Dropped by this place by chance so didn't really know what to expect, but we were greeted by a friendly waiter called Ash who provided excellent service for the duration of - what turned out to be - a fantastic meal. The vegan options are unreal: the 3-in-1 vegan pancakes themselves were so good, as was the vegan bratwurst with maple syrup topping and the Buddha pancake. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but Ash made the visit extra special. Would heartily recommend.

I am such a fan of this location. The food is amazing though they could probably increase portion sizes by about 10-20%. Aside from that what keeps us coming back, in addition the amazing pancakes, is the awesome service. Anji, specifically, is a star! She is very attentive and always has a smiley attitude. What overall amazing waiting staff!

Great vegan options of the pancakes menu both for adults and kids. We had a toddler with us and got a high chair and a colour pencil case with an Easter colour sheet for our little one. It's was very busy! But we were seated quite quickly. We had to wait a bit for the food (at least when you have a toddler it seemed long) and my friend got served a non vegan dish by miatake, but they made up for it by giving her a free drink. The service was good. I especially liked the waitress who explained how some of the dishes could be made vegan and how the dish would change. The music was a bit loud and a lot of people talking in a small space makes noise, but lovely people we encountered there.

Despite a clear menu and an impressive range of pancakes, this restaurant ultimately disappoints. Charging extra for maple syrup—especially on £13–15 dishes—feels tone-deaf; a more customer-friendly approach would be to include it by default or the other way around. The long queue does not reflect quality: the kitchen is slow, and the pancakes lacked even golden color, betraying amateur preparation. Wine glasses arrived dusty, further detracting from the experience. While the concept is promising, execution and expectation management fall short. For the price, I expected much better—servers did their best but in the details that make a pancake house memorable.

The service and atmosphere are good. The pancake is special (sour and salty) not as expected. A bit disappointed as Pancake is their signature dis. The sides (bacon, berry, sausage) are good.

The service is very slow, and the smell of pork permeates the place. You say to them, “The eggs will come very cooked.” You say, “Give good news.” Then, they come a quarter cooked, and they tell you that they are not cooked at all. This is the highest level of doneness. The salmon, they say, “smoky” or “smoky,” is raw. An experience that is never worth repeating.

Great pancakes. Too bad they removed the one with poached pear and replaced it with poached pineapple. The latter is still very good but hoping the pear will reappear as well :) Great staff.

Nice pancakes but fairly average selection! Nice atmosphere both inside and outside however, our plates were taken away whilst our friend was still eating which made the experience feel rushed. We were also sat outside despite booking and the heat lamp we were under wasn’t working so it got a bit cold!

Good service but the pancakes were terrible. They had a salty flavour and the bacon was the wrong type of bacon for pancakes. It was a thicker type of streaky bacon that was hard and chewy like leather. The sausages were overcooked and cold. Coffee was also mediocre and the orange juice tasted sour like orange peel. It was really loud inside the cafe. Really sad as I was looking forward to it, but was a terrible experience:(

So disappointing. I've been to their Fitzrovia branch for the same Hummingbird Pancakes and they were stunning. Here, the pancakes tasted salty, undercooked and just rubbish to be honest. Toppings were sparse, and it tasted bland. Service was also poor, not checked on, no bill brought after waiting and requesting. Went inside to pay after getting tired of waiting and was still stood around waiting for 5/10 mins whilst they were having chats in the kitchen. For £15.50 for two damn pancakes, this is the epitome of a London ripoff.

The food was ok, nothing bad, nothing special. The service however… I can honestly say it was the worst of my life. If you're reading this, grab some popcorn and enjoy the story: 1. We book a table for 4 people. Turns out we’re 5. Instead of just adding a chair, they make us wait and give us a table to share with another group of 5. Fine, no big deal, the weather was good and we were happy. 2. We order food for everyone + a pitcher of mimosa (remember that for later). All good. 3. After 45 minutes of waiting (and watching tables that arrived after us get their food first), we politely asked if our order could be sped up since some of us had a flight to catch. Reasonable, right? Well, not according to them. This is where it gets interesting. A waiter comes over just to inform us that we’ve actually been waiting exactly 42 minutes (not 45, excuse us for the miscalculation) and that we should be patient because other tables exist. Like… what? 😂 Why is he so fixated on the exact wait time? And since when is 42 minutes a fair wait for poached eggs? 4. He feels bad, apologises and promises that the mimosas (that we still didn’t get) would be on the house. 5. The food arrives after 50 minutes AND STILL NO MIMOSAS. So we kindly ask for it. 6. A waitress comes to tell us we never ordered the mimosas 😂 We tell her that we did, she argues but eventually re-orders it. 7. They finally get us the mimosas but it didnt make sense anymore because we ate all the food. 8. They still decide to add the mimosas on the bill, despite telling us they wouldn’t 😂😂😂😂 I don’t think I need to add anything else. If the staff enjoys arguing this much, maybe they should consider a career in politics instead. Worst service ever. And it's the first time I don't pay service fees

