Such a lovely little pub with a great bouncy castle for the kids to work off some energy on. Food was so good! Great portion sizes. Only comment would be the salad needed more dressing. Staff were lovely and we were served quickly. Just sad the kids grew tired before we could make it to dessert!

Booked over the phone as I had found a lot of places booked out due to limited tables . We got there at 6 and our table was ready for us . Rather a basic set up , but then this is primarily a pub . We chose seafood linguini and fish and chips together with a cider and wine . The food was lovely and tasty , the cider good and the wine great value at just £5.60 for a 250ml glass. The place was quite lively and is dog friendly going off the number of pooches in there . We were pretty full after our mains and didn’t go for a sweet . Overall a good meal on a soggy evening.

Recently visited The Watermill with friends for Sunday lunch and everything was superb. Along with normal Sunday lunch fayre you could also order from the main menu or specials board so everyone even the fussy ones (like me) can be catered for. I washed my beef dinner down with a couple of pints of the locally produced lager that begins with a K and ends with a V, very nice indeed. Prices were very reasonable for the standard of food. The main building has been laid out very COVID friendly but for those that are still unwary about being inside can eat outside but as with most venues at the moment you have to book in advance.Next time we are down this way we will visit again in the week and sample some of their other wares.

We always book here when on holiday in Hayle and this year when I booked I asked for a ploughmans which wasn't on the menu but I'm veggie and didn't fancy any of the dishes offered. I even had a call the day we were going to check it was just one for me and they were very accommodating in making me one, which by the way was delicious. We all had a great meal as always and a fun night. We also always get a taxi as we stay just up the road at John Fowlers and we know parking is limited here, plus it means we can all have a drink or two. We will be back again, mark my words.

After just over 15 mins waiting to order drinks I hailed a staff member who then took the order. An extremely pleasant young waitress then took our food order. Food was reasonably good but on the steak pie I do hate those frozen ( I would suggest) puff pastry pie tops. The remaining order was good. Up in the corner we were that hot it was getting unbearable so we duly left without having a sweet. Sorry. Beer was good and reasonably priced. Otherwise nice rustic quaint venue

We decided to take our, pre-booked, trip down to Cornwall a day after corona virus ‘lockdown’ ended. We hoped that Cornwall was open and ready to receive visitors. There was no need to worry as we found this fantastic pub/restaurant on our first afternoon and sitting in the pub garden with my first pub pint for four months. We were so impressed with their techniques and set-up to avoid personal contact we booked a table for a meal that evening. The evening was no different with plenty of space between tables. The menu was a limited menu. Limited but with plenty of choice for most tastes. Service in the restaurant and bar was fantastic, friendly, professional and swift. We loved it so much that, the next day we booked for the evening. Interesting watermill outside with the inner workings displayed in the bar area. A pub and restaurant that is well worth a visit.

Used to live in the area and travelled down from South Wales for a birthday meal which was a treat booked by my husband.Meal was in the restaurant. The food was good but spoilt by dreadful service. Met at the top of the stairs and handed menus and server pointed to our table in the corner. Given a few minutes to peruse the menu. Server came over and took our order. We chose a starter and main course. We were served the starters and dishes cleared. The main course duly came out and was served. We had to call the server back and asked for cutlery as there was only one knife and fork at each setting which we had used for the starter. Very little interest was shown in what they were doing. It seemed they wanted to do as little as possible. We asked for a jug of water and this was placed on the table with two glasses but no water was poured for us or not offered to be done. Coffee was asked for and two cups of coffee were placed on the table. We noticed that the handles of the cups were pointing away from us and into the centre of the table. So little interest in looking after the customer. We also noticed that on the table next to us extra drinks were ordered and duly brought to the table. The server placed the fresh drinks on the table but left many empty glasses on the table which looked very cluttered. The restaurant was nearly empty which, for a Saturday night, was surprising. It used to be busy with people eating both upstairs in the restaurant and also downstairs in the bar. There were only seven people in the bar.Why is this pub so deserted on a Saturday night?

We phoned to see if they had availability for that evening for the 4 of us, and did they happen to have a fish pie on the menu as my mum really fancied that. There was space, and yes they had a fish pie so they reserved one for us so they didn’t sell out (nice gesture) The car park is a little on the small side, but we got a space & managed to get my 80yr old father down the couple of steps into the pub. Table was reserved for us, we ordered 2 fish pies, 1 portion of mussels and I had pork loin with an apple sauce. I swapped mash for new potatoes & my meal was really tasty. We haven’t eaten at the Watermill for a while and we’re really looking forward to it. However, the food was not as good as we remembered. Our sons meal was fine (chicken chunks, chips & peas) however my husbands seafood linguine was very poor. We would have expected the seafood to be local and fresh however my husband felt the seafood was frozen and it was absolutely tiny. This was very disappointing being in an area with so much fresh fish on the doorstep. My meal (bean chilli and rice) was fine but nothing special and nothing that would make me rush back. My husband did complain about the linguine and it was removed from the bill. On a positive note the menu is very extensive with something for everyone and a separate menu for vegetarians. On this occasion we didn’t feel we had good service as no one checked on the meals and even though my husband left his meal virtually untouched no one collected the plates or asked him about his meal. Parking is very limited.

