Not LGBT+ friendly. Walked in for dinner, some sort of bingo event going on, had ‘lesbians’ shouted at us. Stayed for a second, and pub staff didn’t act upon it as they should have. Walked out soon after. Avoid!

Very disappointing. 4 real ale pumps and not one of them was 'on'. Unless you want a pint of overpriced Neck Oil, go somewhere else. The Station Hotel is nearby and normally has a couple of ales to offer.

We found this pub by chance. It was nice weather so we chose to sit in the garden. All COVID precautions were offered. The food was absolutely lovely. The burger was very tasty, meaty & cooked perfectly. The triple cooked chips were heavenly. My partner’s scampi were plentiful & tasty also. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A lovely place for an impromptu meal.

Richard the Manager, always makes us very welcome. The staff are always happy to help. We love going out for lunch or dinner and always end up at the Weather cock inn, Woburn Sands. The food is cooked perfectly, by the friendly chef, and we love to have a few drinks here too. The atmosphere is good and it seems to attract all ages.

This is the second time we have visited and the food has been consistently excellent. Great choice from typical pub fayre to monkfish. Starters calamari and chorizo, belly pork, ham hock and prawn cocktail were all beautifully presented and tasted superb. Mains included fish and chips, tuna, monkfish, huge unusual salad bowls if your being good! We managed to have a couple of dark chocolate brownies with ice cream to finish. The pub sits in the middle of the village and has a good outdoor seating area so plenty of space. The service was attentive and the manager makes you feel welcome. This is significantly better food than some of the better know ‘foodie’ establishments in the area so well worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Purely by chance we drove into the car park where we were warmly greeted and offered the choice of sitting inside or outside. We chose inside and we were very impressed by the decor which had clearly been recently upgraded. We chose a table in the window where we had a drink while looking at the menu which was varied along with a specials board. We had a risotto and a chicken dish which were both delicious. The staff were very friendly, efficient and professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we would highly recommend this pub.

We were really looking forward to going out , but this was really disappointing. Service really poor took ages to get the menus and to order , food arrived quickly. Was sadly really under seasoned and burgers were served with a bap bun not a brioche bun as stated on the menu. Was not offered water which is normally standard . No one checked the food was OK , hospitality standard really weak. Strange none of the staff were wearing masks but in most other restaurants staff are wearing masks. Had big hopes - so disappointing , we wanted it to be great.

I've just logged on and clicked 'write a review' only to see that I had already started one - but never posted it, thankfully. That was from 3-4 years ago.I'm happy to say that since I last visited and began writing that review, Jade and Darren have taken over and really turned this place around. The previous management 'specialised' in an 'American dining experience', but the burgers (pretty much all they did) were lacklustre and the range of drinks on offer was limited to say the least. What a difference! Now if you visit you will find a warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere and great food with a excellent selection of drinks. The pub has a lovely feel to it now, and I'm happy to see the car park is very rarely empty when we drive past (I know, we should stop more often). Long may it continue, it's really great to see people who care making a real success of it.Pop in, you won't regret it.

After purposely avoiding this pub for 2 years me and some friends decided to give it a go again after hearing it had changed hands. What a mistake. We entered and bought some pints, all the while being stared at. We decided to sit out the front for a little while but then decided to walk around the back to take a seat, as soon as we entered the garden we were greeted with a "erm, did you get those pints from this pub boys?" , i guess because we're in our mid-twenties we don't deserve any polite formalities..anyway, we uncomfortably sat down and quickly drank our beers and left. Thankfully this experience reminded us why we haven't been here in 2 years and won't be coming back anytime soon

Dropped in on Saturday for lunch. Just ordered some sandwiches and chips. When sandwiches came the bread was cut very thickly and was really dry, so much so that I couldn't eat any of it and my husband left half of his. It was a shame as the filling in both was pretty good. When the young waiter asked if everything was ok we pointed out that the bread was inedible - we didn't even get a sorry, just " I'll tell the chef". Presumably the chef didn't care as we heard no more. When we went to pay we thought they might take a bit off the bill but instead they tried to overcharge us charging £2.95 for a bowl of chips rather that the "add chips for just £1.50" price. Again no apology from the waiter - he said he wasn't responsible for the pricing policy! My advice - sort out the bread supplier and give the waiting staff some customer service training. Until then we will not be going back.

