Busy cafe. We waited for a table and were not disappointed. Food was to a very high standard. BLT sub for me and tuna mayo brown bread sandwich first class. Each was accompanied by a small side salad and tortilla chips.

I visited on 18th and 19th July for breakfast, 18th was a full English but far too many large hash browns and tinned tomatoes - would have preferred less of those and another sausage, I felt the hash browns and everything swimming in tomatoes and their juice was just a plate filler. The 19th was scrambled egg on toast. All lovely, hot and tasty, but in my opinion a little pricey. They seem to now cram more tables in and customers are on top of each other. I've visited many times over the years but I think it has changed hands and it really isnt as nice as it used to be. My main reason for choosing this cafe over any other in the High Street was they displayed a sticker on the door that indicated No Dogs allowed inside. All other cafe's say they are dog friendly. As much as I like dogs, I dont want to eat with them sat in a public place and so close to me or maybe the staff may have petted it before bringing me my food, very unhygienic. But on my second visit, I got up to pay before leaving and spotted a dog sat at the table behind me with two adults - who had obviously either ignored the sticker or not seen it - as the door was propped open that is possible. As I paid I mentioned to the lady at the till and she had seen the dog and looked quite worried and unsure what to do about it, my suggestion was to tell the owners and point out the sign but she felt she couldnt do that - well, if not her - WHO???? Where's the point of having that sign if no-one upholds it? I wont be returning. As I left, she approached that table to take their order - so the dog stayed. The sign was about three inches square, easily missed, so why, if they really mean no dogs - dont they have them stuck at eye level all along the front windows and door, even one on each table along with the menu - no-one can say they didnt see it then.

Today I visited this 'cafe' with my sister and mum. We ordered 3 sandwiches, 2 toasted. My 74 year old mother was eating her toasty and pulled a long blond hair from her mouth, obviously it turned our stomachs. My sister took my mum's sandwich to the staff and explained the situation. We expected to receive a new sandwich, but a woman came from the kitchen and began shouting that it was a pink hair (I have pink hair) she said I had put my hair in my mum's sandwich! She presented as angry and aggressive. She then proceeded to stomp around and create a scene. Neither my sister or I could finish our food. We were charged £17:70 for the pleasure of having hair in our food, dirty cutlery, questionable food hygiene standards, poor or no customer service & rude and aggressive staff. The same women then followed us to the door and again presented as aggressive and confrontational. I would suggest giving this place a miss, unless you enjoy eating hair and being confronted by staff if you dare complain or comment on the food! We were told by the shouty person that they had good reviews, probably because people are too wary to do otherwise and they do seem to have a monopoly in the area! No doubt the owner will respond to this review in the same manner as they presented today, aggressive/ passive aggressive, rude manner with her colleagues as her cheer squad. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Given a shocking start to our pants holiday, we headed to Dymchurch for a day out, longer we were out the better. Found this lovely cafe, pretty much dead opposite the funfair we just took the children too. Inside was looking full, but a very helpful lady, gave us directions to their clean outdoor seating area. Very easy to order, very friendly and cheerful, both children enjoyed their lunch. Yes we paid £23 roughly, but for a family of four, with drinks and a whole baguette, with more than just 2 slices of bacon, and chips, the size of the Portions , £23 is very reasonable! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Dymchurch!

Stopped here for lunch with a teen on a day out. Unfortunately they had no vegetarian burgers as on their menu and had run out of glasses for the teen to drink from so had a takeaway cup given instead. I opted for chips which were oozing grease at the bottom of the plate. One staff served us our food with no mask, which surprised me . Several customers went up to pay [through the cafe of other customers] and also did not wear masks or get asked to. I didn't feel very covid safe,

We went down to Littlestone and walked along the sea front to Dymchurch on Monday in between Christmas and New Year. We were hungry and found The Village Cafe was open so popped in. The place was heaving, but we found a seat and ordered our food. The staff were very nice, and the food came freshly cooked to order, and there was plenty of it. The fish was large, and there were plenty of chips and some salad. I eat a fair amount, but did struggle to finish mine. On top of that the price was very reasonable. If you find yourself in Dymchurch and looking for something to eat, you could do a lot worse than popping in here. The worse part was having to walk back to Littlestone to pick the car up.......

Popped in today for lunch on a very cold windy day. It didn’t take long with the welcoming atmosphere and excellent food to warm up again! We all had one of the specials - steak pie and a chicken and mushroom pie with homemade mashed potato, peas, green bean and peas with plenty of gravy in a jug and one steak pie with chips, all delicious. For dessert the chocolate cake, which actually defeated our son, was fudgy and rich but still light. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

You order at the counter, and I chose cod with salad, but could have added a jacket or chips. Sweets are limited, but a vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce was a good choice, although I might have waited if I had not chased it up. The café is popular and warns there may be a wait in busy periods, but people are served in arrival order. Mostly local customers, and the café is found just opposite the Post Office. The staff are friendly and chatty and seem to have good banter with the locals. The food is good- the menu is like most cafes with fried breakfasts options, Burgers, Jacket Potatoes, Omelettes, Sandwich etc. i am vegetarian so i tend to have poached eggs which i would recommend but the vegetarian burger here was also very nice. I have been to The Village Cafe on many occasions and have never been disappointed.Whether it's a sandwich or a homemade special or even one of the regular dishes, everything is freshly prepared, beautifully presented, cooked properly and fairly priced. The staff are always friendly and we are always made to feel welcome.

I've visited this cafe many times. The food is always really nice and great value. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The only downside is that you have to order and pay at the counter.

Fairly basic but good value, with helpful staff, looks a bit tired, but doubt if many people will complain. food is not exciting but it will suit families wishing to eat out with basic food

We visited the cafe over the Bank Holiday weekend. The food and service were good but the main highlight for us was how helpful the staff were at finding items on the menu that were suitable for my daughter who has several food allergies. We'll definitely come again next time we're in Dymchurch.

Despite the food being cooked on premises, the selection was uninspiring and the service was a bit all over the place with meals being taken to the wrong table and the girl at the counter unable to add up the bill properly.

Normally have fish and chips on the beach but last visit it was too cold so ventured into this café. The café was nearly full and there was a nice atmosphere. We ordered fish and chips which came with a nice side salad and it was only £1 more expensive then the normal take away we have from another outlet. The food arrived freshly cooked and nice and hot and was delicious - the batter was good and the fish really tasty. All the staff were very pleasant and will definitely use this café again on my next visit.

Very good if a little basic cafe food. Very freindly staff and good value. The kids meals even come with a free bucket and spade which was a great little touch. Its in easy reach of all the towns main attractions and well worth stopping by.

We always come here for breakfast at least once when on holiday in Dymchurch. The Village Breakfast (full English) is delicious and a very generous portion, and the kids love Nutella on toast! Friendly, helpful staff, and prices which make it an affordable treat! We love this place!

We visited the cafe on a sunny spring day so decided to get takeaway to eat on the beach instead of eating in, and received brilliant service from Radley, who was friendly, funny and obviously working really hard to get everyone's orders out as quickly as possible. The food itself was terrific - lovely crisp batter, non greasy chips and really generous portions. I would definitely recommend this cafe to all. It's really convenient too, being right in the centre of the village and opposite the funfair - really made it feel like being on holiday!
