Utilized the Amex program’s recommendations and I’m glad we did. We had a beautiful suite on the 47th floor overlooking the tower bridge. The service is second to none, the facilities are impeccably maintained, and the family appreciated the hosts’ consideration of little gifts in the room for the kids etc. If you can swing it, it’s worth the expense.

Our stay at Shangri-La The Shard was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch, starting with the warm and welcoming doormen all the way to the attentive housekeeping staff. Every detail was taken care of with thoughtfulness and care. The highlight of our stay was definitely the room — the views were absolutely breathtaking, easily the most incredible I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. Waking up to panoramic views of London was unforgettable. To make the experience even more special, the staff went above and beyond to celebrate my birthday, adding personal touches that truly made the trip one to remember. The level of detail and care in everything they did showed how much they value their guests. I can’t wait to return for another amazing stay!

We stayed here to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. The rooms were great and view was amazing. Only negative was when we checked out we had been billed for dinner at Ting restaurant. We went to an external restaurant for dinner so certainly wasn't us. Very surprised at that given the name on the reservation should be checked against the room number when signing to room! It was removed from the bill but should never of happened at a nearly £800 a night hotel.

If you love adventure, if you don't fit into a neat little box, then The Shard is for you. Emerson said "It is not the length of life, but the depth." He must have stayed at The Shard! It makes sense for the Shangri-La London to be in the Shard, high above the rest, as they seem peerless among the other London Hotels. The client experience was thoughtful and engaged, from greeting to departure. The rooms are sizable and extremely modern. The gym facility was brand new (though it does get a bit crowded at peak hours, so consider when you plan to go). Throughout the stay the client team provided little treats to the room, making a guest feel welcome. The room and the hotel were meticulously cleaned. Best of all was the view, absolutely breathtaking, a refreshing and energizing experience each morning and evening to look out!

My daughter and I dived into Lang having spent most of the day doing the tourist bit in Borough Market and surrounding area and wearing ourselves out in the process. To be honest I expected everything to be hugely expensive but as we were celebrating her birthday I tried not to let that worry me too much and we ordered fizz and cakes as a little treat before setting off on yet more hiking round the sights. In the end we were so chilled and relaxed we stayed for over an hour watching the world around the Shard and just enjoying the very relaxed and "easy" atmosphere. When we got the bill i was pleasantly surprised at the fact that I wasn't going to need a mortgage and consequently I'd definitely go back!

Lang is a place where I go quite often as my parter works at the Shard. It is a very small cafe, with a slightly luxurious (and therefore expensive) menu full of delicious macaroons, cakes, coffees etc.I tend to go there and wait a few minutes until my parter is done. However, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who's looking for a nice cafe or a great experience.I'll leave as if it was a luxury starbucks, but one of the small ones. The food is great so I think it's worth the price but the place is quite small and the first time I was quite frustrated. There's no jaw falling involved, which is quite different than the other restaurants and bars from the Hotel and Shard in general.Ps: it's in the groundfloor so don't expect amazing views aside from people walking towards the station.

My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Shangri-la and made a point of visiting as many of the attractions in the area as we could. We like to stop for pastries from time to time at various places. The Lang is supposed to be just such a place. Somewhere to stop and relax with good pastries and a coffee. They serve other items too so you can get a snack other than a pastry. Unfortunately I was disappointed as I have yet to get my pastry. I got the bill for it and had to wait while my wife dealt with the adjustment. I would much prefer to pay and tip. On this occasion we didn't even have a chance to call anyone for help as they were busy in conversation with other clients especially the take out service. I must add that the service at the Shangri-la was impeccable. This should have extended to the Lang. One star lost for poor service. The second one was because I felt they did not have a very wide selection of pastries. My next stop was the nearby farmers market for a pastry.

Brilliant views of Tower Bridge and St Pauls the restaurant, as expected, completely surrounded by glass. There was a good choice menu and the food looked good and tasted good. The service was first class. One drawback was the pricing tariff which to me was even expensive for London prices. I therefore would recommend for those on normal salaries to treat this as a sightseeing, wonderful adventure. For the wealthy of the south then it comes highly recommended if you wish to impress.

Called in here after the View at the Shard for a quick sandwich. Bit of a slow start as we obviously had forgotten to take off our invisibility cloaks but once we got a table it got better. We had intended on just a lite lunch but made the mistake of not ordering something to share so got more than we expected A Cheese and ham toasted sandwich and a chicken baguette left no room for cake! Delicious hot chocolate and reasonably priced as well.

Outstanding views from a wonderful restaurant. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable of menu and wines? All the food was exceptional and beautifully presented. We went with menu which included the wine chosen for you with each course, all of which was exceptional. This was a surprise treat from my wife and thourghly enjoyed.

I was visiting the (outrages expensive) Shard Tower Visitor Platform (79 Pound Sterling for 2 adults +1 Kid....) . After the tour I went to the LANG Bistro at the Ground Floor at the Shard Shangri-La Hotel Lobby - quick bite, good food, exceptional friendly & good service (Mr. Atiqur) - this is not always the case in London. So worth mentioning it!