The suggested parking is actually at Lelant Saltings station, on an unlit gravel open space at the back of the estate over the road, and a good ten minute walk away. Visited The Watermill mid week and had a lovely meal in the upstairs dining room. Very friendly staff and great service. Nice menu with a specials menu. If your looking for good old fashioned pub grub you won’t go far wrong. Excellent steak and ale pie and reasonable too.

Arrived at the restaurant, parking was tight but did see there was other parking not too far away. We hadn’t booked a table but was shown to a table upstairs in the restaurant, it was busy both downstairs and upstairs, lovely restaurant, good choices on menu and special board. Local produce and fish used which is great! Our starters arrived and was plenty and tasty! Our main meals came shortly after and we were both really pleased with quantity and presentation, tasty- we would definitely return again! Reasonable prices! Lovely beer gardens with ample space for outdoor eating.

We came here twice when we visited Carbis Bay, food was excellent, all home cooked. Only one little niggle .... we requested the the table we had on the first night as it was in the corner and with our dog it was perfect. She just lay in the corner out of the way. On our second visit we asked for the same table , we were told yes but keep the dog on the left side of the table and the right side takes you into the part where dogs are now allowed (no mention of this 2 nights previous) we agreed and sat down. Only 5 minutes later a family appeared with a Dalmatian and sat right in the no dogs area !!!! If I was to keep my dog on one side of the table how come this other family got to sit at a tab that’s actually in the no dogs area !!! Apart from that lovely food.

Only managed a lunch here during our 3-day stay but would definitely have gone back if we'd had more time. A great welcome from the girl behind the bar, very good food and a unique watermill-themed vibe* made this a definite on the 'must go back on next visit to St. Ives' list.

Wonderful food and helpful friendly staff. We have a fourteen month old grandson and we were given a table with plenty of space and room for a toddler. We recommend you book early as it is very popular with good reason. A lovely garden with a stream and a larger garden area over a pretty bridge.

We came here for dinner last saturday night while on holiday. We got a table outside as it was the only one they had left which we were happy with even though there was some kind of event going on outside. I asked for coke and was given Pepsi which I find annoying as it's not the same drink. Food was good I really enjoyed my Thai green vegetable curry! Partner and baby also enjoyed there food. We knew there was a party going on and that didn't bother us but what did was the people in this party leaving empty glasses on the table we were having dinner on and a couple sitting down and eating there food on our table!! They'd already sat down before they said "you don't mind do you?"! There were loads of tables on the side where there marquee was so why they thought it was OK to sit on our table I have no idea? No one checked on us to see if we or our food was OK, not even when we got the bill but overall the food was good.

Ate here twice during a recent weeks holiday in the area. Good range of choice of food for all and decent ales on tap. Service was good although the upper room restaurant area was full on both visits. Can recommend the seafood linguini and the cheese board

Really good food, cooked well, and served quickly despite the restaurant being busy. Very friendly and attentive young man that served us in the restaurant - unfortunately we didn't catch his name to make a specific mention..

Good parking and gardens. Great food and nice selection of drinks and ales. This would be 5/5 but for the bar staff who are humourless and not welcoming. Shame. Everything else was really good.

Had a wonderful meal of burger and chips, my friend enjoyed hers too but couldn’t remember what she had, and there is a nice selection in the menu. Six in the evening on a Thursday wasn’t busy then but a lot of tables were reserved, with more being reserved as we were there and this was downstairs in the bar. Get there early or reserve your table early. There is also a restaurant upstairs but I had my dog so never visited it. Price of food was good and as it wasn’t busy at the time food was quick as well, with my burger being homemade and juicy. The pub and restaurant had a fair size car park but not the biggest, when the pub is very busy I can see there maybe some problems with parking possibly. Beautiful building with a working waterwheel and friendly staff. Will visit again when back that way.

Lovely old building, as the name suggests a working? watermill/wheel adds to the character of this old building. The Monday evening we went with friends it was out of season and the downstairs was half full. There is an upstairs restaurant where the kitchen is judging by the prepared food coming downstairs. The upstairs wasn't open but plenty of room downstairs.

We came here many times for a drink when we stayed in cornwall, this is the first time I have eaten here as I am allergic to oils and have coeliac Disease and we brought family for Sunday lunch.my meal unfortunately was a let down.I had a chicken breast which was way overcooked and my new potatoes were undercooked as I couldn't get my knife through them.my carrots and peas were edible, but the cauliflower again undercooked. The meal itself came with no gravy and I told them in advance I was coming,so I'm sure the chef could have made me me an oil free gravy,so it was overall dry and a big dissapointment.my family had traditional Sunday lunch, which they all enjoyed and there was certainly plenty,so good value for money and I'm told the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. The staff are lovely and friendly and overall it's a lovely cosy pub, just a let down for food if you have allergies
