Best drinks in town! Honestly such nice cocktails can’t fault it! Jenna running the place was such a lovely host! Can’t wait to come back

Stayed in the Apartment above for 1 night self catering for £200. Seemed great at first but going into the bar I ordered 3 drinks (1 Can of original Strongbow and 1 large and 1 medium house rose glass for £19.50...), I could handle if the cider was not a multibuy can or if they had a simple draught cider on offer but no it was pretty much 20 quid for 2 cheap wines and a can of below average cider. After the bar closed at 9pm the owner (after declining our service for drinks on a Bank Holiday Friday) decided to invite her mates over for a lock in and blasted music out till 5am keeping us awake all night so think twice about staying in this place unless you are deaf and don't mind being ripped off. I think the negative comments and always an excuse in reply tells you how this place works so maybe lower your prices and up the standards you offer for the service provided in future. Wouldn't Return or recommend

Lovely spot and playing some great music. Drinks very expensive @ £14 for 2 medium glasses of wine and cash only which is strange and inconvenient - wasn't too busy but quite a few potential customers lost as a result. Lots of cocktails on offer but bar started shutting down around 7pm - prime cocktail time?

My wife and I visited here on Saturday 15th July on our first day of our holiday meeting up with my in laws, all though the weather was not great our experience at the cafe was great, food was fabulous, service was fabulous and its great value for money. It's far enough away from the commotion of Scarborough sea-front, so although it was busy when we arrived, it wasn't swamped. I cannot recommend this Cafe enough, clean, pleasant and dog friendly.

Visited for a coffee last Sunday. Ordered two flat white coffees and was served with what can be seen in the photo below, which is clearly not a flat white. I understand if the staff member doesn't know what a flat white coffee is but just say rather than serving a milky instant coffee. Experience made worse by when I explained this isn't a flat white I got looked at with disgust with no suggestion of a replacement or refund just got told they could put it in a smaller cup when I told them flat whites come in a smaller cup. Will attach a photo of a flat white for educational purposes from a cafe round the corner.

Sexy bar ladies, great vibes, decent food.. would highly recommend visiting.. great prices! Great views!

if you want good banter down to earth bar cafe whatever is it this is the place..we got fish and chips as a meal washed down with loads of cocktails pints you name it the staff are on form the young girls are amazing. nice cool decor love the bar itself so friendly people need to support this business its fab!

Spent a couple of hours here today lovely cold drinks reasonably priced for a perfect waterfront bar and the owner is lovely well worth a visit well done

I visited here on the weekend of the armed forces event. Obviously everywhere was busy however we managed to get a table outside this venue. We ordered a moretti lager and a vodka and Diet Coke. The server asked for £14.50. I thought I had heard wrong and questioned it. She said the lager was £6 and the vodka and Diet Coke was £8.50. I have never paid that price for vodka anywhere not Leeds or London or Harrogate or York etc….. The lager was fine however the vodka came in a standard glass and the coke was flat. I expected, because of the price, that it would have been a top class vodka, a lovely glass and a sparkling coke but none of these elements happened. My partner took the drink back and they did replace it however this was just as bad. I don’t mind paying over the odds for drinks in a stunning bar and excellent products but this was none of the above. I feel that this bar inflated their prices massively on this busy weekend. I will never visit here again because of this reason.

Lovely and friendly cafe run by efficient owner & staff overlooking the harbour serving delicious scones and bacon rolls! 😋.

Stayed at the apartment above,couldn't wish for better,the views out the bedroom window alone were worth it...id actually think of buying this place off the owners lol...absolutely first class

Visited this establishment on 12/08/2021. Ok service. Surprised that they do not accept cards when champagne is on the menu. Pint OK but the cocktail was very sugary and unpleasant to drink. At £7 this was an expensive mistake. Very disappointing overall.

I came in the late afternoon and ate a toasted sandwich with mozzarella, pesto and tomato inside. I also had a large bowl of chips, both of which I enjoyed so much! The building had a very pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very friendly as well. Would totally recommend!

Fabulous vegan food and a good range for other tastes too...staff are absolutely lovely especially the lad with super blue eyes...so friendly and a lovely view too...Thank you ...

The place is nice and clean with a view across the harbour. Coffee was good and the staff all very friendly.

