The Watershed in Brighton and Hove

We went to visit today and was there 10 minutes before so the staff saw us waiting and told us they would come and let us in at 12. Still nobody came out at 12:08 so we went inside and it was just the staff playing heavy metal music and standing around chatting. So we left. We also noticed around 15 people came and left in the mean time so a lot of lost customers.

A beautiful place to eat, welcoming and the boat house hostesses were so lovely and attentive and perfect for the occasion. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Hawksmore and cocktails on point to 🍹🍸🍺🍻

My husband and I came here for a day date. We've tried a few places before and this has been the best!! Fayth and Suzy have been amazingggggg!!!

We went in on a Sunday for a roast and it was incredible! Very generous portions and the food was amazing! Lovely place and everyone at the table left happy.

The fish and chips was superb. Large fish portion, in a beautifully crisp and light batter, the best we've had. And great views over a sunny marina.

Really friendly staff, service was quick, great and with a smile. Food was tasty, good size portions.

Have recently moved to the marina and have finally found a haven. Was getting very despondent with the local pubs and restaurants. We are now two very happy chappies. Staff are great especially Faith. Very worldly, lots to talk about. An absolute pleasure and very good at her job. Love it

Came for lunch after the Brighton 10k . Had the Prok Roast and it was delicious . Really generous portion of meat , lovely gravy and veg.

Sunday lunch was excellent freshly prepped and cooked to perfection. Large portion's well presented and very tasty, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Allergy alert the roast potatoes and gravy are made with garlic.

Went for Sunday lunch - fairly small menu but very tasty meals and generous portions. Really friendly staff, great service and nice atmosphere where non members like us didn't feel at all out of place. Also dog friendly which was great for us. Recommended!

Absolutely lovely Sunday lunch, great quality with all your favourite veg accompaniments (including the biggest cauliflower cheese as an extra). Staff really friendly and attentive - a good buzzy vibe. Highly recommend.

First visit for a Sunday Roast. We had to pre-book because we knew it would be busy due to the beautiful weather and also a family of 5. I must say the roast was absolutely delicious, it was worth the wait..portion size was good too. Lovely atmosphere and a delicious lunch is always a 👍.

Right down at the water's edge, this is a great place if you like boats. Covid procedures are in place and you will be shown to a table - plenty of seating both inside and out. We came only for a drink and tried the Trebbiano (£20 a bottle) but might have been better off with the Picpoul at £26. The Harvey's best bitter was perfectly good at £5 I think. We didn't eat but looked at the menu which is reassuringly simple with fish and chips, burger, chicken supreme etc. all around £13-15; there is also a vegan and vegetarian option. Service was friendly and efficient and this is certainly a place to visit on a nice day: not too well signposted so just walk down the ramp towards the boats just past Prezzo...

The Watershed has a new Chef (Lewis) and omg the roast dinner was amazing. I chose the beef and my husband had the belly pork, big side of cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets and extra jug of gravy. It all tasted delicious and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend visiting as it’s a hidden gem. The service was great too. Thank you guys x

Excellent fresh and tasty dishes. Lovely friendly staff and very pretty deck with tables and parasols. Give it a go instead of the chain restaurants, you will glad you did!

A bit biased as I live at the Marina so it's easy to go to, but it's open for all and the food is great. Pies. Good ones. Gravy. Lots of. Seek it out as it's so much better than the rest of the restaurants and bars at the Marina!

Popped in for an impromptu snack and found that it was curry night - one of the best curries I've had in ages!

I went here for the roast dinner, it was really lovely and the venue was stunning! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality fresh food and service with a smile!

Over recent years (before Boris locked us up) had many meals - all good. So was disappointed to be told at 2023 on a Friday evening that last orders for food had happened. Found somewhere else to eat on the Marina. Maybe I shouldn’t inconvenience the Galley in future

Probably the best bar on the marina. If you want to sit and chill by the water with some great beer from the Laines brewery, this is it.

Amazing restaurant with fantastic views, a great atmosphere and superb food. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they love our dog Daisy 🐶 It’s really lovely to be able to eat at a top quality restaurant that is super dog friendly. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here and I visit regularly. I highly recommend The Watershed if you’re ever down at the Marina.

Enjoyed lunch with friends in this convivial restaurant. Easy atmosphere and good, hearty, freshly cooked food. We were well looked after by Bobby and Alex. Pleasant change from the 'chain' restaurants and delightful views. Well worth walking past them to get to Watershed!

Amazing view of the marina and food was brilliant.

Called up pretty last minute on the first night of our stay in Brighton and were pleasantly surprised to be able to get a table on the outside decking, which overlooks the water. We were served by Anders and Jodi, who were friendly and attentive. We waited a while for the food, but it didn't matter because we were enjoying the view and atmosphere and, when it did arrive, it was absolutely fantastic. The handmade fish fingers, beer battered fish and chips, and braised beef cheek were delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. It was a really lucky find, and we were so pleased we opted for The Watershed over one of the plethora of chain restaurants along the Marina.

I am so disappointed with today’s visit. We went for lunch and pre booked. When speaking to then lady on the phone we requested outside seating but unfortunately they were fully booked but we were happy they could seat us inside. When we arrived today we noticed it was nearly empty outside so, we asked if we could sit outside which again we were told no. 10 minutes after sitting down a party of 6 arrived and had no booking and just walked in. The gentleman asked if they had a booking and they said no yet the manager came over and said it was fine they could sit outside as they had some spare tables. We were so shocked. Our orders were taken and we had to wait nearly an hour for a starting sharing board with flatbread. It wasn’t even busy so again I’m unsure what happened there. We heard the table behind us complain about there food as it was missing the smoked salmon and dips yet they were not informed or offered a replacement. When we finally got our food, we had the same problem. The chef did seem a little under pressure which I can completely sympathise however, we heard him say to the waiter that there was a huge back log. Not once did the rude manager come and ask if we were ok or inform us of the missing pieces to our sharing board. I can only presume she was as she was the manager as she was giving orders to the stuff and being rude to other customers again not a nice atmosphere. The chef did personally bring us some fries over to make up for the missing fish which was good but, it would have just been nice to be informed in the first place of the wait time and missing food. I’ve never actually moaned or left a review before for anywhere but I feel like this was not a nice restaurant to visit based on the poor service.

The Watershed is perfect for those wanting something a little more refined, yet relaxed, from the hustle and bustle of Brighton seafront. Me and my friend took the walk east from Brighton Pier and came across this gem tucked away in the Marina. There is a beautiful deck to sit out on and enjoy the calm water - we saw fish swim past whilst sipping on a Bloody Mary! I am vegan and was so pleased to see plenty on the menu (as well as meat dishes). I opted for the vegan roast - which was 5*. Great location, lovely ambiance and excellent service.
