Meet up with some friends for a drink on a Saturday afternoon .This pub has a good atmosphere, plenty of seating areas inside and out with views across to Shoreham. It is definitely worth a visit ,plus you are only a short walk to the beach

We had prebooked although need to as very quiet on a Monday lunchtime. Friendly staff and a good menu with tasty food. Excellent value for money. We had the two classic special so we’re unable to use our BlueLight card but at the prices in offer it really didn’t matter. We had a drink each and a main meal. We had an all day breakfast, a ham egg and chips and a macaroni cheese with a large salad. They were all very good. Little bit tired in places and could do with some new menus, easily solved. Recommended when in the area.

Came here for a meal and catch up with mates that havent seen for a while had a lovely afternoon meal was very nice i had steak and ale pie with mash went down lovely with a pint of carling will defently be coming back again .

Nice seat by the window, went down hill from there, glass was filthy, waitress already tried cleaning it before handing it over, then we asked for a clean glass, which we had to clean ourselves. I had a beef pie, it was so dry, like it had been sat under the heat lamp for an hour, the peas had seen better days too, very disappointed :o(

I have never met friendlier staff! When you visit most pubs, you can tell the staff are kind of there to just do their job and go home but the staff here always make me feel so welcome, they’re always smiling, seem actually interested in talking to me and couldn’t do more to help with anything you need! It’s fully accessible other than the back restaurant/decking area so I know that I can bring my wheelchair-bound dad here and he’s completely comfortable and at ease. The burgers are to DIE for and I’m fully taking advantage of the current 2-4-1 offer on certain drinks. Would recommend to anyone who comes to the Shoreham area, no better service in town!!!

I visited this pub for lunch with a friend and we both ordered the English Breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food was served cold, the eggs were overcooked, and both the sausages and chips were of noticeably low quality. We travel often and regularly eat in pubs, but sadly, this was one of the least satisfying meals we've had. In addition, we didn’t feel particularly welcomed — the atmosphere felt a bit unfriendly and the staff came across as somewhat rude, which added to the overall discomfort. On a positive note, the toilets were clean, but there was a serious water infiltration issue on the floor of the women's restroom, which should be addressed for hygiene and safety reasons. Also, no vegetarian options were available, which was quite surprising. I hope this feedback is helpful and taken into consideration, as the pub has potential with a few improvements.

Honestly-Weatherspoons is Michelin star ⭐ compared to the food here!! Cheap yes but tasteless and dirty!! Toilet 🚾 was also shocking 😮

Great friendly pub with helpful and friendly staff.The bar staff and very helpful and have a good knowledge of the beers they are selling. The food is good for pub food and they do well to produce the food within the small kitchen they have compared to other pubs. They do checkbacks while you eating to make sure everything is OK with your order and if there is a problem don't be scared tell them and they aim to rectify it if they can. It's a friendly pub and shows most sports with the multiple tv screens .I would of give a 5 star review but although the disabled toilet is kept clean and tidy unfortunately it doesn't have a disability lock on the door so you can't lock the door one inside so others can come in while you are in there which can be embarrassing.

Having been let down by a nearby pub we stumbled across the Waterside. Have to say it was ridiculous good value. Two gammons, eggs and chips and a bottle of wine for less than £30. Simple food but good. The downside. This was Saturday lunch and there was no escaping the Strictly Come Diving match on the TV. I'm biased, I hate TVs in pubs. I've got one of my own at home. What got me was the commentary blaring out. There was no escaping it, you could even hear it in the toilet. It's impossible to have a conversation because there was a roar every time Manchester Rovers (or Whomever) did something. What was even stranger was that few people seemed to be paying any attention at all. So we'll be back but in the summer and midweek.

Food is lovely and good service

This is our go to pub when we walk the dogs along Shoreham beach, it's dog friendly and my partner and i have been visiting ever since we met a couple of years ago.

The waterside has been a local of mine for over 30 years. It's had its ups and downs ,over the years,with numerous landlords/ landlady's, but since Hannah took over the reigns,the pub has only gone one way, and that's up. The majority of the bar staff all work in harmony with one another,and two of them stand out more than the rest. Don't get me wrong, they all work hard here, but Janet and bex go above and beyond to give you the best experience this place has to offer. Well done, girls,keep up the good work. Let's move on to the food. So I've just returned from the Canary Islands and hadn't eaten for approximately 24 hours,so I decided to pop in to the waterside and how pleased I did. Chris, the head chef, was on shift,which is always a bonus. His passion for cooking really does shine through on the food he puts together and adds his own little touches to his dishes, and they are truly tasty. Hannah, the landlady,Janet and bex,front of house who are the best best bar staff ever,and chris the chef,you are all incredible. Keep up the amazing work you all do.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. I regularly visit Shoreham and always eat and drink at the pub. Christmas Day was fabulous. Food excellent, staff beyond excellent, atmosphere wonderful. So welcoming as always. Can’t praise highly enough.

