Kobe Steakhouse & Cocktail Lounge in Milton Keynes

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish, we were warmly greeted by our server Alex who kindly took our coats and jackets away from us. I noticed my table was a bit too close to the wall and asked if I could be moved elsewhere, without hassle Alex quickly and swiftly invited me and my partner to whatever table we found most comfortable. The table-side wine pouring and steak cutting was beyond amazing with our extremely knowledgable server Adam who ran us through the steaks we had in-front of us and kindly prompted us to ask questions whilst also letting us record. Everything including the atmosphere was perfect and the food blew us away! I definitely do recommend and Alex and Adam are a huge tribute to the team with their attentiveness, charisma and knowledge, everything was exceptional and I would happily return. Amazing job to everyone including the General Manager who was more than friendly whilst pouring our champagne for us.

Adam made our date night amazing, he went above and beyond to explain about the steaks and the differences as well checking in on us throughout the meal. Adam is brilliant and I highly recommend this place to eat and drink.

First time at Kobe this evening.. outstanding service from being offered a fantastic table due to being our first Valentine’s dinner out. Such an extensive wine list left me spoilt for choice but our waiter Adam offered us a taster of our 3 contenders. And explained each very well. This high standard of service then went on to help us make a decision on our steaks. He did not disappoint. Thank you Kobe and thank you Adam for being so attentive and helpful during our experience! We will definitely be back

Just visited Kobe for the first time today. Absolutely amazing meal. The steaks are fantastic. Just done to perfection: great cots and nice and flavoursome and juicy! The waitress Dia, was fantastic. She couldn’t do enough for us. She recommend one of the best red wines I have ever tasted. It complimented the steak perfectly. We will certainly be back.

Was a very good atmosphere and food is yummy

Don't get me wrong. I have absolutely enjoyed the food and the overall service of the staff. However, the steaks were a bit cold though when arrived (after 1 hour of wait!) as we thought they would literally cook the steaks in front of us given the portion was for 4 people sharing. The main problem was that the place has got no wifi or network internet is why I have given it a 4 star given the star status of the ambient and decor. Also, when you book online, the website warns you that in case of late cancellation within 24 hours you will be charged £20/each. This is a buzzkill when you start off. I think the policy needs to be less demanding given that a lot of people will book their dinner on the same day.

For starters I’d like to say KOBE is one of the best Steakhouses I’ve been to! The Experience was unforgettable for me and my mrs , all the staff are very polite and helpful! The portion sizes are really good and the prices are fair in comparison to the prices in London. The vibe.. the atmosphere.. the Scenery is absolutely stunning! The Kobe Team will definitely be seeing us very soon for another unforgettable experience! Since we got a food coma from last time .😂 Now for the customers that are reading this… where do I begin! For the people who has a low IQ , I’ll make it very clear that if your light is dim on your table , all you have to do is just tap the light .. or ask for help.. it’s not rocket science .. secondly id like to mention that your not at a low quality restaurant.. Kobe is a place for experience and fine dining so if you’re a stubborn person who has no experience in dining in a quality restaurant then McDonald’s is the place for you! I’d love to sit here all day and address all the bad reviews however i genuinely feel like those people who gave a bad review are on benefits and expect a red carpet when they enter a place! Ps , for those people who are so concerned about the 1 star rating , most of the inspectors are really difficult! They’ll literally deduct a star if you haven’t even got a coloured cutting boards or if something wasn’t working or if something didn’t have its own section.. that inspector was probably a Vegan that’s why Kobe got 1 star! All jokes aside , I do apologise for all these difficult customers and I hope that you guys don’t stress or upset yourselves over these ignorant reviews!! TEAM KOBE❤️

Steak tartare tasteless and prepared in near darkness as you have a dim lamp to eat on the table. Steak was chewy and as we were going to show I didn’t have time (or inclination after awful starter) to say anything as already decided not returning. But piece de resistance - went to the ladies and all the cubicles had no toilet roll - an indicator or very poor hygiene. An expensive meal and would recommend to spend money elsewhere. I did speak to a lady at the time and in response to the toilet roll - there was none in all of the ladies so I suggest you don’t discard any feedback and act on it

Went without a booking and got a table for 90 minutes which was fine as it was very busy the food was very good tempura 🍤 and olives were very good and were the steak and dessert nice staff and the restaurant has a good atmosphere highly recommend it And the security guy at the front door is very nice 😊

After a disappointing experience at Miller & Carter, where my request for a quiet corner was refused despite having a sleeping baby, I decided to walk around the corner to Kobe Steakhouse—and what a difference! The service at Kobe was like night and day compared to Miller & Carter. Our server, Tahir, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. The steak was exceptional, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavour. Kobe Steakhouse turned what could have been a frustrating afternoon into a memorable meal. If you want top-notch food and service, skip Miller & Carter and head straight to Kobe. Highly recommended! The steak was is always cooked to perfection!

