I don't know why there are bad reviews on here. I visited this place today. Very nice chilled atmosphere, quick service and the food was very nice. Will come again. You do not get many chips for the price which is quite expensive. If they improved the portion size would be great. Visited here on Sunday had a lovely Roast dinner. The food is very nice but portion size could be bigger for price.

Just went for a beer, not the cheapest but the London pride was excellent and the bar staff were friendly and very professional.

The food was awful, burnt burger buns, chicken breast covered in spicy mayonnaise even though I had asked on the side. Fish pie was like a thick soup! Chips cold and over cooked, haddock again well overcooked the batter was very dark brown. I was given a spiced rum instead of a bacardi. Was watching England game , hence atmosphere was great, but spotlight shining on TV screen spoilt the visibility, although asked at the start of the game, was not turned off until well into second half. Staff were pleasant though.

Went for Sunday lunch as a party of 5, booked 12.30. We ordered our food, 3 roasts and 2 bar meals. They were just under £20 per meal The chicken roast that 2 of us had was just rubbish, the chicken was a 1/4, the leg was SOOOOO dry I didn't even bother cutting it, and the breast was even worse When they did the courtesy check I told them and they asked if I wanted a different one- I said not if it has been cooked the same as this one. They checked with the kitchen and came back to offer me sliced chicken- great, a good solution Until the chicken came out.... it was a chicken breast that had been char grilled, and was even drier than the roast, I ended up feeding the whole thing to the dog under the table. The cauliflower cheese was overcooked it was like eating puree, the carrots and parsnips were just the wrong side of al dente, the stuffing was weird, the toasties at best were mediocre When they cleared the plates they asked if the replacement chicken was better, and when I said no, they just said "ok" They have 3 desserts on the menu, but didn't have one of them The place was pretty much empty of diners, and I can totally see why The staff were pleasant enough, the place was clean, but to be charging £19 for a roast of such poor quality means we won't go back As a group we go out once a month trying different places, and this is the first one I've felt poor enough to bother to review. Very poor quality food, and incredibly overpriced

Staff are absolutely lovely, and service is pretty good. It's clean and welcoming. The food however, leaves something to be desired. It's expensive, and not great at all! Firstly, lamb kofta, tasteless, only 3 on the plate, and smaller then your finger for nearly £7!! We paid almost £17 for pork belly (and that's expensive for pork anyway) it came on a large plate, the portion not enough to feed my 4 year old! Dry, tasteless, and barely a table spoon of "jus"! The portion of pork itself was no bigger then a fish finger and completely dry, no fat, no crackling, awful! The piece of crackling I was served was the size of a twiglet, half a roasted carrot, a square of black pudding no bigger then a tea bag and a medley of veg which was 95% peas with a sprinkle of green cabbage. All in all absolutely dismal and VERY overpriced! Really sad that this is my new local, and will definitely not pay those prices for such disappointment again.

Went to watch the UEFA final,the fish was really good,and the atmosphere was fantastic. Nice place,pleasant staff.

Prices are getting ridiculous , goes up every time I visit now. Certainly seems to be quieter than what it used to be, real shame as has great potential to be a fantastic pub but the cost of a drink is extortionate

The service and food was exceptional today when we went for a Sunday lunch. They even provided a doggy Sunday lunch. I would highly recommend the Chineham Arms for a friendly and welcoming reception, and excellent food.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch, followed by an excellent quiz. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and evening.

When you can get a pint cheaper in London you know something isn't right. Absolutely nuts the price they are charging.

