Last minute booking as another hotel had let us down!! And I'm pleased they did otherwise we would not of had the opportunity to experience The Norfolk Arms. Lovely entrance, staff very welcoming (even at 21.30) and lovely room, 3 flights up to top of hotel but room 22 was worth the walk. Had a drink in The Snug bar and then had a good night's sleep, lovely bathroom and view across the roof tops of Arundel. Really special. Had an early start so didn't get to experience breakfast, but will definitely be back!

It looks so promising from the outside, but from the inside you are soon put right. Very unfriendly staff, bordering on rude. Poor food choice since most things on the menu were unavailable. We had the roast dinners which were ok but very overpriced for what they were. Food service also comes with a frown, so at least it's consistent. The beer we requested had just run out. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait if we wanted that one. Fair enough if they'd been busy, but they weren't.

We went there, tried to order food. Half of the menu was not available. We said ok, let's order something from the salads and wraps list. We asked what the homemade quiche had. They asked in the kitchen and said mozzarella, tomato and pepper. When it came, it had mushrooms, onions and peppers. Which means, if it is home made the chef doesn't even know what he is cooking. Or maybe it is not home made and then lied. Anyway, I would not come back. As I didn't want what they served. The food was not especial at all and bad service.

Having been here a couple of times before, I took my wife and two kids for a well-deserved Sunday lunch: three of us enjoyed the various Sunday roasts whilst my youngest had a kids fish and chips. We all had a super time, truly excellent food, enjoyed in the cosy warmth of the "snug" next to the hotel bar. Even our dog was given treats & water. The beef and nut roasts were excellent, whilst the pork belly was outstanding. All accompanied with generous helpings of vegetables, baked potatoes, Yorkshire puds, all done to perfection and even an extra pot of gravy. If you don't want a Sunday roast, there's a great selection of a-la-carte options too.Nice desserts and coffee, everybody was happy.Note that this is the bar / restaurant area of the Norfolk Arms hotel, they have several rooms, including the "Tap Bar" and all serve the same food.Overall, I cannot recommend this place more highly, kids & parents all loved it - and there were even various board games on offer.

This place is central and is really well presented inside. Great choice of beers and gins. We managed to get a lovely seat in the courtyard. Despite a great drink there, we were really disappointed with the food. There is a small selection of food on the blackboards inside. At the top of the board, it said 'fish finger sandwich, tomato sauce and skinny fries £7.50'. As we only wanted a small bite to eat, we decided to order that to go with our drinks. However when we went to order it, the bar man said that this was advertised wrong and actually comes without skinny fries. It seems very odd that this is advertised completely wrong on a board that can easily be changed? Then when it came to pay, the sandwich actually cost more than advertised without the fries at £8 which made us feel very ripped off. We expected great quality for that price, but when it came, it was simply two white slices of bread with 2-3 fish fingers in, a small pot of tomato sauce and a sachet of vinegar. I would avoid this place for food but worth popping on for a drink only - as long as the prices on the board are actually the real prices!

Having read the good reviews we called in for lunch yesterday. Nice looking place and lots of comfy sofas. Bit disappointed there seemed to be no cider - neither on tap or bottled (apparently had just run out). My husband though very much enjoyed his pint of beer. We ordered the Fish Finger sandwich, which seems to only come with ketchup and no obvious sign of tartare sauce, and the - and I quote from the menu -" Honey Glazed Gammon and English Mustard". The "Gammon " sandwich arrived and was filled with the cheap, tasteless, mass produced sliced ham. Extremely ordinary and certainly overpriced at £6.50.

As a massive fan of Real Ale and Craft Beer I'd been wanting to visit this place since it opened. Finally got the chance on Saturday night, and all I can say is it was well worth the wait. These guys really - and I mean really - know their beers, and more to the point, the beers in question are quite simply outstanding. Upon arrival we were asked what our preferred beer style was (forward hopped in our case), and 3 sample beers were given for us to try at no charge. We were then talked thru each of the beers before we decided on our tipples. We both started off off on the Tarrant Street Table beer, a very nicely forward hopped blonde at a very reasonable 3.4%, although it punches way above its weight. I then moved onto the Upton which weighed in at a hefty 6.3%, but wow, what a hop punch this one has. My partner in drinking crime went for Bristol Bier's Milk Stout and again a massively flavour from this beer. What a place. What a place! Cool and contemporary but still fitting in with the wonderful vibe of Arundel. If you like beer than this is THE place. Shame I can give it 11/10.

I was awestruck by the sheer range of ales on offer, varying greatly in terms of pricing, but all top quality. The only [minor] issue is that they don't really cater for lager drinkers and there didn't appear to be any representation from the competition so to speak. Still - a very friendly and accommodating staff.

Somewhat smaller than the photograph suggests. Probably a bit cramped when full. Four of us had breakfast which was excellent, freshly cooked where possible, finally found someone who can do a runny egg, all of us were impressed and said we would return. I had the American breakfast, jumbo sausage, fried egg, hash browns, bacon, pancakes and maple syrup, with a slice of toast and butter, excellent value at £6.50 plus two teas. I don’t mind the tea bag being left in so I can choose the strength but others might. One colleague had poached eggs on toast the other two a standard breakfast fry up which they said was good. The only problem is that are moving in a weeks time across the river to a busier area. If they continue the high standards there they should do well. Unfortunately as in their current location parking will still not be easy. The current place is very clean and nicely presented, the staff were friendly and helpful, we will definitely give the new location a try.