Great pub, dog and child friendly. Loads of crisps, cheap beer and friendly staff.

Couple of beers and fish & chips. Not a huge plate, but the none of the contents - fish, chips and. mushy peas - overlapped. Just looked underwhelming. Seemed like a ‘kids’ portion. Cask beer ok.

The pub is just near the beach so good to go to especially In the summer. Lots of seating inside and out. The staff are great especially Leigh-Anne who works most evening. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans, a side salad came with it. The potato was small and probably an aunt Bessie’s frozen one. It was falling to bits. The side salad was probably at least a day old and tiny..it would have fitted into the palm of my hand. It was completely limp and shrivelled and totally uninviting. The pub itself looked like it could to with a coat of paint it was awful, I am not a fussy person generally but I will never return to the riverside. The staff were very friendly and polite.

Lots of seating in different little areas, so you can have a bit of quiet or watch the TV as you please. It's clean and the food is absolutely delicious. Leigh Anne is a knowledgeable and so friendly and helpful member of the bar staff. Highly recommend this pub's setting, quality of food and service

Just popped in for a quick drink but stayed for a while after being looked after so well by Leigh Anne. She made the visit so enjoyable I will be visiting again but this time for longer and maybe have a meal. A credit to your establishent.

Fun and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it as a place to grab some delicious pub grub. The staff are very nice. One of the members of staff, leigh-Anne gave a lovely service and was very helpful. I enjoyed the two separate areas of the comfy restaurant and the pub/games/ entertainment area later in the evening. Will definitely be visiting again!

Shocking, dirty pub with very few staff and terrible management. Myself having working for greene king, this pub is totally uninviting and filthy!. I would never return or recccomend even walking through the door.

Really enjoyable visit and perfect venue when visited with family after a long haul flight from Canada. Staff friendly, helpful and considerate in the approach. Prices very reasonable. Portion sizes about right. No car park on site, but there is a council run car park nearby. Selection to chose from was great as well. Would happily return again.

Friday 13th, unlucky for some but not the customers at The Waterside as Leigh Anne was delivering her usual magic behind the bar. Despite being super busy and dealing with new customers asking varied lengthy questions Leigh Anne delivered exceptional customer service, making all customers feel very welcome and comfortable. Queues were kept to a minimum and as always Leigh Anne delivered service with a smile. Really appreciate the effort you put in to make our visits extra special.

Leigh-Anne is a queen! It was heaving down the waterside on Friday the 13th and she did anything and everything to make sure we had a great night

Went there for drinks with friends whilst I was back in the UK for a short time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good ambience and my favourite San Miguel is always good! Shout to Tom who works behind the bar, friendly and always helpful.

First of all I would like to say our hostess Janet was great has a happy face and helpfully, Janet explain ordering are meal along with the drinks so that was great.if you are round shoreham pop in ask for Janet you will not be disappointed, place bit dark in places but overall great meal nice place.

Came in for dinner on a busy Saturday evening , ordered from the app which was very easy to use and drinks were brought to the table within a few minutes. The food was delivered by the chef - Tom , fairly soon after. I was nicely presented, piping hot and really tasty. Would definitely recommend 👌

I had a fish and chips the meal was good. But service was excellent I was served by Janet and she put herself out to make us feel comfortable she was always smiling and very polite I give her 10 out of 10 she was brilliant

Came to the waterside for lunch with family we had a lovely time and the food was great. It was a pleasure to be served by janet she was very friendly always had a smile on her face and nothing was to much trouble and went to extra length to help us.

Had a lovely meal for 2 today had fish and chips and hunters chicken , very nice. We were served by a lovely very smiley waitress called Janet she was fantastic in every aspect and went above and beyond to make our visit so perfect . Thankyou Janet Will be visiting again.

Love this place for a budget lunch/dinner, pretty much cheaper than cooking at home. Although the quality is not always 4* for the price you cannot rate it lower. Only on one occasion have I complained about the food and we’ve ate there probably twenty times.

First visit. Lovely atmosphere, great location. Family and dog friendly.

Love this place, but they need to get on their higine, glass often not clean .The one I returned, they tipped the drink into another glass ( Should off replaced the drink as well ) once outside the glass, they check and replaced had a crack in it .

Seemed a very hostile environment. Person who served us was borderline rude and totally lacking in manners which was strange as it was a very empty pub when you would think they would be welcoming people in. We were going to stay for food but it was so horrible we had a quick drink and left.