Been here twice and can say they never disappoint. Wanted to make it a special day for my girlfriends birthday. Upon booking I asked if they could bring out a surprise and they went above and beyond. They even gave us a lovely corner seating area. The waiter we had gave exceptional detail to dishes and even great skill in recommending me what steak to have. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, they always deliver here.

Went for a meal here around a year ago. Staff was friendly and accommodating however they had security watching us throughout the meal. That is total disrespect and ruined our meal. We was made to feel so uncomfortable and disrespected. Yes I did send an email and no courtesy of respect to even acknowledge our issue. We didn’t want a discount nor a refund. To be honest a sorry wouldn’t even cut the disrespect. Then to not even acknowledge an email. No hope. Yes it is a delayed review. At least I acknowledge my issue. Gave a year to respond. This is a genuine review please feel free to contact me I’m sure you’ll have my email unopened and disregarded.

We visited Kobe as a party of 16 for our Christmas works do and we were all very pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, and atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was also amazing so we will certainly be returning.

Very quality steak and good service

My Fillet steak was good, although, for over £50 and doesn’t come with any form of vegetable at all, I thought that was very stingy. Also, it’s a presumptuously rude thing to add a gratuity onto the bill. Coming from someone with experience in the service industry, tips are something to strive towards, not expect! Our service was ok, nothing to write home about though, and certainly not worth £36!

He guided us through the menu and made excellent recommendations.

I wasn't impressed. The steaks were way under, the spinach had burnt garlic in it and the old fashioned was far too sweet. For the price I expected better.

The best steak house in Milton Keynes

I attended this venue with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Looking at the menu prior to visiting, we were very impressed by the advertisement and presentation of different meats and dishes. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by friendly staff and seated within seconds of arriving. Alex M was our server for the evening and was very attentive, polite, and had a very well-educated answer for every question we had. The chairs must be one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced. The restaurant in general had a very clean, tidy and professional aesthetic. The tables for 2 give more than enough space for multiple dishes and the touch-lamp lighting is perfect for creating a positive environment. For starters, we had steak tartare and Burrata. The steak tartare was brought to the table to be prepared in front of us. This alone was a great experience. Alex was respectful not to interrupt our conversations while doing this but made sure that the dish was prepared to my preferences. Both starters were very well-presented and in good portion with an outstanding taste. For mains, we had the Argentinian 500g sirloin steak cooked blue, with a side of mashed potatoes, king oyster mushrooms, and bearnaise sauce. My partner had the Wagyu beef burger with signature fries. Both dishes were outstanding. The presentation was immaculate, portions were very generous, and the attention to seasoning and taste were not forgotten. Alex explained to us that the desert menu was not available at that time, and so brought a plate of all options to the table and gave us a description of each one. This was very professional and impressive for us. Drinks included a generous glass of Rose wine, a pornstar martini, and bottled still water. My partner was extremely impressed with the lack of bitterness in the martini. The bill came to £140 with the service charge. We were both amazed at such a low price for such a great meal and experience in general. We will happily recommend this establishment to anyone and we will happily return. Side notes - the kitchen is hidden behind a party wall which reduces noise and smell pollution to the seating area. The toilets were kept very clean and organised. The music was a touch too loud upon arrival but seemed to quieten as time continued. We dressed very formally for this establishment but do not feel pressure to do this as there were customers in tracksuits. The biggest downside is that the classy, clean interior does not reflect the shopping center it is located in. 10/10 expereince.

Incredible steak but don’t bother with the sushi. Absolutely amazing quality beef, delicious and cooked so well but the sushi rice was overcooked making it mushy. To be honest why would you go to an incredible steak place and get sushi anyway 🤷‍♂️ Service was top notch, friendly, fast and polite.

