Amazing cafe! What more to add... Great coffee, great dishes, reasonably priced! Would definitely step by when in the area!

Would give 6 if could, staff very friendly, food was prefect. To top it off they offered a money off the bill and free cake as compensation for my jacket potato being a tiny bit cold. Would 100% recommend!

Very friendly staff, food en point. They went above and beyond with service and even threw in an unexpected cake as my jacket potato wasn't quite hot enough for my liking. Will come again more often

Totally confusing and unwelcoming car parking signage, not very clear at all which car park belongs to the Birdcage. I visited many years ago, but now the plastic foliage in the outside area looks rather tired and dirty, it could do with a freshen up, but nice food and good service

Charming, rustic and well laid out cafe serving a wide variety of drinks, food items and cakes. Lovely seating throughout the inside and out, well situated. Accessible with clean toilets. Menu items are generally well priced and service is good with takeaway options. Highly recommended, literally the only complaint I can think of is their milkshakes are on the small size for something advertised as 'large' 😅

It’s really nice here. The food is good value, the service is great and there’s a lovely atmosphere too. If you like cake this is the place for you 🍰

My first time visiting here, don't know why I left it so long. Beautiful gem of a place tucked away. Fabulous decor, great staff all friendly and polite. Popped in for a latte and slice of cake which was huge and very delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again

Afternoon tea was great! There was vegan options for our friends too. Fair warning: It'll have to be booked in advance. The staff were lovely and helpful. There's a play ground near it, a great spot to take your kids.

My first experience was not as expected from all the reviews. The coffee was good and the food just okay but the cleanliness and clearing of tables was disappointing. Post our visit we have also been landed with an over the top fine for using the adjacent car park. Complete rip off and damaging for business.

I had jacket potato with butter and chilli con carne with cheese and sour cream and a lovely salad and biscoff cheesecake was delicious, nice portions and staff very friendly, definitely coming back

Had breakfast recently in the vintage birdcage cakery yate and we were very disappointed has we had high expectations. The plate was cold and thus the food wasn't very warm, with cherry tomatoes instead of on the vine, 3 tiny potatoes and what looked like supermarket sliced bread instead of traditional crusty bread . Arrived 9.15 am and the place was empty and still very empty when we left.

Sorry but this once lovely cafe has been ruined by the deafening music coming from the kitchen. Thump, thump, thump. The quiet little courtyard is quiet no more as the music is all pervading. My jacket potato was stone cold and inedible. I was asked if my meal was ok but he turned on his heels before I could respond. Job done.

Really nice little place. Only had a coffee so can't comment on food - other than the fact the cakes look amazing! Parking isn't great but free if you register being there on the ipad at the entrance to the order area. Staff are great, polite and bring order to table. Will be back

A beautiful Mothers Day afternoon tea 🩷 Booked monthsssss in advance as the afternoon tea here is very popular, and now I understand why. Absolutely everything served was incredible. So fresh, insane portions and delicious. One of those meals that won't be forgotten about anytime soon 😍 The service was not good, which was a shame, but the food made up for it. Also some music (for atmosphere) in the upstairs seating area wouldn't have gone a miss 😂 Visited in March 2024

Absolutely outstanding in every way. A young team of staff and obviously have been well guided and trained 5☆service and with a smile. The food is absolutely delicious , and the great quality produce prepared cooked presentation faultless. The cakes and sweet treats are amazing. 5 ☆patisserie standard.

We just popped in for a quick brunch. The staff members were so lovely and welcoming, the food is very good quality and incredibly tasty, even our very fussy toddler demolished her plate. It's a very child and dog friendly place.

Great food, friendly service, reasonably priced.

Took my mum for lunch today for the first time. We were looked after by a lovely young lady called Emma and the service provided by her was first class. What a lovely, polite, kind and attentive young lady, every business dealing with the public needs an Emma working for them. We cannot praise her highly enough. The food was outstanding , absolutely delicious and lots of it. We had a latte each to start followed by jackets potatoes with salad and coleslaw. One had homemade coronation chicken and the other had homemade chilli with grated cheese. The desserts were just superb, blueberry cheesecake and a massive waffle with banana, honey and cinnamon with 2 large scoops of ice-cream 😋. This was our first visit and we are going back in 2 weeks for one of their amazing afternoons tea, we cannot wait.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The service was very quick though they were busy. There's 3 different spaces to sit in and the decor goes with the name. The coleslaw was really lovely and I thought the added description on the coffee was a lovely touch.