Myself and a friend visited last week after looking at the website hoping for the kind of food you see on 'Man v Food' which it shows on the site. When we approached the bar the first thing we witnessed was a customer very unhappy with the beer, something to do with it being first off the barrel or last.. not sure which; didnt think anything of it at the time but what I did notice was the young waitress in a complete fluster over it. The same waitress took our drink order and gave me my glass of wine held by the rim. I hate that as I have to drink from it. ONE choice of Red only which I felt was very unusual. The menu selection isn't too overwhelming bearing in mind we are not expecting a gastro pub style one. We sat down and a woman approached us and asked if we were ready to order and we only then realised she was staff. The staff are not dressed smartly, wear name badges (not a big issue but...) nor give attention to a uniform which seems to be jeans and a checked shirt but other than that anything goes, including long hair not tied back which I don't think is appropriate when serving food. We needed a few minutes but then both waitresses proceeded to then visit us alternatively every 2 minutes over the course of the next 10 which showed a lack of communication between staff and is annoying when you are trying to have a conversation and decide. I believe ONE waitress at your table is best.STAFF - Decide on a uniform and smarten up. Also know your product as you couldn't provide answers to some of the questions we had and that doesn't look good. Blaming it on 'a cold' and that you 'couldn't hear' us was also not a great, nor professional save. FOOD - Does not look anything like the photos on the website. Some of the photos shown is of food not part of the menu at all. Ribs were very dry and I couldn't eat (nor wanted to) all of them as they were too hard to put a knife and fork through and were too chewy to bit through so I left them. just a small dribble of sauce. Sweet potato fries were tossed all over the plate and the whole presentation was very untidy and were over cooked and dry. ADDITIONAL SAUCES in pots had skin on the top so had been sitting for a while! We decided to try the deserts as they looked awesome in the photos. Deep Fried Oreos are fantastic but lets face it... we can do these at home. Maybe make your OWN New York Vanilla Ice Cream to go with them? The Cookie & Marshmallows desert my friend had was a bit of a mess (Sorry!). TO SUM UP - I really liked the concept of this diner style idea but its not working. This is also a 'locals' PUB and we felt a bit out of place, especially when the music (which was disorganised, kept stopping and starting again and sounded like a rehearsal) which was way too loud started playing. So very disappointed and will DEFINITELY NOT visit again.

There really is something drastic missing here on every level. The place just feels a little grotty, chairs are uncomfortable and tables are old.The food isn't good either we had some ribs and they were completely tasteless and dry, heated and a bit of rank bbq sauce poured over, same goes for the chicken wings, not marinated and covered in the same horrible bbq sauce. There seems to be a complete lack of effort.Service isn't great as it's the bar people who are expected to serve you food also.Have tried this place twice now, I won't be trying a third that's for sure.

Loved the food here early last year. My fave meal was the "birds nest" which is now off the menu :( Went for a meal at xmas and was awful.... We all got a handful of chips each thrown on the plate with tasteless pulled pork, burnt ribs and funky tasting sauerkraut on my hotdog.... Tried here again in April, had the seafood bucket and the calomari were like rubber bands, didn't get all 'cod pieces' that were promised and 3/4 of the bucket was filled of chips which isn't specified on the menu, lead to believe it would all b seafood. The kids menu options r terrible too

One young lady trying to cope on her own to run bar and restaurant. Had Sunday lunch. Pork was served with huge rim of thick fat which when removed filled a bowl. Beef was ok and came with Yorkshire. Had to ask for Yorkshire with pork which said was included on menu. Crackling was chewy and inedible. Very strange gravy which was sweet and tasted of apples even with the beef. No sauces like horseradish or apple sauce offered. Ordered a drink before food was ordered and finally got it as finished meal. Really feel they should stick to American menu and leave roast lunch to those who know what they are doing. Gave two stars only because of the lovely young lady who really did her best to keep us happy. She was a gem.

We have visited this pub and enjoyed the American diner style food on a few occasions over the last 3 years and so were deeply disappointed to find that it had fallen so far from our previous experiences. The menu remains the same but the food certainly is not. Presentation of the dishes was smart and styled to fit the American theme but tonight it looked like it had been thrown at the plate in the hope that some would stick. There were only 2 sets of diners eating tonight (a Saturday) and it was easy to see why. The other couple waited 40 minutes for their pasta before reminding the waitress of their order. Their drinks were then added to our bill. Dessert, which had been highlight of previous visits, seemed to have been thrown together from items bought from a low rent version of Costco. I suspect that the management has changed since our last visit and suggest that it needs to change again.

I'm a regular at The Weathercock and sometimes I book and sometimes turn up on spec and on each occasion, I've been very pleased with the level of service. Staff are friendly & courteous & aren't fazed by my bringing in more than 5 mates. I adore the food. I eat at a lot of pubs in MK & nowhere do you get this much food for your money! I always have to ask for a doggy bag as the portion sizes are so generous. The burgers are massive, ribs are finger-lickin' good, the jumbo dogs are just that - JUMBO & the mac & cheese is better than my Mum's! I also like the fact that there are always some sort of specials on like 2-4-1's or scrummy Sunday roasts for £7.95. I & my friends eat here most weeks & my doggie will continue to be happy!