So I recently had dinner here with my partner. The menu is simple, my partner had the fish and chips which tasted and smelled amazing, I on the other hand had the beef lasagne. Be warned for non-spicy lovers, it was bloody spicy and blow my mouth out which was unexpected and an unwanted surprise (it might not be spicy for normal people but I’m a puss with spice and never thought to ask if it was gonna be spicy or not) but my real complaint is not the food or the service, but the Beeping table! Omg! We sat in booth, thought it was great but realised it was not. You would have thought after smashing ours knees just to get in would make us more careful but oh no, when leaving, I smashed my knee so hard that I sank down on the booth bench like the titanic, hiding my shame and frustration as I cradle my knee while swearing heavily under my breath I left the pub limping I walked home limping And throughout the night I had pains in my leg, thigh and foot And still limping the next day I wouldn't normally care or say anything, but seeing as I’m still limping the next day, I feel like I have to, as my fear is for some else who might do more damage than I did Your booth tables are bad in the dining room and I strongly suggest fixing them to allow more room But I’m 99% sure they probably won't, so people with sensitive taste buds or weak legs here is a warning beforehand lol

Popped in for a catch-up with a mate, several Guinness, and a meal later, and all was well. Great food, great atmosphere (especially when you watch spurs and arsenal lose) and the beers were great.

Turned up as a group of 10 for a boxing day booking. Realised we has booked wrong date 🙈 staff were faultless and sorted us out with a table and food! Excellent service! Good range of menu choices at a reasonable price. Food was good quality.

We'd like to thank Hannah and Sophie for their warm welcome at Chineham Arms. Though we already had lunch, the menu looked so good we had to try something. The delicious proseccos and particularly good mulled wine were a delight. I personally find the pub’s cosy decor, both indoor and outdoor, charming and inviting, with a quirky, festive outdoor extension resembling a Bavarian drinking venue. We gave in to temptation and ordered the lamb kofte and squid - both were incredibly tasty, with the lamb kofte with potato salad and pita bread being particularly delicious. Absolutely delightful!

Just moved in to the area and this was a welcome break on our moving day. For a Thursday lunch time it was nice and busy and had a good vibe. Our son had lunch and enjoyed it enormously. Will definitely be back

We had a lovely lunch here, waitress was very welcoming and friendly, we had booked and there was a little reserved sign on the table with my name on (it’s the things) Food was delicious and came out very quickly! Definitely will be back!

Well-appointed chain pub, wholesome food but quite pricey for food and drink.

When it was first built I always used to give this pub five stars as the food and drink was excellent and the staff were always really friendly. This visit is only worth three stars as the staff were just so uninterested in serving anyone. Such a a shame really as it used to be really good.

Quick service and some good pub grub, be it a bit expensive. Serving staff who brought us our meals were very good, very pleasant. Good facilities for dogs and the blankets for sitting outdoors were a nice touch

A nice location and good looking pub. However the drinks prices are far too high. The food is awful and also overpriced. The staff don't seem to understand the concept of customer service. Such a shame as this pub has such potential.

Had a lovely experience at the chineham arms yesterday. Food was lush and our host natalie couldn't do enough for us,she went above and beyond. The atmosphere was great and the outdoor seating area is a great place to relax and unwind. Will defo be returning!

Beautiful location with plenty of car parking space. Very welcoming and airy space between tables. We had lunch, and I had a vegan dish, which was very well done. The rest of the team had mixed meat dishes and were impressed. The staff was very helpful and prompt. It was a Sunday, and the place was packed. It is also dog friendly. 🐕 Will go again because the meat eaters want to try their fish and chips 🍟 😋. It's worth the money spent. Why 4*? It was cold in the restaurant. Wish the heating was on or if they put the fireplace on ....

Lovely roaring fire, friendly staff, excellent pub food!

As a family, we use this pub to meet up. This was our first gathering since lockdowns etc. Service was patchy but there were alot of younger staff, learning the ropes. Food was OK but in general, in my opinion since covid most hospitality based venues have lost that edge of quality service. Pack them in get them out, just make the money.

I would give 5 stars, but they dont have sky sports 😕 Nice ambience, staff are lovely and the food is good. It's a Fullers pub, so not the cheapest (although the pizzas are good value). Plenty of outdoor seating, it's dog friendly and there's a log fire🔥

Lovely little local pub, couldn’t ask for better as a resident, particularly happy that they serve HSB as this was from my hometown and is a little difficult to find. Beer selection is decent, liquor selection is pretty good and the food is reliable and delicious. Happy to spend the evening here anytime. You can also take your dog and they have treats/water available.