Wonderful cafe with great food and very friendly helpful staff. We took my elderly mother there with her walking trolley frame and they popped down a ramp to allow us inside. Thoroughly recommended for a full lunch or a lighter bite.

Visited the Vintage Birdcage yesterday for my mums birthday. We were promptly seated and it was disabled friendly for my mum who relies on a walking stick for her mobility. Emma was our waitress and was super friendly and engaging. There were a few minor hiccups in the kitchen but she kept us informed and always made sure we were happy, and had plenty to drink. The premises also provided my mum with a little cupcake for her birthday, on a board that spelled out "Happy Birthday" on, which was a lovely surprise for her! All in all, a fantastic day out and Emma was a superstar!!!!

The food was amazing as always. I had to get some cake to take home because why would you not. I wanted to acknowledge one of the staff members who I think was called Alesha (sorry if that isn’t how you spell it) she was running the outside seating and taking people to tables. By the time we’d finished the queue was huge and she was doing such a good job despite some people being a bit rude when told it was a 30 min wait for a table. She looked so calm and was serving everyone as quickly as she could, kept everyone updated on the seating situation. You did a really great job. She was really friendly as were the lady and gentleman behind the counter who gave us our cake, thank you! :)

My favourite place to eat in Yate! The staff are all super friendly, the cafe is clean and well decorated. The coffee and cakes are to die for!!!!!

Went here for breakfast. Given a table fast (even thought it was busy) and got our order in fairly fast too. Very nice decoration and the food was really good too.

What an amazing place. My sister, who has difficulty walking, and myself went for lunch today. The staff could not have been any more helpful. So friendly and efficient. They were very busy but the attention they gave to everyone was exceptional. Fantastic menu, difficult to choose. Had panini and it was delicious. Bought 2 cakes to take home for family and they are telling me to go again for more. Well done everyone, you deserve to be as busy as you are.

Absolutely beautiful and wonderful place here. My first visit and i enjoyed it from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food and cakes were delicious Good variety on the menu, with lots of choice of main meals, snacks and cakes. Drink selection was also good. Can't wait to visit again!

I went there with a friend for the first time, having two cups of coffee and cakes for £13.10 but got a £100 parking fine. Didn’t notice there was a parking machine when we paid for the food on the counter. It was my first time being fined as a client. Very disappointed to try this place as the cakes were not as good as I expected. And it took me lots of time later to sort out the parking fine. I appealed the Fine and presented the receipt but they still asked me to pay £20 for the parking for not putting my car details on their machine which I never noticed. Really unexpected poor experience and will never visit again. Be aware of the parking scam, I don't think the parking is customers friendly, and there was not enough notice in the shop to warn people.

Nice place to go for lunch and cake. But don't leave it too late in the afternoon as there wasn't much choice left of the nice cakes. There are outside sitting area's under cover and dogs welcome outside.

Great place for food, absolutely amazing venue and the food was outstanding. I have never received customer service like I have with Birdcage, we look forward to bringing the family back for another day

It's a nice place and staff are trying hard . I'm giving 4 stars as the eggs were well undercooked and admittedly it was chilly on Feb morning in their main room.

18th November, Went for Afternoon Tea, Absolutely amazing, Food was delicious, We took some home to enjoy later. Staff were very friendly and Service was very good, The whole experience was a lovely treat.

A beautiful cafe skillfully decorated shabby chic , warm fruit scones, clotted cram and tasty jam with a pot of tea, £4.50 what's not to like?

We had a really enjoyable breakfast at the vintage birdcage. The service was great, the food very nice and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

My parents took me here yesterday. Very impressed with the decor service food and price. Very popular and there may be a short wait. Highly recommended

The Food was freshly made, Cakes fresh all reasonably priced and the staff that served us were all very polite and friendly. A must place to visit again and again.

The staff are absolutely lovely! I've been to vintage many a time but this was the second time with my 2 year old and 4 month old. Juggling both can be a bit tricky and my 2 year old was desperate for the bathroom during our meal, one of the staff members watched our table for us. I find going out to eat daunting due to toilet training and having a little one but everyone was so helpful! Little things like placing hot drinks away from children (many places I've been haven't even considered it!) And taking our plates to give us room. Their food is fabulous and it's always been yummy and reasonably priced too!