We decided to come here for mothers day 10 of us and to be fair it wasn't too bad.Service was a bit slow and haphazard at times, but the portion sizes were fabulous to a point of too much the roasts were amazing (that's not a complaint). All the food was cooked well.Decent American inspired menu as well. When it came to dessert there were a few problems. It says on the menu chocolate brownie with peanut butter ice cream but that was missing. One of us asked for rocky road, after 10 min it appeared, a sticky toffee pudding surrounded by mini marshmallows and topped with chocolate sauce....that's not rocky road in any form, others asked for ice cream and a vanilla shake, shake came and after asking one of the ice creams, the other apparently was put in the shake? No they're separate items on your menu! Now had you not had any rocky road then please say so especially when you have a pastry chef sat eating at the table (or anyone for that matter) it's not a problem we all run out of stuff but to try and fob us off with that horrible creation was why you i have given you a 3 rather than a 5.Bit more attention it'll be fab and i will be back because what i did have was pretty good.

10 of us went for my sons birthday meal send I have to say it was very, very nice. The waitresses were attentive but not overpowering. The service was on the slow side but they had a 21st birthday party in the pub so no worries and we were not in a hurry anyway. The portions were large and delicious. The lamb fell off the bone. Hot dogs were massive. Maple glazed carrots were excellent. Mash potatoes were creamy and smooth. A very good night out.

Saw a picture of some of the food on Facebook and decided to try it and so glad that we did. The portions are huge and really tasty. Get there early as this pub isn't very big.

Visited last night as a group of 6. Pub was very busy and noisy with locals drinking. Dogs allowed in the bar which may cause a few issues with people eating who are dog adverse which we are not. Was offered to move table to avoid the raucous laughter from the bar area. Service is incredibly SLOW both at the bar and ordering food. 2 young girls seem to run front of house and were not able to cope. I used to own a pub, so know the routine. One of the locals had to tell the girl behind the bar that we were waiting for a drink! Took 45 mins for the food to arrive - we had been told 30 mins as hubby decided to try the Grub Burger (worms and grasshoppers). Burgers were great although the cheese on the Black and Blue was miniscule. Chips were not pleasant. Waited 15 mins for some tomato ketchup - vinegar didn't arrive. Desserts are amazing & a struggle after the burger. Glasses not collected from tables due to lack of time. Would I visit again???? Only if I could call ahead and pre order to avoid a long wait (3 hours for 2 courses)

Having been a regular and been happy with the last three visits - I decided to book here for my birthday. It being a special birthday - I emailed the venue via Facebook to book and discuss dietary requirements.I prebooked my meal several days before hand. When I arrived - the table was reserved and the female waitress mentioned my ordered meal. There was a new waiter who was learning the ropes and we were happy for him to be serving us, with a shadow to supervise.Starters came out in good time and we're all great. The mains took quite a while to come out... At the time we were the only table being served food.Mains began coming out but mine was nowhere to be found....One steak came out had been ordered medium rare and came out rare. One Burger came out overdone, slightly burnt. The steak sandwich was not cooked to order. The chips are usually lovely but these were anaemic and some were hard. The hotdog was good and pulled pork is nice here. When I asked about mine - I was told it would be a minute.Considering it had been prebooked - I wondered why there was a delay.Ten mins later- other guests had almost finished their mains and I was served mine.I had ordered the Dr Pepper stew and it was nuked in a microwave. Oil floating on the top of a runny stew. The mash potato was completely dry. The beef was like leather and I called the waitress over to say I could not eat this poor excuse of a meal.By this point I was not impressed and was asked if I wanted something else.the only the I could have which should have been quick - was salad.I ordered but this chicken salad took a further ten minutes to come out by which time I was ready to leave. I ate the chicken out of the salad but left the rest. There was no check back on the mains. The waiter had left without informing us and there were a group of men hollering into the kitchen to be served drinks. The restaurant knew well in advanced a table of 8 was booked yet didn't staff the restaurant or bar accordingly.I wasn't given an apology nor explanation on what had happened with my main (until we were leaving - they had omitted the order from the till) Some guests ordered desserts which came out and were nice. The current 2 for 1 main offer isn't clear as when the bill arrived some things weren't taken off AND they had the cheek to charge me for the salad I didn't want.I got my guests to pay their share of the bill and let my husband take up the issues with the waitress who had absolutely no customer service skills or empathy for the rubbish experience and food I had encountered. The manager came down from upstairs to discuss the issue with my husband and was empathetic. She didn't seem surprised that we had a bad experience and suggested she knew she had bad staff. She said there were notes in diary about my meal and the table should have been set up as a birthday with decorations. This wasn't done.If the owner knows the staff are underperforming - why would she not check things were going ok? She was only upstairs so no excuse for not setting things up or checking the staff were doing ok.I received no apology from her directly. The establishment knew I was a regular and it was a special birthday meal out yet failed from the kitchen, service and management. This place can be either great or terrible. It is a gamble to go here and I wouldn't recommend any special outings here.