I went on pancake day as I wanted the hassle of making pancakes to be done for me. As expected it was busy but we didn’t mind waiting. Once seated we ordered our pancakes and drinks. I went for the simple pancakes with chocolate sauce. However upon eating them they tasted quite sour. As if one of the ingredients had gone off. I can understand it is probably one of the busiest days for them but the taste really lacked. Due to how rushed off their feet the staff were I didn’t mention it (they also didn’t do a check back on our table anyways). So in the end I didn’t eat the pancakes but paid through the QR and left.

Decent pancakes, they are spenny but it’s central London so to be expected. Found it SO hard to get the staff’s attention, wasn’t even able to order a drink until we’d been sat at the table for 30 mins. Given how popular it is and how many poor sods were waiting outside in the cold because we were on the table ages due to waiting ages to order, the staff would be best taking drinks and food orders 5-10 mins after seating guests or giving guests a buzzer/bell to get attention because it took someone from our table physically standing up and walking over to the coffee bar bit to be able to order drinks. I notice I’m not the only reviewer to observe this. The management need to hire more wait staff for busy weekend times.

Located away from the hustle and bustle, we opted for breakfast outside: blankets and heating lamps make this possible even in February. Cappuccino and latte have us over. Monsieur took an English brekkie, happy to have quality products, in particular the slow cooked beans 🫘 which really make the difference, with the superb buttermilk pancakes which are as soft as possible. I opted for an Australian brekkie because I'm obsessed with avocado 😬 the "pancake" is polenta with corn kernels, fresh avocado, the crème fraîche is oat (and perfect), rocket salad with a SUPERB candied lemon oil. I enjoyed myself. Served by Goran who knew how to combine friendliness and efficiency. In short, an address that is worth the detour.

A lovely place tucked away a short trip away from London Bridge station. We went for brunch, I had the full English and my friend had the pulled pork. Big positives was proper maple syrup and the egg was magnificent. Definitely worth while stopping by if you are after a place to eat.

Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting outside in the cold for 20-25 minutes, which was particularly frustrating as we had a baby with us. The explanation given was that your ordering system was down, but this was so poorly managed, and no effort was made to accommodate us more comfortably during the wait. When we were finally seated, the only option was at an elongated bar-style table that was not suitable for our group size nor was it easy to talk to each other at all! The space of the entire restaurant is super small too. FYI for anyone bringing kids or large parties. While the food was great, the overall service was terrible. When it came time to pay, we were THEN informed that your payment system was down, and we would need to either transfer the money via bank transfer or pay in cash. This was incredibly inconvenient, particularly as no prior warning was given about the issue when we were seated! To make matters worse, the staff member we spoke to about this was unnecessarily rude when we questioned why we hadn’t been informed earlier and was extremely condescending on why we don’t have cash?! Despite her having five iPads visibly in the front of her, none of them were charged or functioning, which came across as highly unprofessional. When we requested an invoice or payment link as a solution, this was also declined. We go to the Battersea branch once in a while and service is usually good so we decided to try this branch. Our whole group left feeling so awkward and uncomfortable in the situation!

I had a really disappointing visit at the London Bridge branch at the weekend. The venue is very, very small! We arrived on time, for our table booking, but unfortunately it was not ready yet. There was no space to wait inside, due to being very small, so we had to wait outside. This probably wouldn't have been a huge issue, but of course the weather was cold and it was raining. Once we were sat down, we weren't rushed to put in our food order, which gave us a chance to chat away. Once ordered, the food arrived quickly. We all enjoyed our meals, having the big breakfast pancakes and two sweet options. Unfortunately, we wanted to order extra drinks and some more food, but we were unable to get the staffs attention. It felt like once we'd had our food, that was it! As we were with friends, we kept chatting away, but kept our eyes out to catch one of the team. By the time we'd finished, the venue was much quieter, with lots of tables empty. We'd waited around 20mins and then decided it was best to get the bill and head off somewhere else for food and drinks. It would probably not be my first choice of their three locations to return to.