Got mixed up with all orders we watched them put the bacon in the microwave nice little spot and the coffee was decent other than that was terrible

We came in today as nothing else was open as the weather was chucking it down; lovely little cafe very small and they had every Other table closed of for Covid so only about 8 people inside the whole place felt very sorry for them and no outside seating due to the bad weather if only something could be out outside for bad weather such a large cover especially in these times this poor cafe won’t survive with only a few people coming in for coffee. Could be slightly warmer. Menu nice nice soup and coffee. Will call in again

We dropped in for a coffee, lucky enough to find an outside table, great little suntrap. Table clearing is s little slow, whilst we sat and watched we did not see any evidence of cleaning tables and wiping surfaces between customers, just tray removal and carry on. Perhaps in between peaks tables are cleared.It may be better to chain off and control entry as people leave, clear, clean and reset for next sitters.

great food ,great service and very well set up in response to the corona virus . tables and chairs were cleaned before we sat at our table ,only so many available places so if tables were taken you waited until the table was empty then cleaned . your sat overlooking the harbour .could not fault it .

Nice tea and coffee £5 for a toastier with no garnish etc, way to much cheese it was to sickly.Covid- tabled cleaned, hand sanitizer, screen at till but no no social distancing by staff or PPE free for all cutlery. Didn’t feel that safe at all, will not be returning

Brilliant friendly service. Lovely Awesome Burger complete with cheesy bacon fries. Loved by all by our 6 party table.

A lovely setting with a great view. The food was nice, but I was disappointed that they don’t have a tea pot. I much prefer my tea from a tea pot and rarely have come across a cafe that serves tea in mugs only. I had to ask for the table to be cleaned - which the lady briefly obliged with a token wipe. No chairs were sanitised, and for the duration of my stay I watched others sit at tables and chairs which were not sanitised between each use. The situation was far from busy, and cannot therefore be given as a defence for their lack of due care.

Lovely decor and lovely view over the harbour. A little more chilled out and a nice change from fish and chip shops

Visited today on our way through Scarborough as it looked very nice with the outdoor seating.Another customer had to tell us the ordering procedure as nobody came to us. Coffee was nice as were the teacakes. I then went inside to use the toilet to be told they didn't have one!The lady was very abrupt and off hand. How can an establishment with indoor and outside seating not have a toilet for customers?

we came in again today we always visit this cafe, sometime they do food sometimes they do not! not the end of the world they have just had a new born baby as i can see. they always have lovely cakes and treat toasted teacakes available if not food, there is fish and chips next door if people want a meal. this is a coffee and tea shop very small however lovely and clean toilet very small no room for prams rightly so with the other reviews about prams the cafe is tiny!! the young lad is always friendly and nice what more can you ask for! take care

Awful awful lunch !! Who fancies a rubber cheese and plastic ham roll for £4.20 ? Or even better a Heinz tinned soup for £4 ? Go to the local supermarket it is going to be cheaper and better !

I visited the cafe recently and received a warm welcome from Jen and Josh, I was served quickly and I had no complaints about the service. I wouldn’t take note of all the reviews below as they are what they say - tea/coffee, cakes and bacon/sausage sandwiches. I will happily go back to visit!

First off, the full menu is limited anyway however the one member of staff who was on had decided to only do toasted tea cakes or yesterday’s home baked cake offerings. Saw two sets of customer leave because of the one food offering. Secondly, the single member of staff who was working gave off the impression that he hated customers and we were an inconvenience. Hugely disappointing experience. Won’t be back again.

First of all dog friendly. Nice decor and spotlessly clean and welcoming. Good food and coffee with veggie options ( not the easiest in Scarborough). Most definitely would use again.

Stopped here for coffee on a lovely sunny day in January and sat outside. Great coffee and glad we found this place. Views of the harbour and so many people ,was like a day in July. Dog friendly as well. Really enjoyed it

Stopped off for a warming cup off coffee and a pot off tea. Great place with fabulous harbour views and it’s dog friendly so we were all happy. Will definitely be returning.

this cafe serves the best coffee on the harbour, food can be on or off but its out of season now so i understand. coffee and cakes hot drinks are always spot on and staff are nice.

