£9.95 for a single non-alcoholic can and some crisps 😂 I have fond memories of this place, but the new landlord has some work to do, particularly on his attitude and morality. All for supporting pubs—we all know they get a tough ride—but this place just takes the mick.

While the lovely staff, locals, and ambience of this establishment are second-to-none, I lament that the collage of dog images has been removed from the wall recently. Many of us are dog-mad here - and one of the reasons we adore this place is because of the culture of welcoming our canine companions. This removal is an unnecessary change that does not sit well with some of us.

Spent the weekend in Bristol last week and stumbled across this place for our dinner. We both had the Sunday roast and the beef was cooked just how we liked. The accompanying vegetables were cooked well and the whole meal was tasty. The pub was busy but the service was still good. We enjoyed our meals here and would return again if we were in Bristol.

We went on 25th for Sunday lunchtime having been a few times before & thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately yesterday must have been an off day. The broccoli appeared to have by-passed the cooking process they were so hard, the Yorkshires were a bit doughy & not up to the usual crunchy high standard. Most disappointing was after the ordered roast pork arrived we were informed there was no crackling! Would have been nice to have been told when ordering. As I said before, lets put it down to a bad day at the office

The Victoria Park pub is well known for its delicious Sunday roasts but I haven't been there for a weekday lunch before. The pub is warm and friendly and the food was delicious. In a party of five there wasn't anything left on any of the plates at the end but needless to say we were all full afterwards. It was the perfect venue for a family meet up or special occasion and staff were attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. The only minor issue is that some dogs were allowed to roam around the pub off their leads and my mum is afraid of dogs. Personally, I think it is great that dogs are welcome but my mum became quite agitated when a dog started sniffing around our table while we were trying to eat.

Let’s face it. The “grumpy publican” thing was played out years ago. But, bartender acts like it’s an imposition to take your order. Classic. There is a decent selection of cask and keg beers and they will give you a sample if you like to try something new without committing to a schooner. I had a very nice sour ale. Main reason for the low review? The grunter (toilet) needs serious attention. It’s a very small place and the smell from the toilet covers at least half of it. Wasn’t space to move far enough away.

Searched online for a dog friendly place in Bristol. I'm so glad we visited this pub. This little gem is tucked away in residential streets, but it is worth a visit. The food was fantastic, the staff were friendly. The menu has a good mix of traditional and something a bit different. I had the Mushroom Wellington which was delicious! Doggy treats are available for our 4-legged companion and plenty of belly rubs!

Used to be a great pub with great food but since being taken over recently - the quality has seriously diminished and it’s basically Wetherspoons quality at gastronomy pub prices. The staff are still great and they can’t help the poor quality food even agreeing with me when I complained. Will still go in the summer for a beer but not eating here again until the quality improves drastically.

An enchanting traditional pub that lives up to expectations! Everything, from the attentive staff to the delicious food and cozy atmosphere, was superb. While the coffee left something to be desired, it’s not typically the highlight here. Ideal for a Sunday roast or a relaxing drink in the sunshine. The local vibe adds an extra layer of charm to the experience.

Great atmosphere lunchtime vibe with friendly staff. The tables though wiped had that sticky cafe feel and the menus similar and tired. I had a sharing Nachos for two which was probably small for one at the price . The Nachos were a little soft and all was a little below par. My friends burger was overdone and apparently just ok. It’s a shame as this pub used to provide a better standard of food . I am not even sure I would go out of my way to as a pub unless it was for the garden in warmer months

Been here before and had great meals but when we turned up Monday things were very different. No one greated us (4 staff stood by bar) We found our own reserved table, waited a while, asked about menus. When we ordered there was stuff not available (fine) but then it was a guessing game as we went through the menu - running back and forth to the kitchen to ask if they had it. No brocoli on the kids menu (fine) but then when I got my main we had broccoli on our plates? All minor things but when put together with the cleanliness of the place (we were almost the first table of lunch) and the WCs were filthy, the pub was freezing. I was embarressed that I had suggested the place. And food was awful - childrens goujons were like bricks, mine main was hot in places cold in others. My partners gammon was dry and grim. The salads were old, wet and wrinkly. No one asked how the food was (probably worried to ask) Sorry to leave a bad review but its such a contrast to what it use to be? Wont be back any time soon.

Went for some Christmas Eve lunch today and despite their website saying they were doing the standard Sunday menu, was told all was available were roasts. Ordered 1 pork (£16) and 1 lamb (£18) and what was served up was pre-cooked meals that had been pinged in the microwave. Staff couldn't even be bothered to clear our (half eaten) plates. Place was also freezing cold. Won't be returning.

