Great wine, great food. Gabriele was our server and he was outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, informative, and a perfect combination of being there at the right time, but also not too much. He should be running his own bar in a few years! Bar and kitchen staff were really friendly and overall the experience was highly recommended!

Lovely evening. The lady hostess sat us outside downside and when we said it wasn't ideal, she said she. would do her best to sit us upstairs on the terrace.She looked after us brilliantly, found us a table upstairs and was a brilliant hostess.

Celebrated a birthday with 5 friends. It’s been a long-standing place to celebrate and enjoy wine at for many years. Alway happy to return to.

As wine lovers we selected this venue for its extensive wine list, which appeared to align with our preferences. Despite the higher-than-average pricing compared to other London and West End establishments, we felt confident in our choice. Upon arrival, we ordered a bottle of Sforzato Valtellina Fay Ronco Del Picchio 2018 at £130 as listed on the menu. However, when the wine was served, we didn’t immediately notice that the bottle served was from the 2021 vintage. It wasn’t until after a few sips that we realized we were drinking a significantly younger wine. Serving a wine vintage different from what was ordered is not only misleading but also unacceptable, especially when ordering a finer wines like the 2018 vintage. Despite this, we didn’t raise a complaint at the time. We proceeded to order a second bottle, Vega Sicilia Pinta 2018 priced at £190, and enjoyed a selection of dishes. Our total bill for three people came to £400. Due to some confusion around the bill (one of our friends secretly paid it), we left the venue without seeing the final breakdown. Upon reviewing the charges, we noted that the Sforzato Valtellina Fay Ronco Del Picchio 2021 was charged at £130, as same as 2018 on the menu. For wine lovers, the difference in vintage is significant, and the experience didn’t reflect the standard we expected.Additionally, charging the same price for much younger wine that was not ordered and does not reflect the value of the older vintage is not only unfair but also a violation of Consumers Act 2015, which entitles consumers that much description. We followed up the next day with an email to request a copy of the bill for clarification, but we have yet to receive a response. Based on this lack of follow-up, we will not be returning to this venue in the future neither would recommend it. We believe there is a need for better training in how to handle wine orders and ensuring that customers are informed about any discrepancies before their wine is served.

Used to be a 4 stars and downgraded to 3 stars following a recent visit. Firstly, prices have hugely increased -we had 3 tiny anchovies (very nice, smoked) for £7.5 and that's taking the mickey ; wines really start around £50. Second, the wine selection isn't as eclectic or good value as before –it feels less curated and not as interesting. Still a nice wine and tapas bar, really nice and helpful staff. Oh, and by the way, don't think they have their competition where you got a free drink if you guessed the mystery wine of the day?

Really cool terrace with heaters overlooking Borough market. Huge wine list although majority in the £60+ bracket. We had the house which was £35 but very drinkable. Side of potatoes as we were peckish but had a dinner reservation after. Potatoes were good but needed salt. Cheap mayo loses a mark when you’re paying that much for wine 😮‍💨 nice vibe and food menu looked good though would be nice to see a few more £40 ish wines

Came in here for a pre drink before a birthday dinner - really enjoyed the experience with the staff, they were very helpful and friendly but I felt like the food was a little bit over priced. I know it's a popular area of London but I would love to see places increase their portion sizes if they are charging more!!

Staff are always lovely but tonight especially so.. tonight was an evening to relax and recover but we initially talked about going to the bunch of grapes for my benefit but no table so we headed here which to intimidate me but as I said lovely staff! We were given a table for an hour . Seen as we'd agreed a pint that seemed OK but then we were ordering a bottle of wine.. lovely ..and food..yum.. as its my friends fave we have eaten here before but the dishes we order- the prawns and croquettes- seemed different and so the reason for it not being a 5, previously ok value but less so this time.. the cheese and bread was yum though Thank you lovely lewisham boy .. sorry Still waiting for her to give me your name; helpful and patient, thank you and to your lovely colleague who gave us the space in the first place..she knows her tables

I enjoyed several hours at Bedales yesterday evening with a friend of mine. It's such a nice place to go. The food is lovely, the wine selection is great and the team are super. Our waiter Alex was super. Really professional and knowledgable, but also a real joy to chat to. All round, everything is very very good. Thanks for a lovely evening. We'll be back.

Lovely setting , wine and service

I was looking forward to doing the self wine tasting experience with a friend but on arrival told that they no longer did this even though I booked it via the website. The food was delicious and so was the wine. We found we had to get the staffs attention to take our order each time. It was a nice place but I had higher expectations so I was disappointed.

Had a brilliant time here - very reasonably priced excellent wine (we recommend the ‘Laissez Faire’ Western Australian Syrah) and delicious nibbles. Alex our waiter/sommelier was really on the ball with great recommendations - would definitely recommend!