It’s a nice local pub that serves good food and a good selection of drinks. It’s a good pub to have nearby.

Dog friendly and plenty of covered seating outdoors too. The beer selection isn't extensive but it seems to be kept fairly well (the London Pride is fairly reliable) Can be busy and loud when there's a football match on, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but not for everyone.

Quite frankly shocking to see staff being spoken to by management in such a way. Staff don't seem to be treated with any respect, there's never a reason to raise your voice to your staff especially FOH. Not to mention the "casual" attire of said manager to go along with a poor attitude. I believe his name was Andy.

1st time visiting this place yesterday evening , reasonable parking but outside on the road available if busy. But worth booking a table. First impressions clean friendly atmosphere, not kept waiting to be served was escorted to our table and drinks brought over. Our meals where very nice and not kept waiting after ordering. Beer was fresh and in this weather chilled nicely. Staff we're polite and friend . So enjoyed my visit. Prices reasonable. Definitely worth a vist for a lunch time break or evening meal or just drinks . Will visit again. Thank you

A pleasant pub with good food options and excellent staff (Jemima). We booked on a very hot day so the air conditioning was very welcome. Some of the bench seating was tired and split at the seams but still comfortable. We were visiting The Vyne so the Chinehan Arms was very convenient for us and parking was easy. Overall a good experience.

This local pub is getting better again. The staff members are good at their jobs. The manager seems keen to keep good beer, reasonable quality food and a friendly team. Jemima was particularly great.

Table booked in restaurant, door open to outside smoking area so the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming for the people in restaurant. Ordered drinks with waitress, took 20 mins had to chase. Menu very limited and had no pizzas which they told us after we ordered one. Good was mediocre at best - I added avocado to my burger and it had chilli mixed in which I don’t like so ruined burger. Onion rings were cremated. Asked for more drinks, didn’t arrive. Had to go to bar to chase them. So in 2 hours we had only managed to get 2 drinks. Desserts were wrong then we were brought another to our table telling us we had ordered it which we hadn’t. Random different ice creams on desserts. Went outside to have a drink after and order with app, another 20 mins no drinks so again had to go in and chase them. Dreadful service, no apologies, no one seemed to know what they were doing or care. A lot of money for poor quality everything.

Can't go wrong - food is always quick and good quality, it's a friendly place and there's a good choice of drinks.

The food is certainly very good, even the quality, quantity and price are very good. I really enjoyed eating here, I will definitely come back. I recommend it 100%. I only say one thing, I think the dessert menu is a bit short, I would add other desserts or more desserts, I also think they are too small. The brownie, that piece of brownie with ice cream was really too small for the price of each dessert. This should be improved.

Great pub great atmosphere and great outdoor seating areavery busy but that didn't both me as that's a good indication that its a great pub! Good served Guinness here also which is always a bonus.

The pub was lovely and cosy and nice atmosphere..The food was over priced and not that nice.. we was in London the other day in the dirty vegan restaurant and you get a vegan burger,chips and drink for £10 We had to pay about £13 for a plant base burger and chips which tasted average at best..

Nice pub interior, however drinks selection is small and high priced and the food is high priced and low quality, it's certainly not as good as the menu would make it out to be.

Food is nice, with a satisfying portion. Other people might find portion tad smaller, but I think its perfect. Ordered fish and chips and glazed bbq chicken and chips. Dish were simple, not trying to be sophisticated (served in round plates!), just simple and well cooked. The chicken breast was succulent and bbq glaze did not overpower, bacon rasher and cheese compliment the dish, so you dont add salt. Battered fish was also cooked nicely, not dry and it was juicy. Love the triple cooked chips. Will return if we happen to be nearby!
