Great coffee & great service. Bacon sandwiches are excellent, cooked to perfection. All round good, local cafe with friendly, timely service

A group of us agreed to have a take out while doing a big cleaning project. I popped up the day before to pick up a menu and they suggested I could phone the order through to save time. It was ready on time and absolutely delicious. We'd ordered a selection including fish & chips, cheesy chips and wraps and we were all delighted and full.

Myself and a couple of mates have been going here fairly regularly on Sunday mornings after playing golf. It's a small, friendly and clean little cafe that we've enjoyed using, although it's not the cheapest but the food is good. It has become a bit of a standing joke that they've never got our order right yet though. Two of us got there at 12pm today and ordered two large breakfasts. One with tea, one with coffee. One with mushrooms changed for black pudding, the other with hash browns also changed for black pudding. After 20 minutes the tea and coffee arrived. 20 minutes later (drinks almost finished) the lady came out to apologise for the wait, the chef had apparently "done one" today. 5 minutes later toast arrived. The lady asked if we wanted and sauces. My mate asked for ketchup. Ten minutes later (toast stone cold by now and drinks finished) breakfasts arrived. Mine was missing its hash browns. I pointed it out and then even said not to bother if they had to be cooked yet. They arrived 5 or so minutes later, breakfast already half finished. The lady was polite and apologetic but on coming to pay were we were offered no reduction in cost by way of recompense. Pennies short of £18 for two breakfasts that took over 50 minutes to arrive... wrong. Sorry Cafe CC. We made our last visit this morning.

We happened to stumble across this cafe on the way home from going away. We were greeted instantly and given our table. Our order was taken straight away and the lady reread our order to make sure it was correct as we made some modifications and had a large drink order. We didn't wait long for our breakfasts and everything was perfect. Lovely staff, all friendly and talkative. If we were ever in the area again we would come here. Great job :)

We had not expected this cafe to be open on a cold day between Xmas and New Year, but were pleasantly surprised. Good steaming hot takeaway coffee which was a welcome beak on a frosty winter's walk

Met my mate for breakfast at the Cafe as its a mid point between us. We were warmly welcomed by mine host, left to peruse the menu. we selected two small breakfasts which came with a pot of tea of fresh coffee. Well, the meal was fresh, well presented, more than enough to fill two blokes. Staff attentive and pleasnat when the meal was finished and we were just having our drinks. We could have sat outside with it being a blazing hot early morning too. Premices well presented, smart, and clean. Nothing to fault, another place to add to our regular meeting up venues.

Visited after a trip to the local garden nursery on speck. We were so delighted to find this cafe. The food was excellent, a good choice all severed piping hot . The all day breakfast was filling and presented very well , two of us had a tuna panini absolutely wonderful. The cafe has been opened only a few under new management, it called Cafe Cc and truly deserves to do very well. If in the area well worth a visit.

I'd been told about the Village Cafe and how good the food was there, by friends, some time ago... thought I'd give it a try when passing by the other lunchtime. It's a small place, compact I would say, off the main road so not easy to spot if you don't know the area. There's a good selection to choose from on the Specials Board plus a Meal Deal of main course, desert and cup of tea or coffee. I plumped for this; choice was from the Specials Board, to which I was torn as to which of my two favourites..... the home made minced meat pie won which was promptly served, hot and substantial. Not sure whether the peas and carrots were fresh or tinned as a tad on the watery side, having said that, I did enjoy the pie and chocolate sponge and custard which came after. Maybe another visit and a different choice of meal is in order.....

Had just decided there wasn't anywhere for a coffee when we came across this little gem. Really pretty vintage decor, lots of really tempting cakes and biscuits. We had 5 large hot coffees for the price of £11.20, really reasonable

We had a lovely evening here. Upon arrival the pub was clean and welcoming. Myself, my mother and my daughter came and the staff were so lovely and assertive. The food was really nice, we came in here as we were visiting the area and we would definitely come again.

Amazing Sunday breakfast. It looks closed when you drive in to the car park and if you try to get in through the restaurant door you will still think it’s closed. Be creative go to hotel reception, no obvious sign just look for the door. If you are persistent you will be delighted by the breakfast. We went for Fathers Day breakfast. Choice of raspberries, strawberries, melon, yogurt cereal etc. Followed by cooked breakfast made to order. Beautifully cooked ingredients which. I couldn’t resist toast and marmalade to finish. Choice of a pot of tea or coffee. My only criticism would be that the coffee could be a little stronger but that’s my preference. A lovely food experience sat at a white starched table cloth in a calm environment with lovely staff.

The food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips, fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead, sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .

" Gastropub " it says on their website....NEVER ! We went for Sunday lunch after reading how popular this place was on our local FB page. Not the nicest of dining areas , certainly not like their photos. Tiled floor , mis-matched furniture, more like a transport cafe for lorry drivers. The whole place is very rundown and drab , peeling wallpaper, damp patches etc. No starters available . Meat was tender and plates piled high but frozen soggy sprouts, cabbage with loads of stalk and nothing seasoned at all . Very bland .Not a good experience. We like to support local businesses but sadly won't return here. The staff were lovely but it needs a lot of money and a total revamp in order to survive . I hope it does!

We were seated quickly in a pleasant room. After a shortish wait we ordered 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips and 2 coffees. After a long wait the coffee arrived but was only lukewarm, I asked for another one that was hotter but the waitress seemed confused, eventually we got replacements which were slightly warmer but I didn't want to risk complaining twice ... The food was delicious but the chips were plonked down with no offer of vinegar or sauces, not even salt. After rugby tackling a passing waitress we asked for vinegar which was deposited on the table but with no comment or question about whether there was anything else we wanted. At no point did anyone ever come back to the table to ask if everything was alright or did we want anything else, which considering it is table service and not cheap, I would expect. We are still here wondering how on earth we pay as we have been finished for at least 15 minutes and are still being studiously ignored. Maybe if we get up to leave they might notice us. To summarise food lovely if expensive service atrocious.