We went here for some girl's night drinks and nibbles, and the staff could not have been more accommodating: they caught wind of us ogling our friend's new jewellery (she'd just got engaged) and they kindly brought over some glasses of complementary champagne. Alex, our server, was so helpful and patient and friendly, even sharing some tidbids about planning his own wedding next year (good luck with it all Alex!). They had originally put us down for an early booking, to allow the table to be turned for later diners, but rearranged the seating bookings to allow us to stay put and celebrate a little longer. The wine was also delicious, as were the padron peppers. We will come again!

I liked this place. K and I had a bottle of Furmint, which is a dry white wine from Hungary that is made from the same grape used for making Tokay dessert wine. We first had Furmint in Budapest a few years ago. We shared a plate of 5 different cheeses. Excellent. Think it is part of a chain. But they do things well.

Lovely bar, great service and delicious wine but the downstairs is very noisy and it's hard to hear. The seats upstairs overlooking the market are much better.

Ground floor inside cold, entrance door kept being left open with a strong draft. Why isn’t it on a door closer or have a heat blower fitted.

We were a small corporate group requiring somewhere for semi-private drinks before an event nearby. We were well looked after before the event with good communication, and also on the evening by Francesco and his team. Our guests were all impressed and the place itself has a great ambience.

Excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. I showed up too late for the kitchen but Alex got me some olives and almonds anyway - I couldn't rate this any higher.

Spent +1hr waiting and nothing about my food (one Burrata & grilled Artichokes), while all the tables (which arrived after me) received their order… No reasonable justification was given. So i just left Really disappointed, once the place looks very nice… wast of time.

A real gem nestled in the middle of Borough Market! This tapas bar clearly stands out from all the street food that surrounds it. The cuisine is full of flavors, with well-crafted tapas. The service is just as remarkable: welcoming, attentive, and always good advice to accompany the dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and really invites you to take your time, a pleasant contrast with the bustle of the market. Value for money. I recommend for a moment of taste relaxation in the heart of London.

Not the first time I've visited this bar and won't be the last. A lovely cosy and intimate atmosphere. The staff are lovely and our waiter Alex was attentive and knowledgeable with wine recommendations. His suggestion for red wine was something I'd not consider normally, but trust in him paid off!

Stellar wine list. Nice, cozy ambiance. Highly recommend a seat on the terrace to watch the market go by. Food whilst undoubtedly good quality is rather expensive for the portion size. Better for snacks than a full on meal.

Came here with my friend on Friday evening and had an amazing night. The wine was delicious and the small plates were so tasty, smoked burrata is a wonderful thing! As well as the food and drink being delicious, I found the service to be some of the best I’ve had in London. Our server Bee was absolutely brilliant; kind, caring and attentive. Bee made sure our glasses were topped up and helped with food recommendations as well as being chatty and engaged. Would definitely visit again and hopefully Bee will be there to look after us again!

Caminé en busca de un respiro de un mercado del condado - wow que gran hallazgo. Sólo tomé una copa de vino y dos platos pequeños. El personal nos trató como si hubiéramos pedido una comida de cinco platos. Absolutamente delicioso vino y comida. Perfecto para un almuerzo rápido en un viernes ocupado, especialmente cuando es recibido por un personal tan encantador.

Service was great, unfortunately we picked incorrectly for the seating; outside whilst they were cleaning down borough market - smelly, noisy dusty. Wine was recommended and lovely, glasses were dusty unfortunately. Probably wouldn’t rush back.

The place looks beautiful, the staff is extremely kind and the churros were absoluteley ASTONISHING! I had'nt had better churros when i was in Spain. 10/10 would recommend.

We arrived without a booking and were seated at the back in the market. They were cleaning the market, so it was very loud with trucks, workers and rubbish bins moving around - not the nicest vibe. I asked if we could have a table inside but there weren't any available, which is fine. The waiter then came over and said something to us - which we could barely understand because it was so noisy. I thought he was asking about our dietaries, I said "no dietaries for us two but we are waiting on one more person" to which he replied "well yes obviously that's why I said 3 people." ????????? No need to be rude when we can barely hear you due to the fact you've set your wine bar's courtyard up in what appears to be a trash yard from 5pm. The combo of rude service + not being able to hear each other was enough to make us leave before we ordered anything.

Absolutely fabulous!! I arrived at Bedales on my own. I asked for a table on the terrace, which is great for watching the bustle of the market below. This was no trouble, even they were yet to open it. I was even asked if they could assist me up the stairs, as I had my walking stick (very considerate). This was the first time in a while I was child free, so I wanted to sit with a glass of wine and decided upon pairing it with a cheese board. Alex suggested a fine pairing and I was not disappointed. My water glass was filled as I drank it. The service was accessible but not interfering. A splendid afternoon with fabulous food, drinks and service. My husband and I always come here if we are in London and today did not disappoint!!! Thank you Alex and the team.
