortunately it was a big mistake food was awful. Never again.

Had a lovely lunch here with my Nan. Donna our server was so helpful and polite. She really went above and beyond. The food was very tasty too and came out in good time. We will be visiting again.

Had a couple of meals at this pub restaurants food was good with a friendly atmosphere. Andy he was a right laugh. we will definitely eat here again especially if they let me stay in there car park in my campervan!

Understaffed - regrettable as they k ew they had a ooking for a large number

We didn't stay here, thankfully, we only had a meal which was enough. There is nothing much wrong with the food when you actually get it. However, the service was appalling, and either staff didn't care or hadn't been trained enough. We went here for a bday meal and it will be the last time we are there.

Spacious room but the water in the shower was excessively hot and almost didn't allow you to wash. Good food.

We went here for dinner. This pub was right near to the Forest Holidays - Blackwood Forest resort. It also had rooms, if you wanted to stay. The food was great and the service was alright. This place was fully wheelchair accessible.

Stopped on way to our holiday home for a coffee but was so nice we grabbed a couple of drinks n bar snacks. Bar staff were extremely pleasant and chatty. Would definitely recommend. The food at the next table looked amazing.

A little tired but all food was good

Nice little pub. Very expensive however, not worth the price. We stayed over, rooms are okay, little outdated but did the job, slightly weird layout however- had two single beds for me and my husband.

Food was dry and overdone, steak was tough had to send it back. My wife ended up eating her main when we had finished. Deserts ordered and adult came first I finished mine and had to ask for my kids deserts which has been forgotten.

Randomly stopped here for dinner on the way back from Peppa Pig World. I can honestly say I have never received service like it. The main guy Andy was hyper welcoming especially to my kids and even their giant George Pig Teddy. The kids got coloring-in crayons and activities straight away, and Andy was super friendly and engaging with our whole family not just when he took our order, but every time he walked past. He then even brought out a mini-ball pit for my kids to play in while we waited for the food to come. Exceptional service, could not have been better! Thank you Andy!

We had a 2 night stay at the Wheatsheaf, and all worked out well. Check-in was smooth. We had the rooms (3) pre-booked and pre-payed through booking. The food was traditional English "pub food" which was well cooked and vey tasty. We had a selection of different dishes, e.g., steak&Ale pie, fish&chips, and shepherd's pie. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave us a good time. The rooms were clean and tidy and provided all we needed. I would recommend Wheatsheaf for a night or a couple of nights.

We have been to the wheatsheaf several times in the past year, and it never fails to satisfy, fabulous food, great varied menu, always decent portions, staff are always friendly, polite and efficient, today we were served by Jude, who was great and adhered to the above! We will happily continue to come to the wheatsheaf!

Fantastic Sunday lunch with usual roasts and many more options. Large portions. Dog friendly in large bar section. 50+ seats. The restaurant seemed fully booked online but loads of room if you just turn up in bar area. Just off M3 A303 in characterfull building.

Great pub and restaurant and brilliant service! The girl and I'm gutted I didn't get her name, but was so accommodating she asked me if I had any allergies, and I mentioned I did she brought out their allergy tablet so I could ensure I picked something that was suitable for me! Food was lovely well cooked and the gravy with beef dripping was to die for!

Funeral wake held here, great food and service, sadly though needed more than 1 person serving at bar area 2 wakes taking place, plus general customers

A lovely pub in the middle of the countryside. Food was ok, but the bar was unmanned and it took 2 people to boil a kettle to fill what i think was an urn while I was aiming to be served at the bar. The waitress though was a very polite and pleasant young lady.
