Great little spot for dinner. Easy to book online and great friendly service from the second we arrived. I am gluten and dairy free and they gave me the allergy menu straight Away and were very knowledgeable around allergies. I had a lovely chicken and bacon salad with chips and it was lovely! Reasonably priced and great kids menu. Will definitely visit again

Called here for breakfast while staying in scarborough, the service from the friendly staff was excellent as was the food. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was very relaxed, the staff were very helpful while we were there they opened another door to make it easier for a customer to access the premises. Would definitely visit again and recommed other to give King Richard iii a try too.

Came here for lunch with 6 friends. We were shown to a seat straight away,my dog was welcomed inside. The menu had a good range of food on it which covered all of us in the party. When we ordered the food came quickly and was freshly prepared and cooked. Lovely surroundings and friendly staff.

We have always enjoyed dining here and our recent visit was no exception! We had the most amazing Sunday roast dinner which is probably the best roast meal I have had in a very long time- cooked to perfection, full of flavour and generous portions. Fabulous table service, friendly, welcoming and inclusive. Looking forward to a return visit.

Visited this restaurant this week and found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. Asked if we had any allergies etc. Service was excellent and the food was hot and delicious. Would definitely visit this restaurant next time we visit Scarborough.

We called in this week and was met by a very pleasant waitress who took our order. We have avoided these sea front pubs as we guessed they would be expensive and tacky, however what a find, prices were competitive and the place was clean and well presented. We did not eat but when we went in the pub people were eating and the food looked good. We will return.

We went there to get a proper steak pie. And we got it. Fast serving, and it tasted real fine.

I ordered a regular haddock fish n chips and got whale n chips. I can't imagine what a large would look like... it was huge and very very tasty, well cooked and served hot within 10 mins. Very friendly service. Waitress asked if i wanted more time deciding before returning a few minutes later to take our orders with a happy service that continued as we left. Anybody inn Scarborough wanting to know where they get their money's worth, this is the place. Music could do with being a bit louder for my liking.

Food disappointing, left most of it. Was our favourite place to eat a few years back but it seems to have declined as regards the quality of the food. Sadly won't be going again. In response to your comments we were not asked at any stage if our food was ok! In fact I thought it was extremely bad that the gentleman who collected our plates didn't comment on a full plate of uneaten food being left.

A well oiled machine when it comes to service!! Food and drink order taken quickly, and food was very good, waiting time was good too!!

Me and my mum went for breakfast here and the service was amazing - they were very friendly and couldn’t so enough for us. The food was gorgeous and hot too and the service was quick I took my Dalmatian with us and they gave him breakfast too in a dog bowl 5 star service I couldn’t recommend enough

I only had an oat latte and beans on toast, but the meal was excellent, I love beans anyway, but these were very thick and saucy on really good bread. The staff were super friendly. Lovely atmosphere and great service.

What a place some cheeky geezer named Connor was chatting some bare stuff was glad to see him kicked out I can’t lie his missis needs to teach him a lesson of respect he looks about 45 for gods sake keep yourself under control. Other than that had a great night, found out recently it’s dog friendly can’t wait to bring my staffy, the dark hound he will love it there. Family wanna come visit now they better owe me pints for this recommendation I tell you that now. Anyways bloody great staff if you ask me shoutout to the girl on shift Dk her name had to many pints since then but you made my and my girlfriends night we really appreciate it. Had our 2nd visit here today and couldn’t have been happier with our overall experience .We were greeted by a lovely gent and our order was taken by a lovely young lady. We had two chicken and stuffing Sunday lunches which were simply lovely. We will be visiting again next time we are in Scarborough .

A beautiful building with a little gem of a restaurant. They also serve drinks too. Coffee, soft drinks and beer.

Absolutely amazing visit! The food and service are top notch! The also accommodated access for wheelchair and informed us that the loo was not accessible, giving us the option to stay or not! Outstanding! Next visit to Scarbs will definitely include another visit

Lovely place to stop and eat, food was delicious and the waiting staff were great. The building is amazing and it's worth a trip inside to see the beautiful stone work and decor. Toilets are upstairs so might be an issue for anyone who struggles with mobility, but the staff were accommodating for people with prams.

Pleasant staff, efficient service and tasty food. Price quite reasonable for its prime harbourside location.

Went in 25/5/24 with partner for a drink, saw the food being brought to tables , it looked & smelt delicious, we went back in today 26/5/24 didn't realise we ought to of booked a table but they had a table spare, we ordered drinks & Sunday roast dinner, there was a constant flurry of customers all the time we were in there, our food came it was tasty home cooked food, & plenty of it, we ordered deserts, sticky toffee pudding & a baked cheesecake for the partner, it was sooo tasty, very happy with everything, staff were really good considering they were all rushed off there feet, I'll be returning in July with my mam she will love the food, we'll done KRIII ✔️

Visited here on bank holiday Monday before we headed home after a lovely weekend staying in Scarborough. We popped in for a cream tea, and it was absolutely delicious and was so much cheaper than any of the other places! The scones were home made and were amazing! Lovely staff and lovely atmosphere too 😊 would definitely visit again when I Scarborough for a meal next time as the food looked incredibly tasty! Will be back soon!

Returned here because we visited over a decade ago and remembered it being nice. It isn't an extensive menu, but there was enough choice to keep 4 of us happy. Inevitably it was busy as it was raining outside and people were looking for food and shelter. Upon ordering it was disappointing to discover most meals were actually very basic and you had to pay for extras. They are able to ramp up the price this way as they don't tell you how much the extras cost. For 4 of us to eat a 1 course main meal and a drink each and only one of those drinks was alcoholic, it cost over £80!