My friends and I visited for a catch-up meal last night, 13/09/2024, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The host at the door was incredibly polite, took our coats, and promptly escorted us to our table. The ambience was outstanding – the elegant mix of plants, chandeliers, and perfect lighting created a truly luxurious atmosphere. I honestly don’t understand any negative comments about this place, because there are no negatives! Service was top-notch throughout. We were offered a bottle of water right away and never felt rushed to order. Our starters were delicious and arrived promptly, with plates swiftly cleared in time for the main course. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the oyster mushrooms practically melted in your mouth. Adam took care of us the entire evening, from regular check-ins to great recommendations. He was genuine, attentive, and added to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a classy dining experience. I have reduced my rating from 4 stars to 1. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated 12/09/2024: I have reduced my rating based on the email engagement with Paula from customer service. She states that the service charge is listed at the bottom of the menu and the 200ml Diet Coke measurement is also listed. My eyesight is pretty good, but the menu text is very small and the lighting is dim, so I struggled to read the menu. Also, nobody looks at the menu for 'Diet Coke', you just ask for it - and I've never been to a restaurant before that has provided just 200ml, especially for £3.95!!! I won't be visiting here again and I will recommend my friends, family and colleagues to go to Miller and Carter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review: 09/09/2024: The bad: A £9.47 (12.5%} service charge was added to the bill and not pointed out to me. We were only 2 people with 1 course each. £4 for a 200ml bottle of Diet Coke is absurd. It doesn't list 200ml on the menu, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known. The chips were very soft. The steak comes with a small portion of chips and a very small sauce. The toilets are a tired and 1 of the 2 urinals is labelled as out of order. The good: The steak (medium rare) was very nice. There were no other customers (at lunchtime on a Monday). I saw 5 members of staff! The text on the menu is small and the lighting is low, so bring reading glasses if you need them! Overall: It was a good experience, but I wouldn't go again. Instead, I'd go to Miller and Carter which is better value for money (more sauce, larger sauce and side salad) and just as good or slightly better in terms of quality. Plus they don't add on a sneaky 12.5% service charge!

Superb food, cannot fault the service. I got the English Wagyu, which was one the best steaks I've had. My family's food, along with their drinks, were also excellent. And the service was also top notch. It was a belated anniversary meal, for which they also gave complimentary drinks and truffles. The whole experience was brilliant, and we would definitely return.

I came here for mine and partners anniversary. The food was incredible, followed by exceptional service. Our water was constantly topped up, and the waiters had a lot of knowledge about the food and drinks on the menu. We also got a complimentary glass of champagne each for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning!:)

I recently had the pleasure of dining on the Kobe excellent wagyu rump, and it was an unforgettable experience. The meat was incredibly tender, with a melt-in-your-mouth quality that spoke to its superior marbling and careful preparation. Great service! Food and drinks were amazing. My partner eats steak but I don’t so I got the chicken and it was delicious! Partner really enjoyed the steak and we will definitely be visiting again! The cocktails were greats as well! Great vibe if you’re going for a date!

visited for our anniversary on Tuesday. I am not a steak eater so I had lots of questions for the waiter- he was so friendly and very knowledgeable! starters were incredible- I loved the massive prawns, and hubby liked the chicken. Warm bread and garlic butter was really nice. I had ribeye 300g- my only complaint was that it was too much- I should have chosen a smaller cut. Carrots with honey and nuts were 10/10 I don't write reviews but this one was well deserved. They surprised us with a hand written anniversary platter with chocolates and a small glass of bubbly too... oh and the cocktails were top notch as well!

Sevice is incredible. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Food is unbelievable, especially when you consider this is just a restaurant in MK Xscape. I'm lucky enough to have eaten at some of the best places around the counrty, I'm no expert but I like my food. This was my second visit here and won't be my last. We took friends, one of whom had no idea what Japanese Wagyu beef is, to say his mind was blown, is an understatement. Not everyone had the Wagyu so there was reference between a very good Argentinian steak and the Wagyu. It's amazing. Topped off with a little surprise birthday treat from the team that wasn't expected at all.

I would absolutely recommend Kobe. Fantastic drinks, delicious food and a fab atmosphere. We were celebrating my husbands birthday so he was treated to an extra little treat. Service was exceptional, too. Will definitely be visiting again.

I came for dinner with my partner on Saturday night for a celebration and it was one of the best meals I’ve had! The service from Adam was amazing! He was so helpful and happy the whole night and it made our experience amazing . The food was amazing and I’m so happy we picked this restaurant. Would most definitely come again.