Been visiting the victoria park pub for many years but unfortunately it has deteriated. Met up with friends for food and drinks last night. The price of food has increased and much smaller portions. We ordered the chicken skewers which used to be 4 but now 2 small skewers and mine came out on a saucer as they had ran out of plates. The chips are now served in much smaller bowls. Very disappointed as between the 3 of us it came to £31.50 for a bit of chicken and a few chips. Will definitely give this pub a miss in future.

We booked a table thinking it would be busy on a Saturday afternoon just before Christmas. We arrived and it wasn’t particularly busy at all most tables were empty so it was fine. We ordered drinks I wanted a Hendricks and tonic there was no cucumber we were informed ok not the end of the world. We then attempted to order food. Husband wanted steak. No steak! Then No fish and chips No pizza No steak and venison pie! The menu seemed to be depleted of most things it seemed. We eventually got some food and the chunky ‘frozen’ chips were hard so most were left. We then ordered desert. We thought a festive sundae sounded good and a chocolate creme brûlée with brownie and strawberries. Was looking forward to that! Oh no the sundae was thrown into a pudding bowl with bits of Christmas pudding in some ice cream and squirty cream on top it was horrible. My anticipated brûlée arrived…..no not that at all a chocolate melt in the middle fondant with a blob of ice cream. We felt we had spent over £65 on something we would never want again. We won’t be going here again and do not recommend disappointing visit

This was the first time I visited for dinner. I have previously visited for Sunday lunch and that was very good all around. The problem started with ordering from the specials board, At the bar, the staff member was unable to select the special item I ordered from the ordering system and had to put it through as something else. No problem I thought, until the starter came out. The server said that the mains were also on the way, however, he had disappeared before I could clarify what he meant by his comment. Sure enough, we had barely tucked in to our starters when the same chap turned up with the mains. My worst fears were confirmed and I sent him back and told him to come back after the plates for the starters had been cleared. Needless to say, parts of the mains were dry after being reheated, so a disappointing experience. Communication & coomon sense seemed to go out the window on this occasion.

And daughter enjoyed her burger (onion rings were late coming out so she docked a point for that!) all in all a really lovely meal and we’ll come back given the prices weren’t too silly. Came here after Uncle recommended and booked it, as it was a good central place for both families to meet up. Lovely Gastro pub with a beautiful garden and lovely views. Ordered lunch and with my autistic daughter having very particular dietary needs asked if they could do her a plain chicken breast burger in a bun with chips, our server (forgot to get her name ) was friendly cheerful and helpful, (nothing seemed like too much trouble) Most of the party (6) had Sausage and Mash, bro had homemade pie, & I had pesto linguine. All agreed very nice. Desserts were chocolate brownie (of course 😋 for my DD) passion fruit cheesecake for me and bro and sticky toffee pudding for my birthday dad. The barman (again didn't get a name 🤦♀️) offered to take a pic of us all (after seeing me struggling) , we paid, I asked to thank the kitchen too and we left. A lovely place to drink and/or eat. I will be back soon with my OH for a drink at dusk in the garden with stunning views of our lovely city, and with water on tap (help yourself), games and a "dog menu" this is one place worth going out of your way to visit . This was my old local, when I lived on Oakfield Road. I revisited, this week, and found it lacking in any charm, and presumably under different ownership. No background music, not an especially great beer selection, and, to spite it all, a barman who overcharged us across two rounds for 2/3 servings. The chap in question was an overweight, grey, bearded fellow. One of us called him out on the overcharging and he denied he had done so, yet wouldn't provide a receipt. The maths board tickled me, for many Uni maths students frequent the place and it's obviously their pub challenge. The fireplace snug is also a rarity. This was lovely to see, as floorspace is easily reclaimed by gaming machines, thankfully absent. I wonder if this space will be fully occupied in the winter to come, what with energy prices on the up and up. If not, come and keep your local pub warm (and open) - they need you!

Lovely garden great for beers in the sun. Great space to watch the world go by and spend your leisure time. Will be visiting again. Malcolm was brilliant.

To even suggest, obviously by name, that you have anything even remotely close to a French bakery is absolutely laughable. The standard, the quality, the service just all of it is no comparison. Change the name because it’s an insult to France. But first and foremost, put on a smile and fix your attitudes. Especially that old man.

A few drinks on a Sunday, and a bit of karaoke to boot. Lost my card somewhere but the super helpful bar people, and security made sure I'd cancelled it, and even got me a taxi home. Such a great pub.

So much to like in this friendly pub. Staff nice, good beers, nice layout and great garden. But…..the food is disappointing. The pizzas are ok but the rest really should be better. Feel bad writing this because I love the place. Would be great if they could upgrade the food a bit.

The only night out I go on - someday they’ll teach me the lyrics to a Beyoncé song… 100% would recommend for a good wiggle after a drink