Went on recommendation of lady who's place were renting in the town, had fish chips special for two then sat out finishing drinks lovely food, staff even provided taxi numbers as limited mobility and it was a long and steep.walk back to Ramshill

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the King Richard iii today. Met by a very friendly and approachable young lady who sat us in a quiet spot with our two little dogs. Plenty of time given to view the menu. Adequate waiting time for food and drinks to be delivered. Food exceptionally good and well presented. If we lived closer we would definitely return as the food was good value and delicious but the service five star.

What a place on the seafront at Scarborough and one of the oldest buildings in the town dating back to the 1400's.bar and eatery. We had fish and chips tea and bread and butter for four of us and we all really enjoyed it and for just over £50 it seems very well priced. Definitely go again. I'd score it 8.5 out of 10.

Great find whilst looking for breakfast. The staff were friendly and helped to seat us and took our order at the table. The food came out quick and was of good quality. This is now my go-to place whilst in Scarborough for food.

I was interested in the building and the gentleman behind the bar offed me an interesting book on the history of the place, great service

Staff were good. Thought we were going into a quaint historical pub, but really a seafront bar with a modern unsympathetic interior. Not horrendous, but there are better options.

Didn't see the need to wait to be seated, Having said that all was good 1 of the few pubs these days where you can get a good beer not this fancy fruity flavoured new fangled beers, beers were good staff was friendly just a good clean pub. didn't eat so cant comment on the food.

The atmosphere didn't do the magic for me. Looks like an old people's inn/beer parlour. The atmosphere aside, the service was okay and I had one of the best hot chocolates there.

Called in today for Sunday lunch and was met by a very polite , welcoming young man. He showed us to a table and a few minutes later a waitress took our order. She too was extremely polite and friendly. We ordered a Chicken and Stuffing Sunday Roast and the Homemade Meat Pie. The meals were absolutely delicious, hot and plentiful. If we're in Scarborough again on holiday we shall definitely return!

Only had drinks. March 16th just before closing. Young waitress was brilliant. Great customer service. Nice drinks to.

Great Scarborough seafront pub freshly refurbished with good food and dog friendly

Very welcoming and helpful staff. We popped in for a lunchtime snack and had a panini each. Food was perfect, chips were like old chippy chips and the portion size and side salad with the panini was ideal. Definately recommend and will come here again when we’re in the area.

Such a kind, hospitable spot on a rainy day! We aimed for here as we have been treated well by staff before and this time was no exception! Us and our dog were wet through but we were welcomed warmly and seated by a radiator were we could dry off our soggy selves! We did not stay for food this time as we had a meal booked elsewhere, just liqueur coffees but this is a great, dog friendly establishment that always make you feel at home. The owners should be very proud of themselves and their staff - we will always be back! :-) x

Lovely place, great staff, good selection of beers, wines and hot beverages. Dog friendly. Good food menu. Staff really friendly.

The food is good, the prices are fair, the problem lies with the service. It is table service so as soon as you have ordered the come over to get payment (which is fair enough). After that they bring the food and then busy themselves only looking up if another customer enters the building. Trying to get their attention can be hard to do.

We only had drinks so can't comment on the food. The latte was hot, large and fabulous and the hot chocolate was very nice, hot and tasty. We'll be back!

We always eat here when we go to Scarborough because they are by far the best fish & chips in Scarborough. All the food looks delicious & well presented. The staff are friendly & helpful. We've tried just about all the fish & chip restaurants in Scarborough & even though this isnt actually one as such, they are way better. I would highly recommend Richard 3rd

Delicious Hot chocolate and Cappuccino! The hot chocolate was accompanied by cream and marshmallows - a true tradition to have when a sweet tooth like me! Waitress was lovely and was very attentive to table service, even when was busy. View was lovely when sat outside and enjoying the true Scarborough views!

Very tasty home cooked food, generous portions. I had the roast chicken Sunday dinner and was not disappointed! Smothered in lashings of gravy with a home made Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, mash and roast potatoes and veg. Good value in a lovely building right on the sea front.

Stopped for some food and a coffee on our travels. Great little medieval decorated pub with a cosy atmosphere. Food was excellent with a friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

Called in for lunch as visiting scarborough for the day. Waitress took us to a table and handed us menus . VERY clean tables . Food very tasty . Fish chips and mushy peas . Cheese and red onion panini and chips side salad . BEST chips I've had in a long time . Worth visiting .

We had intended to visit somewhere nearby for lunch but despite opening times stating 9am they were not open until 12 and it was ten to So we took a wander and happened upon king Richards Being local we had heard good reviews but never been so we decided to try Very pleased we did Food was excellent Chips especially Had a hot baguette which is one of my go to and did not disappoint Asked for extra gravy and happy to provide Staff were great Excellent options for food and drink Will go again

Chanced this place on a hot day because there was other dogs outside and the breakfast looked good that other ppl were having. Wasn’t disappointed service was spot on and the food was good. Sausages were the worst bit on both the normal and veggie breakfast but it didn’t put us off.

Staff are so pleasant brought my furry friend and had such a lovely meal sat inside and outside whilst sipping some rose. Had gammon and chips and the steak in a giant yorkshire and the gammon was so good good portion size and very tasty! The yorkshire pudding didn’t look homemade but was (which showed the quality) and tasted really good the best yorkshire puds ive had in a while. my pooch even got a bowl of water provided by the staff (there is also a sausage on the menu for dogs!!!) ALSO THE CHIPS WERE SOOOOO GOOD!!!

Little gem in amongst the rest. Try this cafe/bar out and you will be in for a nice surprise. Good quick service, tasty food and drink. A cut above the rest on the sea front.