I ordered regular buttermilk pancakes with poached pear, miso caramel, roasted almonds, house cream, lemon zest and thyme and it was just absolutely dreamy. Perfect portion size and combination of flavours, my only complaint being the price and the fact that the miso caramel tasted just like salted caramel. But I love that too, so it’s just a small “issue”. The pancakes came out quickly, I was seated easily, the atmosphere was fun (because everyone was enjoying delicious pancakes of course) and my server was lovely.

The pancakes are definitely good. But the staff is unspeakable. Not attentive to intolerances (gluten-free - gluten free - celiac disease). The waitress who took the orders got the order wrong (we ended up with a much more expensive order) and was not attentive to food intolerances, despite having asked several times what they were. The waitress who brought the dishes did not indicate the gluten-free dish. My girlfriend felt sick a few hours later, vomiting everything. When we went to pay, due to the many errors of the staff we found a bill equal to double what we had ordered. Also, you can't pay in cash and our credit cards didn't work after at least four attempts (we've been in London for 6 days, never had a problem paying by card). The only positive note was the manager who realized the situation and allowed us to resolve it. VERY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GLUTEN FREE

Cute pancake place offering interesting dishes. I had the hummingbird pancakes (sweet) and they were good, not the best pancakes i ever had but decent enough. The matcha however was the worst thing, not well whisked, super bitter and tasted a bit of spinach, couldn't drink it all and also served in a smallish glass, which in this case was irrelevant. All in all i had higher expectations for the pancakes but i would'nt not recommend it

Had high hopes, but not sure where all the good reviews come from - maybe it was a bad day! No exaggeration, waited 40+ minutes for our pancakes. Sadly, I can’t recommend the vegan pancakes - very average. Also as a slightly picky point, not sure why we served fridge cold avocado spread on my warm pancakes.

We visited on Sunday, 24th November 2024, and faced several issues. Despite requesting a callback about booking availability (which we didn’t receive), we tried to walk in. After waiting in line for about an hour, we noticed that about 30% of the tables were empty. However, the staff appeared disorganised, with some standing idle instead of managing seating or clearing tables. Once seated, it took another 15–20 minutes for our order to be taken, followed by a 25–30 minute wait for the food. The American pancakes we ordered were disappointing—dry, undercooked, and had a strange chemical taste, possibly linked to kitchen technical issues that were flagged to us. However, the pear and miso pancakes were enjoyable. We appreciated not being charged for the uneaten pancakes, but the overall experience was overshadowed by inefficiency and long waits. The restaurant concept and sweet pancakes show promise, but the lack of organisation and poor customer experience—especially while waiting + sitting outside on a windy day—make it difficult to recommend without improvements.

Very good choice for a breakfast! Many vegetarian options and catered to meat lovers as well! Staff is very friendly, fast with service, and accommodating to allergies. Would recommend if you want a light breakfast, or to fill up for the day!

The food was good and I liked that I could scan, order, and pay from my table. I do wish that the staff interacted a bit more.

Called up to check if they have vegan chocolate sauce, they said yes only for us to make our way here and be told it’s not vegan. Nice atmosphere and nice staff but really inconvenienced our day

This place was a big letdown..! The pancakes, which took a lifetime to arrive, were average at best. They were eggy and not particularly fluffy. Honestly, I've made much better myself at home. All in all, a below average experience, and I wouldn't return.

If you get there for an early lunch, this place is an oasis from the heaving crowds at Borough Market. Chill at the cool dark ground floor tables or up above on the terrace overlooking the market. The wine list is good with nice options available by the glass. The food was charcuterie and sophisticated tapas-style plates of very high quality - I had two plates around £12-14 each and both were exceptional. There were also a few slightly more robust daily specials available. The staff were all very friendly and happy to discuss the menu in detail. This is the nicest place I have found in a while - I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it.

Chapter 72 is one of my favorite finds in London. The coffee is excellent—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. I had a piccolo that was perfectly balanced. What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It’s cozy without being cramped, with a warm, rustic interior that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. In the evenings, it transforms into a cocktail bar, and their espresso martini is easily one of the best I’ve had in the city—strong, not too sweet, and really well crafted. The staff are friendly and passionate about what they do, and you can tell they care about both the drinks and the customer experience. Whether you're stopping in for a quiet morning coffee or looking for a relaxed place for cocktails in the evening, Chapter 72 delivers. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Bermondsey area.

My neighbourhood pub - they do literally everything from scratch, except maybe the burger brioche and their oven baked pizzas, Bloody Mary and generally desserts are lovely. Their Sunday roasts are so delicious! Though I wish there is an option for wine glasses too instead of the standard tumblers.
