It's my nearest pub although I'm not a regular. Have to say the food was great, service excellent and the place buzzed and was very friendly. Definitely going again. And again.

Having arrived to meet friends I was warmly greeted by the staff. I soo realised a Wake was about to start and I did wonder if, due to the amount of people attending we would have a problem as one of my party was on a time limit. I need not have worried. Every table in the bar (inc us)was served efficiently and the bar staff were very good at keeping everyone well catered for. Our meals arrived in good time and one of my friends commented it was "one of the best jacket potatoes" she'd ever had with chilli. All in all considering the amount of people catered for they coped amazingly. Kath informed me that they strive to keep their regulars/repeat visitors catered for.

Excellent service and food was great. Had sea bass and it was superb. Thank you again for a good meal and evening. Visited again and was slightly disappointed by the service this time. Had the hunters chicken which was overcooked and very dry so needed the sauce and some of the larger chunky chips were a little undercooked. Lemon roulade however was excellent but don't serve fresh cream in a hot jug.

Genuinely pleased, came for dinner on a Saturday evening, booked and on arrival were shown to our table, our waitress Bella, excellent, the food excellent, ordered the house stack burger and on arrival was actually a proper burger and chunky chips that was delicious, will be back.

A very pleasant midweek lunch with friends. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and professional. As the 'nominated driver' I was impressed by the range of non-alcoholic drinks.

Recently held a Family wake at the Kings Head and would definitely recommend it. The staff (headed up by Adam) were so very friendly, helpful and thoughtful and looked after our every need. Good choice of buffet food which came out lovely and hot. Huge thanks to Kath for helping in the planning stages; to the chefs and to Adam and the bar staff. They all made a difficult day that much easier.

Popped in for meal with a nice small table by the fire. The food was excellent as always and we were served by the lovely Heidi. All in all a nice time.

Just drink the pint with a friend.

Hearty congratulations to all at our local boozer - The Kings Head in Staplehurst. Our family Christmas meal yesterday was amazing. The food was plentiful, superbly cooked and beautifully presented (cheers Yanik). Service from Adam and the fantastic bar staff was excellent and the atmosphere among our friends and other customers was warm and friendly, as expected. We are lucky to have such an outstanding pub in our village. Neil and Sue Foreman.

I am new to the village and this was my first meal at my new local. I took all the family, 11 of us for our Christmas get together. We enjoyed a great meal with fabulous service. The portions were very generous with a good selection of vegetables. Great value for money. Thank you to all the staff.

We went for a Christmas lunch yesterday. Found out after we had ordered that there was a separate Christmas menu which had not been mentioned to us. The portions were small and the food overall very overpriced and not good value for money. One of the guests were rude to me simply because I wanted to pull the curtain slightly because the sun was in my eyes! The service was functional but the hospitality was not hospitable. We’re very disappointed as we are local and won’t be returning.

Went in for a couple of drinks and to watch the footy and find out about the area as I only just moved into the area and the staff were all friendly and willing to help and they even managed to fit us in for dinner that same Saturday night at short notice. Would highly recommend the pub and restaurant.

Had a really nice bar snack - ham and cheese baguette. Maybe a little more expensive than we were used to pre pandemic but it was big enough to be a full meal. Good helpings of tasty cheddar and ham with lots of chips and coleslaw. The staff are always helpful and the food is always tray and plentiful

Very hospitable pub with great food

Lovely pub with great service and good food. We went on a Sunday and it was busy but not noisy in the restaurant. There is a lovely wood burner which made it feel cosy. Definitely recommend this pub.

The venue was comfortable and spacious the staff were helpful and the food was excellent no complaints I would recommend to family and friends I shall be making a return visit in the near future.

Don't bother. We popped in after remembrance day parade. Only stayed for 1 .A member of staff was so rude and ignorant. My wife tried to ask a question and he looked straight through her and ignored her. That's the first and last time I will go in there

Have eaten here a few times now and find the food and service excellent. Has the feel of a local traditional pub, which is rare these days. Will certainly be going again. Very friendly staff too.

This traditional family village pub is one of the best in the area. Great outside area with plenty of seating. Really good menu. I had a burger but you are spoilt for choice. Local ales, fruitie, pool table and tv showing footie, etc. Recommended.

We met family for dinner here whilst holidaying in the area. The pub is clean and tidy and the service was quick and friendly. My partner had a very good halluomi burger with the most enormous piece of halluomi. He also had chunky chips, coleslaw, all for £14.95, he said was lovely. My step-mum had an amazing ploughman's which was enormous with a baguette, plenty of cheese, coleslaw, pickle and salad, £13.95. My step-sister had the hunter's chicken with chunky chips, £15.95 which she said was also very good. I had the falafel and mushroom espetada, a kebab. The falafel were rock hard as they had been overcooked and the mushrooms were bland. The fries were nice but the salad was small with huge chunks of onion. I felt a bit cheated as this dish was nearly £17 and I had less food than everyone else. I'd recommend all the dishes we had except the espetada.

Just had a lovely well cooked meal here it was our first visit and we're very happy with the cleanliness, service of the staff all in all would definitely recommend

Lovely food friendly atmosphere service a little slow but I guess it was busy outside. Only let down we were never offered deserts so can’t comment on those.

Fabulous meal last night. The menu has some new items and we all enjoyed these. Everything cooked to perfection. the prawn and salmon timbale was delicous as was the chicken souvalki. Our friends were equally impressed with the haddock dish. Finally the creme brulee for me was the icing on the cake

Another lovely Sunday Lunch, tender lamb and lovely fresh vegetables. Sticky Toffee pudding and custard perfect. Ate late about 5pm and was still delicious.

This is a great pub if you want a casual pint or a nice meal with the family, cannot fault this place!

What a lovely pub in the heart of Staplehurst. I was there for a 'wake' however, the food was really good especially those hot sausage rolls.

The pub was built in 1671, it's written in the brickwork. Good beer and good service.

Good food and drinks. Kids were happy. It's dog friendly. There was a real mix of customers which was nice to see. With the pool table, tellys for sports and the dining areas it's a great asset to the village.

Service was poor and our party would have enjoyed the atmosphere if there had been one. Perhaps the lack of customers is a reflection on the jacked up prices.

Lovely Roast half chicken dinner with roast potatoes, parsnip, stuffing, gravy, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower cheese. I left full and satisfied. Staff very nice too and service good. Will come again :-)
