Great Friday evening at Walnut Tree, live music fabulous, very friendly Staff and well served good beer. Customers all enjoying themselves and interacting with each other, a welcoming bunch of folks. It's just great to find an old traditional pub like this servong and entertaining the locals. Highly recommended.

I had 2 barbique raps rom there absolutely beats any rap I've eaten before was very nice also salad was dressed and sides. 👌🤌

Very rude woman that works in here. Short lady in her 70s shoulder length hair. Was so rude to me and my family whilst we was parking. Barked at me that I'm taking to long to park and customers were complaining! I was in the car park for no more then a minute. Horrible person. Will not be going back nor will my friends and family.

Such a nice beer garden, lovely in sun. Refreshing drinks and amazing food, didn’t have to wait long at all for food. Friendly staff, overall nice pub.

Local town pub but with regular top flight comedy nights. Beers are good if they don't run out. Many famous comics started here and some died here, apparently.

What an awful experience last night, waited 30 mins to order, then waited a further 40 mins for a waitress to tell us our food was on its way, offered a complimentary drink to apologise but never got them, 10 mins later manager came over and said they had lost all power in the kitchen (but the lights were still on?) so we were getting no food? Unprofessional at best

Quaint little boozer with a lovely atmosphere

What a hidden gem! We have enjoyed a fabulous meal here today, we were sat in the 'Snug' which was perfect for a lovely private meal however walking in to the pub we were immediately greeted by the warm fire. The pub is cosy and we will definitely return if in the area again.

Friendly local pub with a good little beer garden that now has a large marquee in it to keep us warm, dry and socially distanced during these strange times! They look after their ales and even offer a camra discount.

My son entered his 1st open mic at this pub. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Great pub, great friendly atmosphere. A very homely open fire. Just a really good experience and we will be back.

Used a voucher purchased prior to visiting. Paid for my drinks before going in to eat. Food was tasty but a long wait between courses. Would like to be there is busy. When we received bill had to send it back twice for correction. Would I visit again - possibly.

A lovely pub with a great atmosphere on live band nights ( check with the pub for who is on and when). The pub is comfortable and cosy in the winter months but also has a garden for the better weather.

The comedy night shouldn't work but it just does. Great fun.

We were out for a Sunday drive but took the wrong turn and stopped in the car park to get our bearings. We then decided to pop in for a drink. Pleasantly surprised. A quintessential English pub, we were looked after so well, and stopped longer than we anticipated, in fact we stopped for the Sunday Carvery. How nice to see freshly cooked food, a great choice of meats, crispy roast potatoes like mum use to make. We are glad we got lost now and loved the puddings. We have booked ourselves a table in a couple of weeks and will return with friends.

My band Komeleon played the Jam Night here - very supportive and friendly people. Will definitely play there again.

Now this is what I call a proper traditional Pub!!Often driven past & wanted to visit - finally went last night with family to a Bob Dylan tribute night & had such a great evening! fab atmosphere & despite being very busy the bar staff were in terrific form (England also playing!!) so good friendly service too!You feel at home the minute you walk in the door & step over the dog lying stretched out on the floor! Ideally placed just outside Maidstone this is a pub you have to visit - intend to go to sample the pub menu very soon!Well worth a visit & can’t wait for the quiz night !!

I went there for lunch from work. The food was absolutely lovely! The place has a great atmosphere. Great little pub. I would highly recommend.

Nothing special really but has got nice live music events and sports tv so not bad for alone evenings 😉

I love this pub. Me and my boyfriend visit often and find the staff very friendly and welcoming. There is also a lovely feeling of being part of the family here, with the landlady being so friendly a warm. We always enjoy our evenings here and will return regularly

Met friends in the Walnut tree before going into Maidstone for a meal.This pub has a lovely atmosphere, the pub dog greets everyone as they come in.There is a good selection of local ales and plenty of choice for ciders, beers, wines and spirits.There was a lovely wood fire burning to warm the seating area, all in all a good place to meet for a drink.Local bands play weekly and they have a good lineup for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Asked if my dog (On lead) was welcome in garden. She was fine until the resident dogs were let out. Made to feel very unwelcome by the landlady. Found a much better pub up the road. Won't return.

A very much standard pub. A little old fashioned but the staff are nice and it's usually quite quiet so no queues! It has an open fire and a TV. Dogs welcome.

Very friendly - good food; simple yet well cooked.

We were staying nearby for one night and called in for something to eat and drink. Our bar meal was very nice and the pub was small but very nice, the two resident dogs we saw were adorable

After reading these two reviews I felt compelled to agree and submit a review. I visited on at least two Thursday evenings to watch the comedy. I noticed that the landlady was very rude with customers, who in all honesty were making No Noise whatsoever!! She looks down her nose at everyone!! Heaven knows how she found herself in this industry, she should work in a Library!!