We went there with our toddler son in a busy Sunday lunchtime. Once we found a table and my wife went to look for a kids' menu a member of staff walked to my son and I just to tell us that children are not allowed in that part of the pub. The other part was full, some families, mostly people with no children with them. No assistance was offered to help us swap tables with others, the guy just dropped the law of the land and walked off. As good as throwing us out just for going in with our child. Update: Seeing the response from the owner, they are just digging it deeper. (By the way, that half was not quite that busy at all. Also, you described your sports bar as if it was a fighting arena.) As for responsibility, that just shows the level of customer service: inconsiderate. If I can politely negotiate with people on public transport to make space for another parent and small child, so can you in your own establishment. So my verdict is confirmed: AVOID if you are with a child. The owner doubled down on excuses.

Lovely place. The staff is beyond friendly. Very dog friendly, my boy has lots of fuss and treats which was sweet. Lots of seating outside and a big car park (you need to pay). Will definitely be back.

Regularly visit the Waterside, very dog friendly with a great range of food and drink. The staff are always really accommodating, would definitely recommend! Just visiting again and realised they have an amazing outside sports come with a giant tv!!!

I passed by the pub yesterday during the England football game to see what it was like and thought I’d give it a shot, I’m so glad I did! 1- There was such a range of people in there, from different countries, different ages, dogs etc I even saw someone with a parrot! it was so lovely to see that everyone feels welcome in there 2- I wasn’t going to order food but decided to anyway, I ordered a burger and it was MASSIVE! It was double up for 1.50 so I did and I couldn’t finish it all but got a doggy bag for my pups at home. Soooo good! 3- The staff were the highlight. It really put a smile on my face to see young people actually enjoying their job. Despite how utterly busy it was, they managed to keep up with the huge influx of glasses and plates, people waiting to order drinks and the crazy football fans all seemed to be under control. They never make me feel rushed and nothing is ever too much effort for them. Great atmosphere and couldn’t promote the team more yet again! Will always come back even for a pint and a smile😊

A friendly local pub with a great sports atmosphere and good food and drink deals. Would definitely recommend for the football! Now has a great outside sports area to enjoy the sunshine and the footie!

If you like good service , do not go here. We arived at 12,15 on Tuesday...Not exactly the busiest time!!...Food was acceptable ...nothing exciting but standard pub grub, However the service was awful. We placed our order and had to wait over half an hour for the starter, there was then a 15 minute gap before the table was cleared and the main course served. 20 minutes after we had eaten that the table was still unserviced and we had to go to the bar to ask for it to be cleared and our desert served. It seemed that there were only two staff who served the bar, cleared and waited at table and, for all we know, cooked the food as well. We will certainly not return there

Been here on numerous occasions and the staff have always been attentive. Recently the landlady has recently lost her partner and mentioned she only had 2 days respite!! Personally I'd need more than that to mourn a partner I have loved and cherished!! But she has still managed to be the hostess with the mostess xxx

Not a bad pub which is part of Greene King. £4 a pint was good. Food stops at 19:00. Update: ale is now £4.85 a pint. There's a large TV in the garden which is cool but it faces the sun so it's pretty pointless.

Great staff and food, could use slightly bigger portions for some stuff like fish and chips but great otherwise and a great deal on the classic meals, 2 for £12.50 if I remember correctly

So I have been in the water side a few time over a couple of years, service is good, the food is as expected. But I do wish they would employ a dedicated glass collector and washer! Its the one thing that you notice every time you go in to the pub, you see what appears to be the whole days worth of glasses on the bar waiting patiently to be put into the glass washer! Just wish I had taken a photo! The others gripe is why does the good ordering app stop working at 8pm if you book a table for 7.45 pm?

Excellent service and food was very good with ample on the large plate, drinks were all fizzy from top of glass untill we had finished them, (a rarity now days)👍

Excellent place for a weekday lunch. Not overly busy but had a good character/ambiance. Staff have been very friendly, helpful & polite every time we've been.

Will visit again. Bit of a wait for service but it was early May and they appeared to be short on front of house staff. Staff were both friendly and helpful. Found it was quicker to order food and drinks through the app, which worked well as we had 2 wriggly toddlers with us. Booth table was great for keeping the kids contained. Food, a mix of burgers, gammon and kids meals, was served 20mins after ordering and everyone enjoyed their meals. Kids portions were perfect size for us. Order was correct and food was tasty. Only complaint is probably due to lack of front of house staff - tables and chairs were all clean but walls were not!

A pub for all tastes. Football and sports fans on one side and those wishing to escape that, quieter areas to talk or take in the views of shorreham and the adur River. Lots of outside seating also. Food is reasonable, staff are fantastic,helpful, friendly and polite.
