The Wheatsheaf in Charnwood

First time I have ever visited this particular Harvester, I had come down from Cheshire to visit my son, his girlfriend , his baby daughter and girlfriend’s mum . My son knows how much I like harvester as we regularly visit at our local restaurant in Warrington. On arrival to this Harvester ,I was appalled at the cleanliness and the welcome as we entered the restaurant. I couldn’t help but notice how dirty the resaturant appeared and how many tables were not cleared away….we were sat at our table and were given time to order etc…. We were given our salad bowls and I went over to the salad bar, which was very messy and some items were not filled up. I was not overly impressed with the hygiene standards, I returned to the table and approx half an hour later our food order arrived! My order was incorrect as I had ask for it to be corrected, this was ovbiously an inconvienece, and I was made to feel as if I was being awkward…. Due to my grand daughter becoming tired, and me not being able to eat my food quickly, due to a digestion problem I suffer with , I asked if I could possibly have a box or a piece of foil to take my remainder meal back home in….where we usually go in our local town this is not a problem , but I told that there would be a charge for this privilidge?????? I agreed as I didn’t want to waste food that I had paid for in good faith! I asked for the bill, I had a voucher of 25% to use which also appeared an inconvenience. I paid and left, feeling extremely disappointed….not the usual service or standard I am most certainly used to! I felt this whole experience was not to my satisfaction. On returning to my sons, I checked out on the website to see whether a charge was stated for using a take out container….i couldn’t see anywhere that suggested there would be……… I checked my receipt that clearly stated 5 x10p for takeaway box. I only asked for one box, I received an approx 4 inch circular container with a plastic lid. Not happy and won’t be suggesting to others to visit this dirty restaurant! Please feel free to back my concerns….. xx

Fantastic service, very friendly staff and the food was cooked to as it should be. Very attentive young lady who couldn't do enough. 1st visit but we will be back.

Not too busy, friendly staff. The place was clean, and the chef was refilling the salad bar. Which I do feel on this occasion was the best part.

food is skibidi and the service is quite sigma because the people slash waitresses are rizzy because they are very demure and they cooked with this they love to Mew aswell

Food is great, place looks nice but is popular amongst families and there's usually many kids. So if you want to have nice peaceful dinner, rather find some other place. If this doesn't bother you, I can totally recommend going here!

It's a Harvester, so you know what you're getting - good quality food at a decent price, unlimited salad etc. Salad bar was spotlessly clean (not always a given!) food was quick to arrive and delicious, and service was excellent and attentive. Shout-out to Dawnio and Riley T for looking after us!

The food was spot on, you get a lot for your money. Riley T was very helpful when we asked about allergies and made sure we were well attended to

A really nice spot for a family meal. Food is good, fair value, easy access. I've been back and forth to the Wheatsheaf for years but it is as good now as it has ever been, possibly the best I've ever known it.

Lovely time at Harvester tonight. Our server was Becks - she was very attentive and friendly. Had time to give you if you had questions. You didn't feel rushed. A very positive experience. The only reason I didn't put a 5 stars for food Is I prefer my broccoli a bit softer.

Becks is always a superstar and goes above and beyond. I tried to give this feedback to her "new" assistant manager tonight and just basically told me he didn't know the staff and is moving on quickly so doesn't really care! He had been there a week and was leaving to another restaurant soon but surely you should still act like a good manager! #BecksForManager

Harvester is going down in my estimation, been for breakfast with my wife a couple of times recently, Sausages and bacon were both burnt on both meals, not good, went for lunch on another occasion had the chicken and ribs, the ribs were burnt on the underside. Informed staff they were not interested, said they would inform the chef, but nothing happened, will be giving this place a miss for a while.

Haven't been in here to eat for a while but I must say food looked lovely and tasted delicious 😋. The lady that served us was very nice .

Good value restaurant, especially when they have deals. Unfortunately they keep on being understaffed, causing some of them to be stressed / abrupt and borderline rude, especially at the bar. If you're patient and forgiving you'll have a good time. Great kids meals. Unlimited salad. The Nachos portion is a bit small. Be sure to enter your numberplate or you'll get a parking ticket!

The staff were all really friendly and accommodating, we had a booking for 7, 1 of our party didn't arrive until 7:20 but the staff allowed us to wait for them and didn't rush us to order. The food was lovely, all meals were served together as a group.

We all love it at Harvester Loughborough! The staff go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our daughter has autism and the staff are all brilliant with her. The food is excellent and good value for money. ☺️

The coffee was so weak, I had to change it,but when I went to the bar the guy called someone else to do it ! Instead of him. Then it was a negotiation to get it changed.

Popped in here for the first time on Tuesday. Upon arrival had a warm welcome. Drinks were ordered and delivered. Salad bar was well stocked and plentiful. Our only issue was when the mains came out both of us had ordered the flat breads. We have had them many times before so thought we knew what we were expecting. The dish has been completely changed from a generous piece of flat bread to a soggy small round piece of "bread". It was not what we expected. This is not the restaurants fault this is the company's fault for changing the spec of the dish. I will return when back in the area, but will just avoid the flat bread 🤣🤣🤣

Don't like to put a bad review but I think this was necessary we stayed at the link and came for food we was told we could have the booth for 2 hours wich is fair enough after an hour and half we was approached and told we had half hour left wich again was fair enough so we told riley our server we would move to the bar area and then we was told we couldn't leave the table until we had paid our bill his attitude stunk so we payed our bill then riley came back and said OK you may now leave I think there needs to be some training offered ASAP although Ellie on the bar was fantastic lovely lass

Food and service was excellent. A special mention to Riley T who went above and beyond. A real credit to Harvester. We will definitely be returning

Visited Wednesday 19th Feb, around 14:30 wasn’t particularly busy when we arrived and were met by a member of staff who started out being friendly as she explained her shift was nearly ending. I asked politely for a peaceful table if possible only to be told bluntly “it’s an eating pub, you’ll get where we put you as it’s busy and tables are booked up” However this wasn’t the case as we were eventually (2mins) ushered to a table that was out the way and reasonably peaceful and all the tables around were empty! Around 20min after arriving the “eating pub” itself was almost empty and certainly not busy. Food however was lovely as usual and the lady who took our order was friendly so no complaints there. We do frequent this eatery fairly regularly for birthdays and other celebrations so we are aware of how busy it gets and don’t need a grumpy member of staff telling me what I already know! Personally I think she was rude. Overall this review is about one member of staff and not a reflection on the food or other members of staff.

Very welcoming and attentive. Asked about allergens and took seriously, informing all staff. My partner enjoyed the lunchtime deal and I had something from the main. Unlimited soft drinks and salad always a bonus! Thank you Riley!

We went to the Harvester for my sons 8th birthday lunch meal. We were a large party of 13 people and not once did this ever seem like a difficulty. Our waiting staff Bekki and Curtis were incredible, super friendly and attention to detail / needs where fantastic. Food was delicious and came out promptly. The children (all 7 of them) also were made to feel welcomed and well catered for. Overall super impressed with services and facilities and have already booked to come back next month. Thank you xx

We had been out shopping at East Midlands Designer outlet and decided to stop here for dinner. We were able to get a table and food and service was good Will definitely use again if In the area