Stopped by for a latte and a tea cake after a morning run. Coffee was perfect just the right temperature and reasonable priced. The tea cake came buttered and was nice. Really enjoyed sitting outside in the sun. The cafe is small but the deco has been done really tastefully with a quirky toilet. They have clearly spent time and money on this nice little gem of a place. Credit to the owners. Definitely visit in summer you won’t be disappointed.

good to be back at the waterfront cafe its such a friendly place,we orded their famouse bacon sandwitches mm really dilicious,and always fresh and hot, the staff always have a welcoming smile and are quick to serve,the cakes are well made mine is the carrot cake,are maybe the orange cake,to name but a few,and we love the latte or coffee made with milk,we will be back

Lovely location and decor. Ordered 3 coffees and 1 tea to go. However, the coffee and tea was poor quality and tasted of dishwater. Threw it away and went to elsewhere. Also felt that the service was very much lacking, didn’t feel welcomed at all.

Sat here now as I write on our weekend trip to scarborough we looked for somewhere to sit and have a drink well the waterfront cafe did not disappoint drinks and sandwiches all around very tasty lovely fresh ingredients brought quickly to us great service lovely staff. No complaints here we will be back again. Thanks

Great cafe with great view. Dog friendly added bonus as our golden retriever was very warm. Had full English and a toastie. Great value for money!

We came here after hearing how great the coffee was, if you’re thinking of doing the same then I wouldn’t bother. It was very underwhelming and bland.

My brother, dad and myself were simply looking for a sit down and coffee on our stroll around Scarborough for the day. On arriving my dad found a table outside and waited for us there. My brother and I went inside to order coffees (nobody else was in the cafe bar one man working and a lady at the other end - oh and the dog which was on a small lead at the entrance). As we were there reading the board not at one point did either of the employees greet us or even look at us. Due to the very cold reception we hesitantly asked if there were any 'dairy free' milk options available (for my brother) - we got a quick 'no' from the man with no eye contact. At this point i literally just left and said nothing, told my dad we would go somewhere else and we left. I'm not a fussy person or the type to leave a review but it was as if we had done something wrong from the second we walked in. A basic hello or smile would have just been pleasant and somewhat welcoming. The whole vibe was off.

Loved Scarborough and the friendly people. However a late breakfast here was the downside of the trip. The woman behind the counter was rude even though I remained respectful as well as scared that she would give me a good slap. At least the dog was friendly!

The most amazing little find. Spam fritters were fantastic and the chips were truly great. Will visit here again.

Came in today looking for a decaf soya coffee. They Don’t serve soya which is fair enough, but when I asked if I could use the loo I was told there are public conveniences across the road in quite an abrupt manner. I would have been a paying customer if I could have ordered to suit my needs so felt it was only fair to be allowed to use the toilet. I left and couldn’t quite see where the toilets were so went back in for clarification. Again given a very abrupt explanation and almost dismissed. Not a good vibe in terms of promoting good customer service. Overall just rude and brushed off. Can’t comment on food or drink quality because they don’t cater for dairy allergies.

Went here this morning. Between 4 we ordered 3 coffees, a milkshake, and two tea cakes. We also asked for a glass of tap water. However we were told (in a somewhat rude manner) that they would only serve water to a dog and as such made us pay for bottled mineral water. Later we then asked why they had this policy they told us that they had so safe drinking water supply.

Yummy veggie burgers and good service despite being busy. I was especially impressed that I saw very little single use plastic here.

If your scottish, your money isn't good enough here. The reason given for refusing to accept it is that "they don't have to". Paid by card and the coffee was actually good. But this place is not representative of the friendly people we've met so far in Scarborough. No one else seemed to have a problem.

Good food, great coffee and super service....could do with being twice as big cos getting a seat can be a problem hence marked down one point. Still highly recommended will definitely return

This is our 4th visit to this cafe and it is still as good as ever . The staff are polite and helpful . Thomas looked after us , finding us a table inside and making sure we were happy. The food is wonderful, can’t wait for our next visit . The Waterfront burger is a definite hit with our family

Staff were very rude, I’m 7 months pregnant and wanted to go to the toilet before ordering as I couldn’t hold it any longer. Told in no uncertain terms that I had to order first. Honestly wouldn’t bother, expensive and nothing tasted great.

