The Post & Telegraph in Brighton and Hove

Situado en el centro de la ciudad, el Post & Telegraph es un pub bastante concurrido. Lo visité un sábado durante el día y tenían personal de seguridad en la puerta principal, ¿así que puede haber problemas con el comportamiento? Tomé una copa y me sirvieron bastante rápido y pude encontrar un asiento con bastante facilidad. Lo bueno de los pubs Wetherspoons es que ofrecen wifi gratis, que siempre es útil cuando estás fuera y alrededor. El pub estaba bastante limpio y estaba muy ocupado con lugareños y turistas.

Comida y bebida son baratos y buenos, pero es una cuchara muy ocupada y difícil de conseguir una mesa a veces. El inodoro necesita un poco de limpieza como un montón de botellas y basura en el suelo de los hombres, pero en general casi tan bueno como cualquier cuchara meteorológica

Great grub nice pub but toilets were a bit filthy today full of chavvy looking people and families, which is off putting

We had Chicken Tikka Masala and loved it.

It's a 'Spoons, does what they all do exactly as expected.

Typical English pub where you can drink beer and have a good traditional plate of fish and chips. The quality of the fish and potatoes was very good for fried fish, really very delicious and I would definitely recommend it. The service was good and fast, since you can ask for service from their app to your table without going through the bar. The environment was very healthy and full of people. We came on a Saturday and we had a great time. It has two floors so there is plenty of space. As for the price, it is quite affordable and you have many options on the menu from burgers, pizzas, wraps and curries, etc. A place you must visit.

Quick service, toilets not a three mile walk away and an enjoyable experience.

Unlike other Wetherspoons I've visited, the service here was dire. A very long wait for our drinks, and when they did arrive, no straw for the cocktail, ( requested as an optional extra ) and no glass for the ale. Not fussed about the straw , but I wanted a glass for my pint of ale. Another very long wait saw a glass arrive at our table , however, it was the size of a child's. Most probably a ' nip ' sized glass. We finished our drinks and left .

Big Witherspoon's very busy pub didn't have food just had a few beers with the wife .

The only normal knee joint in Brighton. There is no reason to go anywhere else. Thanks

Lovely, friendly bloke behind the bar and cheap as you like. The beer, not the bloke. Whoever does the hiring and firing in here would do well to be in charge of the whole company, to be fair. Great effort.

Went for all day brunch, easy to order via the app and service was fast. Decent size portion and friendly pub atmosphere.

A great spoons with plenty of seating and the normal variety menu with something for everyone. It's easy to order on the app. Our drinks and desserts came quickly and were well prepared.

El lugar no estaba demasiado ocupado, así que conseguí una mesa fácilmente. Para variar las mesas se limpiaban y limpiaban regularmente, antes no hemos podido conseguir mesa debido a que no se han eliminado. Pedí 2 copas de vino, que suele ser de aproximadamente £ 5. 90 , jovencita explicó que no estaba puesta la oferta sino una oferta de enero de 2 vasos por 4 libras . 95 grandes en lo que era un bono. Tenía el tazón de pollo coreano con arroz y estaba delicioso y muy muy lleno, una patada encantadora que me gusta. Mi otra mitad tenía la hamburguesa básica con papas fritas que le sienta bien ya que tiene un pequeño apetito y no le gustan los pepinillos ni las salsas. Incluso luchó para terminar eso. La comida estaba caliente con una sonrisa de servir. no sé si es personal diferente o qué, pero fue una experiencia mucho más agradable

Muy ocupado, cucharas estándar. Solo para bebidas y un aperitivo, pero se sirvió rápidamente para ambos. Ocupado pero ambiente bien. De nuevo, inodoros limpios, raros para cucharas.

A typical W pub full of character and architectural interest in a historic building. Very crowded when we went on a Monday lunchtime in January but still the orders were brought promptly and tables available upstairs.

Enjoyable drinks with some chips and wings - thanks to the manager and staff for putting the football on when we asked - appreciated a lot.

