Watch House in Belsize Park has become my favourite cafe to go to . 🤩 Excellent customer service by the staff. It has a modern vibe . Lovely selection of food for brunch and light bites . The toasted Banana Bread is so tasty .,The best I have had so far in a cafe . Great place to meet friends . Very Good coffee of course too ! What is not to like for this lovely Watch house in Belsize Park 👌

This is on the walking tour you can take through Rotherhithe, along the Thames. It's a walk you take yourself that kind of winds in and out, sometimes right next to the river, and sometimes going away from the river just a bit to get around a building or some kind of obstacle. Eventually you get to the Mayflower Pub, and the Watchtower Cafe is in (away from the river) just a block, if that. You have to look for it. (I'd seen the picture online, and when we were on our walk, I was looking right at for a while before I recognized it. It's a coffee shop with fresh-baked goods. Very small, with a nice, cozy outdoor patio. Very, very nice couple running the place. It was nice to sit and have a mid-afternoon coffee at that point in our walk. There's an old school right next to it (with the painted boy and girl statues above the front doorway). Worth the stop.

This is a lovely place to go for coffee, pastries and very very good sandwiches. The friendly owner helps to make it a relaxed place. On a sunny day it’s wonderful to sit outside in this beautiful and historic part of London.

I recommend grabbing a coffee or hot chocolate here. The sandwiches are also very good quality. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Sitting in the park next to it is really enjoyable and calm when the weather allows it.

For friends were in their way to the Brunel Museum and this "cafe" was part of our local tour. Just right really, coffee and heated baguette and seats just inside the park area to relax. What more can I say apart from friendly chap in charge.

I found the owner obnoxious. He makes you feel like you are a nuisance, disturbing him, not a pleasant feeling. It is not as if his coffee was worth the unpleasant experience either.

Four of us came here for lunch on Saturday. The bespoke rolls were delicious - especially the herby (probably rosemary) bread. Highly recommend.

A tiny little shop next to a small garden with alfresco tables and chairs. The coffee and hot chocolate were well served and piping hot on a cold morning, the fresh croissant, delicious. Very friendly staff.

After we left the Mayflower Pub we wanted to find a place nearby that was quiet and where we could actually get something to eat. The Watch House Cafe was perfect. My wife had a Pastrami with goats cheese and I had the pastrami and cheddar. The other patrons were eating simple fare, just croissants and sandwiches. My wife's fancy coffee was, in her words, excellent. I think our meal there was very sensibly sized and priced at about 10 pounds for two sandwiches and a coffee, and we ate outside behind the cafe in the sunshine, in the park -- at tables and chairs.

We were looking for the Brunel Museum and stumbled into this absolutely delightful cafe. The waitresses were very helpful and we sat in the sunshine in the garden with tasty home baked cake and hot tasty coffee. What a find. I’d recommend to anyone!

Stumbled across this little place whilst walking The Thames Path with a little help from the chap at the Brunel Museum (as he was kind enough to tell us that he only sells Nescafé!). He gave us a little history lesson about grave robbers at the same time as the churchyard is close to Guy’s hospital which made the visit more interesting. Inside is tiny but cosy. I can imagine on a sunny day sitting outside would be lovely. Coffee was great & we didn’t have food but it all looked delicious. We are not history buffs but this area is really interesting with the Mayflower pub close by also.

Love this cafe within gardens near the historic church in Rotherhithe. The ladies are so friendly, the coffee and cakes great and the park an oasis. Great destination for a coffee and usually a chair free when other places are full...

Grade II listed watch house with a basement cell, originally housed constables to prevent grave robbing in St Mary's church yard. Now a coffee shop with seats and tables amongst the head stones outside, pleasant on a sunny day.

London coffee by and large isn't very good; however, Watchhouse Cafe is a standout among them. Small, friendly with interesting sweets this is one of the few places to deliver me a consistently good long black over many months [Mar-Aug 2016].

I know it's a thing--Americans like huge portions--but while the coffee here was really good, the servings were tiny. Almost three pounds for half a cup of latte is a bit ridiculous... It IS good coffee, though.

The Watchhouse is not large but has plenty of community spirit. It is well positioned for a cup tea during a walk among the picturesque streets of the Rotherhithe waterfront. The coffee and tea are good quality but without the affectations (and prices) of next-door Bermondsey. The historic building lets one hide out against the weather or sit outside at the back and survey the former churchyard. A fine space with families with children.

Firstly I am writing about the new coffee shop at the end of Bermondsey St SE1 as have other reviewers below, but that doesn't match the address stated above. However I want t say that this place while lovely to look at & cleverly designed doesn't deliver where it matters, price, quality & value for money. It is probably better if you are a regular, they seemed to get a better welcome. It took a good minute to be acknowledged even though I was the only one waiting at the counter. The flat white & hot cross bun I ordered cost £4.60. The coffee while decent in taste ( not exceptional) with a beautiful pattern on the top was small & not that hot. I also heard another customer asking for their coffee to be heated up. The bun took a while to be toasted so I had almost finished my coffee, and arrived with the equivalent of a half of the standard butter pats you mostly get in a little pot. Other places I go to regularly serve 2 whole butter pats for a similar bun. I would've asked for more but I was so fed up with the measly attitude I just decided I would always go in the future to the much better & friendlier HEJ coffee shop 2 minutes walk away across the other side of Bermondsey Square. Having nice flowers on the table didn't cut it for me.

This is quite a cramped little place (it was the old lock-up in 1821!), a little building attached to the side of what was the old school house and on the edge of a little green or park. Because it is so small inside, it is fortunate that there is an outdoor seating area as well. The coffee, cakes, etc are delicious and apparently they do crepes. We also had freshly squeezed orange juice. It was all prepared and served by two efficient and friendly young women. It seemed popular and is in an old part of Rotherhithe, opposite St Mary the Virgin Church and just round the corner from the Brunel Museum. It was perfect for the mid-morning break on our walk from London Bridge to Greenwich. But, beware, there are no toilets - for that you need to go to the Brunel Museum (and you could buy a card or two there, as they are attractive, interesting and only £2 each for big ones).

I echo another reviewer where had a Kernel IPA, which definitely tasted dodgy but the server didn’t offer a replacement or feel anything was wrong with it! Otherwise seems like a nice spot but perhaps maintenance for their many craft beers isn’t diligent?