4 of us visited here for a client lunch and we just wanted a casual place to eat that was still classy. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was divine whilst the others had sandwiches. The doughnuts were also amazing having honeycomb filling which was mouth-wateringly good. The iced tea was also very tasty and the bill was cheap considering we were at the Shard. I would definitely return here for lunches.

The pastries are delightful and brilliantly prepared in this elegantly furnished place. The service is very welcoming. I loved the scones and the tea selection is amazing.

I went to the shard for afternoon tea, on level 52 I think it was as part of the hotel at the shard. I was looking forward to this, the view i must say was amazing we went about 4pm and we could seen the sun set. We did not have a window seat but was offered one once one came available. Unfortunately the service and the food let it down. We seemed to wait a while for the afternoon tea to be served and the drinks to come once the waiter had taken the order. The food looked amazing but wasn't quite up to taste standard, of other afternoon teas I have previously tried. I did have high exception, but maybe thats where I went wrong. The afternoon tea was a festive one. If you want the amazing view it is worth the money but this is what you are saying for if you want a real london traditional afternoon tea then stick to the more high end ones.

Just tried to go to one of my favourite pit stops only to find no one there. A sign clearly says please wait to be seated and there are people in there (all doing what I want to do - having a drink), but no one showing me any attention at all. Uniforms walking past me like I am camouflaged under a magical cloaking device. Weird.

As you would expect from a venue of this clarity, it's not cheap! The atmosphere, stunning night time views and quality of the produce is well worth a visit.

Popped in for a cocktail and was also tempted by their macarons. Very tasty! Very friendly service and efficient too. Not too expensive either. The venue is fine but it is just a bit of space at the shard's entry. Will definitely return - the cakes look spectacular.

We had a very enjoyable evening last week for my birthday. The service was very good at the start and were very knowledgable however it then turned quite slow... possibly under staffed? This being said everyone was very friendly and even if it did take a while to come the drinks and cake were to die for. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

The cakes at this place are 'to die for'; exceptionally good, however, it seems to me that Lang was an afterthought because it's tucked-away in the corner as it it were some kind of embarrassment to the main hotel and it is far too cramped to be comfortable. They need to loose the plastic plants in the pots outside too as they add a level of tacky to an otherwise sharp and sleek hotel. Latte was lovely and served in a flask type cup, which was fortunate as it was not made hot enough in the first place.

We had lunch at the Aqua shard and it was a poor experience. As it was busy we had a table at the back and lost some of the view. Then the service was not great and we had to complain. We felt disappointed but from that moment on things changed around, as we now got looked after amazingly! People moved and delivered way above the first expectation and that saved a special day out. Thank you David for looking after us and turning this experience around!!!

We stopped on our way back from having done some shopping at London Bridge Borough Market and before heading home we decided to take a break and relax. This was our first time we notice this little cafe/restaurant and decided to have a try and really was an unexpected experience. The service was very good and efficient, our waitress was extremely cortius and nothing was a bother. My partner ordered a mushroom soup which was delicious, I had a warm smoked Salmon sandwich which was topped with caramelized onions and tomatoes and very enjoyable.Real tea leaves tea which not often you find, then a carrot and walnut cake which my partner said was very good but for me was a little stoggy.Lovely cloth napkins.Very nice and unusual decor and lovely atmosfereThe unisex toilet, very well appointed and spotless clean.Considering the standard of the place, service and the quality of the food we did not think it was expensive. We will definitely go back and I would recommend it.

Love this pub, has so much right but sadly the Sunday roasts are dead. Food took over an hour to come, it was rammed so that is what it is. When food did arrive, portion was small - £22 one piddely slice of Christmas Ham, hard as rock carrots, a little bit of cabbage, a ready made frozen Yorkshire (of the aunt Bessie’s variety) and a couple of roast potatoes. The quarter chicken, although nicely seasoned was tiny and had more bones than flesh. Food aside, everything else was bang on, just won’t be back for a roast anytime soon

After a misunderstanding at a previous visit, they have more than made up for the mistake by treating us to two free roasts plus dessert and drinks. Much appreciated and we will definitely be back! 😊

Chapter 72 is an absolute gem! I had an amazing experience here – the hospitality is unmatched, and the quality of their coffee and croissants is simply outstanding. Every bite and sip felt like pure bliss. Special shoutout to Hamii, who was incredibly kind and attentive, making the visit even more memorable. Very disappointing - we had two vegetarian diners in our group, and we had checked the menu online before booking our dinner. On arrival, the vegetarian main had been removed from the menu, leaving only the soup starter available. We enquired with the staff, and they informed us that soup was the only option. We had to go elsewhere - I understand unexpected circumstances can change menus, but it seems incredibly short sighted not to include a single vegetarian main on the menu in 2024, or even offer to speak to the kitchen to see if anything could be done.