Well, we (Husband, Mother and I) went for Sunday Lunch yesterday (24.01.16) and despite booking a table last minute they were very accommodating; even when (more last minute) we changed from 2 diners to 3. Turns out the reason they were able to be so accommodating was that we were the only people eating there. Which was a shame, because it's lovely. We arrived at precisely 12.00 (because I am far too punctual for my own good) and immediately they started off on the right foot; because Mother is disabled (caliper and crutches) one of the staff rushed out and opened the fire doors so Mother would have less of a step to negotiate in getting in. Nice touch, well done. Now I haven't been in this particular establishment for about 10 years, when it was painted inside (and out) a garish mix of puce, pink and red. What a change! Money has been well spent on a refurbishment; quirky (if you know where to look - like the preserving jar lampshades) and tastefully done.We took our seats and perused the menu. After about 5 or 6 minutes the waiter came by for our drinks order; and we began to decide what we wanted to eat.The menu is extensive and comprehensive with something to suit all tastes, including Dr Pepper marinated steak!Having made out choice and placed the order it was a further 10 minutes before the starters arrived. Now some of you might consider this a long time, since we were the only diners but, as my Husband quite rightly said, the longer it takes for the food to arrive the less chance it is that it's microwaved. How right he was.We all shared onion rings and mozzarella sticks; thankfully because the portions are HUGE and they were very tasty and very well presented. The staff made sure everything was OK but were in no way obtrusive; once the starters were finished the plates were cleared in a timely fashion and it was a further 10 minutes before the main courses arrived. These were plentiful and tasty; even my request for "heavy on the Jalapeños" was honoured. It was clear everything was hand cooked; the chips were chunky and made from scratch; as was the burger (doubly huge) and the blue cheese macaroni that Mother and Husband had.In short; the service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. I can't speak to what the place is like in the evening; the atmosphere may be a little different - let us not forget it is also a local 'boozer' but of a Sunday Lunchtime I can heartily recommend it.

First time but wife had lunch a couple of weeks ago.My wife had lunch with a friend a couple of weeks ago,and loved it.It was my sons 15th so decided to go to the weathercock, they were understaffed which i thought was abit unsuall being 10 days before xmas.Asked for 1 portion of chips got one on all plates. Also waited over an hour for are food, and not quite the standard that my wife and her friend had experienced when they came for lunch. You obviously can not cater when you are very busy..Will not be visiting again.

25/09/2024 - Ate here due to being on a business trip. I was on my own, went to the desk to get a table. The guy on the desk was lovely and explained there wasn’t one available therefore could I go back in 10 to 15 minutes. If I’d like to get a drink at the bar and wait. I returned after 15 mins, there was a man ahead of me in the queue. He asked for a table, this time it was the Manager, a rather large guy, with a beard. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name. He proceeded to tell the man there weren’t any tables available. He asked us both to go and wait, yet again for me in the bar area. I explained I had already been asked to wait 10 to 15 mins and to come back. At this point I had waited 25 mins and explained this to him. He then became rather rude and said, “no you haven’t,” arguing with me, “and anyway there is this lady and these 4 people ahead of you before you can have a table.” Pointing at other people in the bar area. He smirked sarcastically as he said it. Then walked away!!! Extremely rude. The man ahead of me in the queue turned to me and said, “ he’s extremely rude isn’t he?”to which I replied, “ yes, you call that Customer Service?” If my meal hadn’t of been pre-paid by work, I definitely would’ve found somewhere else to eat. The Manager made me feel extremely uncomfortable especially being on my own. I had travelled by car for 4 hours was tired and hungry. The food wasn’t great I wouldn’t go there again. The Eton Mess I ordered, the fruit was still frozen - hence I couldn’t eat it. All in all my customer service experience wasn’t a pleasant one. I wish I had the Manger’s name to be more precise. Anyway you’ll know who he is. The date of my visit was 25/09/2024. Just to add the two girls who served me were very pleasant and gave great service. Both a credit to the restaurant as were very polite, friendly and attentive. A shame they had a poor role model in their Manager. I definitely wouldn’t return anytime soon!!! I await a reply.
