Lovely atmosphere and dog friendly, has a good menu now. Came for my birthday recently, done a boat trip, it's 5 pounds for 30 min guided tour. Then we had lunch. Was longer waiting times for food than expected, but was very busy at the time. Food was satisfactory, my friend had a sponge cake that was very dry. Staff friendly. Enjoyed sitting outside looking out to the lake

Me and the family went to the castle at Arundel which was lovely and didn't fancy the menu at the castle and noticed there was a cafe in the car park on the way to the castle so decided to go there on the way back, large menu and prices reasonable from the menu outside, was seated quickly and politely by friendly staff, kids menu was £7.90 each I believe, well very worth it they where adult portions I believe and great options ,I had an all day breakfast (2,eggs,1 bacon, hash brown, tomato, sausage, toast and mushrooms which I didn't have not my thing lol)for 9.90 ,my wife had the special pulled pork bbq with the trimings, well I can tell you the food was amazing we ate everything, we were looked after really well by all of the staff and they all had a smile on there faces whilst doing it, I believe I spoke to the owners or management when leaving praising the food and actually recommended the all day breakfast should go up in price as had breakfast in a few places locally this week and no where as good as there's and not as much produce, Well done to all those involved and will be back when we go away next year for our holidays 👍 Thank you Dale and the family

Too many notices either telling you to preferably pay cash, where to sit, reinforcing that it's not a picnic area, or that you can't use the toilets if you're not a customer - not sure that you can legally say that any more. Here's a notice for the cafe - don't throw bread in the river! It has no nutritional value for the ducks and swans and makes them fat.

After perusing the Tulips at the Casle next door , we made our way back to this gem .. not wanting to que up with the hoards at the Castles cafe . Best move we ever made , as sitting next to the river Arun .. was far nicer than queing inside the Castle . Lovely grub , coffee etc .. & the " best " Almond cake / tart i've ate since the 1960's . Aparrently an old school recipe from the boss's ( Sharon ) Mum , it was certainly the highlight of my first visit to Arundel ( love History , but the Almond delight was something else ) . Sharon , i was sorry to hear whilst at your Cafe .. that your buisness will be no more at the end of this Summer . Such a great shame about the lease etc , i am SO glad that i experienced your establishment at least once .. it was worth the 80 mile round trip alone . Good luck when it all ends , thanks to you .. & to your helpful staff .. for making our day more memorable than we'd expected .

It was a beautiful spring day, so we started with 30-minute boat trip around the broad on Gentleman Jim The captain was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the history of the Trinity broads all delivered with a sense of humour. Visited for brunch on Sunday and was left feeling disappointed. Asked for sausage, bacon and scrambled egg with toast. Was told by the unfriendly waitress they didn’t do scrambled egg. Must admit, we thought she was joking even though she was unsmiling. When the food came up both had fried eggs. I made the point again at having ordered scrambled egg so she took my food away and brought it back on a side plate (!) without an egg. When asked again where it was she said they didn’t do scrambled eggs. In fact fried egg was the only option. Was left with a sour taste in my mouth (excuse the pun) and did our best not to let it ruin the day. They weren’t overly busy and it would have taken a minute to scramble an egg. When paying, she became more friendly (possibly because of a potential tip), and explained that they used to offer eggs cooked in different ways but it got confusing (!). Not a great experience. The only tip I can offer is to make exceptions. Also, poached eggs are healthier than fried. I still couldn’t eat it though as I cannot eat runny eggs.

For me, the chips were nice, that's about the only positive thing I can say about our drop in. But I'm sure the atmosphere would have been better if the sun was out. As it was the food was tasteless (quiche) the waiting staff didn't engage in conversation and looked like they didn't want to be there and our food was "plonked" down in front of us. Nothing else to add.

Place was fairly busy but not ‘rammed’ when we arrived. Staff friendly, but didn’t inform us that there would be such a long wait for food. Waited almost an hour after ordering, which I feel is too long not to be informed. Lovely location, while we went at lunch time there were only around 8 tables with guests and we still waited close to an hour for 2 sandwiches, no apology for delay and several times when we were not finished we were asked if we were to clear the table. It was a very hot day which can’t be helped but there was no air conditioning so it was rather stuffy inside and only 2 tables had umbrellas for shade outside. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. The prawn Marie Rose sandwich in particular was lovely.

Avoid this place at all costs If I could give it 0 stars I would I'm not from around this area and had an extremely long car journey. Me and my partner were on our way to a wedding and sorry for the TMI but I was on my period and suffer with endometriosis, and needed a toilet ASAP (my partner waited outside) Unfortunately, this is the place I walked into. I walked in and asked whether there was a toilet available and was pointed in the right direction by a young girl who worked there. If at this point I was asked to purchase something to be able to use the toilet I would have. However, after leaving the toilet I was faced with abuse from old, RUDE blonde lady serving customers. She must have woken up today choosing violence, that's all I can say. If she had just explained calmly that the toilet was only for paying customers again I would have purchased something, or even explained to me in a polite manner I would have apologised but she proceeded to embarrass me in front of customers, shout at me, mutter under her breath and make extremely rude remarks. I explained to her I had come in and had asked to use the toilet and another member of staff didn't make It clear I needed to be a paying customer, but she told me that wasn't her problem and continued to be rude and shout. (There was no signs that I could see to make this clear either) working in hospitality myself I would never make any customer feel the way I felt when walking out that place and she should be extremely ashamed of herself and I am absolutely outraged. I was a young girl on my own and was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by a grown woman IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. What a nasty nasty lady, I wish in the moment I had taken a photo of her to name and shame.

Nice views, friendly staff and food was ok. On arrival the menus given to us were breakfast menus which finished at 12, we arrived at 11:55 so had to request different menus. Not all cutlery was clean and signs of food splashed on the wall. Hot food delivered on cold plate. Two dairy free members of party were assured that there were dairy free alternatives to butter and the order would come with that option. One meal came with no butter or alternative. The vegan meal was delivered to the table with real butter. (Yes Vegan with butter ??) Obviously we were then dubious about the advice given about the other foods, regarding being dairy free. Nice place but these errors made us feel less likely to return.

Beautiful setting for any time of day, the outside seating area especially is spacious with great views. We stopped for breakfast and it was unfortunately underwhelming. The food had been reheated and not cooked fresh, the reheating method was to deep fry it. Sausages were cut open and blackened, the hash brown tasted like something you might order from a Chinese takeaway, the bacon over crispy. The tea and coffee were fine, decent selection of beer also. For a setting as grand as this the breakfast at least was far from up to scratch

Absolutely disgraceful!!! The lady with blonde hair older lady waitress was lovely!