Visited today with my husband intending to have lunch and a coffee..... couldn’t see a menu so asked waitress for one and was told there was only the one on the counter.... limited options as I am veggie.... so asked if it was possible to have a salad sandwich but was told in no uncertain terms that they didn’t do salad.... so I went without and just ordered a latte.... wished we hadn’t bothered... they came in paper cups even though we were sat inside... and was basically just a very milky coffee which quickly developed a skin on top.... it was undrinkable. Such a shame considering they are advertising good quality coffee beans and have a decent coffee machine.... however they are not producing barista coffee.... this could be a great little cafe considering it’s location but at the moment it has too many negatives and I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

My partner and I stayed in the apartment above the cafe. Very spacious with kitchen, living room and balcony looking out onto the harbour. 2 double bedrooms on the second floor. Was modern and clean.

Popped in for a coffee and a rest and found they didn’t have any plant milk, just the kind meant for calves to drink. lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. We had a Fentimans cherry cola and sat at the bar which meant you could look out and people watch. Great pastime!

We visited on Saturday for a coffee and a scone with fresh cream and Jam absolutely lovely and great value for money .The staff very polite too and a spotless clean cafe Thankyou we will definitely be back .

We visited today while on a day trip in Scarborough. We weren’t initially hungry but we were offered Scones with Jam and cream by the friendly older lady with tattoos and couldn’t say no for the price. Hot chocolate was creamy, cappuccino frothy, scones delicious. Quick service by really friendly ladies with the best view in Scarborough. We’ll be back in April.

Having a lovely walk along Scarborough beach and came across waterfront cafe. Looked nice and had a good atmosphere so thought we’d go in for some food and a coffee. Was greeted by some very welcoming girls who brought our coffees over once we sat down. Lovely view, beautiful weather, great coffee. HOWEVER... the service from the older blonde lady making the food was appalling!! Brought the food over slamming it on the table and walked off without saying a word. Need to sort some of your staff out!!

On face value, The Waterfront Cafe would appear to have many things in its favour ... excellent location, plenty of outdoor seating, smart premises, dog friendly ... unfortunately after that it’s rapidly downhill! The food is pretty average, scones from Morrison’s that cost £1.00 for 4, cheap bread, very average coffee, lack of napkins and cutlery, dirty tables ... but what tops that list is the truly indifferent service from either the owners or staff who would clearly prefer to be doing something else other than serving customers.

We went to look at the flat that we have rented for a week next year but while we were there we had a coffee and a bun which were both excellent , very clean cafe and very friendly staff.

My wife and I called in for a spot of lunch whilst visiting the harbour area. We soon found a table outside, which was great as it was a lovely sunny day. There is plenty of seating inside if the weather was not too good.

Worst cafe I have ever been in table was sticky cakes are stale dirty cups and service is terrible and waitress with a attitude problem won’t be visiting again which is a shame as it’s in prime location 😒

Visited twice on my visit and always enjoy going back. Staff are very friendly and welcoming but the location and layout is the cherry on top. Fantastic open air seating to enjoy the views or people watch! Coffee is great, not eaten yet but will do again am sure

We always when out on our motorcycles aim for here for a cuppa and a cake from there large and fresh cakes counter The service is excellent and staff very helpful and friendly

Menu is limited for savouries but did have a good range of sweet treats. A good range of coffees. The food we had was very nice but when you are visiting with a large family can be expensive.

My wife and I called in for coffee and I asked for a cappuccino and a double shot Americano, Black. The coffee arrived and didn’t look very strong and on tasting it was like dish water. I went straight back in and asked if they had put me a double shot in like I originally had asked and was informed all coffee’s had double shots but she could add another shot but it would cost me an extra 50pence for both coffees. I duly paid and was told it would be brought out to me. It arrived but the coffee was slopped in my saucer and no apology was forth coming and on tasting it as really no better.

A great little café in the south bay, overlooking the harbour. Able to sit outside, really pleasant. Had coffee and cake both days. Coffee and walnut the first day, excellent. The second day disappointed there wasn't the same flavour as the previous day. However, there was chocolate and orange and this was scrumptious. Good job I don't live in Scarborough otherwise I would be there every day.

We popped in this lovely cafe for a much needed coffee. The service was brilliant and it's in a lovely location right on the front with indoor and outdoor seating. The decor was lovely and contemporary and it was clean,tidy and had good bathroom facilities.