Actually, with a dive smelly pub like this with power hungry managers and over bearing employees who thinks they are the best because they work in Wetherspoons does not deserve my say. 👍👍👌

Was not impressed with this place, tables dirty not cleared. Tables to close together, could not hear the person I was with for ,other people to close all seem to be shouting to each other , as they were trying to talk and hear the people they were with. Answer to this is move the tables away from each other more not in rows like school dinners. OK for drinks but not for eating a meal. Separate area should be for eating an Separate area for just those drinking. Or food only times . Would not bother to go back and eat here again unless it changes. Very disappointed .

I recently visited the Post and Telegraph Pub and, unfortunately, my experience was marred by a disappointing encounter with a staff member. Upon unwrapping my cutlery, I was shocked to find that the knife was absolutely filthy. Instead of simply replacing it, the staff member accused me of dipping it in my rice, which was both unprofessional and frustrating. What made matters worse was that the staff member was standing right there when I unwrapped the cutlery, so it was clear that I hadn’t done anything to it. This incident raised serious concerns about the pub's hygiene standards. It’s alarming to think that they might be providing dirty cutlery to new customers. Overall, this experience has left me hesitant to return, as I can’t overlook the lack of cleanliness and the poor customer service. I hope the management takes this matter seriously to ensure a better experience for future patrons.

Very good place, drinks were nice, staff were nice. Had a pop in for a night out and we loved it.

This place is big and packed, if you are there on a Friday or Saturday get there early if you want a seat. Staff are friendly and food comes out quick

I was so calm having breakfast and having coffee with a closed beer on the table somewhere else, at no point did I open that beer and a short girl came who I don't know her name but I will soon find out and with very bad manners she took my things without permission and he has not said that you cannot drink alcohol from another place so obviously it is stupid to treat a customer like that who is also leaving them tips I went to ask for the complaint form and everyone refused to give them to me she She spoke to me and I told her to leave me alone that I don't want to talk to her because she is very unfriendly and that the only thing I needed was a complaint form to complain about her behavior towards me. Then 3 members of staff, supposedly the managers, came telling me that I have I had to leave for being unfriendly to her when I simply told her to respect the fact that I didn't want to start a conversation with her and she insisted 3 times and I kept telling her to leave me alone, disrespecting me once. and again I don't have to go anywhere just because a woman is having a bad day and wants to take it out on her clients. They threatened me by telling me that they would call security and I told them that they would call security or the police if they want since they don't have any. The reason for treating me like that I had to leave because I had to go to work, otherwise they won't move me from there even with a crane. I think it's a shame that they treat their clients like that. It's a great lack of respect and very miserable to do something like that. They deserve a good karma breakfast and I will do my best to make sure they get it.

It's weather spoons, you know what you're getting but it's cheap and a proper boozer

Right in the middle of town and just a short stroll from the beach. Staff seem to get overwhelmed at times and service can be a touch slow. Trying to find a seat is a struggle as the place is always packed.

I find myself back here. It's great to see Harriet back behind the bar as a manager or I hope is further the chain. She has and still does work with her team, not vanishing like most venue managers. Grafting like any good manager should. Staff here are good and I wouldn't expect anything less when they have good managers on shift to work with them and do on the fly training or deal with awkward customers. Which we do when we do reviews. I can't say every day will be the same. I've never had food at this venue. But with the number of orders I would say it's okay. Did not witness any complaints. Atmosphere is loud as this venue was and old NatWest bank so acoustic are loud. Service is standard, but staff are quick to acknowledge you, even if it's a quick nod. I don't mind waiting it helps with the reviews. Sad to see staff having to wear BWC, I hope they know the laws and inform you before they turn on.

