Ive been in Chapter today and had a Tuna melt toastie and Flat white. It was so tasty. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended

Got promised a filling wrap, it was pure salad. More leaves than I’ve seen since the brexit vote. Only one toilet and I’m pretty sure smiling is against company policy.

I didn’t stop here for anything like coffee or cake, but it does look like a great place to come and relax and drink some coffee. I stopped here to speak with the kind ladies who help me out as I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner (pasta for the kids) and they highly recommended some great options. So thank you for that.

I've been here a few times now, an easy recommendation just because of the number of espresso martini options - all of which I've tried and enjoyed. Would strongly recommend for a quick drink, or a catch up with friends.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, great staff. Shame the manager just asked us to leave within minutes of finishing our coffee and having just finished feeding our 1 week old baby. It seems like it’s fine to sit in here with your laptop but not with a baby.

Great service. 2 really fun attentive staff, serving high quality drinks. Definitely worth a visit. Music too loud for me but I am not aligned to the rest in this. 100% worthy a repeat visit. Thank you Ola for the cocktails

Firstly wonderful staff, coffee is fantastic and the service is first class. Always a great vibe there. Definitely, worth hitting up and one of the best stops in London. One of the best drinks they serve is "Dark and Stormy" 100% recommend trying.

Popped in for breakfast with family, lovely little cafe with super friendly staff. Tasty pastries and sausage rolls. Only not a 5 star because one of our party had avocado and egg toasty and would have loved a poached runny egg in it rather than boiled egg. But otherwise a great find

This was the only place on this street that had food and was open on boxing day. We came in to enjoy the famous toasty of London. Had the veggie one and really loved it.

Really glad I discovered Chapter 72! A fabulous family run business. The owner Rod and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. The music and atmosphere is fantastic. The best cocktails I’ve had in a long time! And yes, they really do make the best espresso martinis in London!

Such a great evening spot for a cocktail - delicious espresso martinis! The atmosphere is always fab with good music and fun bar staff and it’s not usually too busy either. Definitely recommend.

Friendly staff and good service. Food was simple but tasty: sourdough bread toastie would have benefitted from a side salad,for my liking. Lentil soup was a hit so were the cakes. Nice place for brunch. Will definitely go back.

是个典型带歧视的咖啡馆。我和朋友周三早上进去，朋友在他家买了咖啡，我自带一杯咖啡但是没有喝。我们原本想坐着等朋友喝完她的咖啡再走，但是一位男服务员在朝女服务员使了使眼色之后，那位收银女服务员居然就要赶我和朋友走，说因为我有一杯外带咖啡（但是我自始至终没有在他家喝过一口，连放到嘴边的动作都没做，就是捂在手里）。 这么歧视的咖啡馆我真的第一次碰到。 我朋友一口咖啡还没喝，我俩就被赶出来了！ 很愤怒！再好喝的咖啡如果經營者沒有人性沒有人情味都是0。

This is, quite simply, the best spot on bermondsey st. Coffee by day, cocktails by night. You have to visit.

I never been to this place but reading the comments and staff responses to customers, I don’t think i would even bother to visit this place and get that same attitude!

Cute location and interior - has a nice cosy atmosphere. But pan au choc was stale, and nothing was said or done aside from it being taken away when I mentioned this. I don’t think I would visit again as there are many cafes in area with fresher pastries.

After we paid for coffee, I was told we can't sit in front because my friend had a drink from another place. Understandable to not allow this as a business practice, but not the kind of business you want to visit with friends. Edit: Just to be clear, it's perfectly fine for everyone in the group to be expected to order something, but forcing everyone to also throw away their food and drinks is a bit pretentious.

The best Espresso Martini in London. Service is always great. Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to local bars.

Last night we stopped by to try the famous espresso martini at chapter 72, Hand down the best I’ve ever had. The vibe was great and the service was outstanding.

Stopped here for a chai latte and a handmade pork and sage sausage roll, it didn’t disappoint 👌

I used to like this place but my last experience was disappointing: took two friends and we were treated quite rudely by a waitress who seem to assume we were using a table without consuming... while my friend was actually on the other side ordering different things. Bittersweet. EDIT post-response from the place: you have the wrong person in mind in your response. We came as a group of 3 people and ordered immediately as we just had a bit of time before catching a train, we certainly did not stay for 2 hours and did not use a 6 person table, rather we gathered in a little corner and had barely any space, we had no laptop and were just enjoying each other's company, no one put their feet up. It is very disgraceful that you would address negative comments in this way.

Note that you can't use your laptop here. Still a nice place to hangout.

Amazing atmosphere and respectful staff

Went for a quick cocktail- which was delicious, the music was not to my vibe and a bit loud for me. Staff was super nice and accommodating. It’s a shame they do not have more tables outside or you can’t really have drinks outside like you do near a pub, but that’s not their fault.

It was alright I suppose. The bloke behind the till offers service with a sneer. Maybe it's because I'm not a Londoner that I find rudeness rude. Dunno. Where I'm from people use phrases like 'please' and 'thank you' and 'you're welcome' and genuinely value your custom and hence your money. It was very over-priced. Maybe it's one of these new trendy places where you pay extra to be abused? Dunno. Anyway, back to Caffe Nero for me I think. Staff are far more polite and friendly.

Me and my family visited Chapter 72 on the weekend , Im happy to say it is one of the most welcoming place , they made us feel like home and the espresso martinis were the best we've ever had ! Highly recommeded , definitely going back !! :)

Cute cafe with good coffee, food, and a very long and very tasty espresso martini menu.

Given this is a specialist coffee shop I expect the staff to know how to make a proper coffee. So when my coffee was presented with burnt overcooked milk which was not only obvious in its appearance (which was like a nespresso machine cup) but as soon as I tasted it I could taste the bitterness. I politely asked her to make it again and not overheat the milk. She did this reluctantly and with attitude - tried to tell me the decaf tastes different like I don’t know what decaf tastes like. Then I watched her do exactly the same thing again. When I tasted it my face gave it away but I couldn’t be bothered to ask her to make it again so I walked away. She then proceeded to antagonise me in front of all the customers by shouting “was it still not up to your standards madam? Would you like me to make it a 3rd time?”. I had already said it’s fine but she continued to attempt to get a rise out of me. It’s one thing to have inexperienced staff making coffees, that can be forgiven but attitude like that means I will never step foot through those doors again.

Amazing Espresso Martinis. I had the the Velvet Martini and a regular Espresso Martini. Both were amazing! The staff is friendly.

An amazing coffee shop come bar the smashing coffee martinis and quirky cocktails. Staff and super friendly. For top cocktail tips ask for Olivia, she is an outstanding hostess.

Best espresso martini I've ever had. Period. Only issue is it's too hot inside. But, to be fair, it's too hot everywhere in London when it's 90 degrees outside. You won't regret going here. And the service is excellent.

Been a customer for 4 years, recommended Chapter 72 to countless friends. Bought ground espresso for the first time the other day, which was prepared incorrectly and is unusable. Completely unwilling to offer a replacement or refund. Really disappointing.

Great neighborhood cafe across from the Fashion and Textile Museum. Cozy vibes with good coffee and food. Has Wifi and is good for working if you like a bit of noise, but no laptops on the weekends!