Stopped here for a quick cuppa, much nicer than most places on Scarborough harbour, really inviting and friendly atmosphere. I especially love the decor inside, really bright and homey. We will definitely come back the next time we’re here.

Lovely coffee, great little cafe. This was my first visit and certainly won't be my last! They also gave a free square of rocky road with the coffee that was delicious- these little things make a difference!

Dropped by here for a quick cuppa today. It's much nicer than most of the cafes and teabars in Scarborough. Clean and inviting. The lady running it and her grandma were really friendly and well definitely be back. We got a free scone for my wife and I went for a homemade carrot cake. Best I've ever had. If you're in Scarborough, give it a go.

Called in with Stanley after a walk on the beach. Great coffee and cakes! Very friendly and pleasant environment. Stanley was very welcome and the staff were very pleasant

Popped in for a quick cup of tea and was met with a warm welcome. Beverages were lovely, as were the free biscuits that were placed on the saucer. Staff were very friendly and created a lovely atmosphere. Would deliberately recommend and will visit again when next in the area.

Stopped for a coffee with my Mrs! Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Asked for tap water, the kind lady explained it wasnt the best due to the level of hard water in the area. Tried it anyway and she was right, totally gross. Bottled water very cheap compared to other places. The kind lady brought our coffees over with a biscuit for each of us, really lovely touch! Beautiful little cafe with some very interesting books. New favourite spot in Scarborough.

As this was probably our fourth visit to this cafe I felt it was time to write a review.A lovely pleasant morning in November is a nice time to have a stroll around Scarborough and we decided to once again stop at the waterfront cafe for a break.A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by,great views too.The service here is second to none,the staff are really on the ball,no time to twiddle thumbs here.The coffee is delightful,hot,tasty and served in lovely cups.My husband loves the bacon sandwiches which are served on fresh crusty bread,won’t go anywhere else for his elevenses in Scarborough.Would highly suggest that everyone should try this place,it’s delightful.

Called in here with a friend and I must say what a lovely place . We had a latte and a toasted teacake followed by the most delicious carrot cake . The staff were so lovely and friendly excellent customer service . A comfortable clean place and we will definitely visit again when next in Scarborough

Nice sunny day for coffee and cake overlooking the harbour. Lime and courgette cake was delicious, all topped off with a great latte.

Called in this cafe for tea and toast mid morning, what a disappointment. When asked for brown or granary bread told very abruptly we don't have any, only white bread. So reluctantly ordered. When it arrived only one slice of the thinnest bread imaginable! Tea was a tea beg in a mug of hot water. Not worth the price we were chared. On the plus side the cafe décor was extremely pleasant. Sorry but will not call in again. So many nicer and more value for money cafes in Scarborough with more friendly staff.

We had eaten at this cafe, a couple of years ago, so decided to try it again,- it was good then and it's good now. The place is only small inside, but has plenty of seating outside, so you can watch the world go by, on a sunny day. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.The soups on offer were various, we had the potato and leek, it came in a large coffee cup(novel),with warm bread. It was very filling,tasty and good value. The rest of the menu was short, but then you know that everything is going to be freshly prepared. The great thing about this place is the coffee and the choice of teas. You get a good cup of coffee at a reasonable price, ( £2.50 for a latte), there is also a good choice of fresh cakes and scones,very appealing. If you just want a light snack,with good value for money, then give this place a try. ( There are plenty of places to eat along the front at Scarborough,but this cafe, is good value).

Having a good long walk around Scarborough bay, called here as they used Baytown coffee, which is excellent tasting coffee from Whitby, Asked for two Flat whites , yes they did them or so they said !!! What came was two tall milky lattes ! They added extra shots that they say made them flat whites !!! No no no what a waste of a good bean , if your going to sell yourself as a good coffee shop with nice fresh cakes etc then please learn your coffee, we left them and went else where , which is such a shame as everything else about the cafe was lovely , staff young and uninterested..

The staff are so friendly and go the extra mile, they're very helpful and polite. I make sure I visit at least once a week for my favourite coffee and teacake. The view is amazing and decor is modern all handcrafted by the owners. I recommend this cafe to all my friends and family when they visit Scarborough. Whether the sun is shining or a rainy day you can guarantee a first class service, food and drinks from the lovely team at Waterfront Cafe.