Absolutely love this place I come with my friends almost every day! Child friendly and dog friendly, cakes are amazing and coffee is also. They also sell duck and swan feed in little packets to save feeding them bread (which doesn't have all the nutritional value they need).

We found this place on the internet. Really lovely. Good food range, paninis, sarnies, etc, staff friendly, lovely atmosphere. Definitely will be visiting again. Minimal parking was only downside

Jacket potato with chilli delicious and a good sized portion, coronation chicken sandwich was beautiful and the ham and cheese was really tasty nice pot of tea too I love this little place lovely staff cakes are delicious and the choice wide give it a try I know you will love it!!!!

Afternoon tea was amazing. Sandwiches very tasty. Cakes blew me away and scones clotted cream and jam. So many cakes, Huge tea pot, ended up taking 2 boxes of cakes home. Would deffo recommend and will be going back for sure. Thanks Annette

Just been to here manager's attitude was disappointing and not called for We were told it would be 30 minutes before food arrived as soon as it arrived The Manager came and told us we were told you it would be a 30 minutes wait and we never even said any thing. BAD and rude MANAGEMENT We Won't ever go there again Management response very bad and rude your showing your ture colours

Fantastic afternoon tea, the best I had, and I’ve had quite a few in prestigious venues, but none anywhere near as good as The Vintage Birdcage.

Thank you for the most amazing Afternoon Tea that we enjoyed today. My Sister traveled from Cornwall especially for it & my parents from Bradford on Avon we were all stuffed after. Your staff and food were absolutely brilliant thanks again x

We had the most amazing time at the Vintage Bird Cage! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the interior was absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff made sure to meet each guests individual needs (even gave the dog some doggy ice cream!); they went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. A variety of sweet delicious treats as well, I can't recommend it enough, and can't wait to visit again! 🤩

All I can say is WOW this place is something else. I have been twice for afternoon tea and it doesn’t disappoint, they give an amazing selection of savoury and sweet delights with a side of scones, jam and cream. It makes for an excellent birthday treat or similar and I’d recommend. The only downside is you have to book months in advance for obvious reasons. Brilliant place.

We had an afternoon tea here yesterday and it was absolutely brilliant! The food was incredible and staff were lovely. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon but nothing was too much for them. Particularly Rachel, who was so great with the little one we had in our group. We will be back!!

Went here, whilst visiting family in the area, who have previously been. It's a fantastic little place, very quaint, lovely atmosphere. The food and drink were just what we needed, delicious, well priced. Would visit again.

Fantastic café on the edge of the park. We're not local but found it on Google maps. Courtyard and indoor seating. Varied menu - sandwiches, baguettes, jacket pots and more, especially cakes. All freshly prepared with generous portions. Staff were all efficient, friendly, attentive and professional. Café seemed very popular, but still plenty of room between the tables. Lots of people getting take away cakes. We would definitely visit again. One of the best cafés we've been to.

Nice spot for some coffee and cake - I have had a slice of Victoria sponge from here before and to my liking it was rather dry but decided to visit anyway. Coffee was delicious and so was the caramel brownie. Cherry bakewell was to die for, the only issue I’ve had with it was a thick layer of icing - absolutely unnecessary on this gorgeous piece of cake, made it way too sweet. The menus are a bit confusing - we were given two sets, one of which contained duplicated page with breakfast selection, the other set included drinks list instead. Seemed a bit messy.

Afternoon tea as a Christmas gift. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Not rushed. Super food.

It was my first time visiting this lovely cafe, we were quickly greeted at the door and escorted up to the avery seating area, the staff were incredibly friendly and polite and quick to take our order, my jacket potato looked and tasted delicious as did the toasted sandwich which my girlfriend ordered, we both thoroughly loved our visit and will be coming back again, thank you.

Amazing lovely place. The staff is literally adorable and friendly. A large choice of cakes, you can even ask depending on your proper taste, we have asked for a large cookie and we received an amazing sandwich cookie (not even available from the counter so do not hesitate😍) The place is lovely, lot of different small space with flowers around. Smoothie are fresh Afternoon tea seems just so yummy so it might worth it to come and try it and also take the time to book it as it is really busy on the weekend and we know why. The food is fresh, lot of variety on the menu Brunch are available until 12 but even after you will find what you want that's for sure 😍 Also please not that the crazy milkshakes are no more available but normal ones still are.