Not a bad place average at best

Ordering a drink came harder than expected because the in-house WiFi was playing up. Annoying but is gonna happen from time to time. So the app to order the drinks barely was working but I eventually got there. Then I was asked if I had ID before receiving the drink however I had forgotten mine so I was politely told they’re unable to serve me which again annoying but totally reasonable and fair. I was asked if I’d like to swap it for a soft drink or a refund I just asked for a refund. Then the gentleman came back and said they’re not going to give me my refund due to the terms and conditions I should have read on the app that didn’t load. I found this outrageous and completely unhinged. I used to come here a lot I’ve spent at least £50 a week in this bar. But now I will never enter a Wetherspoons again. I really believe you can find MUCH MUCH nicer pubs in the area.

Lovely Wetherspoon pub. Lost 1 star due to being difficult to find a table as it's usually busy plus it costs a bit more than Wetherspoon pub in neighbouring towns.

Great meeting place for a cheap and cheerful meal and a couple of drinks. Service was excellent. The pub is very busy, but for good reason, and everything you expect from a good Spoonies. And as always, a great selection of beer.

Visited on a Monday trip to Brighton. The drink specials on offer were at fantastic prices compared to London. My guests appreciated a couple of good drinks after some shopping and sight seeing. Certainly very competitively priced compared with a few of the other pubs we visited. Worth a couple as very central and plenty of options.

The better of the two Spoons pubs in Brighton town centre

We picked a very bad day to visit as the pub was full of Mancs & Brighton supporters for the 1730 match at the Amex. Couldn't find a seat as people were just squatting for the day. Very loud & noisy. Won £13.00 on the fruit machine. Would not come back here. Drinks were under £7.00 for a beer & wine which is great for a city centre. Someone left a jacket on a seat & in the 20 minutes we were there no one appeared. Bit like leaving your towel on a sun lounger by the pool.

Always know what you're getting here. Always average.

The food was absolutely awful, wasn't cooked properly, had to keep asking for items that should of been with the meal and the cutlery was dirty! Will not recommend it to anyone, worse meal from Wetherspoons

Pasamos por el Post & Telegraph alrededor de la hora del almuerzo solo para tomar un café y vimos a un par de comensales comiendo filetes. Confirmaron que eran excelentes, así que decidimos que volveríamos por la noche para comer allí, lo que hicimos ya que era Steak Club (martes) por la noche. Sí, los filetes eran muy buenos, lo mejor que hemos comido en mucho tiempo y sin duda volvería aquí un martes! Aunque el pub se pone bastante ocupado, encontramos fácilmente una mesa y me sirvieron rápidamente en el bar.

I don't expect much from Wetherspoons, but this place was pretty bad. We initially sat at a downstairs table, but we were harassed by homeless people who were going from table to table asking people for money, and eyeing up our bags and phones. It made us very uncomfortable, so we moved to a table upstairs. The place wasn't at all clean, so we had to clean the table with some hand sanitiser wipes. When we were given cutlery, it was visibly dirty, and the spoon had bits of food still stuck to it; it clearly had not been cleaned at all. The food was actually very good, but I was brought the wrong food at first, and when I told the staff member it wasn't right, he refused to believe me until I showed him the receipt on my phone (not in a rude way, he just didn't believe me). He was very apologetic at that point, and went and got me the correct food. It wasn't a big drama or anything, but I've never had that reaction to pointing out a simple error before. I also used the ladies toilets, and there was no toilet paper, and no soap. I can only assume there is a problem with staff training, and management at this pub. I hope things improve, but I won't be back to find out.

Typical English experience. Very nice pub with good beers for a good price. Food is a little less. Quality is just fine, but don't expect too much. Nice to visit when you are in the area! Service is also good. Fast service and good help with questions. Nothing to complain about.

What you see is what you get... Just had 11" pepperoni pizza and a San Miguel

Only had a coffee but the cups handed to us were dirty. When the woman changed the cups to some better ones they still weren't really clean enough!

Worst food i ever ate in my life. The eggs tasted like plastic. My expectations weren't high but this weatherspoon outdone themselves in providing the worst ever plate of food I've been served in my life. Stay away at all costs.

Always have a good time there. Unfortunately now,it's being knocked down and no more Darts there . There is a new building for the Bowls.
